blimeyVic:He miscalculated seriously. He should have boycotted the primaries. Because Lagos APC/Tinubu already decided that Ambode is not malleable enough. No way he was going to fight Tinubu successfully. He should have began mending fences a year ago. Even if he didn't do much wrong actually. Lagos ACN/APC has been in Tinubu pocket since 1999. Fighting Tinubu within APC is impossible. He should have just give just pretended to accept not re-running. He could have moved on to be a senator or even a governor in the future. Ambode himself benefited from same godfather politics, albeit very bad for democracy, so he can hardly break the trend. |
chloride6:Aircraft ready for scrap. Ask them for the latest if they will sell to you. They only give better models to Gulf countries. To contain Iran & thereby indirectly strengthen Israel. Sha na our leaders fail to see how our neighbours see us as a BIG rival and anything that weakens us strengthens them. Nigeria needs to abandon "Africa First Policy". Pan-Africanism died with Osagyefo Nkrumah. No need fooling ourselves. Nigeria should go all out and work with China & Russia. Advance technology & infrastructure quickly. After advancement, we can reconcile with the West again. Shikena. |
This shows to level Nigeria has been reduced to. Back in the day people routinely bought news cars. Tokunbo was hardly known. Market women bought Peugeot, Toyota and Datsun cars which they gave drivers to run "town service" to earn side income like people use keke Napep these days. The same market women built eight flat storey buildings as investment. They are the old buildings their children and grandchildren rent out today. All were done without any fuss. These days everybody shows off every wallet he or she buys. This show off pushes the youths to want to have everything here and now. Na wa o. |
wunmi590:The guy is shorter than Bubu. I wonder if he can see over Bubu's head when standing behind. OBJ's ADC looked the part the most. The late Solomon Giwa-Amu. |
Nobodi fit nack pidgin like Benin boys. Pidgin don kolobi DNA 4 dia sef. |
ebenco2000:Perhaps the recent political game of power led to this being discovered recently. Or perhaps Sanwo-Olu's coke master forced him on Ambode. Food for Tinubu boys things. Now Ambo is saying enough is enough, who knows? ![]() |
Mynd44:Did Sanwo-Olu declare his mental health situation? So the question is now who broke the law first? One who concealed his kolo situation or a governor with immunity that exposed the one who hid his mental health situation from voters? ![]() |
meolaniyi:I think BUHARI is prevailing on Tinubu to control his boys. FG know that removing a governor doing a decent a job will reflect badly on APC. But the Rubicon has been crossed already. I cannot see how Tinubu can save face if Ambode is allowed to win. Ambode will still remember that Tinubu did it against his will. |
BabaRamota1980:Nothing new we know the game. For example when average British people say "Commonwealth countries" they actually instinctively mean Canada, Australia, New Zealand & SA to some extent. They even forget that India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Jamaica, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana and others are even in it. Sub-Sahara Africa basically means all countries in Africa where black people are politically AND economically in control. |
mfm04622:I think most are Nigerian diaspora people. They may spend at shoprite but go back to live in family or own homes. Not so much in hotels. Remember to that Jo'Burg & Cape Town are visited more by Westerners who are more likely to use credit cards than returning Nigerians who may use cash more. Senegal & Ghana might have more African-Americans return to view slave trade ports, again people who will spend more per head. So the average spend per day or the visitor numbers may not be accurate for Lagos. Unless they also tally it with MMA arrival figures. Even though many arriving at MMA proceed right away to Ibadan, Abeokuta, Enugu, Illorin, Benin, Warri, Akure, etc. Barely spending anything within Lagos. |
Xisnin:Don't think all people who comment know what they are talking about. He could have said main opposition party and we'd understand. One thing I still wonder about in opposition parties. When in Opposition, Nigerian parties do not have different members to comment/specialize in various portfolios/aspects of governance. For example, now that PDP is the biggest opposition party, they could have Peter Odili or Uduaghan or Ahmadu Ali (all doctors) or a previous PDP Health Minister keeping Isaac Adewole on his toes over the woes in our health sector. We could have FKK (former Aviation minister) keeping Aviation Minister watching over his back over performance or lack thereof in Aviation. David Mark (a retired general) might handle issues about defense and national security. And so on. That way when opposition figures criticize specific govt policies, then we know they know what they are talking about. But in 9ja everybody just speaks about everything. Everyone does propaganda. No expertise. It may not be the culture in many presidential systems but it would enable serious opposition parties in Nigeria to have "expertise base" evolved over time and ready to deliver in governance from day one. We saw the lack of preparedness for governance when APC took over. Taking long to pick ministers, trial and error policies and policy somersaults. The most developed part of APC set up in opposition was Lai Mohammed's propaganda machine and helped smooth over Buhari's many gaffes in the media in the early part of this administration. Imagine if they had developed expertise base on health, education, economy, agriculture, infrastructure and others like that. Buhari would have hit the ground running. Governance is more than propaganda, hurriedly putting a manifesto together without the expertise to implement. |
Bukolar1:I wonder. Is anyone pure in Buhari's cabinet at all? |
FisifunKododada:Life is set up in such a way that if you're not work shy, you won't need to depend on others for help financially. Assuming stay is legal. Your credit card can even occasionally tide you over if you can repay soonest. Dependency of many on the few family members who are ok perpetuates poverty in Africa. Money you could have saved for your kids as down payment for mortgage in 15 or 20 years time is expended on extended relatives. And because these monies going to family members might be 20 to 100k Naira most times (but at times far more), they might not consider it a big deal. Since it did not change their lives dramatically. But it helped to complete school fees, pay health care bills, complete rent payment, repair car, etc. So if you regularly assist 25 friends and relatives, they do quickly add up. But long term nobody will ever say you helped them in anyway. |

Eserise1:Lots of owners lease out their private Jets and use it privately only when needed. And will be stipulated on leasehold agreement. |
ADEMOLA144:Autopilot. |
Rather add another engine and make it 3m dollars. And 3 to 5 more seats. That would really make it better and more attractive. I wonder why Embraer or Dornier cannot exploit that niche. |
ollyruffy:The masterplan was to make Tinubu get whatever cut he deems fit from Lagos wealth. That plan was faithfully adhered to until 2015 when Ambo came. Although Fashola did it only very grudgingly just to avoid the Ambo situation we are seeing right now. ![]() Which other masterplan do you want again? ![]() |
Now I get it, Tinubu as a coke master will surely prefer Sanwo-Olu. He must have been his street boy in Chicago back then. ![]() |
That time she nor get man wey take am serious. That caused her panic and confusion. Na now she find one mugu. ![]() Fear of "evening newspaper-hood" don catch am. Later she will claim societal pressure forced her into marriage. Now that more men want baby mama. She for nor marry na. ![]() |
ThinkWISELY:Mama G just hit 60. Though one will take her for like mid-50s. I was expecting to see Liz Benson (52) on the list. |
KillaBeauty:With the way we go about religion, you'd think Nigeria would be a serene paradise full of innocent, law-abiding and selfless people. Alas the opposite is the case. |
seanfer:He can resign if impeachment looks inevitable. Nobody has monopoly over stratagem. Ambo will not defect though. He seems too decent for that. Like Fashola. He will probably get a cabinet post if Buhari wins. He could return as governor or senator years later. |
kc2hansome:Hahahaha ha! ![]() They are now confessing o. If he had given the share of Lagos wealth Tinubu and his followers believe is their birthright, he would be a Saint. Now that he's perceived to have allowed them eat too little, he is corrupt to the point of deserving impeachment. If this is playing out in arguably the richest and most cosmopolitan state in Nigeria, you can see that Nigeria is a massive joke. |
Great Sturridge goal. Hazard goal kept us back and came at a crucial time. Conceding a second goal would have been terrible. |
I like Miss Kebbi & Miss Kaduna. Biko dey should ban excessive make-up & fake hair/wig in beauty competitions. These things make a mockery of beauty. It makes us expect women to be beautiful in a way that's almost naturally not achievable. Piling even more pressure on women to meet certain beauty standards. Men for example expect boobs to be pert, pointing at the sky and both equal size. That's hardly possible in nature. Only few people have such by age 21. Boobs are rarely equal in size. Women who do not have these "perfect" boobs start feeling theirs are not normal. They want to go under the knife or go to great lengths to pad, augment or disguise boobs that are actually absolutely normal. |

Bambambiglo:If I was Ambo, if the whole godfather politics gets too much, I will just leave politics altogether. But they enjoy the power & money in it too much to go. You do not have to be in politics to contribute. It's obvious he's not a typical Nigerian politician. He thought just focusing on the job like a technocrat is enough. Without political distractions. |
FOLYKAZE:Read again. She left APC too. In saner climes, not all ministers must be party members. In America, Republicans have served in Democratic party govt and held other positions and verse visa. Nigerian constitution does not mandate ruling party membership to be in cabinet. In fact often technocrats are appointed. At least the ladies have demonstrated far more integrity in the Fifth Republic. NOI once left as Foreign Minister, another one left to join UN and Mama Taraba just left too. Men mostly leave when gunning for state governorship. |
Lol. At least he said the truth for ones. Truth can never be buried. It germinates and flourishes eventually. ![]() |
Bambambiglo:Las las na one yeye guy go use mouth buy maggie for her soup. One of those guys who squat with a friend, use his friend's SUV and pretend they are all his. ![]() Na sufferhead dey end am. |
well, job nor kukuma dey sef. So govt feels what the point educating people? Because I cannot see how govt feels many people can afford those fees. Those who can probably already have the wards in private universities. Well it's all part of Sai Baba change! Eku gbadun o. ![]() |
