Nothing new in that. We all knew already. Only that people focus on the minuscule number who commit crimes. That is part of being immigrants anyway. That bad is exaggerated, the good often down-played. |
Etizz:It would be removed too unless there are any surgical/medical reasons not to do so. Of course the surgeons doing it will know better & decide. |
Etizz:If spotted, C-section. Can be elective and planned for. It would depend on actual size if it would seriously disturb baby/mum. Good one from OP. |
IPOBrep:Oba is the head of Benin Traditional Church. The Holy Aruosa. Centuries old Cathedral. An Oba of Benin was the first Oba/monarch to convert to Christianity outside Ethiopia & North Africa 500 years ago. After his training in Lisbon/Portugal. His attempt to change Benin to a Christian Empire was resisted by the chiefs/nobles of Benin. So instead Oba became head of his own church instead of falling under Roman Catholic Church. Till today. Anglican and other churches did not yet exist then. So Benin has a longer history of Christianity than most. The Nigerian HQ of Jehovah's witnesses is just outside Benin, the Godfather of Nigerian Pentecostalism Archbishop Benson Idahosa was from Benin, one time head of PFN Felix Omobude too, several other prominent pastors like Christ Oyakhilome, Johnson Suleiman, Omokhudu and more are Edoid people. Edo, beginning in ancient times, continues to play a key role in Nigerian Christianity. |
Ah ah! Only kneel down for pastor and call her daddy? Nowadays if she nor open legs for daddy pastor you never happy. If men follow your advise 80% of women go return to their papa yard. Women nor hear this advice o. Opium of the masses will remain potent for around 30 to 50 years yet. Because our economic and societal development is too slow. |
The state of short man devil El-Ruffian who's gunning for the presidency. This is how he will turn the country with his bigotry. RIP. |
An excellent one again from Anambra, the home of very brilliant minds. Come to think of it, why can't Africans use such uniform daily? |
Why anyone would display a pair of 200 Naira bathroom slippers is beyond me. Op is just trying to obfuscate our intelligence by calling this cleavage. ![]() |

Joevics:Most of the bigots here hardly travel outside their state. Then straight to Lagos (typically Okokomaiko, Mushin/Agege, Ajegunle, Ikotun, etc) and believe they now know everything. If Jonathan wanted to develop Bayelsa, he could have sunk all the money spent on 14 Fed universities, railway, almajiri schools and more, yet it won't cover the cost of a solid bridge between two Bayelsan communities separated by water. Had he deployed FG money hugely in Bayelsa, they still would accuse him of being a coded militant carrying out resource control through the back door. Nigeria bigots are too irrational to have sense. |
Blood spilled anyhow in Nigeria is sickening. The soil must be crying out. It is dripping with innocent blood. God please intervene. The heart of man is just too wicked. RIP. |
4kDdullard:Weyrey. ![]() For a vice LG chairman not bad. Better than 5k each or a 1kg bag of rice. |
Sapphire86:Thanks dear. |
Good thread. When is the best time for elderly people (80+) to visit Dubai, considering the temperature/heat there? Especially in terms of going to the desert/doing safari. |
sholatech:I was rather shocked to hear that Muslims do not do evangelism. Agreed it's less than we Christians do. I saw I child grow up in the neighbourhood in a Western country. From a Christian home. Around age 18 or 19 I suddenly saw him in town wearing a Muslim white robe and cap. Later he began setting a table near where Christians have been preaching for decades. He was preaching Islam beside them too. Now some people just simply assumed he just went there to find trouble. I wonder why some people suddenly thought negative. I have also met Muslims very willing to discuss Islam. A female friend from North Africa once gave me a Koran in English language. We very openly discussed religion. She is a lawyer and from a long line of judges and lawyers in her family. |
Hmmmm. |
teflonjake:I made it clear that "MOST" Enogies are royal descendant. That is pretty self-explanatory word in English. Those descended from Obas are known. Those descended from famous generals are also known. Post 1914 it is pretty unknown for any body aside princes to be made Enogie. Palace chief, the ones largely non-hereditary, at most in modern times. KINGSLEY Eweka by the way. As for the police investigation, nothing to tell me about it. Even IG Gambo was in the dark. They knew little. From top to bottom. I knew AIG C.O. even before he became PC. Circumstances surrounding Sgt Otue's death and all. AROUND THAT TIME, not told later what happened. But some of it was speculation. About who played what role. That I can assure you. If you look around Nigeria, did Shehu of Borno have the apparatus to fight Boko? No. Can Emir of Zazzau fight Southern Kaduna crisis? No. Neither can those in the Middle Belt do it. I have not seen people castigating them. We should not hide behind thinly-veiled ethno-centric, religious or whatever prejudices to lay blame on those not responsible for it. I think the only thing that will satisfy people like you is to scrap anything traditional and ape foreign things in a mediocre way. Having travelled around countries like Spain, Denmark, Sweden and of course UK see how they preserve their traditions and monarchy, it becomes clear how much inferiority complex is affecting Nigerians. I personally knew a Caribbean kid of 17 (at least when he was around 7 years old then) who was shot dead about 2 kilometres from Buckingham Palace. And many Nigerian kids killed over the last 2 or 3 years in London lived within 4km radius of Buckingham Palace. Nobody has castigated QEII for holding pomp & pageantry frequently instead of calling police to tackle it. The buck stops with the govt and police each time. Even in UK where Queen Elizabeth is the head of state and can in theory sack the government. |
ajokebelle:Ajoke, you be spoilt "shild" o. Na a whole HRH Igwe you dey eye? Nor let his Lorlor cash you o. Just picture what Lorlor Susu (Pat Ozokwor) will do. ![]() Honestly when I saw him I just imagined: What if King Solomon or King David actually looked, tall with dark skin like this? |
teflonjake:I knew him far better than you. Not least during his visits to my late relative, one of the Enogies of the Kingdom. Even before he became oba. As little kids back then. I will remind you that most Enogies are children of sons or brothers (princes of Benin) of previous Obas. How do you even know that no call was made to the police? Were you there? So if the public cannot place a distress call to the police, what is the purpose of the police? I had high ranking people in the police, all now retired. So do not assume what you do not know or accept current mediocrity as the norm. That the FG has allowed police to rot to the point of police demanding fuel money or to be provided with a car first, does not shift the blame to ordinary citizens or traditional authorities. Oba Erediauwa was far more relaxed than the current Oba. The reforms he's currently carrying out have not happened since Oba Eweka II's time in 1914. Anini & gang were robbing in Bendel state in the 1985/1986. Not much Oba could do about it. I got to sneakily see daily briefing about insider workings/investigation during Anini time. Family members were in journalism and law enforcement back then. The police didn't even have the correct photo of Anini. Obas control no organs or institutions of state. Put blames where they belong. Oba Market, airport, govt house area, Aduwawa or wherever robbers or cultists operate, Obas and chiefs have no institutions to tackle them. The political leaders have the constitutional duty. Before you go on to "Obas get money from govt", the circa 4m Naira or whatever current annual allowance from govt, is not even enough to run palace bureaucracy for a week. The amount Lucky Igbinedion as governor even embezzled part of then. This Oba worked in diplomacy and private business for nearly 40 years (he's mid-60s now) before becoming Oba. Hence wealthy in his own right. |
Mrop:She is expecting campaign after election. ![]() Even our dear Bubu who publicly wept uncomfortably to plead for a chance to lead is forming strongman these days. Then a man who used all his tricks and paid all dating bills should not relax afterwards. ![]() |
teflonjake:So how do you know Oba was in the palace at that point? So if normal citizens make a distress call to the police, they should not respond? It should take the Oba calling the police commissioner before they respond? Some have no value for their tradition and that's fine. Others who do should be allowed to. Live and let's live. The monarchy precedes Nigeria by millenniums. Nigeria as we know it will cease to exist and the monarch will continue. The finest achievements of Benin Empire, among the finest in Africa as a whole, were made under ancient Obas. Not as part of Nigeria. Transfer your aggression/frustration to the heirs of Lord Lugard in government, not monarchs that FOR NOW are only custodians of culture and tradition. So live your life and let others do too. |
Lordbooster:There are not much more men than women at the reproductive and sexually active age. Except during or about under 2 decades after a heavy civil war or major conflict. Over the age of 60, there are usually more women. A quick look at any village or small town will easily show you that. Just like men date multiple women, lots of women now date multiple men. Even the most single girl nowadays "codedly" has a man. He may be unready for marriage, already married, not able to look after family yet, but nonetheless most ladies are not totally free. A young married woman will usually have kids or show other obvious signs that she is. But you can hardly tell that a man is married on the streets. Lots of married men do not even wear a ring. This situation gives the impression there are more free women about. Certainly statistics do not support the idea that there are much more women between age of 18 and 55. |
Very bad. |
sleekbae:Lol. Honestly how many women even pay restaurant or bar bill when on date? Women are extremely stingy. Unless you are their blood relative/family and occasionally maybe hubby, in which case she will get it 100 times back. Averagely men still earn more and men are raised to spend on women. In Nigeria well over 75% of women rely wholly or partly on men for money. Ini Edo who is talking, let her HONESTLY breakdown how much she has collected from men compared with given to men. |
Gaddafiyusf:Hmmmm......It would be good to do the above. But mind you Bin Laden and almost all 911 bombers were from Saudi Arabia. Frequent wickedness and claiming holiness will however make it hard. |
Gaddafiyusf:So you believed that nonsense fight broke out bullocks? Is Kashoggi Mike Tyson to be fighting? Two private Jets flew into Istanbul with Saudi intelligence and the crown Prince's security staff hours before the killing. All of them lodged in hotels few minutes from the consulate and seen, heard and videoed at the consulate. Those that sneaked in on public flights mostly managed to fly out in those private Jets hours after the killing. The icing on the cake is that one of the intelligence military guys is a doctor/pathologist specialised in post mortem. So he could have neatly cut up the journalist either at the consulate or at the nearby consul's residence that a convoy of cars left the embassy. Saudi goofed seriously. |
Akinwerndey:Well the truth is most have elevated foreign ideas and doctrine above local ones. Including this Christian prophetess. She did not call herself Olokun prophetess. So you may be criticised based on what you proclaim if seen doing the opposite. Maybe people should first become comfortable with the fact all religions have elements of the local culture in which they evolved. Including the ones we have so enthusiastically borrowed. I guess soon enough we will ourselves get tired of the hypocrisy, inferiority complex and brainwash. Then we will realise that doing traditional rites does not automatically mean evil/devil or fetish. |
Berankis:About 5 years ago I said that in just 25 years (20 years from now) white South Africans would likely be ruling SA again. Because blacks there will have demonstrated their incompetence, turned on each other (since no more reason to fight the whites), an inncrease in number of poor White South Africans (due to black people mismanaging things) and general economic woes will force Western World to engineer whites taking over power again. In addition lots of the generations that suffered under Apartheid will have died out, many due to diseases and poverty. Apartheid will become a distant memory and the younger Black generation will not resist White take-over. The roles of previous Black leaders who failed to empower blacks while in power, including Mandela will be X-rayed. All things seemingly "sacred" and heroic now will lose value in the face of much black poverty. Just this year a young black South African expressed doubt if Mandela did anything for blacks while in power. It was a British TV report on SA. This sentiment is quietly growing but still not openly talked about. But this could change soon. White ruling again could be initially sweet-talked as bringing about fairness and inclusion since there has not been a white president for 45 years. That is how blacks will go back to being second class again gradually. The amount of time they spend hating and attacking other black Africans, if they spent half of it on forming stable families, working hard and being responsible, they would prosper, fewer of the women will run after Nigerians and actually live a meaningful and productive life. Today, I almost regret every kobo I donated to Fight Apartheid appeals as a kid. I for one refused to visit that country and spend my heard earned money there. I'd rather go to Cotonou, Paris, Rome or some other place. |
OgaGist:ok |
Blackfire:Abi o. Nor be Abule Malaga wey we dey pass going from Ibadan to Oyo City? ![]() Some Nairalanders too get long throat. ![]() But honestly hotels are relatively expensive during that time in Southern Spain, so it is a very nice gesture. |
Well, Buhari knows that he can never concede like Jonathan did. So it's still a miraculous thing to him. It confused him. He was preparing for protests, parallel govt and urging Almajiri to cause mayhem. Hence he is still struggling to rule. |
