dreamwords:Actually a woman harbouring diseases without knowing will suffer more serious long term consequences. Like pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), with infertility issues that can cause. A guy that develops symptoms sooner can get treatment more promptly. |
Pearlyakin:Both are different. FBI is like basically federal police that prevents, investigates & solve crimes that break federal laws of USA. CIA is basically like DSS. More concerned about national security threats especially from abroad. A country with so much international reach & threats therefrom needs it. In Nigeria we have no state police (We only have zonal commands & state police branches from zonal commands all controlled from Louise Edet House in Abuja) so all of police is already federal. So no point in having double corruption agencies that are themselves corrupt. We just do not have the resources for such expensive duplication. DSS, NPF, EFCC, ICPC, the list is endless. |
Nice. |
The way people still use church-going to assume someone is responsible is laughable. In my observation all types of very bad people are the majority in churches. Hoes, kidnappers, yahoo yahoo, armed robbers, corrupt politicians/officers and all manners are there. OP you're very lucky you found out so soon. Or you would have helped her train her child and she'd have frustrated you and move on. In any case she has at least one other guy already. All the stories she told you about her ex and circumstances is probably a complete lie. ![]() |
Pearlyakin:ICPC was always very dull doing its job. A former ICPC staff told me that he spent more time collecting money from suspected corrupt entities in advance of & subsequent to "raids/visits" than doing any meaningful job. Money for ICPC oga dem of course. I was shocked. This was about 13 years ago already. It should be scrapped. Duplication of the function of the better known and slightly better EFFC. RIP. |
thesicilian:Seconded. Not everything that happens in this world is the will of God or remote-controlled by God. Job in the Bible clearly shows it. There is always struggle between Good & evil. Even our African ancestors knew that long before Europeans came. Esu (devil) in charge of evil was even made a deity in the hope he could be pacified or manipulated to not allow evil or make him to visit evil only on the enemies. Pretty creative and philosophical in the absence of Western religious understanding of religion. In the case of Job, God tolerated satan's punishment of Job. But Job as a righteous man had everything restored. It means the devil can visit evil including disease, bereavement, poverty, etc. Without it being the will God. It wasn't God's will even he tolerated it. Unlike Job not everyone has the righteousness and might not be restored. However it shows that God can restore or save whoever he wants from the hands of satan. |
It is not that which goes into the body that defiles the body but that which comes from it. If it's reasonable, nutritious, not poisonous and given to you out of friendship, if you like the food I see no reason to refuse. Certain no Christian religious reason. Otherwise it is just extreme interpretation that Christians were not taught by Jesus or early leaders like Peter, John, Matthew, Paul and others. Upon Jesus' death & resurrection, Christians were liberated from the Jewish/Mosaic dietary requirements. That is why pork and many others are no more taboos like the Jews still practice today. |
alimaa:Look, you have no business coming here for advise until you have sounded out your wife. I presume you dated her for a while and now married for 3 years. You should know her temperament, relationship with this sister/family and how much common sense she has. You also have no business talking to your sister-in-law. You should be telling your wife how it affects your privacy with her. Ask her why she has stayed this long. It appears to me your wife thinks it's ok. Or shy/reluctant to discuss it with you. Your wife ought to know that visiting & staying that long without seeking your consent is not cool. |
Nice pics. I saw two things and gave up. It is called "cenotaph", not CINOTAPH. The other is reversal of history. Madam Tinubu was a SLAVE TRADER. Any later change was under duress from the colonial masters. With industrial age (engines, machines just developed) man power had become less important. |
Ofemannnu:It is true. Lagos State lost lots of money already paid. Nigeria was setback by decades because of 1984 coup. Jakande was the last real governor to make a massive impact until Fashola came. Just the housing Estates alone that Jakande constructed is amazing. Had he completed his second term till 1987, it would have been extraordinary. Bendel, Imo, Anambra, Benue, Kaduna and many other states did well too. If not because Buhari needs reelection, he probably would have cancelled most of these projects Jonathan started. |
Fact is most people are "set in their sexual ways" by the time they marry or by the time they get into a long term relationship. Only very few are ready to change. Most are sexually selfish. The man focuses on orgasm. women not ready to break sweat (stay in the least energy consuming position). Of late religious hypocrisy has come on top. You see questions on forums like: does the Bible allow giving a head? Is doggy not too animalistic for a born again Christian? ![]() Like WTF! Some who had a bad/violent sex experience may never fully enjoy sex again, let alone satisfy the partner. |
You know not everyone in 9ja does their job professionally. She should have got references from her/wedding planner's former clients first. Once the wedding is over just move on. Nigeria is place where people tolerate mediocrity at all levels. The complainant will get more people against him (or her in this case) than the person who offered poor unprofessional services. Nigeria is a place where envy, bad belle and tribalism determine's people's opinion far more than sense of fairness or what's right & wrong. |
This may be one of the few truths to come from a senior APC member. Consider the message before the messenger. The now Saint Amaechi said something almost similar a few years back. Amaechi "stoning" politicians to stop corruption. But we took it with levity. We deserve the politicians we get. |

PrettySleek:True. Everybody should care, including women. Almost every woman has a son, father, uncle, nephew, male friends who can be victims of domestic violence. That your post has garnered so few replies, almost from women and certainly not close to making FP shows how little relevance society pays to male victims of domestic abuse. Thank God you're in healthcare sector to see the gravity of the matter. CC: Seun, Mods, Mynnd, |
See typical Africans reacting like chemical. ![]() Yet Steve Jobs who developed Apple/Iphone (what as typical everlasting consumers, we are consuming relentlessly) was gay. Elton John and many out there are gay. Is gay worse than married women having affairs, and giving other men's kids to their husbands at home? Is it worse than a man fvcking the wife of his best friend? I only see hypocrisy and typical obsession with sex here .Ancient Graeco-Romans like Alexander The Great, Caesar and many others were gay or bisexual. Even before Jesus. And the world did not end since. Africans that should focus of eradicating poverty, diseases, corruption, tribalism, terrorism and ignorance are focusing on misplaced priority. How does the hole anyone fvcks affect me if no child is molested and they do not bother me or the public with it? |
LordofNaija:You dey mind the mumu Momoh ? |
lolipopandy:Yep. |
ZombiePUNISHER:Since at least 2000 years. Scientist who said the earth was round were burnt at stake. Learned people who invented tech to print Bible in poplular European languages (except Latin) did not have it easy in Europe. Religion has opposed vaccination & contraception for ages now. And we know the consequences. There is a BIG battle currently going on. Some Pentecostal churches are telling their chronically ill brethren to stop taking life saving medicines for diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. That they have been healed miraculously. We are losing people as young as in their 40s to kidney disease, heart attack and stroke as a result even among Pentecostal church members here in Europe. I know this first hand, not told. So dude ignorance is no excuse. Find out if you want to know. |
IDeyNL:Abeg just forget those guys that speak from both sides of their mouth. After a Northerner died in power, and OBJ completed 8 years just over 3 years earlier, should GEJ have appointed a Yoruba man as VP? There are people who like to be dishonest and can never be counted upon because they change more often than the chameleon changes colour. Did GEJ not appoint ministers from all SW states as the constitution demands? Were Abati & Doyin Okupe not some of the most visible faces in GEJ govt? I remember Johnson, Ashiru, Akinjide, Obada, Olubolade & Aganga in his cabinet. Olasunkanmi & Kayode also served briefly. SW lambasting GEJ was only on ethnocentric grounds. While they will allow Northern masters (in the same way Sultan of Sokoto is boss of around 50% of Yoruba people as Muslims) to call the shots unhindered, they cannot accept if power is in the South and they are not controlling things. They expected Jonathan to be their boy-boy. But they do not know that even the most gentle and quiet SS person is still very stubborn. And can be extremely principled and damn any consequences if he feels undermined. They just saw same with Oyegun too. The biggest fallacy is this idea religion has no political influence on SW. The North have always used it to divide Yoruba people, to give them a false sense of belonging whenever the North need their service to take power or consolidate. They used SL Akintola, Abiola, Akinloye & Omoboriowo in the same way against Pa Awo. ![]() |
IBB Na only you waka come? You think we are kids not to know your antics of yesteryears? Sho mo age mi?? |
Have zoologists confirmed this finding? Or they are just snakes that look similar? it might even be a species not known in Nigeria before now. |
I just think of serious back pain loading. |
3millionia:If indeed this story is not made up, you think this is physical? As in use syringe/needle to draw blood from OP like a nurse or suck it like anopheles mosquito and squirt on the floor? Hehehehe. ![]() |
opyzy:Easy choice really. A Jew going to live in a Jewish State. |
RIP. |
Sirpaul:Like Banky West ran fast from Adesua Etomi, OBJ from Stella, T. Danjuma from Daisy, Mercy Johnson from Odion. |
SamuelAnyawu:Another statue dey hungry you? Nor let Okorocha see am for Imo o. ![]() |
OP made some salient points but he didn't consider the cultural and socio-economic milieu that provide a fertile ground for the way our women behave. Despite all the Mills & Boon and Telemundo love stories we have consumed in recent decades, we remain Africans. Living largely in Africa ( some now in diaspora). Africa is a place with a precarious socio-economic environment. Therefore survival is the first rule. Lately appearing to be wealthy has been added. Since time immemorial in Africa, women always wanted a man who can provide for his family even in lean times. While the woman supports him, be it in his farm, orchard or fishing, etc. The man is the MAIN provider. The very second that role is reversed and she becomes the provider and the man her cheerleader, there's bound to be trouble in Paradise. Only very few women can be main provider without being disrespectful or showing attitude. It is irrelevant whether you used your money to first set up her business for her, used your cabbie or janitor hard earned money to send her to nursing school in America or however you contributed to her success. If you ever remind her how you laboured to sponsor her, she'll accuse you of being jealous of her success or insecure. In the eyes of most women, your ability to provide is what makes you a man. Otherwise you're basically "impotent". ![]() For Tiwa, Tbillz lost respect when he began to depend on her or not providing. Not even her good income could change that. Her hubby's contribution to her career rise is irrelevant. Most women are used to things being done for them, so long they open their legs for you once, they consider their debt already repaid. As a celeb Tiwa was always going to frequently meet economically successful men. Success makes men sexy. Nothing else. In a way you cannot really blame women. It is the prevailing culture. In the same way women will tolerate their men having many women as long as he's rich and generous. ![]() |
bisi16:Try to correct them and they'll call you broke-ass. Whereas if their mothers had waited for "already-made" men they'd never have been born at all. Because such men would never have been available. Nobody wants to help a man struggle, buy piece of land and start molding blocks. They want to move into a swanky house from wedding reception. So they insist on court weeding so that when things go awry, they begin follow the man drag what the man acquired all by himself before marriage. The few correct women who help a man plan and succeed together get respect from their man and inlaws. But empty heads like to give an example with one foolish man (a rare outlier) that maltreated the wife that struggled with him to succeed. |
