You nailed it, madam. From now until COVID-19 leaves us, even if one must JiJo, the trading must be done in dividend-paying stocks else it might lead to PREMIUM tears. For me and my household, any stock on the NSE that doesn't pay a reasonable dividend(not a kobo-kobo dividend) has no place in my portfolio. #ICAN'TKILLMYSELF. cool

Hello seyisanya,

Please could you give me like 5 of such listed stocks apart from Zenith, GTB, Dang Cem, Wapco

Thanks

Ambode is also a foreigner from Ondo State, Tinubu will never let a real son of the soil take over Lagos. He is like the democratic party giving immigrants power to consolidate his own, real son of the soil can get grassroots power without a Godfather, once they have access to Government funds and structure, same thing he did to those that sponsored him in 1999. He doesn't want what he did to others to happen to him.

I don't think it has anything to do with Tinubu.

The real sons of the soil you are talking about are Awori historically and unfortunately they are one of the smallest Yoruba ethnic group in population

And also because Lagos became a business centre which attracted other Yoruba group to Lagos as far back as 1700 to Lagos and they have now out

numbered the first settler so its not possible to have all the positions in Lagos occupied only by Awori

quit saying trash. This has been going on for long. Even the oba of Lagos says that Lagos is not yorubaland. its not politics, it's a known fact.

Which fact are you talking about?

That the present Oba of Lagos who is a direct descendant of Oba Ologunkutere (1780 - 1806) who is a child of an Ijesha man ( osun state)

So Lagos state is your tribe land right?

Lagos belong to people from epe only. Since it as being seperated for the western region, it became a no mans land.

How can you come online and just what you don't know about.....which part of Lagos state are you talking about?

Badagry, Ojo awori, isheri olofin, lagos island, isolo etc ?

For your information most part of Lagos state are originally owned by Yoruba Awori not by Yoruba Ijebu in Epe

And know it that there is difference between Lagos State and Lagos same with Ondo state and Ondo town

What a flawed argument. So anybody whose parents built a house in any state is automatically an indigene of that state?

Not that I myself am a Lagosian by birth, but having lived, worked and paid taxes all these years in Lagos I consider myself a Lagosian except the constitution of the state says otherwise and clearly spells out who is a citizen or not.

Besides it is a well known fact that for almost any place that experiences rapid development, the lines between indigenes and foreigners become blurred over a period of time that you can hardly tell, especially when they bear the same names and speak same language. The last president of America was of African descent and the current one is part German.

Stop comparing America to Nigeria....two different things

Some post are worthless, if they are not Lagosians who are they?
According to history the only people who can claim to be true Lagosians are those from Badagary, who eventually migrated to island with slave traders.
If you are looking for true Lagosian to govern Lagos it might be impossible. But those guys know not any other home except Lagos, they where born and brought up in Lagos.

Which history are you talking about? Can you provide any reference?......Big Lies

One key thing that hasn't been mentioned here for beginners, and arguably everyone, is that you are much better off buying an index like the S&P500 than trying to pick individual stocks.

Yes, it's "boring" compared to imagining you are running a hedge fund or outsmarting Warren Buffett but if you want longevity (to thrive over decades) in this game, boring is the way to go.

Please can you talk about it here....that is one of the reasons for this forum

In addition to AZUL earlier mentioned, NCLH and CCL have proven to be winners in the comeback before the pull back. With an entry price between $17 - $19 for both, they can easily blow past the $25 mark next week if the market continues to recover from the latest pull back.

They have already started receiving bookings and warming up to resume cruises. One of them said they still don't want to be tempted to resume before their August set date in the face of the imminent resumption of tourism.

Their 52-week highs are $59.78 and $53.34 respectively.

OK thanks bro....I am actually into two of the three already.

We shall see how it goes next week.

SAN ($2.61)
Banco Santander SA is a Spanish commercial bank that got beat during this pandemic. It is on the path of recovery with a 23% gain in the last one month.
It has strong fundamentals with a net profit margin of 10.29%. With an EPS of $0.34 and dividend of $0.26, that gives a handsome dividend yield of 9.9% by US standard.

At $2.61, it has a clear possibility of hitting $4 in the short term and most importantly a stable stock despite its low price now because I can confirm it's Beta of 1.13 is on the low side.

Another one you may consider which is not as healthy in terms of performance but holds a good possibility of short term gain is MGI.

MoneyGram (MGI $3.47) has a negative earnings per share and has struggled to a point it sold for about $1.50 early last month.
Why it suddenly rose to $3.47?
Reports have emerged that Western Union is about to acquire them.
Any more gains left in it?
In my opinion, if you can buy at a pull back and wait, you will make money from it when the acquisition deal is announced.

Happy investing.

Thanks
