In which country do you see an accused speaking to the nation? Dasuki has lawyers, and he can surely well speak to anybody (personal or media) through them. Or have you heard that he has been denied access to his lawyers?

do you really want me to answer this warped illustration you are giving here? Why not look at it this way, nigeria is a going concern i.e a business that was handed to another to manage with the assets and liabilities clearly stated at the beginning but just under six months, the new manager depletes the assets, increases the liabilities with more debts and puts the entire business in jeopardy by engaging in a needless fight with its suppliers and other business partners(private sector) through its new policies that makes them unable to fulfil their commitment to it while concentrating all its efforts on retrieving bad debts. If you understand this, you would know how much trouble we are in.
You are clearly living in a different world than Nigeria.
Tell me, which of Nigeria's assets were depleted? Oil, Rice, Cement, Cassava or Manufacturing?

Which liabilities were increased? When your preferred person achieved the onerous tag of being the only leader that couldn't save a single dollar ($1) in the 5 years of oil boom, but went ahead to borrow and still loot.

Your brand of insight is worse than that of a man hawking gala on the streets of Lagos.

There is no such money for arms deal. It isnt whether the money belongs to government or not. What they did was to calculate all the money that passed through the NSA's office for his tenure and come out to say it is money for arms. It was a well crafted lie (though not so well crafted for those who ask simple questions). The only money that was recommended for arms was the $300 million returned Abacha loot which NOI clearly explained. The rest are just lies and propaganda
What of the $1Bln Approved by the Senate for buying arms? Was that also part of the Security Vote of the NSA?

By the way, when did the NSA become the Head of an Executive arm that the office was now entitled to Security Votes?

You are just trying to be clever by half, nothing more.

The economy is in doldrums with naira exchanging for 300 naira to the dollar, businessmen groaning under the forex policy of the cbn and many jobs on the line with the unemployment problem still unsolved and made more complicated. Lets call a spade what it is,this govt has left nigeria worse than it met it six months ago.
Hmmm, sometimes people need to look at the facts before they write this kind of stuff.

Let me give you an illustration.
Your father produces 1,000 tubers of yam and price of yam is $100, so he makes a revenue of $100,000. He then retires.
You, his son, now produces 1,500 tubers of yam BUT price of yam is now $30 to make a revenue of $45,000.

Would you believe it if your Uncle says you have left your family worse than your father did? Do answer truthfully!

a) Instilled discipline: Like Really? The FRSC that was as corrupt as anything. One could even get a fake Driver's license right at the FRSC office.
b) Computerised the System: Payment of fines by ATM is NOT a computerisation of FRSC system. The receipt was still being written by hand!
c) Driver re-orientation: Bros, make we just leave this out. At what park? Seat-belts advocacy has been a core delivery of FRSC since inception.
d) Emergencies Equipment in Vehicles: I agree he did a lot of sensitization of this main requirement, it however ended up being a means to raise business for colleagues as FRSC was even trying to say which kits motorists should buy.
e) Plate Number Change: The biggest scam of the last administration, second only to the Job scam. enough said.

If we are to follow the decided case of Darius ishiaku, INEC, PDP vs the APC & Aisha Jummai; Faleke is a goner simply because the Court of Appeal decided that a candidate who never contested in a primary cannot challenge the election of Party's Candidate as he has no locus standi has an interested party.
Dude, you are a lawyer but not a bright one. The crux of the Taraba elections does not affect Faleke and the Kogi elections. Not sure how you can be a lawyer and be using a Court of Appeal decision to override the Supreme Court judgments/precedence. Shows the kind of lawyer that you are.

I'd implore you to do more research to improve your understanding of law. BTW, saying "I am a lawyer" means nothing as it does not validate your position. Note: Every decision of a court, implies one lawyer (the one that lost) was told he misinterpreted the law. So saying "I be lawyer" means nothing as you can be yarning dust!

Was audu elected?
You cannot add to the already existing Nigerian laws on the guise of favouring ones beliefs and inclination.
The late Abubakar Audu was not declared elected by INEC hence the legal corrigidum generated by the failure of the constitution to stipulate provisions on when a candidate dies while leading an Electoral process.

So S181(1) of the constitution does not apply.
Nb: elected is key
Well, the definition of that elected would be determined by the Supreme Court IF Faleke pursues his case up to that level. At believe me, he clearly has a case based on the previous Supreme Court rulings. Let me highlight the basis for you:

1. The Constitution of Nigeria, Section 181 is clear, if both the Governor & Deputy cannot enjoy the spoils of an election, a NEW ELECTION must be done.
2. The SC had previously held that in line with Section 181, ONLY a Deputy Governor candidate can inherit the votes of another candidate.
3. The SC has also previously held that a vote in an election is JOINTLY owned by The Governor, The Deputy and The Party. It averse that the only one transferable is from the Governor to the Deputy.
4. The SC has also previously held that a Supplementary Election is not a new election with a new date, BUT it is deemed to have taken place on the date of the main election.

Therefore if the Supplementary Election held on the main election date, then only Faleke can inherit those votes and no one else. This is even more so as no one on the Main election date voted for Bello in any guise.

Clearly, Faleke going by the judicial precedence of the SC, will surely be declared the valid Governor of Kogi State IF Faleke takes his case to the Supreme Court.

(1) If a person duly elected as Governor dies before taking and subscribing the Oath of Allegiance and oath of office, or is unable for any reason whatsoever to be sworn in, the person elected with him as Deputy governor shall be sworn in as Governor and he shall nominate a new Deputy-Governor who shall be appointed by the Governor with the approval of a simple majority of the House of Assembly of the State.

INEC declared the election inconclusive. - and that's fact cos some LGA's had not voted then.

Conclusive and inconclusive, all na grammer!

Was Audu sworn in before his death? No

Faleke should return to Lagos.
You can debate the grammar all you want, the thing I mentioned is there for you to check. One doesn't have to be sworn in before his post can be inherited by the Deputy.

If the wins an election but dies before being sworn in, the Deputy would automatically inherit the position and would be sworn in. Read Section 181.1 of the Nigerian Constitution.

Mr Faleke I think you need to chill. The constitution states that you become the governor IF YOUR LATE RUNNING MATE WAS DUELY SWORN IN AS THE GOVERNOR. But that isn't the case for you. So dear come back next year you never know, you just might get lucky.

Quote me and lose a tooth. Yes!
Unfortunately, your assertion is quite wrong! Audu doesn't have to be sworn in for Faleke to take over the Governorship seat.

The constitution recognises Faleke as the Governor-elect IF he (Faleke) can prove that the elections was conclusive as the the date of the initial election.

But you are wrong. I am a doctor and I work in the Nigerian system. Let me give you a story.
Some time ago I delivered a pre-term baby that is a baby born at 24 weeks . Immediately after birth the baby stopped breathing. The hospital I worked with didn't have oxygen and the two incubators where in use. I used my own oxygen cylinder on the baby and did ambubagged that is cardiac massage in the baby for it to breath normally. We entered my car and rushed to LASUTH. We were told no bed space and were referred to LUTH. We drove to LUTH, parked at the car park and walked over a 7 minutes to the pediatric ward where we were told they had no free incubator and had no electricity supply. We were referred to a private hospital in Surulere where the consultant was not around. We decided to go back to our hospital to continue care for the baby. Please note that all this time I was doing cardiac massage on this baby while someone else drove. On our way back to the hospital, the oxygen finished, the baby turned blue and died. We got back to the hospital and the husband beat me up for not saving the baby. This happened 4 years ago ; till date I have not received a dime for what I did. This is what happens everyday.
Bros, are you saying you carry your own personal Oxygen bottle around at work? Haba!

Has anyone disputed the fact that this exercise the govt is about to carry out has to do with the harmonisation of data?
No! Nobody has a problem with that, least of all me! shocked

The only area of concern to me, was their need to now issue unique identification numbers after the exercise. That was what aroused my interest, and I made my contributions in that regard. undecided Is that an offence?

A few people responded to those comments, and I clarified issues which they did not feel comfortable with. That is what this kind of thread is meant for. You are the one that still keeps finding fault with my responses, despite all I have stated here.

There was no place, where I criticised the harmonisation of the databases. All I took an exception to, was the issuance of new unique identification numbers. Why does that upset you so much? Are you saying it should have been swept under the carpet? huh
The unique identifier to be issued can be:
1. The National Identification Number.
2. The Format for the National Drivers License
3. A new numbering/identifier format.

Once you harmonise, which thankfully you agree is laudable, you can either choose an existing primary key or develop a new one based on harmonised needs. However, NOTHING in that write-up states that they were going to issue a new one. That is the part you have failed to comprehend.

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. You should educate yourself properly before jumping to conclusions. You read the first paragraph, but didn't read the last one.

Obviously you omitted this part where he said: "......all the agencies that are in charge of capturing biometrics are expected to aggregate all the data bases and subsequently give every Nigerian and legally resident persons a unique identification.
The director general said such unique identification number would allow every person to have a single identity and can be easily traced.
“The number will also make it easy for government to reach the citizen with certain benefits that would soon be provided.

“Through the identification number, everyone will get his/her own share’’, Aziz added.

Go back and read it very well, as everyone can now see that you are the one with a thick skull. undecided As for being a consultant, it seems to upset you, that I am one. Why?? I have never worked for govt, and neither do I intend to do so, now or in the nearest future. There is enough work in my field to keep me happy. And no, I don't need to be paid to make my contributions in this thread. I have already made them, but you refused to see them because they didn't fit into your mindset.

My previous comment in that last post was meant to be sarcastic, but I guess you could not discern it. Enjoy! wink
Bros, stop gallivanting and just learn to read! The statement said "All Nigerians will have a unique identification" , nowhere does it say that "Unique Identification" would be a NEW number or that it wont be derived from the conventions adopted by the National Identity Management System.

Also, even if the process leads to a completely new set of codes for uniquely identifying Nigerians, the main objective would have been achieved, which is to put a stop to multiple registrations (biometric, or not) and adopt a single identifier.
Why it is taking you this very long to comprehend this is truly baffling.

The other day too, an Aunt of mine was complaining of being stressed out, and I suggested she took a day or two off her leave days to rest. She didn't waste time in saying 'No, this is not the time for taking leave' shocked
The fear of losing jobs is real. When companies are not making as much, downsizing begins, and that's what's happening right now.

Someone was giving me an Economic 101 lecture the other day, and he was like it takes a period of about 6 months for the result of mass retrenchment to start showing. That right now, the I million or so Nigerians who have lost their jobs of recent would still be spending as much as they did while they had jobs, because of the savings which they have kept. But months from now, when their savings have run out, and they haven't found new jobs, they would begin to put their scale of preference in order, and cut down costs. When this happens, they would begin to consume less, and as a result, this would affect 'consumer' companies, because people are not buying as much. When people don't buy as much, company profit drops. When Company profits drop, more people are retrenched and investors would find nothing appealing in the country... and the ripple effect will continue.

I don't know... but at the end of the day, I pray for wisdom for those in government, because when they lack direction, the people suffer.
Did that same guy disclose to you how in Economics 101 the length of time that PREVIOUS. Actions or Inactions lead to companies presently sacking those people?

Did he by any chance inform you of any basis under Economics 101, that an economic performance should be Positive when you lose 50% of your revenue?

It amazes me how people can see companies carrying out cost saving measures due to reduced revenues but choose to expect the government not to tighten spending and recover any misappropriated funds. Either those people aren't being sincere or they simply choose to be ostriches.
