skyflash: Fools, the money spent by fool who send their kids to Ghana to study were they studying in nigeria b4 GEJ send them to Ghana? The 800 companys that closed were they working b4 GEJ closed them down? And the 30m jobless people were all working b4 GEJ made them jobless nonsense.
OLodo! NO they were not working, they were already closed just that the closure was announced in 2012 shocked :0, By the way, everybody who is in their First year in a Ghana university have renounced their Nigerian citizenship, just so we claim all Nigerians schooling in Ghana were there before GEJ came into power.

While you are it, all the bad roads in Nigeria were like that pre-GEJ, all have not detoriated a single bit since GEJ came into power.

Hmmmm, now that you are saying this, let me ask you this: Was it when GEJ became President that the integrated Power Project that is delivering improved power today started?

If you can say the improved power that was started earlier during OBJ years is his achievement, why are you now trying to distant hin from this one? shocked

ejunkie: I knew you would reference the Naval case. She only won cause Fashola did PR with her case. I am happy he did though, because it benefited a hapless citizen, but that certainly doesn't prove that an average person can challenge the authorities and win.

Fact still remains that there's massive grounds for compassion in the application of the law. If robbers and killers in our nation are going scott free in the face of the law just cause of money an connection...then the state should do right and let her off after her ordeal. Yes, it may sound foreign to you but the law is actually supposed to be compassionate in cases such as this.

After all, if she had money or connection, this wont be happening.
And by which measure would we then decide when to be compassionate and where to apply the letter of the law?

If a man was caught raping your daughter/sister and was beaten up by onlookers, would you tell the police that the man should walk away as he has already been beaten up?
BusinessRe: Nigerians Flock To Buy UK Bargains by Akainzo(m): 5:38pm On Sep 11, 2012
The reality is simple, as long as the cost of production in Nigeria is high, businesses would be forced to undercut quality to survive.
And the middle class would respond by going somewhere else to get the quality they so desired!

You all need to remember that businesses survice mostly on volumes - turnover. If you sell quality product at N15K while the chap down the road sells a lower quality one from a dingy store for N5K, sure you would have some sales but in the long run, when you factor in all your costs, you would be forced to mix some lower quality stuff just for you to survive. Meanwhile, that chap that sells lower quality has a queue of customers. You know why, people know it is of less quality, but that is what they can afford.

Therefore the key in Nigeria is simple: produce and sell at a price where majority can afford it (that throws quality out the window!)

ejunkie: @ Akainzo

As i mentioned earlier the case is debatable.

You failed to address the fact that the State itself announced that the law was not enforceable till September 1. Following this, you cannot retro-actively enforce a law. That in itself voids the application of the law in this case.
I am aware that Fashola stated explicitly on signing the bill that it takes immediate effect. The only way it would take effect at any later time than when signed into law, is if there is a provision in the law itself for a future enforcement. In this case, there was none, thus the law took immediate effect upon being signed into law.

ejunkie: With regards to the traffic offence charge, if the charge cannot be dropped after putting her through such an ordeal, then where is fairness in justice? Where is our humanity?? We might as well apply the law of the Jungle.
If you were OJ Simpson's relative, would you have abandoned the civil case that found him guilty? Does being falsely accused of another charge remove you from the one you actually committed?

ejunkie: You mentioned that she should press charges against the Lastma officials....well, name 1 case where an average memeber of the Nigerian public has pressed charges against public authority and won.
Lets not talk like our heads are in the sand. [/bold]
Yeah, sure I can, do you remember the case of Miss Uzoma Okere , you can read it up here: https://www.nairaland.com/468031/assault-arogundade-navy-lose-appeal

ejunkie: Everyday, people's lives, rights and well being are being violated by the authorities we look to for protection. The only reason why shes not still sleeping in Panti was because of the public outcry and all the eye witness that came forward to refute the Lastma false accusations.

The bottom line is, the woman has been through enough. What the state is now doing is being the worst bully on the block.
Everyday also, people's lives, rights and well being are being violated by ordinary well to do people who take the laws into their hands jsut because they have money and can get away with it. There is no sentiments in this issue, she drove against traffic, that is an offence, both under the old law and the new law. It is therefore surprising that you'd be asking for her to walk free after breakinhg the law while asking for the same government to be stedfast in implementing the laws to protect its citizens.
PoliticsRe: Yinka Johnson Re-arraigned For Reckless Driving by Akainzo(m): 3:41pm On Sep 06, 2012
ejunkie: Ideally, wrong-doers should face the law straight. However this case is far from straight forward.

3. The new law was signed on the 2nd, August but only gazzeted in the last week of August. This incident occured on the 10th. So the law is not applicable because;
3.1 The law can not be applied before it is Gazzeted .
3.2 The state ministry of transport announced the law will commence from September. Here is an article quoting the Deputy Gov. and Attorney General of the state attesting to that fact - http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/08/new-lagos-traffic-law-now-operational/
Many of us gets this mixed up, a law comes into effect in Nigeria WHEN it is signed. A gazzette is just a publication and not an indication of when it comes into effect. For avoidance of doubt, the date a law comes into effect is determined by
a. The date the law is signed by the authority (Governor or President)
b. The effective date of the law as stipulated in the law itself (so long as it is not earlier than the date the law is signed)

Now whichever of this TWO dates is later, is the effective date of the law.

ejunkie:
4. This one way offence is debatable, as that is what the estate residents have to do to cross the road since the construction started. Why didnt Lastma put a warning there for drivers to desist. No, jump in front of the posh looking cars why don't you. (see attached pictures of how drivers drive the one way to cross the road). I am not saying it is right. But if state construction, creates a potential for reckless driving, should the state not provide adequate warnings and signs?
LASTMA need not put a sign there, every licensed driver joining a dual carriageway should know that it is one-directional lane. However, a sign MUST be placed there if due to some extraneous issue the road has to be chnaged to a two-directional lane.

ejunkie:
5. Finally, if the state wants to make an example of everybody, then the state should stop this witch hunt against this woman and start with the Lastma Officials that swore false testimony then we will all know for a fact that the law is being upheld. A woman's reputation has been damaged and she has suffered detention in Panti for days and no one goes unpunished? truly we hail Nigeria. Eko o ni o ti fe' ba'a je'
That she was wrongly accused of murder does not, and should not exonerate her from facing the right charge of breaking the traffic law. It is her perosnal choice to press charges against the LASTMA officials that bore witness against her, if she decides to, it is her discretion but it does not affect her facing the right traffic offence.

If you read my posts very well i didnt condemn the govt for lifting the suspension, i just said its too soon!, you are the one getting high blood pressure over my post!
undecided
As in DANA operates a morgue, they are in charge of the Coroner's office or what? Or that DANA has to sign a release note or what? Don't get too emotional on it, the law about bodies places the burden squarely on government and not a corporate entity. When people die in a Chisco bus, would you say Chisco should be in charge of releasing their bodies?

You said "it is too soon" and castigated those that supported the lifting that they lack empathy, so where are you coming from if not castigating the government for lifting the ban?? How long do you think would be appropriate, One year, Two Years or a decade? How long?

Nah, no high blood pressure here, rather you are lowering it as I am quite amused, and you know, one lives longer once he still learns to have a good laugh.

Subsidize Garri: [color=#770077][i]I am only a humble Garri Lover not a Lawyer but please any Lawyer in the house should please correct me if I am wrong;

The new Lagos bill was signed into law on the 2nd of August 2012

Yinka Johnsons matter occurred on the 10th of August 2012

HOWEVER the new law was gazzetted on Wednesday the 29th of August 2012..

Now, is it legal for her to be tried by a Law that as far as my GARRI SOAKED mind is concerned only came into play on the 29th of August for a crime that occurred way before the law?!

AmBeautiful: My dear i didn't loose anybody!

Am just telling you what is right from wrong!

France, Canada and Nigeria are not on the same level, Nigeria is a third world nation oga.
If this three countries were the same why then are Nigerians running to this country for greener pastures.

And believe me am not sentimental. Because i too love this career.
But please, lets say the truth for all its worth!

Please why not publish the full reports from the investigation here for us to read!

Then help us publish the reports from the victims family and Dana to know the final conclusions from the release of the bodies.
Also help us publish the reports of at least some of the investigations and the checks that the aviation ministry made before finally convinced that this airline is now safe (airworthiness).

My dear relax very well. I get lots of gist from people in the core of aviation and one thing i can tell you is that

NIGERIA'S AVIATION INDUSTRY IS STINKING undecided!
Since you do not know the contents of the report, why do you then believe DANA's license should remain suspended? Since we are third world country, why are we then demanding that our leaders are held to the First World democracy standards? You cannot want to punish a business for being in a Third World country while demanding a First World accountability from your leaders. You've got to stick to one.

The release of the bodies to the family has nothing to do with DANA operations, it is a Lagos State government and regulatory issue. What I see DANA striving to do is pay the appropriate compensation to teh families and also give the needed support.

The Nigerian Public educational system is STINKING, would you ask for the schools to be closed down indefinitely?
TravelRe: FG Lifts Suspension On Dana Air by Akainzo(m): 10:05am On Sep 06, 2012
AmBeautiful: Sincerely, i think that the government was too much in a hurry to lift Dana's suspension!

Many of us supporting the lifting of the ban are doing so, because you didn't loose a loved one in that flight!
If you did you no go talk too much.

I think it is too soon to do this!

Because from all evidence seen, read, and gotten so far all fingers points to Dana as the cause of the crash!

Do you know if all families have collected the bodies of the loved one they lost?
(to me this is the most important thing).

How about the concluding parts of the investigation ? .

Those supporting the lifting how would you feel if you lost someone so dear to you on that flight, you have not recovered the body, you don't even know what happened, only to hear this.

In my opinion, even if business should be done without emotions, wisdom should be applied too. The government should have waited at least till the end of this year and till things have wrapped up a little bit before doing this.
This is corruption at work and am saying this with all BOLDNESS and without any EMOTIONAL SENTIMENTS!

It is too soon TO HAVE LIFTED THE SUSPENSION ON DANA!
How long was it before Air France resumed operations after the Concorde disaster? How long was it after the crash in Toronto before Air Canada resumed operations?

Just as you have highlighted, you are making an emotional response to something while accusing others of making the same emotional response, you want the ban elongated because you lost somoene while accusing others of supporting the quick resumption because they didn't lose anybody. Thus both you and them are operating from the same plane.

However, a rational response is what has happened. An investigation has not found DANA Airlines operations to be the core cntribution to the accident and thus the license was rightly lifted.

It smacks of disingenuity for you to want to say Abuja, Lagos, Kaduna and probably Rivers states represents the entire Nigeria, that is falsehood at its highest. I spent about 6 years in Kaduna and I never had a generator, but that didn't fool me to think there was uninterrupted power supply across Nigeria. I merely noted that I had steady power where I was residing while vast majority of Nigerians do not. Whenever I get back to Lagos, I always face the realisation that Nigeria is quite vast and many are not in the same situation.

So do not assume that since it has improved in your area, it has improved across Nigeria. There are still communities without power in Nigeria you know!

Seeing as you say GEJ has not spent money on power during his administration, where then has this improvement come from? Did it magically appear, or is it as a result of an investment earlier done by someone else?

For GEJ to be praised then, you need to highlight WHAT EXACTLY Goodluck has done differently that deserves commendation. I would be happy to read from you.

It just said there is improvement. Some are celebrating here because people are beginning to feel and believe some people like you don't want GEJ so succeed. That's the real problem
And your report is right, just because YOU have light for 5 days!!! You must be smoking something.

Just so you know, I have not put on a generator since December 2011, yes I repeat, I have not put on a generator since December 2011. Now it is not because PHCN has improved in providing power to my house, but rather it is due to my investment in other sources of generating and providing backup power. I have also adjusted my energy needs to ensure I maximise my energy store.

However, I cannot say the same for people that surround me, I cannot run away from the noise pollution from their generating sets. Simpletons like you, might hear that I have not put on a gen all these months and want to go off on a handle.

I do want GEJ to succeed, as his success can only impact me positively, however, stuttering is suiccess for a 1 year old child but it is failure for a teenager. This increase is just due to improved water level at the hydro-palnts and increased gas to the turbines. WHat happens when the rains stop? What happens when Shell declares a force-majeur?

a. Stop keeping the situation to yourself, talk with him, let him know you desire him and you'd want the sex to be good for both of you.
b. Take control of the situation, learn new tricks in the bed ( he won't hump for instance while his stuff is in your hands/mouth.
c. Help the situation, bring along some lubricants. There are many in the markets, get one and keep it handy.
d. Again, learn tricks of where you can be in control of the thrusts, that way you decide how much you take.

Yes, many electuons have been adjudeged ad rigged in Nigeria and 99% of them were won by PDP candidates, should there not a popular opinion of PDP always rigging? Can you compare the total number of PDP victories that have been upturned to the number of those won by opposition that were upturned?

iykescream: Arsenal is not a club(no offence to arsenal fans),it is a business empire.it has a policy n priority-not trophies, but profit.it is not a top club, but a top 4 club.it is obvious that arsenal priorities n that of RVP do not allign,so it is only wise that there shud b a partting of ways.such is life.it is only a mad man that keeps doin d same thing(in this case 4 8yrs)n xpects a diff result.players come n go,club still dey,so arsenal fans dont get workd up over players leavin.if u had wat they wanted they wud not go.pray it does not get 2 a point wen u cannot attract competitive players
The only thing that has changed in those 8 years is this: RVP played a full season without injury shocked shocked shocked

Why wasn't he making this much noise 3 years back when he was spending 8 months in a year on the treatment table? Now that his food is done, he wants to be making shakara. Not to worry, Flamini did the same thing after one good season out of 6, we all know how it ended.

innoachukw: We r both sayin dsame tin, I lik downloading, mainly tru torrent! Bt I don't tink BB has a torrent downloading software, and even if it does, it won't b free and even if I'm willin 2 pay 4 it, d payment method won't b easy.....dat is d major area dat am havin problem wit BB, becus am very sure 1 can get such app (torrent app) on android platform....(Hacked apps)....
There are no native torrent clients becuase of the same security reasons that BB is known for. However there are ways to go about it, search very well and you would discover them.

innoachukw: For 1, android & iphone has way more apps dan BB,secondly, BB isn't developers (hackers) friendly...it seems everytin abt BB is original onlike d custom OS we get wit other platforms.
Now you are at it, having more apps is NOT a feature! All of them have their applications market, just that one has more apps in it than the others.
However, note that having 250 File Managers does not make you any better than a platform that has just 10 quality File Managers - all, 250 or 10, achieve the same thing - managing files.
Everyone agrees, the security inherent in the BlackBerry is the reason it is the device of choice for CEOs and also the President of USA.

So back to my question, which features are in Android or IOS that is not in BlackBerry?
