In USA'94 we had the quality. We have no Finidi George or Adepoju to boss the wing. Even no Ikpeba quality. Never Mind Yekini, Amokachi or Amunike.

Rohr's formation actually gives more flexibility considering the low quality we have at our disposal.

With USA'94 formation, Siasia could push forward, knowing Keshi would marshall Okechukwu and Eguavoen behind him.

We have no leaders who can read the game well. Keshi & Eguavoen were very good at that. That formation played to their strengths. If not for simple lapses and inexperience, 1994 squad could have beaten any side.

I can see why Okocha likes 4-4-2. His 1990s/2000s Eagle squads did well using it. But it doesn't suit all squads.

The whole problem actually began in Western Region. Between SL Akintola & Awolowo. Then Awolowo was imprisoned. That was the first crisis in Nigeria that heated up the polity. Balewa/Ahmadu Bello used SLA against Awo, declared State of Emergency in the West and sent Pa Awo to prison. Ever wondered why Awo was not killed on January 15th 1966? Not just because he wasn't in govt. He was seen as the main victim of Northern oppression.

Those young officers were angry over perception that Northern politicians and their Southern collaborators were oppressing Southern leaders. Alliance between the West and North was not Always cosy. Awo as a progressive politician could not do business with feudalistic conservative North or become their junior partner.

Awo basically had little choice but to support Gowon when civil war broke out. He was not siding with just the North as many claim these days.

He also had MidWest & West. He could not have persuaded West & Midwest to support Biafra as things were then, though no evidence that he wanted to. Though looking back, the West missed the opportunity to break free and become the most progressive and socially cohesive Country in black Africa.

This is a very African way of seeing things and it doesn't allow us make progress. We cannot keep wondering why the West are far ahead of us. It is mostly attitudinal difference.

Autopsy may not resurrect people but it has many important roles.

Firstly to establish cause of death. It seems obvious it was an accident but it might tell us what contributed to the accident.

For example the driver could have had a heart attack just before hitting the Mack truck. A brain tumour could have triggered a fit at that moment or affected co-ordination & motor functions/reaction speed/vision/perception of the driver. People routinely conceal medical conditions for fear of losing their job. Even more so in a country with few jobs.

If such previous medical condition was present, it could make the Transport Company introduce a more rigorous and regular medical for drivers. That will protect me and you better long term.

If indeed the driver was not under the influence of drug/alcohol and no medical condition, perhaps their drivers need a better "hazard perception" training and tests. Also of course for insurance purposes to compensate families of the deceased. Many who die in such accidents daily are breadwinners with young families.

See two examples I know. One person died suddenly in Europe and another died suddenly in Nigeria around 11 months apart some years ago.

The one who died in Europe has kids both in Europe & Nigeria. Autopsy showed that he died of a congenital heart condition that is hard to diagnose until death/autopsy. His kids in Europe are being monitored by cardiologists to see if they have inherited the condition. Meanwhile the kids in Nigeria are not being monitored. So the kids in Nigeria are to be relocated so they can be monitored too.

The man who died in Nigeria had an autopsy done yet nothing was found. Perhaps not thorough enough or no facilities to do it well.

A lot of illnesses we understand better today are thanks to autopsies that helped understand the way they start, progress and their effects that lead to death/debilitation.

While death is irreversible, knowledge got from studying cause of death can benefit the living immensely.

You can have both plus money....and still not enough for most women. Although the money might keep them grounded, pretend if they have to.

Separation of family is not great. But there is separation due to work within Nigeria. Lots of workers in Abj, PH and Lagos have wife & kids in Akure, Enugu, Ibadan, Jos, Damaturu, Yenagoa, Owerri, Modakeke or other towns where life is cheaper, they own a nice house, less crime, etc. Some visit every month end or fortnightly. The arrangement has worked for many over decades. But life is changing. The moral fibre of yester-years is no more.
For many immigration has brought massive benefits to both nuclear and extended family. There are few jobs in 9ja. If not for emigration the level of poverty & crime would have been unimaginable.

Couples should be honest with themselves if they are not cut out for long distance family thing. No matter the economic benefit therefrom.

That you stay with your wife or hubby in same house is no guarantee he or she will not cheat. There is no clear evidence that all those lecturers that sleep with their students upandan have their wives living abroad.

We Africans mostly do not understand the things we have adopted and practice: justice, law enforcement, politics/democracy, religion, etc.

It is this deficiency that makes our society substandard in all ramifications.

People have this delusion that God remote-controls everything and a pastor somehow has a direct line to God. In civilized societies, we have to consider mentally evaluating anyone who claims that he speaks directly to God. FACT in practice.

If God was to directly order a believer to marry a particular person, it would be to fulfill an important will of God. AND the circumstance would be one frowned upon or very unpalatable in the culture/environment and time of the directive. It could be to marry someone with a serious known disease, a mad person, someone society rejects, etc. Not just to choose one normal brother or sister from among the brethren.

That was the case with Joseph in the Bible. Imagine the scandal of marrying a pregnant teenager 2000 years ago in conservative religious climes of Judea. Joseph would never have married Mary if not directed by God.

As much as it might disappoint many, there's nothing special about you that God must send an angel or pastor to tell you to marry sister Jennifer or brother Johnbull that sits two rows behind you in church every Sunday.

No married women are allowed to have consensual sex with another man in our culture. But there is no explicit rule forbidding married men from doing so. In fact it cuts across many cultures over milenia. From Abraham, David, Solomon, Alexander The Great, Julius Caesar, JFK and Bill Clinton despite even the risk of impeachment.

I suggested earlier that anyone who deems our culture bad can board the next flight to a place they consider of superior culture. Be it Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Yemen, Afghanistan, etc. Even USA with a pussy grabbing president.
