sjeezy8: GREAT THANKS, ( still not making sense of your statement about how Sullivan of Enugu is performing very well compared to "well" Fashola) The fact remains the same Enugu aint shiot the population is like 1/3 of Lagos' less people more )
The state has a population of 17 million out of a national estimate of 150 million. The UN estimates that at its present growth rate, Lagos state will be third largest mega city the world by Y2015 after Tokyo in Japan an Bombay in India.
Of this population, Metropolitan Lagos, an area covering 37% of the land area of Lagos State is home to over 85% of the State population.

babapupa: Afam-
For what it's worth, people love Fashola for a whole lot of reasons, not just because he's building roads and bridges, they equally love his style, personal character and governing style. Dude pulled them back from the edge of abyss and total destruction and he is not your average Nigerian politician.
Simple stuff like riding around Lagos without sirens blasting and mopol beating people to clear road endeared a lot of people.
You might want to visit his website sometimes. Dude is out every single day doing something and touching people's lives, just check the dates on the pics and videos.
http://www.tundefashola.com/sight/index.html I stated earlier that the focus is on Fashola because Lagos is usually in the spotlight. I was in Enugu sometime last month and I was shocked at what the governor is doing in that state. Security is guaranteed and basically non existent fraudulent practices as he personally inspects projects at night, does not move around with siren and all that. I am sure not many people know this, hence my referencing him. I do not belong to the group that are desperate to prove that their tribe is better. I do not want to belong to the same group with idiots like larez and sjeezy8. sjeezy8: From your earlier post i thought you had some sense but now i see you dont. How can one compare Enugu with a population of 5-6 million to Lagos with a population of 15-20 million? Not to mention the decades of neglect made by the Federal Government in regards to Lagos' population density. Fashola is doing 1 trillion times better than Sullivan Chime. Give credit where credit is due especially with Lagos being the smallest state in Nigeria while having the highest population. Not to mention the many illiterate migrants from all of Nigeria, Niger republic, Benin republic and Burkina Faso. When Enugu reaches 15- 20 million poplation with a predicted growth to 25 million we'll acknowledge Enugu. But right now fashola is doin what he can and its like david and goliath. Well, considering the high level of "intelligence" you just displayed by putting the population of Lagos at 15 - 20 million and the very stupid notion that while you are ready to praise Fashola for the work he is doing in Lagos and claiming he is a performing governor (by the way in comparison with others) you cannot stand any form of reference to another performing governor. Only tribal bigots like you can descend so low like you have done. By the way my reference to Sullivan of Enugu was clear enough as some idiots like you had earlier claimed that other states would not mind having Fashola as their own governor. larez: It may be pertinent to also mention that this thread is not about Enugu or Chime. This is a thread that was created based on consensus about Fashola. Even yesterday evening, I read in the news about him being labeled by a Northern Governor as the leader of all the other Governors. This Governor further requested that Fashola invites him to Lagos, so he could learn more about good governance from Fashola. Statements now being made confirms my earlier observation about some certain clowns thinking that they are in competition with Lagos and particularly Yoruba people. Lagosians are simply celebrating a Great Governor who truly cares about the people. Are we allowed to do this in peace?
We should all attempt to stick to the subject of this thread please. Interesting, when you are not lying about anything, spreading hate you are typing out of point. Where were you when idiots like you claimed that other states would not mind having Fashola as their own governor. In case your warped sense of reasoning cannot get any worse, the moment you begin to compare Fashola to other governors you simply invite comparisons whether your pig head agrees with this fact or not. Why don't you rid yourself of the Yoruba this, Yoruba that. There is life outside tribalism shithead. |

@topic,
Fashola is doing well but Sullivan Chime is doing very well in Enugu state.
Unfortunately, many people focus their attention on Lagos and wrongly assume that he is the only performing governor to the extent that some people would claim that other states would not mind Fashola becoming their preferred governor. |

You may want to also delete any other such pictures on your hard drive. It is truly sickening. Do you know that you do more harm by the hatred you are spreading here? Your hate filled and tribalistic posts are far worse than the images you seem to be complaining about but it is obvious you don't realize it probably because you grew up being thought that it was ok to hate another even when you don't know why you were being asked to hate. You are a classical hypocrite. Your explanation to the guy that referred to you as a tribalist is laughable because you think you can influence the impression people have about you. Grow up! People will judge you based on the hate filled post you put down especially when you cannot see anything well unless doing so with a tribal prism. |

I live and work in Lagos and needless to emphasis the fact I have friends mostly from the West who do not sleep and wake up drumming tribal support for everything they come across. Personally, people who see every single thing through a tribal prism don't deserve to be seen or heard because they are the very cause of problems in this country. |

Quote from: larez on Yesterday at 10:45:04 PM Yorubas with their rich culture need to be seriously cautioned. Stop yabbing these people about their comical clothes which consists of the used worn out Oyimbo shirt and the yoruba wrapper given to them as charity gifts from yoruba. Oh yes, and to top it up, they also wear Oyimbo hats and put feathers on them as well. Bad Yoruba people have concluded that these people were indeed savages before Oyinbo came to their villages. This is not right, and Yoruba people should stop. lol See this fool. I'm talking about Lagos and you're talking about Yoruba. Fucking tribalist. @Beaf, Are you new on this forum? Politics › Re: Anambra Relaunches Bakassi Boys! by Afam(m): 8:26pm On Aug 25, 2009 |
nuzo: I posted this comment earlier today in another thread.
I loved the idea of Bakassi when it was initially introduced in the east. Those guys brought back a high sense of security and balance to south easterners; Abia and Anambra in particular. A citizen could walk the streets of these states at any time without fear. People who had blood in their hands seldom come down south, while those who dared; paid the untimate price for their sins. A notorious pastor; Eddy Okereke and the police nightmare; DERICO, were cut into pieces by the Bakassi boys. Bad diasporans were inquiring from their friends and relatives back home whether the Bakassi magic detects somebody who has killed a white man.
The Bakassi boys carried out their barbaric yet generally accepted acts diligently until it was politicized. Politicians started using the vigilante group to harass their opponents. News had it that they began taking bribes, witch-hunting, intimidating innocent people and killing indiscriminately. Factions emerged and the rest became history.
Having noted the significance of Bakassi in those days, it will be cowardly, immature and foolish of Nigerians to suggest such an archaic and barbaric method which could be filled with mistakes and overshadowed by sentiments to seek for security and justice in 2009. We have come of age where we can collectively demand from our government to build strong and effective law and enforcement institutions that can maintain security all over Nigeria. We should demand from the government affordable education, healthcare, electricity and employment as these will reduce crime drastically. We should also call for the re-orientation, well equipped and well paid Armed forces. It is easy to ask Nigerians to demand this and demand that because you are in China so you don't feel the heat. If you were living in Nigeria or Anambra and if you had lost someone or paid ransom to save someone and still made the statement you made above then I would take you serious. Stating that people who support a measure that has worked in the past are foolish, immature and cowardly is the height of your own stupidity because it is people like you that will run away from a problem only to tell stories about the problem later. You must learn to agree or disagree with people without exposing your foul and disgusting side. |

Horus: We can escape from any conspiracy just by becoming united. The Time to Unity is NOW. We see that statement so often but to those that overstand, it doesn't get old, it only gets more relevant!! Time is running out, quick. We cannot afford to be part of shocked, unprepared and dumbfounded masses when it all hits the fan. By this time, and with all the knowledge that has been entrusted to us, we should have already established our own TRUE FREEDOM, our Own self-sustaining, self-ruled and controlled, prosperous black community that becomes a worldwide united black nation and so on. If we're expected to make it through what's coming, you better know we need to be in power by that time. Just making it is about to get even more difficult for anyone without sufficient resources. The thing that the average "African" doesn't seem to get or accept is, WE have to get it done. There is no "savior" scapegoat-copout that is going to come down and hold our hands, think for us, gently explain to us the location of our own asses, take care of everything for us, bubblewrap us and deliver us to our dream homes in our dream communities. WE are the ones that are responsible. Like the saying goes, the only helping hand I need is at the end of my own arm, and I have two of them.!! Excellent contribution. I agree completely. |

Shortly after, he made some moves to lure me into having sex with him but I refused. He roughened me up, tore my pant and raped me. He also infected me,” she narrated in tears in court. Did she leave the pastor's house naked since her pants were torn by the pastor? Why didn't she tell her husband when it happened? It costs about $1 billion to generate 1,000 MW of electricity. That's N150 billion to generate 1,000 MW. N1.5 trillion would generate 10,000 MW which will only stabilize the country's supply for a while. We would need N7.25 trillion to be producing approximately 50,000 MW. Interesting stats there but again, the most important question is this - what is our energy need today? Whatever the government comes up with how did they get to that figure? With energy efficiency I can guarantee you that we can reduce the total energy need (no matter the current estimate) by up to 50% because as things are today it seems that the people in the energy sector do not know what they are doing. Why would you have incandescent bulbs of up to 200W in the market for typical home use when you have energy efficient bulbs rated as low as 5W or 7W? larez: You are a nobody who hides behind the anonymity of the internet. Anambra relaunches Bakassi, armed robbers and kidnappers flee to other neighboring states because failure to do so means instant death
Neighboring states implements similar strategies and armed robbers suddenly don't have a hiding place and the police will have less work to do.

novaman: So coming to the matter before us; if Jimoh Ibrahim has been found to have defaulted in any way then the CBN/EFCC should prosecute him but if he has not done any wrong doing, so why force him to pay; I think the the CBN should be careful of sending wrong signals becos banks will be warry of lending money even to the young enterprenuers planning to settup a business or boost the capital of his business. Visit a microfinance or any of the banks and ask for a small loan and you will see their reaction. We have to be very critical when this kind of matter is brought before us as we might also be sending wrong signals to the outside world. Funny enough you seem not to understand that the reason why the young businessman is denied loan is because the bulk of the funds have been given to the big guys who don't even need collaterals to access the loans. About CBN sending wrong messages and forcing anyone to pay you must understand that the money in question does not belong to the banks but to depositors and shareholders so the CBN's job is to ensure that depositors funds are safe because if things get out of hand it is the same CBN that will be held responsible. The moment you void a contract you cannot be talking about your right and when it comes to non performing loan the debtor has no right to determine how the debt will be settled because to begin with the the debtor failed to do his/her own part. |

Misuse of the name Nigeria on the web I believe every country reserves the right to protect the use of the official name in any capacity anywhere in the world especially where the image is at stake. While searching for a domain name for a project I tried to find out if abcnigeria.com was available and as a matter of fact it was already taken by someone. I tried to visit the website and saw a live website developed for ZEL Custom Manufacturing, a company that manufacture guns. Now, what on earth would the name Nigeria be doing on a domain name belonging to a gun manufacturing company that is based in Florida? Maybe Nigeria means something other than the official name of a country in Africa. I doubt if the ministry of information as a ministry will have the time to look into matters like this one when it has its hands full with domestic matters. Nigeria as a country may not be living up to its potential, the government may not be providing its citizens with all the basic necessities of life, her citizens may be involved in crime (just like other citizens of other countries) but I dare say that as long as Nigeria remains the name of our country I find it objectionable for a gun manufacturing company in Florida, USA to be using the name Nigeria the way it is using it right now. www.abcnigeria.com is the website address. |
