@Jamace- it depens on the shares u are Holding. I remembered UBA did reconstuction while consolidating all their business entities based on CBN directive and this led to price increase without affecting the holder's equity. I allign with hbdrenic position.

Well, i think the big stockbroking firms might have this issue in the sense they have several daily requests to attend to and sometimes prioritise the big portfolio customers ahead of the so called 'lean portfolio owners'. In my own case, i have an account officer in a medium size stockbroking firm who attends to my need promptly even if i send my bid as late as 12 noon and still get it carried out especially when they trade 'IN-HOUSE'. I also grease his palms anytime i hit lil or big profit from time to time out of my own sheer will (He has never demaded for anything since 7yrs i've been with them)

kolidave: same tin my broker is telling me, my broker said as at yesterday since transcorp has been closed on offer Theres a pool of sellers against few buyers.

Greediness can make us to lose in this business of shares. I sold my large chunk of Oando shares on Friday and the remaining on yesterday @ a right price after making 45% gain against my stockbroker's advice to leave it but I'm happy today otherwise the gain would have dropped tremendously. The sellers now outweigh buyers which made it to shed N1.00 and the share price is now N14.54. I'll soon join the train very soon

kolidave: Selling a huge chunk of my transcorp shares today. I hope I don't regret it. I hope to buy it again soon maybe wen the price is eventually low.

Can you honestly tell us the % gain you've made on this shares. For all shares, there is a time to HOLD, SELL and a time to BUY . I think this is the best time to offload Oando and Transcorp with the hope to reposition later in the week or weeks to come

Elai147: Look at it from the equation: P/E, if the company has been losing money, earnings (E) will be negative and when you have negative earnings that means the P/E ratio will be negative. However, you don't usually see it reported as negative because in finance it is not acceptable, the same way it is impossible to see a negative stock price. so the negative P/E can be reported as N/A, NIL, etc. So if you are buying into such a company with a long term view it means you are hoping things will turn around for the company and that they may go back to profitability.
