Don't confuse the issue, BB has Wifi tethering on some range of phones just like not all Android phones have Wifi tethering.

You my friend need to gather knowledge. Wifi tethering is on BB. "Best" application is a user definition, what is "best" for you is not necessarily "best" for me. Apple has appetite, Android has PlayStore and BlackBerry has AppWorld, all are content stores.
Better battery life? Set your iPhone 4 to pick emails by Push and iMessgae continuously and see if the battery last beyond 5 hours. BB users are almost always pinging while your iPhone/Android is almost always in your pockets. Try doing the continuous stuff like the BB and see the battery life. Usage for usage, the BB has better battery life.
