Aigbofa: That's right. Apapa and Tin can should be uprooted and relocated to Enugu as well.
I never knew we had an airport in Apapa and Tincan. I guess we learn everyday.

I think the writer in spot on. I think the government should close down the international wing of the Lagos and Abuja airport and leave Enugu aand maybe Port-hacourt to serve the international arena. yeye dey smell.

Empiree: You and bootlegaz lack reading skills. Yet he accused me of being uneducated. Maybe you need to reread my post. I never said tech is bad. I said I would study and use it for personal purposes instead for living. Thats what my statement meant. Maybe he needs to tell me what defines educated person?. Also I'm not talking about individual typical african who sustain his living in the field.I'm talking about percentage of white and black folks that work in the fields. Be sincere, who have higher chance of getting the job in the field?. Do I need write a page bcus I want to make you guys understand my point?. Smh
But you were advising black people not to go into Technology cos in your warped mind, it's reserved for the whites cos they're better than blacks in technology. I think that's the assertion of an ignorant person(no offense). The whites may have a higher chance of being hired in the field and it can never be because they're more knowledgeable than blacks but could be for other reasons(racism etc).

Pls, let's not get emotional about this issue. As much as i'm totally against the astronomical overhead spending of Nigerian ministries and agencies, we have to ascertain that what Oduah has done is not in accordance with the laid down rules. is the problem the fact that the money used in procuring the cars are exorbitant or what? Let's be clear and take it from there.

CFCfan: California is actually the largest sub-national economy in the world, with a GDP of over $1 trillion. Bear in mind that the population of California is 33 million, yet it's GDP is more than twice the size of Nigeria's.
Sillicon valley(Tech) and Hollywood contributes a huge chunk to California's wealth.

As many commentators have said, this set of Golden eaglets are the most genuine set ever, based on their facial appearance.
I've not seen them sef. I've kinda lost interest in underage competitions cos of the way we've been presenting my father's mates as Under 17 players.

FamilyRe: Bullying Make African Kids Stronger But Kills The American Kids: Why by Afam4eva(m): 9:03pm On Oct 17, 2013
That's because Nigerians see it as a fact of life and being bullied is small compared to other things that they may be facing, so suicide is never an option. Americans on the other hand can see bullying as the world being against them and invariably resort to having suicide thoughts to end the pain.

Empiree: Many of you guys talking about studying computer, information tech or anything that has to do with technology you really need to rethink that step. You think you know tech better than these folks? You better leave tech for whiteys and law enforcement. Go for anything related to medical. You have plenty fields to choose from therein. I graduated in information tech in 2008 in GA. I realized that I did wrong course. I re- enrolled the following yr in medical and dentistry. Forget about tech. Study tech for your personal purposes. Me no sabi all these universities this n that. Education does not guarantee anything. Its an opportunity that may never come. My White friend, Nick, back in 2007 told me education is bullshit. I laughed. I don't blame him at all. As for the guy who wants to spend 3.5m to get masters in US, na u sabi. I wont go for that. I would buy me a land and fence it. The way that 3.5 came another 3.5 would come make I start building my little bungalow than bring 3.5 to study masters that doesn't guarantee future just my thought fellas
Thanks for your advice but no thanks. Technology is the future and redundancy in other spheres has necessitated the need for more technologically savvy people, so i encourage more people to go into that field.

ikp4succes: but Texas is hot sha.. God i love my Cleveland.. but stuff are cheap there.. i will likely relocate there one day.
I really don't read good reviews about Cleveland or anywhere in Ohio for that matter. I heard there's a lot of segregation in that city just like in Detroit.

CFCfan: You're wicked grin
I support the US team whenever they play; but not many folks on NL talk about them or even know them. The US team did Mexico a huge favor on Tuesday by beating Panama, which ensured that the "El Tri" (Mexican team) clinched an inter-continental playoff tie against New Zealand.
It's even a surprise that Mexico didn't qualify automatically as they usually do. In fact, in 4 of their 5 home games in the single qualifying group, they only got 4 points. The US v Mexico WCQ have always ended 2-0 in favor of the US on American soil since 2001.

I believe the US could possibly make the quarters if they have a kind draw (same stage they reached at the 2002 WC). Forward players such as Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey (who is Obafemi
Martins' team mate at Seattle Sounders), Jozy Alti
The US has a good team and have always crossed the group stages of the world vup and sometimes even get to the semis. They're the 3rd team i support after Nigeria and Portugal and i have been following their players who imo have failed to get contracts in competitive teams in Europe except for maybe Dempsey until recently when he returned to the US. Donovan also has the experience. I don't know if Freddie Adu is still in that team. I also hope to see Oguchi Onyewu at the world cup.

GeneralShepherd: Abeg oo my brother, give me orientation..I passed from NYSc in 2012 one year down the line no job..I studied EEE

I got admission to Imperial college and also Cranfield but no funding

I heard its easier to target America any advice?
Pls, what's EEE?

Imperial college is the creme de la creme of British higher education alongside dem Cambridge and Oxdford. Cranfield is also a respected school...If your problem is funding then i think the US is a sure bet. There are cheaper schools in the US with lower standard of education compared to Imperial or Cranfield. It all depends on how low you're willing to go as far as funding and quality is concerned.

The guy has no hope of that, since he isn't a natural born American citizen.
As for political science, you could work for a US politician, or seek admission to Law school.
Correct me if i'm wrong. You studied Political science, right?

Which world? The one that i'm in or another one. You know American football champions are called the world champions. So, by world cup you could mean Great Britain cup.

I find it strange though that you don't support the American soccer team. I've never heard you say anything about them.

DSB: This is not completely valid. There is 'who knows who in America too' and I have dealt with people with crazier accent than mine while working in the US. So you can still get a 'communication' job with your accent if you know your onions. However, you have better chances with the 'non-communication' jobs
That's what we're trying to say. It's always better to play safe.

She's actually pre-med. So, after pre-med, she'll still have to go to medical school just like it is in law?

dayokanu: You cant study medicine in US unless you have a Green card. (Osisi Am I right?)

The best option for you is to try those Carribean medical schools graduate , write your USMLE and come into the US.

if you have the option of getting a medical degree before coming to the US dont miss it
My cousin is studying medicine in the US and she went to the US for the first time 3 years ago.

CFCfan: But Brits here such as Piers Morgan, Georgie Thompson, Isha Sesay (Sierra Leonian that has an English accent), do very well in the US broadcast media.
All a Nigerian immigrant needs is to 'modify' his/her accent a little.
The English accent is worshiped in America, so i'm not surprised. It's also a mainstream accent. One's accent just needs to be clear in order to succeed in the media.

tdade: Babyosisi, well done on this thread ma'am, you're doing a good job.
Now, unto 'me'. I'm trying to convince my old man to let me study in US, but he's a bit hesitant. I need advice on schools. I'm thinking of going the CC route and then transfer to a uni owing to the cost. I've checked san jacinto and HCC and they seem to fit. My only fear is that, although my dad won't want me to work and can pay all through, I like being independent, but I'm not sure I can work with an F-1 visa - I'd like your input on this ma'am. And yes, I can try the SAT and hope for a good offer, but I'm pretty made up about the Community College - partly cause of the opportunity to join PTK if I'm very good(which I am) and the fact that its very flexible. Thanks in advance.
I'll advise that you apply to a 4 year college and when you get there, you can switch to a community college. The American embassy hesitate in giving people who are attending community colleges a VISA.
