Exact reasons differ from woman to woman but they include in no particular order:

Economic dependence on the man, fear of the unknown, believing he can change him, feeling guilty that reasons for beating is her failure/shortcoming, low self-esteem, culture/what people will say, being used to the guy/attachment, sex, feeling that the man is in control, have kids together already, threat to harm her/her kids, religion, etc.

Most women who have a good income and or come from a rich/influential and supportive background will not tolerate abuse long term. At least in modern times.

But still it's complex to understand why even the most vulnerable/weak lady would tolerate some very vicious abuse for so long.

Can you imagine Trump calling Americans rapists because of Weinstein & Bill Cosby? Or calling Americans murderers because of the high rate of homicide in USA? How can he now talk to Nigerians when he didn't even do so during months of campaign?

Just a bit of update. I have sent someone to go and check out the addresses Ibrahim Bello gave me which include-
1)Block 1 Balarabe Musa Plaza. TCC Commerce center . Abakpa, Kaduna.
2) 3 Old Garage by Nnamdi Azikiwe Express Way , Kurmin Maashi, Kaduna.
In the first address, nothing like his business exists there and no body knows him by that name either, even people that have been trading at the plaza for years do not know about him. In the second address his business does not exist let alone his factory as he claimed.
I have spent over N25,000 tracking this man down to no avail. His number is never available.
He still owes me N138,100 till date and has disappeared into the thing air.

So any update on this?

I just mentioned earlier that we have all manner of weird characters on this thread. I hope you at least recorded his voice.

The man has a point though. LGs & States cannot afford it. Too many states & LGAs were created, creating a bloated bureaucracy & civil service.

We need to re-organise our tiers of government. Introduce 6 regions, removes states and strengthen local councils/LGAs. Let FG handle foreign affairs, defence, currency, Inter-regional crimes, part of higher education, National Health scheme, Innovation, Science & Rese, etc. Reduce centralisation. Natural resources will be shared FG (35%), Region (40%), LGA where resource is (25%).

Re-organisation will help grow the economy, create better quality jobs with better pay, reduce bloated public recurrent expenditure that makes capital projects almost impossible.

I agree with much of what you said. But the Bible never said Christians will be perfect or that POPULAR pastors will necessarily be genuine and be assured heaven. NO, it didn't. But it doesn't mean their publications were entirely useless. At times one who receives advice might succeed with that advice than the giver.

Now there are things people of other religions have done or do that clearly do not tally with teachings of their religions. Not only Christians. Some have been known to kill their own daughter or the fiance/hubby if they do not support the relationship, as in honour killing.

Clearly, both should have put their disagreement aside for the daughter's sake. Like I have always said, a forgiving person will become an even more forgiving Christian. The Damascus Road conversion of Saul to Paul is extremely rare in modern times.

Am not in support. Am only saying that the rate men complain about this infidelity and having a child from another man is becoming alarming.What could be the remote cause?

Many possible causes:

(1) Opportunity: it makes a thief. Women mix with other men more freely now at work, school and social media access means they can now date right from their bedroom under the hubby's nose.

(2) Infidelity in marriage used to be though as having grave spiritual consequences under traditional religion. at least in much of Delta, Edo, Igboland and others. In Yorubaland there was fear of Magun. A wife couldn't be sure her hubby hasn't laced her body with it. Now many are "Christians in those parts and others adhering other imported belief systems. Such fears have diminished.

(3) Greed & Poverty. Most ladies who cheat do it for some pecuniary benefits. Some are genuinely poor and want to supplement income. Yet some women are wretchedly poor BUT will never cheat. Others are not really poor but belief they deserve far better. They want Iphone X, a car, expensive clothes, cash, Peruvian hair, Promotion/favors at work, to secure contracts, etc.

(4) The kick. They just want to be naughty or they have always been rather loose sexually. So regaining self-control will not come easy.

(5) Marrying in haste: Some marry for the wrong reasons, be it societal/family pressure, to tick the marriage box or whatever. Later the marriage is not as great as it's cracked up to be. Frustration sets and excitement is sought elsewhere.

A lady will always be hit upon. Anyone who desires to cheat always find reasons to.

No reason justifies bringing kids from outside to the man at home. Apart deceiving the hubby/bf, the child is also denied the truth about his paternity. At least if a man fathers another child outside, he will not deceive the wife at home to raise it believing it's hers. If her man is not behaving appropriately, divorce him and find a man she thinks is much better (and good luck with that).

If a man behaves badly and she copies him, how's she now better? Durex already did and rated 9ja women as most promiscuous. I think followed by the Filipino women. So promiscuous married women and fiancees will naturally likely bring kids from outside.

As for men, polygamy remains legal in 9ja. Women can petition NASS to make polyandry legal. That way they can marry several men at same time.
