kunleweb:Kindly share a link. |
The money the US Embassy has made from visa applications ehn, it’s too much. They have finally realised that there is nothing we can do. Our citizens will keep “trying their luck” even when they are most likely to be rejected. Nna Forget! When you’re big, you’re big. |
Erediauwa:His LACK of involvement, you mean. He has always stayed away from politics but the truth is, the decisions of politicians will affect everybody. He is doing the right thing now. Nigeria is in a really bad shape. Things need to get better not worse. That is the essence of our education - to improve the human experience. If we cannot improve our lives then we have failed as humans. A reasonable person would speak up against regression and the repression of lives and the systematic cleansing of spiritual beliefs. |
dingbang:If you mean yellow taxis, then I must tell you, Taxi can’t boom nothing. Taxi rides are more expensive than Uber/taxify and are much less comfortable. The day I saw carpenters (laden with tools and machines) order a ride on Uber to a site and back to their workshop I knew the era of yellow taxis was coming to an end. The Uber was a lot cheaper than whatever the yellow taxis would charge. |
This is a dishonest representation of facts. The best time to assess this is on a week day. Tomorrow is Monday. You will understand the draconian nature of this ban. Every society has its upper class and the lower class who service them. There are not enough buses and the roads are bad. Trains are out of the question. Ferries are the most inflexible after airplanes. So the major transport option is road! Yesterday the traffic buildup on Gbagada-Oworonshoki Express way was legendary. Both sides of the express were blocked. And on a weekend! Monday will reveal the real effect of this premature ban. |
musicwriter:Then I hope you are ready for the creation of a new “Igbo” Language that is barely recognisable to present igbos. What you are calling for is a decades-long evolution at the least. There would be so many borrowed English and French words in your language that by the time you’re done, you’d have a potpourri of foreign words forming your creole. Or would you go ahead creating new vocabulary for things that already have globally recognised names? Would you go looking for words to name the different parts of a machine? Heck, you don’t even have names for the things like “space” and “orbit” and “observatory”. How long would that exercise take? How many of your kinsmen would even agree with your new terminologies? The evolution of any language is birthed by necessity - the necessity to name something new. That’s why it is organic. That’s why the English didn’t bother to rename many borrowed words in their vocabulary. They adopted them and moved on. But with a language like yours that is not as developed, you would end up with yet another pidgin. It would water down your language. The very thing you do not want. Your culture can be preserved without alienating yourself from the rest of world. Think. Why reinvent the wheel? |

She had plans with 4 men! Why didn’t you kick the höe out immediately. Now you’re in trouble. Höe marries foöl. What a marriage! |
As a guy I would tell you the fact. Forget NL women. They won’t say it as it is. Actually you are correct. Most men do not invest love in their extramarital affairs. It’s just for companionship and nacking. Women who cheat are a different issue entirely. |
OlawaleBammie:Brotherly

MikeBetty:More than who? ![]() You see? You are a joke. You have no idea who I am but you think you’ve travelled more than I? Your words reveal your lack of polish. Like I said, learn from cultures wherever you go. Don’t continue to be a disgrace, with your clannish nonsense. This world is big and diverse. Don’t be ignorant. |
MikeBetty:Honestly, you should travel more and absorb cultures and appreciate diversity so you can stop reasoning like a cave man. |
I’m not in support of flogging in general. Frustrated teachers may end up brutalising those children. But one thing is certain. You need to communicate in English at school. Speak your dialect at home. This rule should be compulsory in all states except Lagos, Rivers, Plateau, FCT Abuja (Not a state though ) and maybe Edo. Why? Cos the other states have preserved the strong influence of their indigenous languages.English is the language of education in most parts of the world. Others are French, German, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, and Spanish. Why did I just say this? Many scientific, business and philosophical standards/concepts were created and first explained in these languages. The languages evolved to accommodate the leaps in technology and civilisation. How many doctors studied medicine in Igbo language or Yoruba? What is the igbo term for cancer or white blood cell? What is the Yoruba word for entropy or thermodynamics. Has anyone studied creative writing in Igbo language or written code in Hausa? Which lawyer has handled a merger and acquisition strictly in Efik? Let’s be real. English is the language of learning. Until you create your indigenous technology and document it in your native language, you must learn how to communicate clearly in English Language or any major language. There is no university in this world that does not expect good language skills from its applicants. If you fail English but pass Yoruba, you will still have to go back to learn that English or French or whatever. Yes, you should preserve your culture but also learn to communicate with the rest of the world at advanced levels. It is too late (or early) to evolve your language to the level of English or Japanese. Your culture has not contributed to the advancement of technology, science, business, education or economics. Sorry. |
goodnessme1:Imagine someone who thinks she’s a Christian. Lol. You are deceiving yourself. Christianity and bigotry don’t mix. |
Lol. Don’t assume they are single to stupor o. They are always out and about. |
zed7: I don’t think you understood me. |
zed7:Lol. You have given them the license to cheat. |
You face your job to keep your mind busy during the day. Then endure the hurt at night. Friends will help. But if your partner has somehow isolated you from your friends, then you are in deep shît. You go suffer well well. |
Many ladies prefer ruffians. Leave her alone. |
Blindersoff:Now I’m certain you don’t really know what 120 billion naira is. Besides, I don’t need to be the consultant QS to know that this is crazily inflated. |
Blindersoff:So that’s the scope but this is nowhere near that cost. 120 billion! |
120 billion for this? They can’t tell me they used the bulk of that money to settle the community boys. 120 billion! No wonder Julius Berger and others refuse to leave a third world country like ours. They just whip up contract sums and pad them well well for ogas at the top! 120 billion! Wtf! |
Lol. What is your problem guy? Even your mother is tired of your lack of babe. Better ask MrCork for help. He is Nairaland’s top playa (real talk) ![]() I hear he is controlling like 2 babes here. |
LionTiger: ![]() You don’t know Mr Cork. |
Female corpers are far from innocent. Many of them think the remote PPA posting gives them the opportunity to fulfil their wildest dreams. Imagine deceiving and forcing her old self on the small boy. Nairaland feminazis won’t come to berate their member now. |
byinks:A pity that BRT can not reach the inner crannies that okada and keke navigate. |
The people I pity the most are those who don’t have cars, living far away from work. And of course those who’s job involves going to markets to source materials while juggling meetings. Na dem go enter the real gbege. |
She doesn’t even feel remorse. What is wrong with this woman? Please! What is wrong with you? If you’re not careful, pant go comot for your yansh. Next thing, you would have gone too far. Then you’d be begging for forgiveness even though your heart is no longer in the union. You just want to ruin your husband. Better give yourself brain. I can see that our resident Feminazis have avoided this thread. |
Premiumwriter: I tire for them. Blacks suffer special racism from these African Arabs, especially Libyans. |
At one point I thought you were egotistical, and some other point I identified low self esteem and insecurity, especially when you took pride in the fact that other guys also want her and you noticed “beef” in their eyes. What a weird thing to be pleased about. Why would you be so overjoyed that a girl wants to be with a dark guy like you? What’s wrong with the colour of your skin? Then you ended it with a wish to “stop her” You know what? If you don’t want to be the boyfriend of a strippér, leave her alone. It’s as simple as that.
|
rexchazy:Egyptians do no consider themselves African. They resent the fact they share a continent with us dark skin people. |
Moment of half truths, more like. A struggling relationship where the woman is still interested, would endure. The man can be made to see reason. A struggling relationship where the man is the one still interested, is as good as dead. Why? Once a woman wants out, she wants out. No time to reason things out. They work by the unreliable factor called emotions. If she endures, check very well, there is a tangible incentive that is unrelated to love or loyalty. Once a man cheats, there is hope that he wouldn’t go too far with the other woman, unless his wife has made life unbearable and he is looking for a breath of fresh air. However, if your wife cheats, forget it, she’s gone. They immerse their souls into the betrayal so much that even if they stay on in the marriage, it is as good as dead. That is why men are advised to let a cheating woman go. She has given her heart to someone else and that’s that. |
