My friend, please learn to digest the content of a report and the context of it before you get misled. What this report indicates is that Adamu is a better politician that the Presidency and knows how to position himself to influence the outocme of elections. The good news is that he is a Nigerian and the Presidency and the Ministry of Sports could learn a little form him on managing people tp achieve your aim, or working through others.!

Also, NFF as an organisation is not made up of the EXCO alone. They have staff you know, and if Adamu floods that place with his relatives, they are not members of the EXCO that take decisions. My reference to the NFF board being nominated by government does not include staff of the place. Please learn to reason rationally.

I truly cant believe that you wrote that while pretending to be educated and informed. Finding evidences of impropriety is the primary job of the EFCC. If you don't know this, then you have no business discussing about corruption. Note also, that the FIFA statutes does not bar a nation from investigating its officers, so being accused of corruption is not viewed by FIFA as interference.

To your post contents: Government interference is the reason why NFF is corrupt! The nominees that run sport and being elected to NFF are all nominated by the government, either through the sports ministry or the state associations. Thus the corrupt NFF is a reflection of the corrupt government.

So in your opinion, the best way to get rid of a certain trio, was to rubbish the image of the country. To send the signals that our leaders do no think of consequences of their actions, or to portray the President as lacking depth of thoughts. Me and my friends over a round of drinks would have advised the President better and the same trio would be out in a jiffy.
BTW, you insult the Office of the President when you imply that that office can not influence a committee of 13 persons without recourse to comedy.

For your information, the NFF makes more money from FIFA than most companies in the country. In a typical year, the NFF gets more than $2M from FIFA, then add the sponsorship money and appearance fees. Then you'd know that it can actually be independent.

The question to ask is, can the Nigerian government accept a truly independent FA?

What if Lulu and co are smart enough to cover their tracks? you forget the EFCC will have to come up with good enough evidence able to stand scrutiny in a court of law. Talking about influencing the board to impeach Lulu?  what exactly does that mean? Before Isa Bio led a delegation of PTF members to intimate FIFA about their plans to reform Nigerian football, they already consulted Lulu and told him the position of Government but the man refused to give way. Government had no choice but to play its last card which is to remind NFF that for whatever relationship you have with FIFA we have the power to determine what organisations that can exist within the shores of our country.
With the danger of withdrawing from football for two years and attracting more FIFA sanctions, pressure has come down on the remaining board members by default to act otherwise they will even have no chance to lobby to save their jobs. The 2years withdrawal was real, I expected to last for about 6 months before Government reverts itself after the necesssary changes would have been made.

Good news the withdrawal has already achieved results within days. All the remaining board members of NFF now have no choice but to fall in line. The next NFF board will now be determined by PTF.

First if there is no evidence that Sani Lulu embezzled or mismanaged funds, then there is no issue and the interference is not warranted - Hope you understand this basic premise.
If however, he has done or caused to be done some unsavoury things, then the relevant agencies should be able to get the evidences out. An analogy is simple, no matter how much you believe someone stole your money, he cannot be convicted without evidences!

Working under the premise that Sani Lulu and co have committed grave misconduct, here are other options open to him that would have not caused either him or the country this kind of embarrassment.

1. Get EFCC or even the police to present the evidences to a magistrate and get an order against them, they could even be remanded in prison while asking for bail. Note FIFA statutes does not prevent a sovereign state from investigating, prosecuting or sentencing an FA official.
2. Lean on the other members of the board with these evidences to get the trio impeached.
3. Present the evidences of mismanagement to FIFA and then move using national instruments against the affected people.
4. For the August elections, the NFF constitution has provisions for postponement. Also nothing says an elected official can not be removed later. Abi dem no dey change governor, so long as it is within the provisions of the law.

So my friend there are better ways to handle national matters than go washing your linen in public and throwing your hands up in the air. So when PHCN does not meet it's 6000MW target, he would shit down all power stations in Nigeria to enable us rebuild? Haba!

The good thing is that he has accepted his folly and changed his mind. Good thinking.

My guy at large, you need to read more and understand a rule before you interpret it upside down the way you have just done above. Note that there is a difference between interfering with the running of football and dealing with the players.
When North Korea supposedly lashes her players, that is not interference as it has no bearing on the running of football. It only makes it harder for North Korea to get good players.

The rule against taking off your shirt is not because of female players, as FIFA does not say that you should take off your shirt when you score. How to celebrate a goal is the discretion of the player and cannot be legislated against. However, to be politically correct, accommodate many cultures and protect the young kids that watch football, the rule is there to ensure decency. While some ladies might find the bare torso of Beckham enchanting, to some it is offensive.
Also, the law ensures that the undershirt is not used as a political platform and it is a fallout of the FIFA statutes which prohibits government interference with football.

Football is a sport and should be played without political or religious considerations, allowing government interference would spoil the fun and prevent an open minded spirit to the game. And it is for the whole world and not just the 3rd world countries alone.

ALl you need do is plan an outing with him, sit him down and explain to him that though you find him interesting and fun to be with, and you probably would have enjoyed a relationship with him. Football is a contact sports and should be judged as such. Yes, I acknowledge that with the benefit of hindsight, I'd ask Kaka why he just didn't step away, but that does not imply that he committed an offense. If you watch football, you'd know that defenders are not expected to relinquish their positions simply because an attacker wants that space.

The card is NOT deserved, and now CIV have lost their ally as there is no way Brazil would do them any favours in their match against Portugal.

See the bold parts, that is the execution of the amendments to the marriage act during the IBB years. It now streamlines ALL the certificates issued by the 3 types of marriages recognized under the Marriage Act of Nigeria.
In your cousin's case, either both or one party has been smart enough to ensure that the document is signed by a Registrar and not the Rev father or Pastor as there are different implications depending on who signed it.

What smart people now do is go through the Registry process but not date/sign the paper until their white wedding, and the get the Registrar to sign it! Ensuring that both bases are covered.

Have you seen the Registrar of the High Court before? You'd notice that he is definitely not a lawyer nor a barrister but a plain old civil servant just like the same people you see in the Government Registry.

For your information, my great-grandfather married my great-grandmother under the Yoruba (Ijebu) traditions. And I am sure his own forefathers married under the same traditions as well. What you called wine-carrying is what obtains in the Ibo culture and that is the traditional wedding for Ibos. The Yorubas have a different tradition and that is what you would see if you ever get to attend a Yoruba traditional wedding.

Sure that have been various additions to the traditional rites, and some have even changed, but please refrain from insulting Nigerians by trying to imply that we had no culture of acquiring our beautiful brides legally.

You need to check more and not make it based on your beliefs. The person that signs the marriage doducment is a Registrar of the Magistrate Court of the area where it resides. That the Registry is not within the court premises does not invalidate it from being an arm of the court.

You seem to have allowed the going on to affect your rationality. That Nigerians are not law abiding as you claim, does not mean that the law does not exist. Don't let the fact that people smoke everywhere deceive you into thinking that smoking in public is allowed in Nigeria. It is when you want to be nailed that you would realize your fallacy and by then, you'd learn again, that ignorance is no excuse (or defense) in law.

You do not think it the Registry Wedding protects against polygamy, hmmmm, well since it is sanctioned by law and the law is Nigeria is secular which respects one man-one wife, you'd be better advised to steer clear of this type of marriage should you plan to acquire more than one damsel to yourself.

BTW, why do people go to customary courts to dissolve a customary marriage or why have a customary court in the first instance if a registry wedding is only called a court wedding because people go to the court to resolve issues there. By that definition thus, all weddings in Nigeria would be a court wedding since its the court that all resort to for settlement of issues.

I would like to share with you my understanding of marriage after going through the marriage act.

@erico2k2 : It is generally referred to as Court wedding because the local registry is actually an arm of the magistrate court. Do get your facts right before you harangue people.

1. The Nigerian law recognizes 3 types of marriages - Customary, Registry (Court) and Religious weddings.
2. The differences between the three is what happens to the remaining spouse should one die intestate.

Now from the Nigerian Marriage Act, here are what obtains.
a. Traditional Marriage.
This is governed by the laws, culture and traditions of the husband's place. What this means is that both have decided to be have estates shared using the husband's tradition as a basis. What this implies is that if the husband's tradition allows for 2nd wife, so be it; if the tradition says the Uncle/Brother inherits everything, so be it.

b. Registry (Court)
This is governed by strict laws spelt out under the marriage act in Nigeria. It forbids polygamy or bigamy. It also states that it is only the will of a deceased spouse that can alter the statutory provision that the surviving spouse inherits everything. This is the best form of protection and that explains why even some churches require you to do this before you are wedded in a church.

c. Religious Marriage (Church or Nikkai).
This is governed by the laws, culture and traditions of the church of the husband. Note that the church wedding is the same as the traditional English wedding and thus governed by the traditions of the church. One needs to be careful here as this is also based on tradition and it is open to various interpretation, and thus it depends on who the lawyer is and who the judge is. Note that there are different traditions for various churches, some churches support polygamy while some don't frown at bigamy. Example what obtains at Christ Embassy doesn't necessarily obtains at Rev King's church, so ladies beware.

Where it can get confusing is because the 3 types of marriages since the review during IBB years now issue the same certificate. Yes the certificate are the same but whoever signs it dertermines the statutes that would be used to decide a court case for teh couple. Signed by the local governement, customary; signed by the registry, registry/court; signed by a Rev father/Pastor/Imam, Church/religious.

So be guided as you make the right choice for you and your spouse/children.

Well, being 30 and not married is not a big deal and should not cause you too much worries.

What I have noticed is that the anxiety ladies put themselves in causes the men to notice and start to wonder. Also some ladies put themselves outside the circle of the kind of guys that they desire. Nothing says he must finish secondary school, he could have opted to be in a football academy rather than go to school.
You guys must be aware that less than 60% of Nigerian youths are in schools, therefore, that you, have to go through secondary and then university/polytechnic to make it, does not imply that Musa has to do the same thing. If you check his biography, he was in an academy till 2008 and only started playing professionally last year! How old was Fabregas when he joined Arsenal, a mere 16 years and how old was Rooney when he scored that goal against Arsenal? The common factor here is that both chose football over school.

It is not a case of enforcement, it is a lack of existing law. The Nigerian government and its agencies (FRSC) is yet to realize the importance of safety and codifying this requirements into law. It might interest you to note that there is not codified Federal or State law/edit/bye-law that stipulates the requirements/standards for public transportation in Nigeria. Let me relate my own personal experience. When the 2008 model Octavia came out in 2007 and won all safety awards in Europe, getting the first 7-stars in safety for a car. Then I was in UK and I started the process to get the Octavia, it was an eye opener.

When  I contacted Skoda and informed them I wanted an Octavia and let them know I wanted it in Nigeria, then the drama started. I was referred to the head office, from there I was informed that the 'Nigerian version' would not be ready until September 2008. To confirm this, the head office linked me up with their Nigerian dealership and Stallion Motors confirmed the September date.

In August 08, Stallion contacted me and invited me to the unveiling in Lagos, at the unveiling at Silverbird I was shocked at the safety specs of the Octavia. I got in touch with the head office and they confirmed that the spec was right and produced by them as recommended by the local dealership. They informed me that they depend on the local reps to help fine tune what the people require and what Nigerians want are the cheap models.

I did my investigations and I can confirm that it is the same situation for Honda, Toyota and Volkswagen. I was forced to buy my Accord directly from US rather than Nigeria. Now Honda Place has refused to service my car just for the fact that it is an American model.

The Nigerian government should wake up and start to protect the citizens.

A 'Hidden Number' is only hidden to the phone i.e handset that receives it. It is however available to ALL the base stations that processed the call till it terminates at the receivers phone.

Your number is not hidden per se, just that your phone was instructed not to display the number.

All you need do is get the software that can parse the instructions sent to a SIM card and you then can. Or if you can, get a device that can break into the base station near you.
