I use MTN and I hv downloaded way more dan 2GB, d download speed dat I get where I stay averages 200KBps & I use an ordinary bold 2....

I'm 1 of d few wise pple in Nigeria dat actually bought a BB not 4 show off nor pinging, bt 4 its unlimited data plan......so if u r amongst d other majority dat bought a BB just 2 belong, u r definitely under utilizing ur BB and will soon enuf dispose of d phone....I rest my case...

Thanks for stating your personal reasons for buying the BB, could you however share the features that the Android or iPhone has that the BB does not have?

Also, make no mistake, more than half of iPhones in NIgeria are also not brand new, so it cuts across all brands.

But if you look at the bigger picture, the BlackBerry subscriber base still increased worldwide despite shrinking/collapsing sales in US. Thus it means outside of the US, the BlackBerry is still a strong brand for consumers.

Yes WhatsApp works on BB, it's a cross platform IM client.
However on anything other than on a BB, you go through 1500 in about a week chatting with 30 grinds daily. While on the BB, it is unlimited BBM grinds, unlimited WhatsApp, unlimited YouTube all at the conservative minimum cost of 1500 for a month!

Basic: Stop deceiving yourself, the plan is not unlimited. It is just 1GB. Most people erroneously think it is unlimited because they do not get to exhaust their 1GB within 30 days. Try downloading 2-3 high quality full length films and you'll see it's not "unlimited".

Even if not unlimited, how much did you pay for the same 1GB of data on the Android? How much did you pay for the same one month full data experience on Android?

If I don't ever get to exhaust my allowance every month, then it's easy for me to think of it as Unlimited, however every Android user knows it how much a Kb cost as every action, every click incurs a charge. For the present Nigerians environment, the BlackBerry delivers the best value for money.

None of those situations includes amending an existing law validly passed by the legislature of the Federal Republic of Nigeria! I thought marriage is a shared effort between two parties. You share the joy, the difficulties, the happiness and thorns that comes along with it, but i was dead wrong yesterday. My fiance and I had a deep talk yesterday about possible challenges we were likely to encounter if we ended up married. After drawing up a lsit of those challenges, I felt like I could work round those challenges, however the only one i could not accept is his claim that he will not assist me financially should I have any financial issues in future.

I was surprised at this and asked if he was serious. First, I rarely ever ask him for money even when I get broke occasionally like everyone else, but how can I be married or even have a fiance that wont support me financially? For God sake, I am not an island that breeds and survives on its own. I am a normal human being like everyone else. My fiance stood his ground in spite of all these points I made and said "nope, I aint doing that."

What even hurts is the fact that he helps his friends and family out financially when they are down. So why should my case be different? I have come to realise that the reason for this might be tied to the fact that I am successful. He is sees it foolish to be there for me if am broke and to cap it all, he expects me to take care of our needs financially at home when we get married. We once made plans to save up for a car, but he stopped paying and told me that I should buy the car myself. According to him, the reason why he stopped paying was because I own a buisness while he is a salary earner. Is it crime to be successful?

I feel so sad, disgusted and realise that I can't go ahead and marry him. If I have to feel single while being married? What is the use of getting married in the first place If i cant count on my partner to be there for me. I don't think it is all about exchanging sweet words. Mere words are of no use to me. I receive sweet words everyday, so its no big deal. I have female friends and we assist each other sometimes, because everyday is not Christmas and sad situations happen that could make one go broke. I have worked myself hard for years, and I wont add to my workload after marriage. It is not worth it. Nah.....too much liability.

Anyway, this morning I told him I needed a break. I think we both need the break to think things through. We need to find out if we are suitable for each other or not. As far as I can see, I don't think so. Not any more. I thank God, he told me this on time before I took such a huge step as marriage. Contrary to popular belief, you can ACTUALLY jump start a car equipped with an Automatic Gear shift System!

It however needs for you to meet some almost impossible feat. That guy that claimed 5m/h is very much wrong, you would need a minimum of 40km/h speed before an automatic car can start from its gears. If this speed seems impossible, also think of the fact that most automatic would have their brakes almost irresponsive when the engine is off. Thus you need an almost straight road and the build of a horse, or get a steep slope to do it on.

For the records, I have actually jump started an automatic before while on a journey to Kaduna.

However, in the current political climate, it will be almost impossible to get the votes needed in the Senate because of the Senate being controlled by PDP. The House might get the needed votes but the House alone cannot override a presidential veto.

This is one of the check and balances built into the constitution – supermajority (two-thirds majority).

Executive + two-thirds of Senate or House = whatever they want OR
two-thirds of Senate AND two-thirds of House = whatever they want

In the end, the name change will probably stand if the President wants.

The Presidential veto only comes into play when the President DISAGREES WITH A BILL PASSED BY THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY!!! - The President cannot veto a bill that is NOT passed by the NA, neither can he force a law to be if the NA assembly does not pass such a law.

The correct use for a VETO and an override is as below:
i. The NA passes a bill and sends to the President for assent.
ii. The President disagrees and thus vetoes the bill by NOT SIGNING it.
iii. If the NA agrees, then the bill is dead.
iv. If the NA feels strongly about the bill, then a joint sitting of both House of the NA is convened AFTER 90 days, a two-thirds majority of the members can now overturn the President's veto by passing the bill into law.

Please read the constitution or get people to explain it to you before you post such stuff as above of a President vetoing a law into existence.

A VETO is to put a stop to what is proposed, it cannot make what is not proposed happen. So once both houses of the NA cannot pass that amendment bill, then the renaming is dead in the water. Please grab a copy of the constitution to read and learn.
