hemartins:300k is money some have never owned lifelong. Some big boys in Alaba International today began with far less. @OP save a bit more. Like 150k more. Mobile phone accessories is a good idea. But do not rush in. Understudy someone in the business already. Every business, no matter how apparently simple, has a secret. Do not let people deceive you with too rosy promises of quick money making business. If it was so quick and real, no stranger loves you that much to let you into the business. The extra savings will tied you over as your business grows, so you do not deep hand into business money. Live modestly as you grow your business. |
Olami0394:Wow! What a baseless generalisation. Have you been to every country and every home of each person or even 51% (assuming minimum number of most is 51%) who live abroad? You could have offered a sound advice instead of disparaging others based on perhaps just a few people you know. Did you ask which country he's going to? Which job abroad? Income/salary? Cost of living? Conditions including residence permit and duration? Future prospects there? Cultural/adjustment aspect? These and similar stuff are things I'd expect an enlightened and objective person to ask. There are people who move from Ondo,Yobe, Delta, Rivers, Kano, Edo, Benue, Kaduna, Kwara, Imo and others places to Lagos to live in a friend's Face-Me-I-face-You room in Mushin, Bariga or Igando but tell his people back in his village that he lives in a mansion in Lagos with several cars. It does not only happen in Nollywood, but also in real life. If people want to "form", they can be anywhere and form. It's a matter of individual ego. With living abroad it goes like this: tell people you're struggling and most in Nigeria would not believe. Most of those who believe will relish ridiculing you for "not making it", whatever that means in their mind. Tell them you're doing well and they misinterpret what that means in reality. Many feel you now swim in money and may just casually ask you for $5,000 thinking that's little money to you now. Take it from someone who has seen it over a couple of decades. |
Built2last:Not really. He can still make life hard for Ambo through House of Assembly. But I think Tinubu is sending a message to others. As in you can try sidelining me at Federal level but here in Lagos I still call the shots. And you need Lagos to win SW convincingly. |
Nice. Very natural. No OTT make up or bleaching. |
thorpido:If by choice, no problem. But in a country where we have abysmal doctor/patients ratio and virtually no general practice in most communities, how can a minister of health and a medical prof be so clueless? He's a disgrace to healthcare, himself, academia and Buhari's government. This man could have gone about introducing a massive General practice/family medicine system that will mop up unemployed or under-employed young medical graduates. A 2-year general practice residency program rolled out nationwide with state governments. That way district hospitals & teaching hospitals will be freed up to handle more serious cases and those referred from general practitioners. And we also need mental health practitioners in large numbers right now. You wonder what difference health ministers have made over the last 20 years. No new or innovative ideas to fix the health sector. |
Mr Idahosa will make it in his trade. The guy na Maradona. ![]() But white wedding while already married? Or not official marriage? Otherwise it would be bigamy. While Nigeria does not really forbid polygamy, you cannot marry two women under secular or Christian rules officially. Sadly being a pastor in 9ja is no more necessarily synonymous with honesty or decency. It's now just "belle hustle" and all-comers. |
Tinubu is goofing this Ambode issue seriously. He's making Buhari/Northern cabal apprehensive about 2019 presidential election. Splitting SW APC will affect APC in presidential election. Even in 2015, Buhari didn't beat GEJ by much in SW. With North Central uncertain because of poor handling of herdsmen, Buhari has reasons to worry. Whatever Tinubu does now, it's almost too late. Let Ambode win, he will know he just narrowly made it past Tinubu's machinations. If he supports Sanwo-Olu and wins, there will be division and if Buhari still manages to win, Buhari/cabal will not forgive Tinubu for giving them a scare. Refusing to forgive or hear their pleas, for throwing his weight around so openly against the wishes of national APC and governors. Tinubu is smart enough though to read the handwriting on the wall. But he might have taken it too far already. But then again Tinubu is a master of subterfuge. Knowing that Ribadu could not win under ACN in 2011, he secretly worked against Ribadu to help PDP/GEJ. Securing a good deal for OANDO with Diezani Madueke in the process. |
The system suits men nicely. Lots of women will have no choice if they want to have kids. Lots of guys do not want to marry but they want kids. |
This guy was governor at the age of 27. And established a polytechnic. Now old men in govt cannot even maintain schools already established by their predecessors. RIP. |
And these are the saints Buhari took 6 abi 7 months to bring down from heaven into his cabinet. Disgraceful. |

Nice Post. |
keneck1:Downtrodden? God forbid. If I wanted to be a looter I would have returned home to join them. I know people in various positions in 9ja currently eating very well with these people. So I know the inside story. Just because people I know benefit from this same system does not mean I should condone it. They even know my position on things. So if you are getting crumbs from their table, do not celebrate or defend them too much. Karma is waiting. But good that at least the looting of people like Amaechi has created many downtrodden people who are rightly angry and may begin stoning Amaechi and others like him one day. Remember Amaechi admitted corruption saying until the masses start stoning him and his ilk, corruption will continue. Check online for the video. |
Mental health problem is big in the military, police and society in general. We have not even started addressing it yet. |
But why we dudu nor even get shame? Ah ah! Father & son? |
He still has plenty of Rivers stolen money stashed away. Time for him to buy delegates for Buhari like he did in Lagos presidential primaries last time. This time if directly primary, he will to buy even more people. This is better to deplete his stolen money than using EFCC. All this people up North, too much political sense nor go kill them. ![]() Meanwhile, agama lizard of Ubima dey smile like okpo wey dem chuk chuk prick for im toto. ![]() |
Butterflyleo:Indefinitely. Although in 9ja that could mean until close to 2023 election when campaign and election money will be needed again. ![]() |
Shirer:Far from the above. I just said firstborn is about 35% and all kids 25%. I only explained why firstborn is more. If a woman is dating a guy that's smooth enough to lead to marriage soon, how can one justify dating other guys or having one stand stands during that relationship? There is no way any woman helpless in both circumstances. Unless it was rape and she could not bring herself to talk about it. A rape victim in modern times would urgently consider emergency contraceptive and PEP. |
Africans just dey form. Just want to belong. So far it is Oyinbo style. We nor just get direction or destination, just perambulating. Black man will name his child Minerva but will not call it Esubiyi. Minerva is Roman goddess of wisdom. He will name his beautiful daughter Diana. But he will not call her Olokun or or Sango after any African god or goddess. Diana is Graeco-Roman goddess of hunting. They will call their son Mars (Roman god of war) but not Ogun, a local god of war. #OurMumuNeverDo? |
Dudeweedlmao:Even Air Nigeria would be better. Like Air France. Or Nigerian Airlines. I was wondering why we loath continuity. Nigerian Airways was iconic until mid-1980s. Why not continue with that name? It doesn't mean the new airline will have the liabilities of the old one. Better still, why can't FG pay off monies owed to former workers of the old airways? |
Murdered. They should examine her love life/rivalry & business dealings. RIP. |
If the masses in Kano have really taken this beer prohibition into their hearts, then why is there such a huge market that 12 million were seized in 7 years? Assuming another 12 million bottles were not detected, who drank the non-detected ones? Aliens from mars? ![]() |
Konisewu:Not really. Win all Nations Cup qualification games and the cup in February and reach QF of FIFA WC. |
Oyindidi:You seem to portray honesty as looking down. What guys say here on social media is what out of politeness they cannot tell women in real life. So maybe women should listen and see where they go wrong. Because when a guy flees because a girl doesn't cut it, he will not give you feed back or review so that you can learn from. Even if he did bitterness will not allow common sense prevail at that point. Women then resort to "men are scum" chorus. So they make same mistakes over and over again. As for women I have seen here over time that their complaints about men boil down to (1) money (2) infidelity. All professions and education are now open to women. Therefore women can now earn own money. Regarding infidelity, women openly advocate "do not put all your eggs in one basket". Meaning having multiple boyfriends until wedding night. Because of that we now have 50% of kids in some cases belonging to other men outside. As some continue the old habit in marriage. Is addressing this hypocritical situation now looking down on women for example?? Many uncomfortable truths for both genders will have to be told in the years ahead. We will be forced to by events beyond our control even if we do not want to. |
Oyindidi:Oyin, who was scammed by one "not so smart" 9ja man one time like that with sick wife story? ![]() Again you underestimate 9ja guys. That 9ja guys are generous is not foolishness. They understand 9ja women and their ways too much. So they close one eye and play along mostly. So long they also get what the want. So everyone is happy. ![]() |
Undiluted truth. 9ja men may have their flaws but they hit on ladies with confidence. There are some beauties out there who intimidate guys. But 9ja nor get time. They hit. Most 9ja men are very generous especially if they have. Because they have very financially demanding women back home. After the "9ja women school" they have to be generous compared with other African men. Nigerians guys abroad also hustle hard. A few do so the wrong way (which typically makes headlines) but that hustling spirit makes local men in foreign African countries look like slackers. Women like people who can take control of their own lives wherever they may be. Like them or loath them, 9ja men fit that bill. |
This encourages jungle justice sadly. When you tell people Nigeria is irredeemable, people start pretending due to politics that all will be well. They should have just blinded or amputated them or both before dumping somewhere. Nigerian Police is the worst institution in Nigeria. |
missimelda01:This soup nor be here o. Abeg how much for a bowl of this soup? ![]() |
OmoManU:This is much more complex. Unemployment is a big issue leading to crime. This has to do with the wider economy. If FG cannot provide necessary equipment for NPF, then let them give police to States or Regions to manage. SW Police or SE Police Service will know where to focus on. Federal Police can focus on crimes that go across state borders or certain offenses designated as Federal crimes. Why should states spend resource that could go into education or state roads on things FG constitutionally is duty-bound to do? Why should we accept FG mediocrity and blame states for FG's job not done? States have enough mediocrity of their own, so let's blame them for their duties they have failed at, not FG's failure. We should not allow hatred for one man like Fayose make us bend the truth to suit us. |
Nice. |
saajus:Even 1 trillion in 10 years will be huge task. We import too much and manufacture little. So which sectors will provide such growth? Agric & food processing will help but not by much. If we could encourage IT sector, mobile technology/smartphones to rival Chinese products and dominate African market at least, we have a chance. Then financial sector and mortgage financing system will also help. Of course electricity and infrastructure will be first to be provided. |
