OmoManU:Haba! You need to consider the financial power of Ekiti compared to Lagos. As of today the Nigerian Police is under FG. FG/NPF choose police commissioners. Buhari is Chief Security Officer of NIGERIA, not just Abuja. Ekiti is one of about 10 or 12 States that should never have been created. These states have little allocation but expected to run a full bureaucracy of State government, House of Assembly, MDAs, etc. Barely enough money to pay recurrent expenditure/salaries. |
ogakizito:Lol. Even some old "Maale" dey scatter pidgin pass this woman sef. Na just regular stuff around there. ![]() |
Shirer:Please see this thread below on fake paternity & see firstborn kids aspect. I forgot to add the link earlier. https://www.nairaland.com/4741447/paternity-fraud-nigeria-dna-test |
Rochas has a point. Acid rain destroys statues. ![]() |
For once a good decision. They should never have wasted our money on it to begin with. All that expensive London launch. FG has no business starting any commercial venture to find investors later. It will become another conduit pipe and would never fly. Our cumbersome and corrupt bureaucracy alone easily put off any honest investors. Even corruption friendly Lebanese and Indian investors cannot see it making profits. Most airlines run very tiny profit margins. Even the very best among them. |
Nigerian press have been cowered and pocketed by FG. Leah Sharibu hardly matters any more to them. |
nazablossom:Two acquaintances who tried bringing their kids born in Nigeria to Europe, in both cases their kids were not theirs, because of embassy paternity test requirements, they were Yoruba people. They would probably never have done the tests if not for family re-union purposes. As it stands promiscuity is widespread. To pretend that only SW or SE or SW does it is to be hypocritical. Somebody commented earlier today on this thread that in his lab where a high failure rate is found had mostly Yoruba/SW clients. |
Shirer:Please see this thread on fake paternity. Also see the higher rate of firstborn kids. |
I have said it here many times before. Nothing new. At least 25% of all kids belong to another man. Around 35% of firstborn kids belong to another man. Higher in poorer high density urban areas even. |
Michelle55:Africans mostly do not see the "Mother" in Mother-In-Law. They only see the ........In-Law. Maybe our culture doesn't emphasize that mother in it as only blood ties matter. For a MIL without dementia or some age-related issues to slap her DIL, her character must stink to high heavens. As far as I can remember, you cannot slap an elderly person back in our culture. Let alone your FIL or MIL. But my other ways to retaliate would be worse than slapping her back if I was a woman. Unless there is unreserved apology and assuming she was totally wrong. |
Awful. RIP to the innocent wee tots. |
RIP. |
Ezenwammadu:He meant out of poverty into destitution. ![]() |
Considering Nigeria's population, that is little amount of wealth. Below $1trillion is insufficient for almost 200 million people. Especially as around 10% of population might control over 60% of the wealth anyway. |
spiralwedge:In your opinion which politician since 1979 has done better than GEJ? Tell someone who actually witnessed all those regimes. The hatred was that he shouldn't have been there. He was not meant to be there by power brokers. Not about his performance. In a brutish country, a gentleman is an anomaly. In a gra-gra environment, a law-abiding person is mumu. That is how low we have sunken. It wasn't do or die politics for him. Maybe in 50 years Nigeria will have civilised to that point. Buhari that cried, begged and tried in 3 elections before winning, and supposedly prepared, what has he achieved? Oluwole NYSC finance minister, NSA, IGP and others out of control? Over 7 million jobs lost, IBERIA and other companies who fled? Wow! What a great preparation. ![]() You asserted that he was not on top of his game. Is game what is important or performance? You did not sensibly argue that he did not do all the things that I pointed out that he delivered. People said oil price was high so he made much money. But nobody mentions that it also meant high landing price of imported petrol and high subsidy that he paid. Now APC says subsidy has gone up because oil price has gone up. Was that not also the case during GEJ's time? Buhari is still paying huge subsidy that he said didn't exist. |

FarahAideed:Amen. I thought Duke was wiser. But he just get fine face for nothing. Like many of those slay queens. He made the wrong noises too much. Himself, Amaechi and several others were madly envious of Jonathan. They thought they deserved VP that led to his presidency more. GEJ didn't have to plot or scheme to get there. He was patient and relied on fate/God. In fact Nigeria is suffering & will suffer more for the evil, bigotry and worse that we allowed power brokers to haul at GEJ. I was a critic of GEJ in his first year as president. I thought being young, he should quickly make a mark on infrastructure, light & education (as a former lecturer). Because they might kill him, deny him second term, or scheme to impeach him. But by second year he was doing great things, economy was growing, repaired roads like Lagos-Benin road (neglected since early 90s), railway (also rotted away since early 90s), hundreds of Almajiri schools, new Fed universities, economy boomed, agric policy on track, electricity situation improved and more. I was impressed. But the more he did, the more Lagos-Ibadan press lambasted him. It became clear to me that it was not about performance but sheer bigotry and "owners of Nigeria" not tolerating minority tribe ruler. All that was again confirmed during Oil Subsidy protests. It was time to scrap oil subsidy, save money and repair refineries. But the SW and Northern people who largely own the companies scamming the subsidy system mobilised their large populations to protest. Not to mention the masterminded political stunt of Chibok girls kidnap to undermine GEJ govt. All will reap what they sowed. I have no tribal kinship or political ties with GEJ by the way. |
Morbeta11:. Hmmmm. Such is life. |
RIP to the deceased, speedy recovery to the injured. |
It shows the shallowness and arse-kissing nature of so-called "youth". At 57, you are still sacrificing yourself for a geriatric guy. To be given SGF, Chief of Staff, NSA or a ministry? Obama who is a few months younger than Ribadu has already served 8 years and gone. David Cameron at 51 served 6 years that ended some years back. Macron is barely 40. Trudeau of Canada is 46. Chancellor/Prime Minister of Austria Kurz is 32. By the time Ribadu will get a chance to rule, his brain matter will have been scatter-balanced by dementia like Buhari. |
wunmi590:Which one was fingered in the murder of Bola Ige those days? I remember somebody claiming he was accused to cover up the death of Osun House of Assembly man Odunayo Olagbaju. |
jayson87:Zombies are just hateful zealots. They says GEJ rakes in high oil money. But they deliberately left out the huge subsidy cost at the time. |
SmartyPants:She illegally got into positions which earned her lots of salaries in private industry, Ogun state govt and FG cabinet. Obtaining salaries through fraud/deception. We have not even investigated/examined the contracts she approved as commissioner & minister. Abeg do not let tribalism blind you guys. This "we must defend one of our own by any means" must stop or we go no where. NYSC documents are FG documents. Forging it is a crime. |
GoTV:NOPE! Please do not let tribe or political affiliation blind you. Her explanation is useless. Holds no water. I wish I can see here here in UK I will tell it to her face. She just set back the credibility of women in high positions. Govt can appoint them but makes the work of people like me and others who want a female president soonest much harder. Since women just now seem as sleazy and untrustworthy like the men in politics. They will now quote Diezani, Pat Etteh & Kemi as prime examples. We have UK born kids. If at least on parent is 9ja then the child is also automatically 9ja at birth. Obtaining Nigerian passport at 34 makes no difference. Many Nigerians are 89 or more and they have never held a passport. But it does not mean they are not Nigerians from birth. She visited Nigeria several times on UK passport & visa perhaps just to avoid the whole agro and bureaucracy of applying for 9ja passport. Many Nigerians with foreign passport still use visa to travel to 9ja. BUT it doesn't mean she was not aware (or her parents not aware) she was a Nigerian in 1989 when she finished polytechnic in London. She could have applied for Nigerian passport then and go do NYSC. Many of us do not like NYSC but the law is the law. You may not like Lagos taxes or PHCN bills but you still pay anyway. You can through you NASS member push for a Bill to scrap NYSC. That is your right. But not retro-actively. She committed a crime. If drugs was found in your luggage at MMA, you cannot explain it away that another person put it your bag or that you were not aware it's narcotics. Even if true, ignorance is no defence. Majority of diaspora born Nigerians still do not do NYSC. I even advise many to go but safety/security issues are their polite excuse or they already have a job lined up. The professional courses graduates need to embark on mandatory post-qualification board training. Many cannot even envisage ever going to live and work in Nigeria as Nigerians, maybe as expatriates. Kemi must have felt same way then. Only to get sumptuous opportunities through Wale Edun & Amosun. So she needed NYSC exemption which she had no grounds to get legally. So Oluwole came to the rescue. For a long time until Premium Times blew it all open. ![]() Please let's call a spade a spade. |
Mosesm:To pay back GEJ?? Those who say APC have so much obsession with GEJ might have a point. GEJ is not 200 million Nigerians. Anybody can decide to stay away from any debate but it is very immature and downright silly to do so becausec of much hatred for only one man. |
flowmama:They were parading many suspects, 24 I think, as police commissioners do periodically. Trust police, they might even have added some arms already shown last time. They need to appear to be doing a great job. If that many guns are seized each time genuinely, there should hardly be any left in circulation by now. ![]() |
Johnnyessence:Help me ask them how many debates Buhari took part in the run up to 2015 election. Buhari spent more time speaking at Chatham House in London & talking to foreign journalists abroad than he did (total of 53 minutes of speech in all his nationwide political rallies) than telling Nigerians his plans for the country. |
Sholaystar4me:There's something about Benz sha. No other car has the stamina, the solidity, the feel and the "Je ne sais quoi" of Benz. Others may look sexier or more streamline. But if e nor Panadol, e nor fit be like Panadol. |
Gten:Inde-kini? So you were still dreaming of institutional independence of agencies under Buhari/APC? With the selective corruption cases of EFCC and all? ![]() But it's quite interesting though. EFFC now cntradicts Buhari who said Abacha never stole. While they're riling against HSBC, they should help us ask HSBC about $2.8 billion Buhari as Federal Petroleum Commissioner (Petroleum Minister) stashed away with Midland Bank (taken over by HSBC in 1992 & name fully changed to HSBC in 1999) in London. At least we're getting somewhere. People easily forget now that in 1983, the late Senator Dr Olusola Saraki (Bukola's dad) was the head of the senate committee that indicted Buhari over $2.8 billion from his time as Petroleum Minister from 1977 to 1978. The money was even easily traced to Buhari's account at Midland Bank! Shagari, his fellow Faulani man, dithered with the Committee findings. While he dithered, Buhari and his jackboot colleagues struck! I find it very strange that ordinarily well-educated people, especially those from SW, claim Buhari was not involved in 1983 coup. ![]() As with Dasuki, Buhari has a very big axe to grind with Dr Bukola Saraki for his father's temerity to investigate him as senate leader in 1983. The result would have all but ended Buhari's military career and even earned him jail time had Shagari listened to Umaru Dikko. Dikko of course mistrusted Buhari massively and wanted him retired anyway. Dikko was later kidnapped by Buhari in London. Decades before Billionaire Kidnapper Evans began his own locally! |
Lol. Future employers will want to check out this very public scandal. Adeosun found out that she could not legitimately get any exemption retro-actively. No severe medical condition or any other valid reason when she finished her HND at the polytechnic in East London aged 22. So she connived with some associates to get an Oluwole exemption certificate. ![]() |
There are girls under 25 who are mentally & emotionally mature. But the vast majority are still in school, at home with parents, just newly found freedom and just recently enjoying male attention. It's also and age many are beginning to enjoy money & consumerism. They feel they are mature, experienced and smart when most aren't. At that age pressure from society, parents & friends to setlle down is often still minimal. That quickly changes from around age of 27 or even earlier. Most will eventually get a reality check. Although it's not necessarily about age but there's no substitute for experience. |
