TheLordIsGr8:If she go try that rough play with the Americo guy, she'll soon know the number of guns the dude has. ![]() People kill for more trivial things in yankee. The karma that will hammer the born-throway lawyer lady is eating concentrated protein, gymning like mad and training like Rocky Balboa. ![]() NB: The jilted hubby used to be a heart breaker as a student until he met and fell in love with the future runaway wife. |
Things dey happen. |
solasoulmusic:Correct. People are applauding her. What she did is a crime and can be jailed for it. Cheating is not a crime. Morally wrong for sure. But we all need to obey the law. There are legal things she can do. Like divorcing him and claiming child support & alimony. |
Skepticus:Sadly even in the West where education is available, there are still many efulefu. Criminals and miscreants. Many kidnappers are actually educated. When Pete Edochie was released by kidnappers, he appealed to govt to create jobs. Because the kidnappers were educated but jobless. Yes nobody should be left behind. But as we all know, govt cannot even help many brilliant young succeed yet. Much less those that need much more assistance. We are not there yet. |
Pure evil. Rip. |
sinaj:Would a Christian president visiting Kaduna during Eid be acceptable? I purposely cited Kaduna because it has a sizeable Christian population like Lagos has Muslims. . |
Politics is very murky. Too many entrenched interests. Hard to know who is with whom or against whom in reality. |
Good job. It would have been better to allow air enter the compound freely, no fence, just flower hedges as in the past or very low fence. But everyone is scared of insecurity. Drastically increasing cost of a standard house. |

Good post. |
Great initiative. |
cityofindustry:9ja na serious country? You think that redneck called it sh!thole for nothing? ![]() |
podosci:Ok sir |
Earthquake1:Correct. On one journey, I saw a 9ja lady of about 55 to 60 years old stand gently in queues in European airports. Both at departure and transit. She was hard not to notice due to her outrageously eccentric and colorful bold attire. At MMA this lady was pushing & shoving to get to the front. It so pissed me off that our conversation went a bit like this: Me: Ma please be patient, we are all going to same desk. Colourful lady (CL): Is it only you that is here? Why are you the only one complaining? Me: Just because others are not complaining doesn't mean they like what you are doing. CL: It is not your business if I move any how I want. Me: It is my business ma. You near pulled my rucksack down from my shoulder. Ma I am just saying that we all need to be disciplined. I saw you waiting patiently in European airports. If we want our country to get better we must bring the same civilised behaviour here. CL:: Ehen, don't you see that I am an elder? Me: Madam when it's your turn they will call you. Just be patient. At this point one immigration officer saw her and called her to come forward. CL: You see, be mumu there. She walked away gleefully. I wonder why she felt she won. She was just called as I had explained before. In 9ja we claim entitlements using various excuses: age, position, etc. But we're the first to flout basic rules and cause disorder. A woman that must be close to 60, still very agile and behaves impeccably in Europe. But upon breathing 9ja air quickly reverts to molue passenger behaviour. Where being gentle equals mumu. |
NoRetreat:You sabi think. Northern leaders are also part of it. They may soon invite him to join Emirs Council up North. He already admires them and say how united they are. Not being conversant with history, he has forgotten that most Northern Emirs are related. Aside Shehu of Borno and a few others. Ancestors of those emirs were relatives or warriors of Dan Fodio. A mere 200 years ago. All well-documented as even Dan Fodio was literate and wrote many books & tracts. Whereas the story of Yoruba Obas descending from Oduduwa is more shrouded in myths. With several obas claiming supremacy, including Oyo, Ife, Ugbo and even this Iwo guy. Because it wasn't documented as it happened very long ago. Everybody now claims Oduduwa as father. Politically good to unite Yoruba people but clearly flawed as the bickering now shows. Whereas in the North the Sultan of Sokoto has undisputed supremacy, even extending to all Nigerian Muslims including Alafin of Oyo & Oba of Lagos. At least in religious terms. Soon, considering the influence of the North on FG irrespective of whether Christian or Muslim president, some Iwo sons & daughters may soon be getting plum FG jobs/positions just to compensate the new emirate. This may entice other Yoruba Obas to follow the example of Oluwo. Seeing it as a way of benefiting from FG. |
gominau:Before nko? Saraki, El-Rufai, Amaechi, Ngige, Obanikoro, etc, and all those former PDP ministers and federal legislators running APC are now saints o. ![]() You will soon see Saint El-Rufai Secondary School in Kaduna. |
podosci:Great Work. How much will build this structure in Ibadan , Ogun State & Edo/Delta? If increased to 5 bedrooms , 2 bedrooms downstairs and 3 upstairs, how much roughly will it cost in the places mentioned above? Do you have more streamline designs without columns and without roof parapet? Those that look like Mediterranean or Florida designs. Thanks. |
Sunnynwa:I concur. Because 9ja designs mostly have no class, they become dated too soon. But class is permanent. The mock opulent buildings are just too naff and so much in your face. They show our inclination to overbuild. I am a sucker for streamline and somewhat symmetrical designs any day. |

Happy Easter! |
My opinion is YES & NO. YES in that it depends on culture & personality. In Africa we lay much emphasis on respect. Also much emphasis on wife being submissive to hubby as culturally & religiously expected. If you try correcting her she might say "you're not even senior to me, how dare you correct me?" So the way you both flow during courtship will be a pointer. Assuming any of you do not suddenly bring out a hidden "character" after your wedding. Like being a control freak, stubborn and never accepting being wrong, etc. NO if you both have a modern relaxed out look, take decisions jointly, have understanding families who are not meddlesome and not particularly traditional. In terms of hubby-wife position in the family. Other things can be sorted. Another plus side is that you both have more or less same experience of life. That is great for friendship in marriage as your memories of life & time will be similar. No chance to lecture each other on how things used to be long ago. ![]() Some here on NL claim women age faster, well gone are the days women had 9 or more children that ruined the body with so much stress. There are gyms now. People can also now eat sensibly & healthily. So many women can now remain in top shape into early 60s. |
RuthDaniels:When did monogamy become the norm in Nigeria? It is a VERY recent Christian thing. Muslims don't even have time for it. Only few as a personal decision. Like my grand-dad. It is less than 100 years old. Of people I knew growing up, my family was one of the very few monogamous ones. Even highly educated people like lecturers. I remember some oyinbo wives divorcing hubbies in 9ja and returning abroad on finding out their hubbies had a wife & kids outside. Though economic down turn in 9ja also contributed to them leaving. Only a few short decades back. I like to be realistic. Just because one is comfortable doesn't mean there is no massive poverty around. In the same way TRULY monogamous marriages are few. Simple fact is our CULTURE encourages polygamy. The culture will still take a long time to evolve to the point where monogamy will become the norm. It might not suit you and may be it is not what you want to hear but the culture is BIGGER than any one person. And biology always triumphs. All our closely related primates are polygamous. We are just higher than them in terms of brain size and functions. The way things are going men will soon be opting for baby mama. Davido, Whizkid and others are already showing how it's done. Therefore women can"vex" and decide not to marry at all. That way no fear of being cheated on or ending up in polygamy. That option is always open. But do not let anybody use sweet mouth for you, just telling you what you want to hear. Because it is VERY likely he will see another woman ONLY very few will not & only VERY few ladies will have such men. |
Nice fresh ingredients. Very good. |
sunnysunny69:I know this topic is old but let me still add something. Neither Anini nor Oyenusi were particularly brilliant in hard core armed robbery. Both were actually only good at stealing vehicles/carjacking, with Anini being an expert driver too. But Oyenusi was a kind of pioneer. A feared armed robber of his stature had not appeared until his time in the 1970s. Their fame arose from our knack of believing in superstition and juju PLUS poor investigative resources of the police then. I know a couple of people/CID involved in Anini case. Their intel was thoroughly flawed. Pictures purported to be of Anini clearly were not. Other armed robbers were also operating at the time and were blamed on Anini gang. Killing of policemen only began after police collected bribe money but refused to release Anini gang member, Kingsley Eweka. That infuriated Anini & Osunbor. But maybe considering how hot things were, the matter was already beyond the police to manipulate and release him. But Anini & Osunbor felt betrayed anyway. Even the shooting of PC Akagbosu was a mistake. Osunbor confirmed that. He said while he had no qualms killing policemen pursuing him, he had no need shooting Akagbosu who was just passing by in his convoy. I was very disappointed to listen to Anini's chat with new PC Parry Osayande on radio. He was very imbecilic. Nothing like the hype the media made us to believe. |
princechurchill:Chai! God bless you. You took it right out of my mouth. Agbonlahor got only 3 England caps. Same with late Ugo Ehiogu in the 1990s. He opted for England and got only 4 caps. Efan Ekoku opted for 9ja: won AFCON 1994, went to world cup 1994 and won 20 caps. |
Onijagidijagan:People seem to forget that Benin in particular has been a place where people came from many places to hustle. Centuries before Lagos became anything. Never mind PH. Because of the strategic position and development/organisation by African standards then. When billionaire kidnapper Evans was operating in Edo years back, I am sure bigots assumed it was Edo people only. If you even look back at Anini and Osunbor criminal gang of the 1980s, the names will tell you the ethnic mix. Morale is criminals can come from anywhere and operate anywhere. No tribe is excluded. |
CSTR1002:So long you can cope with lafindacious VJ. ![]() |
360command:Correct. But sadly in 9ja the equation is simple: Government = Failure. QED. |
Grupo:That is Africans for you. In the West, if you want to make sense to the masses in a topic like this, omit politics & religion. These are highly divisive topics. But in Africa we are still not ready to see that God has given us everything already. We're where we're because we have refused to think for ourselves and use God's/nature's abundant provision judiciously. |
Haba! Everyone knew this eons ago na. |
The guy has a point. But they also know that Nigerians are very resilient and can cope with anything. Imagine a country where people do not rely on govt for water, light, security, healthcare, etc. Even many people now send their wards to private schools from KG to university. Nollywood & Showbiz have blossomed, almost entirely on private efforts too. |
