The only thing I don't understand is why EFCC is more interested in media trial of Metuh than convicting him in court

If Metuh has done anything wrong then so has jaffaru isa

Why is he not in jail

"Cooperation" is not immunity
I guess the Federal High Court where he was brought in handcuffs belongs to Guardian newspapers and the court that granted him N300mln bail is owned by Channels TV.

All this media trial sef!

The refinery is being funded by CBN,is like a ppuplic private partnership (ppp)..
Dangote is like just a co owner ..
Lagos is already congested & virtually all the crude oil tht will be refined there will be from ss.
so y not locate the refinery in the ss & save the cost of bringing crude down to refine in sw.
moreover, the ss needs the presence of tht refinery more than lagos coz ss tht has dis oil is still backward in terms of developement coz their God given resources is shared among states tht have little or no contribution they make to federal cofers,,,
Why not ask that all the chocolate factories in Switzerland should have been located in the South West of Nigeria or Cote d'Ivoire?

It is this kind of thinking that has stunted our development, we take the easy way out and not ponder on what we really want to achieve. We complain of the menace of Tankers on our roads yet want all refineries only in one part of the country. Have you thought of the possible impact on the roads due to this alone? Is PMS or diesel only used in the areas where crude is found?

FYI, a refinery in the US, flies in crude just to refine for its local catchment area. Refinery is a business and so long as the investor can make money, he should be free to site his refinery anywhere in the country.

Not sir. It doesn't go that way. That's why I said if you were dasuki.

You cannot keep putting a narrative out there and stop the victim of any opportunity to give a counter narrative. It's unfair.

What if he's not convicted. You really don't know what's happening with the media. It's obvious
What I have been trying to tell you is simple: A closed trial DOES NOT mean he is guilty! It does not imply he won't have his own lawyers, it doesn't imply he won't have his say!

It only means whatever is said will not be heard directly by the public but could be released later!

If he is not convicted, the media would definitely announce it with glee that Dasuki was found not guilty. Whether closed or open, the verdict will still be made known.

1. Aldrich Amesw tried for espionage against his country! And he did threaten to disclose secret information that would embarrass the govt, however since he pleaded guilty, there was no need for the actual trials.

2. Klaus Fuchs Born was a scientist who leaked secrets and he wasn't tried in open court either as he pleaded guilty. He actually confessed his crime.

So basically, these your examples are not it at all.

These are the ones i can remember. We just did a class on it in my organization. There was two that were very recent. One was a male soldier and another was an FBI agent who used to go to work with a T shirt which read "i am a Russian spy". Bro's, American's aren't stupid. They just won't ask you details of classified documents. All they need to do is prove you had these documents and had intent to sell or give the enemy.

So tell me, where does Nigeria buy it's weapons?
What weapons do our intelligence officers carry?
What sophisticated weapons do we have.

What is this one saying? What you should say is, no "NORMAL" nation tries spies in open court. In normal countries, everyone is tried openly. The only difference is that the accused is not asked sensitive questions relating to National security. Dasuki is accused of fraud. What is sensitive about that? How does that impact National security?
I'd meet you anywhere to buy you dinner, if you can show me any NORMAL nation that tries intelligence officers in open court about national security issues.

A SECRET TRIAL IS ONE OF THE WAYS. Most of Dasuki's interrogation at the DSS was done in the absence of the Media. But someone privy to the details of those interrogations, made it available to the Media.
If the FG wanted things to be kept quiet, the Media wouldn't have had this Much information. And I am sure Dasuki has also said some other things that this government doesn't want us to know about and are very afraid that Dasuki will reveal in an open court.
That is the difference there that you just highlighted!

The govt cannot gag his lawyers or any other person from talking to the press except mandated by law. That law can only come into effect when the Judge approves a Closed Trial.

Without that approval of the law to it being a closed trial, all things are fair game and the govt can't even punish an EFCC operative for leaking the contents of such proceedings.

No nation even tries former spies or intelligence agents in an open court, how much more the head of such agencies. It is the height of stupidity to expect a former NSA to be tried in an open court.

The aim should be that he is well represented by his choice of lawyers.

That Ben Bruce is a Senator and does not understand this fact, is a testament to how much bereft of basic leadership qualities the people that we have saddled with making laws for our country. This pronouncement by him, and that h even chose to broadcast it indicates how lacking in depth he is. SMH

PoliticsRe: What Nigerians Are Saying About Osita Chidoka & The Vacant Senate Seat by Akainzo(m): 10:03pm On Jan 20, 2016
kokai:
Greetings to you Mr. Akainzo.

I would like to educate you summarily about the achievements of Chief Osita Chidoka.

In 2007, he was appointed as the Corps Marshal and Chief Executive of the Federal Road Safety Corps. His leadership of the FRSC led to the transformation of the Corps to a functional Lead Agency in Road Traffic Administration and Safety Management in the country driven by information and communication technology. This transformation had as its visible impact:
I will take this your so called achievements one by one.

kokai:
• A 15% reduction in fatalities from 2007 to 2009 and 28% in 2010;
He achieved the reduction by doing what? What specifically did the FRSC do in these years to reduce fatalities from road accidents? Please share. BTW, what were the actual fatalities number, plus if even the FRSC didn't have a reliable database until 2012 ( as claimed by you! ), how then did they gather the data for the deaths from 2007 to determine that is was decreasing? Bullcrap!

kokai:
• Increase in Fines' Generation from N524,757,951.24 in 2006 to N1.4 Billion in 2010;
Well done! the only part you missed was this: the fine for "driving with a broken headlight" was N500 in 2006 and N3,000 in 2010! So even if you fine less number of people, you can still more than double the revenue generated from fines.

kokai:
• Creation of a reliable Offenders’ Register and data base of drivers and vehicles in the country, leading to ECOWAS adoption of the Nigerian model in the planned Regional Vehicle Administration Information System (RVAIS) by the West African countries and production of Nigeria Road Safety Strategy (NRSS) 2012-2016.
Lie from the pit of hell. Even now that we are using the biometric Drivers License, no unit of FRSC can see if a driver has ever been caught driving under the influence.
BTW, we had the database of Drivers and vehicles since 1999 when the harmonised Drivers License and Car registration was launched. The database might not have been utilised properly but we had it.

kokai:
• Under his leadership, the Federal Road Safety Corps won the prestigious Prince Michael International Road Safety Award in December 2008;
• Moreover, FRSC’s compliance with global best practices led to the certification of the Corps by the Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) which conferred the Quality Management System Certificate (ISO 9001:2008 Certification) on the Corps on 15 April 2013.
Good news!

kokai:
It is also worthy to note that whilst he was the Corps Marshal, he also bagged notable awards such as the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria Merit Award on 27 November 2010, and the Institute of Logistics Management of Nigeria Fellowship Award in July, 2011.

Some of the illustrious awards conferred to Chief Osita Chidoka include:
• The National Productivity Order of Merit Award of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity in October, 2010.
• The Distinguished Alumnus Award for good governance and model on Road Safety by the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Nigeria, Nsukka on 12 November, 2011.
• The Sun and Hallmark Newspapers Public Servant of the year 2012 Awards (Under him, FRSC won Leadership Newspapers Government Agency of the year 2012 award)
I am surprised he didn't pay enough to win the Vanguard Man of the Year award! Nonsense!

kokai:
In recognition of his expertise, he was appointed by Mr. President to head the Transportation Sub Committee of the Presidential Committee on Nigeria’s Centenary. The feat accomplished led to his appointment as the Chairman of the Transport Committee for the World Economic Forum held in May, 2014 in Nigeria.

Furthermore, because of his patriotic disposition to his fatherland, he was conferred with Nigeria’s National Honour of Officer of the Federal Republic, OFR by the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR on 14th November, 2011.
So he was conferred an honour along with Abacha, thieves like Okupe by such a government like GEJ that doesn't understand what merit is and you are here bragging! Was it not the same GEJ that was conferring national honours on army chiefs that were losing a war to the rag tag Boko Haram insurgents. Abeg, come with better things!

kokai:
In conclusion, the people of Obosi recognized Chief Osita Chidoka’s enormous contributions to national and community development and thus invested him with the traditional title of Ike Obosi (Strength of Obosi). He was also made a member of Ndi-Ichie, the highest decision making body of Obosi Traditional Council of Anambra State in May, 2009.

Mr. Akainzo, as a result of your educating needs, I also recommend you read an attached article compiled by my friend "kennybrown55" on the giant achievements reached by Chief Osita Chidoka during his tenure as the Corps Marshal and Chief Executive of Federal Road Safety Corps. (Kindly find the attached article to this post, please)

Chief Osita Chidoka has proven (and will continue to prove) that he is indeed a worthy son of Igboland and Nigeria. I believe that his expertise will add value to the proceedings of the Nigerian Senate.

Thank you.
I am happy his people recognise him, that is quite admirable. However, do not come to start shouting "What he achieved as FRSC boss" because that is where both of us have a divergent of opinions.

Let me just share this to help you, if you do more than 5 transactions from any bank in the US, you will incur charges for subsequent transactions.

In Canada, Most of the banks have the 1st 10 transactions as free, subsequent one will incur charges.

At least, this are the one I know. So clearly, it is not only in Nigeria that customers pay for bank transactions.

To prevent this charges, most people use their Credit Cards and then use one transaction from their bank account to pay it off.

THROWBACK.......

Five AD Governors left office in 2003, Lam Adeshina, Segun Osoba, Adebayo, Akande and Adefarati.
PDP was in power when they left, NO CHARGES OF CORRUPTION was brought against any of them!
In fact, OBJ warned Oyinlola (PDP) to emulate Bisi Akande in accountability and incorruptibility!

Now, PDP was fighting corruption between 2003-2007 but no progressive governor was involved. Alamieyesigha was impeached because of corruption; Wabara was impeached as Senate President because of corruption; Dariye was under fire because of corruption, so ALL THESE GUYS ARE PDP MEMBERS!
Therefore War against Corruption in those era was actually against PDP.

Between 2007 and 2015, the Opposition member that was charged for corruption was no other person than the Opposition Leader himself TINUBU. He was tried in no other Court apart from the one under the direct supervision of the PDP led FG......CCT. He was discharged and Acquitted.

During this time, Ibori was jailed for corruption, he is a PDP man. Bode George was jailed for corruption, also a PDP man, Farouk Lawan was indicted for Corruption with a caught on tape evidence......hmmmm....also a PDP man. The pension thieves, Oransanya scam, the NNPC fraud exposed by Ribadu, Sule Lamido and his thieving sons among others were all corruption cases initiated by the PDP government itself against PDP members.

Why has the PDP not being able to convict opposition members of corruption apart from its members ONLYhuh? War against corruption means war against PDP!!!

Did they challenge their own governments to spread their war on corruption on others? Corruption is not a war fought using federal character, only those who are guilty get punished!!!!

There has been a subtle fight before.....but this time is #WARAGAINSTCORRUPTION.......and mind you #BuhariWillSucceed.

He is to speak in the court. Having been accused of so many issues he is entitled to speak and be heard on the courts and not necessarily to security agencies detaining him. Why has that not happened yet? Why the delay?
Very funny. Even if he is charged to court, he doesn't necessarily have to speak to anybody except if his lawyers want to put him on the stands or the prosecution wants to grill him.

The job of speaking is for his lawyers! His lawyers can speak for him anytime, any day seeing as they have access to him. Whatsoever he wants to tell Nigerians today, he can say it to his lawyers and they would issue a press statement or whatever they want.

The essence is, Dasuki has not being prevented from speaking his mind. He has a freedom of speech, but his freedom of movement is what has been curtailed by being in detention.
