I got your point but Dino has no wealth just like most members of the political class. Their loot won't last them 2 years if they have no access to the till and mediocre allowance or bogus retirement package. Do you see how former governors rush to the senate. These are the most unproductive set of people on earth. They are of no value to Nigerians. They deserve to be fed with meals laced with rat poison, and then have their corpses cremated and the ash flushed down the toilet. We do not want them have the luxury of spaces in the cemetries.

Dino is hoping to continue to hide until after election day wishing his corrupt candidate win the presidential election. Or does he plan to hide until May 29? And what happen if AAC's Sowore win the election. Dino, you better go build a bunker in olumo rock because the unexpected could happen. Your hiding could continue for a lifetime.

See the parents of Lagosians including all Igbos living in Lagos
As a Lagosian that is currently resident elsewhere I used to think this can never happen in Lagos. It's a shame that just one person, an agbero for that matter can hold over 20 million people to ransom. It's just a reflection of how bad the situation is in Nigeria. People have no conviction but generally worship money. But for an incumbent governor to fall apart like that is another level of shame. I could remember that Fashola put up some fight which got him a 2nd term. All in all, they are birds of same feather. I would rather have a PDP governor without a godfather in charge in Lagos State than have a toothless governor with a godfather in charge. Most of the developments in Lagos the APC shout about is a ruse. The hatchet man that handles the dirty media tasks is Tunji Bello, current secrtary of State Govt. Don't you observe he has been in one key positions or another since Tinubu days as governor. He is one of the "eyes" that Tinubu left behind. He used to be a media person back in the days. Anyway, there are 45 days between now and Feb. 16. The messengers of Life and Death still have 3,888,000 seconds to pay a visit to members of Nigerian political class who knowingly rob the people of their Lives and those among them who put effort in giving the masses some Life.

Ambode didn’t out shine fashola. He did work bt focused on only one area of development. He left a dirty Lagos due to unnecessary beef, left inner roads in the worst state ever seen b4. He was also reactive than pro active nonetheless he always responded to the the pleas of Lagosians except where he had his so-called beefs/contentions and that was where his under performance showed and hit him badly.
Your comment is very objective. How I wish many Nigerians reason this way. But what about those roads, over 100, he constructed. And I am aware he did 100 roads multiple times, and not just once.

Building a magnificent transport exchange at the heart of oshodi. Looks like a wonderful world class project right?

Rubbish! The idea of a transport exchange would work were things are a little more organised: rail system, organised transport system etc. Trust me, 3yrs from now, that magnificent place will be occupied by oshodi touts. They will have self contained accommodation there, allocate rooms and space to themselves with the kingpins at the choicest spots. It will be a cool stuff to smoke weed and a joint to run to when the bag of an innocent passerby is snatched.
Very contradictory comment. You said it would work if it were in a more organized system. Now, ask yourself "what's the purposes of the project". I am sure that having a more organized transport system is one of the reasons. Are there other complimentary projects going on as well? I know there is a train project, and other transport related projects. So, how do you build an organized system? By doing nothing but distributing money or petty projects to party members?

Christianity Etc › Re: 10 Reasons Why Winners Chapel Is 'Dangerously' Wealthy by ajl: 4:05pm On Dec 30, 2018
HigherEd:
In this new series @voiceofthechurch profiles the wealth of Nigerian christian ministries. The Nigerian Catholic church, RCCG, Christ embassy and Winners chapel hold tremendous amount of wealth which is not unusual considering their extensive international reach.

One of the major strengths of the Nigerian indigenous churches was their ability to proliferate successfully in foreign nations, this particularly ensured that they were immune to Nigerian economic woes as they continue to receive millions of USD and other currencies from their foreign stations. The internationalisation of these churches has ensured that Nigerian churches continued to boom in the worst of recession in any country it occupies.

Today we start by profiling one of the most successful Christian ministries founded four decades ago by Bishop Oyedepo.

10 REASONS WHY WINNERS CHAPEL IS DANGEROUSLY WEALTHY

1) In 2016 Winners Chapel had over #150 billion naira expenditure. Considering Ogun state makes about 75 billion a year on Igr then it is debatable that Winners is wealthier than Ogun state.
CAVEAT: It is unclear whether the total expenditure includes or excludes expenditures of subset organizations of the church e.g universities and secondary schools.
b. It is unclear whether this figure represents the totality of headquarter's expenditure or merely a summation of individual branch expenditure. If latter is correct then each branch of the winners chapel is spending 25 million naira/annum.

2) Winners Chapel holds about 30 - 40 Billion naira in financial reserves. This is more than a cummulative of Ekiti's Igr for the next 10 years.

3) The Church has an estimated 12,000 pastors on payroll operating its 6000 church network. In comparison the global total number of clerics in Winners equal the 10,000 United Bank Of Africa(UBA) staff strength.

4) The Church tithes a 10thof her income to another Nigerian church.

5) In 2016 the Church spent 10-12 Billion naira on Educational facilities which included a 5 billion naira Research center, its 22nd Secondary school in Delta worth 700 million naira and a befitting Post Graduate residence for Covenant University.

6) In 2018 the church completed a #1 billion naira stadium in its Canaanland campus Ota.

7) The church currently holds a federal govt backed licence to build a private airstrip in Ota.

cool The Church's hangar reportedly can conveniently hold six private jets. However the church maintains one jet for now.

9) In the last decade the church has acquired over 24 villages translating to #8000 hectares to build a new city of 15,000 houses which would be the second biggest in the world.

10) Winners currently pays #300 million/annum to subscribe its universities to global data analytics services, which gives its universities far more edge than other universities in the country.

This is a business conglomerate, not a church or religious group. A church would be talking about food banks, orphanages, community health care centers. I actually have a visiting faculty position in their university but these folks are shady. They want me to use my own money to pay for airfare. And I wasn't sure of the university because of the way their students are treated like high school students. That's not a university. Rather than remove my name from their website for the last 5 years they fail to do that because it's add value to their scholarly reputation.

How about those Nigerians that decided to travel to Europe via the Sahara desert and Mediterranean sea. What do you call that? These are the kind of people Nigeria should be sending to moon.

I used to reason the same way but when I remember this class of super-adventurous Nigerians I finally agreed that every society has some except that circumstances would shape the type of adventure one takes. The only drawback on our side is that most Nigerians would not take on adventurous risk without a monetary or material gain.

Bro. No be the 38k be the issue cos some hotels in Abuja pay above that....but the challenge here is safety... both the customers and the staff are not safe
I paid N39k per night for a 3-star hotel in Lagos. And that was sometime in 2009, almost 10 years ago. Every thing is overpriced in Nigeria, even when it's obvious the quality is low. I used a Freelancing site to hire Freelancers. While an average Freelancer charges $20 per hour, I saw some newbie Freelancers from Nigeria stating above $50 per hour. I just laugh, because I know many of these freelancers can't compete with foreign ones because they don't even have access to enough electricity to complete the task.

If this is in Nigeria, the cost per night would be 5 times the N38k, even though the quality of the accomodation will be below standard, and you may not be too sure you wouldn't end up as lunch for the lions because a contractor failed to fully secure the window and barricade that separate the lions and occupants in the building even though contractor was fully paid.

He may have sought shelter somewhere else because of cold....was he homeless before or whathuh something isn't right here..
Let me relate my experience to you cause I did my grad studies in Canada, but not Regina. For foreign students, most especially Nigerian students who are not used to planning their daily activities around weather conditions, it's possible to be caught unaware. During my first semester, I once decided to work late in the lab and by the time I was done, I stepped out to realize that there was a storm. Meaning extreme snow and wind conditions. During this kind of period, there won't be public transport on the road. In fact the entire city would be shut-down except for city trucks spreading salts on the road and trucks clearing snow off the road. I was lucky because I lived in a student hostel. For someone who went far from his or her abode, it could be very fatal as there won't a way to get to where you live. So, it's common in Canada to die from frostbite if you found yourself on the street during sub-zero weather condition. A -20 C temperature is no joke. One can easily freeze to death. I have experienced -30 and -40 C winter conditions before. In such extreme conditions, one can freeze to death easily without prolonged exposure. Even under this type of condition you may need to jump-start your car or have it plugged in power socket overnight for the engine to start.

But there shouldn't even be any comparison between Ronaldo and Messi, one should be able to tell the difference between black and white , it's obvious Messi is far better overall , Ronaldo is just a scorer.
