Madmohamed123:See Nigerian politics as it is today, let's face it, Igbos have a very slim chance of becoming the president of this country. It's not that I'm witch-hunting the Easterners. It's just the real deal. You guys don't have the numbers (remember we still practice democracy of numbers) and most importantly, Igbos lack the knowledge to build strategic alliance. I'd pass that as a result of their sheer arrogance. You see Tinubu begging northerners for delegates the other day and we're all here laughing. Let's face it Man, this is democracy, and that of numbers. An average Aboki doesn't care if he sleeps under the bridge or in front of someone's shop from Jan to Dec without any basics of life. Whereas they're the ones to vote and decide who your next president is. Until Igbos understand and show readiness to play by the script, it'll be a bit difficult to see an Igbo president, unless for divine intervention ooo! |
Carthman:You sabi road for Lagos.... Saw that blue church building and I was like.... WTF menh! This ain't Lekki |
Money makes a man looks angelic. |
Whoever wrote this piece for Ohanaeze isn't a good PR person. Stressing and emphasizing Igbo presidency is a wrong choice of expression. The president is supposed to be the president of Nigeria and the right tone should suade towards Igbo presenting a president for a united Nigeria. Yes, i know some of you will say i took the words out of context but read through again and ask yourself if you would have left your intents in a write-up open to second-guessing? You're addressing a critical and yet sensitive issue that boards on sentiments in the present day Nigeria, and your ability to know this and employ the right tactics cannot be overemphasized. The tone should always be persuasive and convincing at all times. Persuade and convince people from other regions to see reason why a president of Igbo descent is best for Nigeria at this point in time. Jonathan and the entire South-south and South-eastern region will only give you about 20 to 30% of the total votes. Face it guys, you need other regions to win. You have to carry the Northern grassroot voters along... You need to have a tactics in place to boycott their bigwigs who might be against your mandate and speak to the grassroots who have been at the receiving end of the endless crimes of banditry and insurgency. You need to convince the Westerners on why religious or tribal sentiments will do them no good. Talk to the talakawas (like they're called in the North). Win them over instead of going from post to pole dishing out threat-like vendettas with demeaning words like South-east presidency or .... I for one really pray and wish for Peter Obi but deep down inside me I know he might not make it through the primaries. History has shown that the best candidates are usually relegated in Nigeria's political landscape. |
Let's see where this takes us. Next time Naija hears the word change we all go'n ask for the specifics. |
Country hard! People now resort to crime to level up. Siraju's salary could barely afford a bag of rice and pay his children's school fees. Him follow shout sai Baba 4x4! |
funshint:I take exception to having Obasanjo mentioned in the same sentence with Buhari. I mean that man is a genius when compared to his predecessors. His figures speaks for him. Economy, security, country's debt portfolio....just name it. I'm not really saying he's a world-class leader ooo. Obviously he's got his own flaws too but my take is that he's in a class of his own when compared with Uncle Jona and Buhari. |
Funny but necessary. I could remember how the EndSar protest brutality videos were talked down as being doctored, fake and hoaxed. But today, a sex video of a girl and a dog is believed to be true and funny thing is that the police is now acting on the tape to launch a manhunt for the culprit. Talk of hypocrisy at its very best. |
sapele914:I bolded that part above to bring you back to my original question. Who amended that constitution prior to the 1999 election that brought OBJ to power? Prior to the election, Nigeria as a country was gorvened based on military decrees by Abdulsalam Abubakar. Then on what date did he agree with Nigerians to foist the second republic (1977) constitution on Nigeria in era that's popularly billed the 4th republic? NB: Do you know that the supposed 1999 constitution remain un-changed until the first amendment on it under the GEJ era? However you claimed that the constitution got its name as the 1999 constitution as amended by the sheer fact that the 1977 constitution was amended before it became the laws of the land from 1999. "January 2011, two amendments of the 1999 constitution were signed by President Goodluck Jonathan, the first modifications since the document came into use in 1999." - source: Wikipedia Again I ask, where and when did Nigerians agreed with Abdulsalam Abubakar that the country will be governed by the second republic constitution in the 'supposed 4th republic'? |
obynzo:I don't even know where to start with you without making this an epistle. Best is to keep it as succinct as possible. Let's go back the memory lane. Please comb the internet and point me to data that supports your claim that during Peter Obi's tenure, local production of the state rose so high and maybe surpassed Ogun state, not to mention Lagos where you detests so much. How many industries sprung up during his tenure and how many of them are still functioning today? Any Tom, Dick and Harry can start something if there's no framework for long-term sustainable development you'll be back to zero in no time. Again, back to the Lagos you hate so much, beginning from Lateef Jakande to the drug baron from iragbiji (as you'd call him), see how development and growth has been sustained through successive government, up till Fashola that came and rejig the whole long-term framework of Lagos state. As good as Peter Obi seems, the present governor of Anambra state (same place where Peter Obi hales from) didn't turn to him for coaching on good governance, rather, he called Fashola for that role. Maybe that should settle the scores. Pen out! |
sapele914:Please point me to a date in history when Nigerians sat down and draft the 1999 constitution. If you can't, please refer me to the source of the current constitution. I await your findings. |
lexy2014:Look around you and see for yourself. In case you're still sleeping, wake up and smell the coffee. You're in a country where state governors are called the Chief Security Officers of their state but have no say on security infrastructure and personnels operating in their respective states. It's only in Nigeria and perhaps other African countries that you see their president being flown abroad for medical checkup/treatment with tax payers money while the presidential Villa hospital remains heavily budgeted for. Share a link of any news from the poorest European or South American countries where their head of state frequents a foreign country for health reasons. Nigeria as it is is being run on borrowed funds. Borrowing would not have been an issue if it's been used to create or build money generating corporations but that's not the case in Nigeria. You borrow to pay bogus salaries to legislators (one of the highest paid globally), yet the law makers of the countries we're borrowing from earn less than those charlatans in our national assembly. No provision in the constitution place a cap on their salary. People embezzled billions and get 3 to 5 years jail term or asked to pay bail of some hundreds of thousands. Worst is that those who choose to serve jail term do so knowing that the power that be will grant them pardon. In Nigeria, how many local government chairman live and stays in their local government area? Senators and house of representatives live and stays in Abuja and claim they know the plights of their constituents. How? A constitution that have backdoor/loose end for every laws you can think of, is that one a constitution? Just recently, they said Jonathan is ineligible to be sworn in as president with constitutional citations backing it up....only for another group to come up with another sections of the same constitution to counter the earlier claims against GEJ eligibility. Use your tongue to count your teeth. Ask yourself this simple question. Before 1999 general election, when Abulsalam Abubakar was the military head of state, when did Nigeria as a country sat down to agree on the current constitution we use today? |
Bluntguy:Are you admitting that truly Peter Obi didn't really do much to Anambra state aside from the fact that he didn't leave the state's coffer in debt? Or you stylishly want to use Tinubu and Lagos state debt portfolio as a Vail to divert attention from Peter Obi's shortfalls? For a fact...I'm not a supporter of any politician. Even if my papa turn to politics today, I'll face front and let him run his show. I don't hold any of them to any esteem because all what's on display in Nigeria is madness. True leadership is alien to the African people right from the dawn of time. Kings sold their subjects as slaves during the precolonial era. Today, Buhari is mortgaging the future of this country in the name of borrowing. Before him, GEJ surrounded himself with thieves he called ministers except for madam Ngozi Okonjo... Before GEJ was OBJ whom under his watch, NEPA was sold with an irrevocable license to a company that lacks the resources to deliver on its mandate. The list is endless. Abeg leave politics to those thieves. Nothing is gonna change in this country unless they change that thing we call constitution and make it brutal on political officers who mismanage public funds. |
siofra:I'm up for the taking! If only you can meet the demands, I won't mind you marrying 10 husbands after me. My list is short and abridged. Here we go: 5 Adult fully grown elephants 10 matured virgin she-goats (must be matured enough to reproduce but must be virgin) 10 pregnant mosquitoes 2 grown lions brought alive to the venue of the wedding by the wife herself (one each on her left and right hand). 10 ounces of snow white sand gotten from the last dept of great red sea of the Atlantic ocean. Lastly, the wife must be a virgin herself. I no dey ask for too much |
Keda25:He doesn't needs to be legally married to have claim to the child. You guys don't understand the Op can actually sue the girl's family for extortion and other shit if he's got those calls with the girl's elder brother recorded. But my verdict on this is that the @Op should show some respect to the dead and his first child ever. Just give to ceaser what belongs to ceaser. Let him beg them for time to raise funds and get the shit done. When next his Mom advises him, he won't think twice before obeying. |
@StilmaVsBorn2w Please take the words from @koolest4christ close to your heart. One of the best advice out here. I totally understand why you're feeling this way. I mean you just lost a soulmate after seriously battling with Mr. Death for her through your finances. Today you're in debt over a lost battle and then this whole shit from her family. I understand nobody is concerned about your emotional state at the moment you're grieving. It's not wrong to say this shouldn't have been the time to bring up all these shitty talk of getting married to her dead body. Whether you believe in superstitions or God is immaterial at this point. It's equally immaterial if you're not afraid of the girl's family bullying or not. What's most important right now is your show of respect for your son's mother. I pray God softens your heart to just give to ceaser what belongs to it. Rally around your friends for help. Let them know the shit you found yourself in. Call the girl's elder brother back and ask for their Dad's phone number. Talk to them in the most polite and sobber way. Let them see you grieving genuinely. Make him understand how indebted you are over her medical bills. Ask him for favour so they'll lower their demands from you. Tell him you're not in the best frame of mind for this kind of conversation but for the love and respect you have for them and their late daughter, you just have to do this. Remember, this is not being cowardice. It's wisdom. If not for the love and affection you have for your late wife, then Do it for your first child ever! koolest4christ: |
Fact. The bar of quality governance hasn't just been lowered by Buhari, it's been completely thrown away. Like WTF menh! How did we get here? Every 1d1ot wannabe president. Hard times ahead folks. Brace up! |
simpleseyi:See you wey be Omo Ilorin... It's okay not to know something, but what's worst is when you are arrogantly ignorant. I can bet you're one of those who think the lingua franca in Kwara State is Hausa because they're classified as North Central. Where in Kwara State are you from? I think getting to know your gemology will help disect where your knowledge gap steams from. |
Akwaibom1stlady:80k for the LG TV What make is the Gen? and it'll be nice to know if it's aluminum or copper coil. Reply so that I'll know what to plan |
simpleseyi:Fulanis bear Yoruba names now I suppose? Seem like you didn't read Olola among his names. |
Payperboii:I have but you have to match Elon Musk bid for Twitter or else no deal. Edited: I know after you collect login details na to block the fool wey give you him login straight. I kuku know say you go see mumu wey go give you. Keep trying. |
Op, If you're privileged to read this, take every word you read here seriously. I can rightly guess you're about 33 to 37 years of age. There's nothing wrong with you. I repeat, you're scientifically and spiritually healthy and sound. Evil spirit exists, but they only exist in the mind. If you allow your mind to harbour the thought of being bewitched or having spiritual partner, my brother you're doomed because Alfas, pastors and Babalawos will use you cash out big time. There's just one simple solution to your problem. The solution is so simple that you have overlooked it for years. Your body is yawning and longing for a female. Listen to your body, not your heart this time. Your heart has kept you a vagine till this day, now it's the to allow your body to get what it wants. Simply put. Get yourself a female partner. Be it a wife or Girlfriend (with right intentions to end up marrying her). Free your mind and let nature take it course. If sex happens, let it happen. It's natural. Don't demonize erection and wet dreams. When you get yourself a woman, and probably starts cohabiting, probably after your first 6 months of cohabitation, come back here and tell us if you still feel any of those shit. Peace. |
AfricanWahala:I think I agree with that guy. Furry isn't that good. He wouldn't have rose this high in Mike Tyson's era. That era should be called the golden age of boxing because it features the games heaviest punchers. Go back to YouTube and watch Tyson's opponents. Those guys are killers but Iron Mike shone the brightest amongst them. Furry would never have lasted 6 rounds with Larry Holmes not to mention Iron Mike himself. |
jaxxy:Dillian White for me is not a good boxer. He was standing at a 180⁰ instead of 90⁰ thereby making himself vulnerable to KO from a direct heavy uppercut. Iron Mike should be a course of Study for shorter boxers who aspire greatness in the game. If you're short and finds yourself in the heavyweight division, you'd better have heavy killer punch on both hands and aim for the side ribs with those strong punches, that way, the taller guy will bend over a bit to cover that part of his body which then exposes the face to deadly uppercut that can end the match. Iron Mike mastered this technic so well that it became his trademark throughout his reign. |
We4all:Grow up son...not everybody die prematurely like they do in your family....Plus not all children are raised to grow up and not have any iota of love for their parents like you. People like us who grew up seeing our parents take care of their own parents (our grannies) know the importance of taking good care of our parents...and we're doing just that. So when we speak in forums like this we do so with a positive mindset due to the kind of upbringing we've had. Little wonder why the cup is half full at our end while it's half empty at your place. |
We4all:I know it can be very hard to write as a poorly raised or mannerless child without having to insult the person you're writing to. If you have superior argument, bring it to the table without throwing tantrums...or was there a place in the comment you replied to where I insulted the intelligence of my readers? Had to come down to your level just in case that's the only language you understand. |
yuping:The goal is to have a child you can call your own and one who will look after you when you age. Leave modesty aside. When last have you checked on your old parents? Imagine if you or any of your siblings are not there at all to check on them and maybe provide for them. How do you think they'll cope? In certain circumstances, it makes no sense to be politically correct. Just do anything that's required to have someone to look after you when you get old.... I know you're a man. I'm talking about the ladies sha |
helinues:Let's say PDP as a party is filled with geniuses because how they managed to run the country despite all their embezzlements, yet average Nigerians lived far more comfortable than they're living under the saints in APC, security was bad but never to the point where we have to employ the services of a NAF chopper to escort a train. Truely PDP is filled with corrupt bunch but how does it sound to you that your incorrupt president granted presidential pardon to two convicted ex-governors who were found guilty of embezzling public funds? And come to think of it, is APC not just a branch of PDP? At least 60 to 70% of the APC were all former PDP members, so what's the fuse? |
winnah:Boss, I need a job ooo... please help a brother. If you've got the connect, please bless me and my family with one. Don't put the safety of your company and yourself at risk. Giving job to a known fraudster is like delibrately ignoring the importance of background checks pre-employment. |
Agricmatter:Thank you so much for this succinct response....I've also watched some YouTube about it. It'll be nice I come for farm visitation one of these days. I know Ikirun to some extent....been there a couple of times, also, it's a route I follow steady. |
Op, how many times do you harvest from the same plant before it dies? And how long does it take to grow from suckers to a fully grown plant with fruits? Does it require watering? What's the management like? |
