beylinko: .Well people see what they want to see regardless of what they see. I am not bitter I am just stating facts. I much like many other people went to the school because we were forced to |
ferdimako: so all those vices mean bad to u?The subject of discussion isn't whose students have worse vices. Its what schools rusticate for the flimsiest reasons. Neither of the above schools have vices... relatively speaking of course |
I came across this picture somewhere on nairaland and I know many Christians are into conspiracy theories. In fact much of Christianity is built on conspiracy theories. I don't know what these symbols mean or signify and I'm not suggesting anything, they are however interesting to me. This is the Arial view of Covenant University. This is definitely it
|
fellis: Wow, tell me about it.How to put it? I'm not a christian and I don't believe the bible to be the word of God. I think that about sums it up |
fellis: The guy is sounding like an arrogant tyrant to me.Lol. Well his empire his rules. People that go there can only blame themselves later if they get put off by the whole thing. Unless they were forced to go there in which case they can blame whoever forced them. About the whole arrogant tyrant, Didn't you see when He slapped a little girl on the pulpit in front of the whole world to see and later came back to brag about it? |
fellis: Why are phones prohibited in the first place? From what I know phones were first allowed in the school. Then phones ringing during lectures and services annoyed school authority then the final straw was when a phone rang when Bishop Oyedepo was preaching and He then impulsively banned it [I'm not sure about this but this is the story I heard while there] Anyway Bishop Oyedepo is not the kind of man to go back on His decisions so even when that decision kept looking more and more stupid, the reasons for not allowing phones kept evolving. It changed to "Students would spend too much money on recharge cards" Then when that didn't make sense anymore, they made a kind of public phone available in the hostels [like a phone booth]... |
fellis: Are laptops allowed?Yes. No modems though to the best of my recent knowledge |
fellis: Rusticating a student for failing to take their Bible with them is too harsh now.Phones are not allowed in the school to the best of my recent knowledge |
fm7070: you can never be rusticated because of such flimsy reason, maybe there is more to it than what you're telling us.I didn't take my bible to an evening service. When bishop Oyedepo was preaching someone stood up and started walking out [Probably to use the toilet] He got angry and shouted on the person for a while. He then asked those who weren't with their bibles to come out. I came out. The case dragged on a bit with them making us do other activities. Eventually some people were rusticated and others were pardoned [probably first time offenders]. I was a first time offender but was given a one year suspension. I went for bible school [Wofbi] and appealed the rustication. I was called back after some months. I wasn't interested anymore. Any case after that would have been expulsion regardless of what year I was in. Are you happy now? |
[quote author=TEA esq™]Expected madonna to be the 1st on the list [/quote]Madonna can NEVER be as bad as covenant universityOnaolamipo: It is a lie. These universities do not expel students because they spend so much on advert on Radio, television, news paper, before their students come inAs at when I was rusticated from Covenant University a few hundred people were also rusticated. Mine was for not taking my bible to an evening service |
Fascinating. A wild but credible theory |
Even with all the claims about not worshiping a white Jesus, I'm sure many black Christians would cringe at this picture
|
Emusan: so you know that one in the Bible but you didn't know where the Bible says ''Only a fool we say there is no God''I've been overlooking your grammatical mistakes because I think we can all understand the point you are trying to pass across but I want to correct this one not from a mocking or superior point of view but I feel such mistakes might affect you somewhere sometime and it would be wrong for me not to point it out. You use We in situations where you should use Will. We is a pronoun used to refer to a group wherein you are included for example We are having a conversation online While will is used to refer to the action that is to be done for example Only a fool will say that there is no God If you are aware of this but you are just abbreviating it to conserve energy then just ignore the above. but always be careful with such abbreviations when in a formal setting |
Emusan: so you know that one in the Bible but you didn't know where the Bible says ''Only a fool we say there is no God''Even if someone is really a fool for not believing in God, Jesus was clear on his instruction not to speak it out. Therefore it is not in your place to call people fools for whatever reason. |
cyrexx: your bible says dont call people fools or else you risk eternal damnation. Are you not the foolish one indeed by disobeying the bible and risking eternal damnation?Seconded |
Emusan: I agreed, but maybe you do it with double mind because his word says ''No double mind shall recieve anything from him (God)''.I didn't do it with a doubting mind. I just did it with no mind at all whatsoever to catch whatever experience there was. As in I wasn't doubting or believing either, I was just clear headed and observing everything. If you are asking me to believe before I start the process I know I would get what I already expect because I would give it to myself not because of God or anything like that. its good that you guys have something to base your beliefs and faith on anyway and in the interest of leaving no stone unturned, I would try it again with a clear mind and see what happens |
Emusan: Exertly, i know you will surprise about that because it beyond any human imagination, simply means God work in miraculous way. Read my post again it's a testimony of a surgeon who doesn't believe in God existence but since that day he know God really exist because nothing like medical assistance. You are confusing me with Kay17. I already told you I tried it what else am I supposed to do? I fasted and prayed trying to keep a clear mind rather by being influenced by the emotions of people around me and no God answered me. So if your God is really as you claim He is then He musn't be much interested in me. Either that or I'm just sane and clear minded. About the whole sun thing. OK. I agree that the sun was a magical ball hung by God in the sky just the same way the rainbow was the bow above God's throne that He removed and put on earth to remind us whenever it rains that He wouldn't destroy the world with water again. a little observation shows its just the reflection of the light on water but what does anybody know anyway. |
Emusan: Do you want to tell me that scientist predictions are accurate or 100%Thank you for your concern ![]() However take it in good faith that I probably know the bible better than you which is because when i decide to do something, i do it well. And i was a christian for most of my life and soon as i became of an independent reasoning age, I decided to look into the phenomenon i was basing MY WHOLE LIFE ON just because my parents forced me to. I'm sure you can guess how it turned out. 1. The bibles many predictions which sometimes conflict are so vague, and even on the vagueness, its also not 100% accurate. It is somewhat accurate though. But then again the bible's books have been re-written so many times by so many people that many things have been changed on hindsight. 2. Whatever you believe would really work for you, Christianity has worked many miracles as well as Islam as well as whatever people base their faith on 3. Asking me how the sun came into existence is irrelevant. That's a poor question to use to try and baffle me anyway because just typing that on google would have provided you with the answer. I would have told you right here and now but I want you to think and find things out for yourself. Please try and make google your good friend. A hint is fusion. 4. Back to the faith idea. I can somewhat recollect a sickness where a woman's skin developed the texture of an elephant. the woman went to the hospital and the doctors were baffled because they had no idea what caused it and what could cure it. This woman had so much belief that doctors could cure anything. The doctors then decided to give her blank pills and told her that it would definitely cure her in 7 days. The woman left the hospital relieved and expected to be cured in 7 days and needless to say she was cured. No Gods involved. This is a phenomenon known as placebo. So if you pray or sing or somersault or swim or whatever and expect something to happen strong enough, it definitely would happen. Science has somewhat proven that our thoughts affect matter. If I scale it down to an idea I hope you can relate to, If I am playing ludo and I expect with all certainty and no doubts whatsoever to roll a particular number and if maybe some people agree with me and share that belief, I would roll the number Tried your suggestion over and over again but there is no God outside of me to answer me. I then realized myself for what I am, a god |
Sighs. When the book or the supposed God cannot say something and stick to it, how are we supposed to believe? |
martinseme: It is really painful to observe how much sucess the kingdom of darkness has achieved in rendering humans totalling oblivious of the disatrous reality of what exists in the spiritual realm in hell for all who are rebellious to God. Many will be in shock when they take the last breath and see that a judgement awaits all men.it wont cost you nothing to take precaution now and be on the safe side.I could say the same thing about the church and you. It also wouldn't cost you anything to think outside the cage religion has put humanity in. The greatest sin is to wilfully reject knowledge lest such knowledge pander not to your prejudices |
nosa gold: Simple. The bible. For the last time, if you read the bible, you will definitely see that the signs which jesus gave are already taking place. If the fact that Jesus gave signs that are already happening are the basis on which you want to force everyone to accept that the bible is the word of God, then please include Nostradamus as God and everyone else that can spot patterns to determine what will happen in the future. IBM analysts, stock brokers, myself and so on... |
striktlymi: Good morning Affiliated,Thank you for your thorough explanation. I can't fault your logic |
Todaynatoday: In a way we can say God slayed him because He removed His protective covering over Saul's life due to Saul's disobedience. God allowed Saul to die because he disobeyed God's direct command to him in regards to slaying the Amalekites and he also practised spiritism. Thanks for the explanation. It explains it better than most could and I am a little bit more satisfied. But I am looking at the bible from the point of view of a perfect book that should contain no inaccuracy. About the God part, God passively allowed Saul to be killed and God didn't actively kill Saul. Saying God killed Saul is therefore inaccurate But let's just accept your explanation like that. About the philistines also, claiming the philistines slayed Saul is also inaccurate. The whole point of Saul committing suicide was so that such a claim wouldn't be made. It wasn't the philistines that was claiming victory in that case, that was the records of isreal |
tintingz: haba fellis this ya angry avarta too mach lah...Matthew 26:27-29 (NIV) Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the [new] covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father's kingdom." End of discussion. There is wine in heaven |
Chanchit: Go ask orunmila baba ifa.Give me links to them please |
fellis: ^No it is not torture. What if as a true christian, it just doesn't? Please don't say the person isn't then a true christian |
Who Killed Saul? 1. Saul committed suicide. Therefore Saul took a sword, and fell upon it. So Saul died. 1 Samuel 31:4-6 Then said Saul to his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. So Saul took a sword, and fell upon it. 1 Chronicles 10:4 2. Saul was killed by an Amalekite. And he [Saul] said unto me, Who art thou? And I answered him, I am an Amalekite. He said unto me again, Stand, I pray thee, upon me, and slay me. So I stood upon him, and slew him. 2 Samuel 1:8-10 3. Saul was killed by the Philistines. The Philistines had slain Saul. 2 Samuel 21:12 4. God killed him. So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, even against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it; And enquired not of the LORD: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse. 1 Chronicles 10:14. I asked this question somewhere else and I got all sorts of funny replies from Saul committed suicide then before He died, He asked an Amalekite who was fighting for the Philistines to kill him quicker. Then I got death threats for daring to research and question the word of God. Needless to say I was very unsatisfied with the answers. So who killed Saul? |
Censorship is slavery. I like big boobs and I cannot lie... Oh. by the way I agree with them and feel the pain of women suppressed under the guise of religion |
Uyi Iredia: Its skeleton ode. Evolution is a failed theory. One thing I've always asked people who believe in creation about evolution is this 1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. 1:30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. So God clearly created all plants and animals and humans herbivores. Why would some animals just choose to develop all the necessary body parts to make them carnivores alone. Then they would reply that Erm... and start abusing and threatening me. Some admit that the animals evolved and evolution started after creation while others say God recreated all the animals and then I asked where they got that knowledge from and we are back to the abuses and threats |
flourishG: @ op, if they're not human beings, who are they then?I tire oh. |
Emusan: if i may ask who do the research, you or whiteYou agree that the bible is a myth and yet you say that the wrath of God is coming soon. OK. what instrument did you use to detect the coming wrath? I'm sure you'll agree that the whole point of God giving people freewill is to exercise their own choices. So why are you threatening people doing God's will? Perform God's will by exercising your freewill to believe in God and leave others to perform God's will by exercising their freewill to not believe in God. I'm saying all this from a point of view you can relate to but let me add that from your logic, then you are also living in bondage of human beings like you because the wrath of God you claim is coming was also told to you by human beings |
nosa gold: The bible is God's word, written by men under the inspiration of the holy spirit. No one knows how God came to exist, and it is none of our business. All we know is that He exists. If the bible is God's word, it seems God just likes to lie, mislead or confuse people. For example, who killed Saul? Saul committed suicide. Therefore Saul took a sword, and fell upon it. So Saul died. 1 Samuel 31:4-6 Then said Saul to his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. So Saul took a sword, and fell upon it. 1 Chronicles 10:4 Saul was killed by an Amalekite. And he [Saul] said unto me, Who art thou? And I answered him, I am an Amalekite. He said unto me again, Stand, I pray thee, upon me, and slay me. So I stood upon him, and slew him. 2 Samuel 1:8-10 Saul was killed by the Philistines. The Philistines had slain Saul. 2 Samuel 21:12 God killed him. 1 Chronicles 10:14 |
