Jerrypolo:Oders from above. Our leaders hiding money everywhere abroad do not want to offended oyinbo people. Diplomatic connotations, why? Is the suspected first degree double murder Nielsen a foreign diplomat? If not 9ja is finished. Worshipping Oyinbo anyhow. Disgraceful. |
prechbills1:Abi o. Another lady might even be pregnant for him already. His bloodline might still survive, hers will not. This kind of girl will have multiple boyfriends and sugar daddies. Safe to say that if she marries a rich guy, she's capable of killing the man for fear he might have another woman. So that she can keep all his wealth. |
Jayloy: ![]() So this doctors-JOHESU fight will never end o. At the end only the patients suffer. Everything na fight for 9ja. |
Jogunomi1:Dude with 4 kids from one man already, just stay clear. The kids will never accept you. You will always be seen as one who separated their parents. Some or all of them will loathe you. If their dad had died, I will even understand. The so-called love will not be enough. Of course a woman with 4 kids will hold tight to any man she finds. How many guys want to have 4 kids of their own these days, let alone 4 step-kids. No matter how much you provide for the kids, they will never accept you in 9ja system where only blood kinship counts. I have seen MANY sad examples of it. If the kids live with their dad in another city or country and both of you are starting almost on a clean slate, still consider it carefully first. This might be a slightly better scenario. |
This should have happened in 2015! I posted something about Fashola minutes ago on another thread before I saw this thread. |
Both the young and the old are products of the same failed system. Products of a society with misplaced priorities. Beginning right from the family home. We cannot be engaged in sharp practices in our private lives: corruption, bribery, embezzlement, indiscipline right in front of kids and expect them to grow up with any morale fibre. The older generation that grew up under European system and relative sanity have turned out so bad, how much more those that grew up seeing parents give 20 Naira police daily, bribe their way through school, etc? Yes there are individual honest people with integrity, but a corrupt system of godfathers cannot throw up such people. God fathers choose people in their own image. Tjhe ones they hope to manipulate. When on the rare occasions they cannot manipulate as intended, they create political crisis. And we go back to square one. For example which sane country will leave Fashola, fresh from his decent job in Lagos, and choose Buhari as presidential candidate, much less president? |
OGHENAOGIE:Really? What is your assessment based on. Which society is dysfunctional? In a country like UK or France, majority of the brightest students want to be doctors. It is the most over-subscribed course usually. These are countries where many other courses offer good prospects. This I know for a fact. Even since medieval times in Europe, three professions were considered great professions: Clergy, medicine & law. For the extra-ordinary dedication to humanity. We copied all these things from the West. We are not telling people to value it or not value it. The facts out there speak for themselves. I hope when your relatives or you get ill, you will want them cared for by a poorly fed and poorly paid medic. The only thing I know is that not all people who want to be doctors are naturally, emotionally or psychologically suited. It is not about prestige or money. It is about great selfless service to humanity. Dr Ameyo Adadevoh's sacrifice during Ebola crisis and medics who have died during several Lassa fever crises should quickly remind people what it's all about. |
DrGabbi:People simply have no idea what it takes to be a doc. Not even talking about academic stuff and length/intensity of training. But the physical & psychological stamina needed to cope with the work, do it to your best, deal with the suffering, perceived failure and death that become an integral part of the job. And doing all that on a poor diet cannot be easy. A relative just started medical studies in 9ja. I feel sorry him already. I just pray for him. If £40k per year tuition fee wasn't too pricey, he'd definitely not be doing it in 9ja. I cannot see him staying in the 9ja system after training. |
Lol. Not funny sir. |

Agbgift:I know post is old. But the most likely cause is malaria. Spleen may become enlarged (splenomegaly) trying to mop up red blood cells broken down by malaria parasites/plasmodium. Some also report "ude" as affecting both sides/flanks. This is likely to be due to both spleen & liver enlargement called hepatosplenomegaly. Aside malaria, other viral/parasitic infections, liver cirrhosis, leukaemia, chemotherapy drugs, etc. In sickle cell disease it can be potentially dangerous as the spleen sequesters red blood cells. I was just discussing this "ude" with someone earlier today. Apparently some people still believe "bleeding bad blood" away is the cure. Problem is bleeding someone that is already anaemic due to malaria or chronic disease is a very bad idea indeed. |
wills2437:This is where our system is a failure. Since this allegation involves sexual harassment, sex for gratification to commit an act capable of undermining the integrity, standards and quality of a public institution, the prosecution service and the police should already have taken up the case. They would grant the girl anonymity as victims of sexual harassment should be entitled to. Especially considering our culture of stigma. The idea of coming forward to face a hostile gathering of dons the age of her granddad, most of them on same boat of banging their students is total madness. How can she expect fairness there? You wonder where all the "e-feminists" are when they are needed to assist a sister. Or they just limit their duty to shouting all men are scum, when they should blame themselves for their poor choices in men. |
Good but you think govt & policy makers are not aware? No desire to succeed yet as a nation. Period. |
Kingsley10000:At least the prof who is not olodo should not be lured by an olodo girl, abi? There are ethical rules in any job. Inflating marks for reasons beyond correcting an error or yielding to fear or threat is wrong and rubbishes reputation of any school. Even if the girl was his niece or friend's daughter and the prof did or promised to do it for free and no sex it is still wrong and sack-able. He compromised the ethos of his job & abused his position of authority. No excuse whatsoever. We cannot be setting ourselves very low standards. If he does his job properly there are procedures in place to handle cases of students who under-perform. Except you want to tell us sex for grades is part of the procedure. ![]() In any civilised country what would matter is whether he was the one in the audio. Because no evidence he was threatened. In fact he was the one harassing the girl and even setting/dictating how many times he needed sex to upgrade her marks. Who is to say he didn't deliberately fail her to be able to have sex with a girl he always desired? |
RZArecta2:He always thinks he can outsmart the Northerners. But the Northerners have put him on a scale and weighed him. They managed to undermine his influence over young turks like Fashiola & Fayemi. They have recently decided to please him over Oyegun issue. Or at least appear to do so. To use him again for 2019 election. But still El-Rufai and other Aso Rock cabal are seriously on his case. |
ishowdotgmail:The guy has not made money yet o. He even complained about it a few months ago. True, he might just not be fashionista. |
The elite have already given up on this country. All they do is corner power to siphon our money. Imagine if war breaks out today. All our elite can fly all their family members out to any country in 24 hours. I mean those not already abroad o. Can 85% of the masses do such? No! The masses should be wise. They knock our heads together to distract us while they loot. |
Oreofepeters:My dear, people have the right to their opinion. There are billions of people who believe there is no God. And among them are many pastors in developed countries (who consider clergy as a career, with salary, retirement benefits, etc) and the atheists who largely make your car, hi-tech, developed computing/internet and changed the world to what it is now. Very sensible people. Faith has little to do with intelligence. Just like we have the right to believe in God, others have the right to question it. Denying them that right puts one in the same bracket with Boko Haram. Perhaps in questioning God's existence, they might go on the path to find the truth. If eventually they find God, they could become like Paul in the Bible. Doing God's work more than those they met in the ministry. |
transformed:This is not about political update. Actions like these strikes can have both intended and unforeseen consequences. Suppose these strikes escalate or even unwittingly kill Asad ( he can be hiding anywhere knowing many countries won't mind eliminating him) what effect will it have on terrorists currently retreating? They will most likely bounce back. Western track record of bringing stability after getting rid of leader whose face they despise is pretty abysmal. Iraq, Libya and others are testament to that. The reason Trump is doing it is irrelevant. Western leaders always have one reason or the other. The consequences for ordinary Syrians will be same. |
slimdamatrix1:Some things never change. We all had a similar argument 15 years ago. Before invasion of Iraq. Many said USA will crush Iraq in no time. My argument was crush Saddam and his army yes, but replace him with whom? Who will stabilize Iraq after the war? It sounded like a rhetorical question then. How will Muslims worldwide (aside US allies in the Gulf) react to invasion of Iraq? Only few took my question seriously. Well, we all now know better. Terrorism ballooned and still raging till now. Including ISIS, AQIM, Boko Haram, etc. Again after all these new strikes and possible quicker exit of Assad, what will happen to Syria that is already battered? 15 to 20 years of further civil war to rival Somalia? Libya is still there as a recent reminder. Only time will tell. |
Lighthouseman:This is the question nobody wants to ask. But funny nobody asks after the fake news from the West about Saddam's biological weapon just 15 years ago. Assad is by no means an innocent choir boy, but there are many countries and groups of terrorists capable of having and using those weapons to spite or implicate any country. |
Ok |
Great thread. |
Fraud everywhere. Genuinely ill people may end up suffering. |
Follygunners:Quite incredible. 9ja is not ready for progress o. |
shecko:Please educate people about the political situation in North Cyprus. |
They are afraid of the truth. |
MhizzAJ:Abeg help him found an NGO. At least he can later make a name as a philanthropist. All this unregistered NGO charity men have been doing for girls need to become mainstream economic sector. To add to our GDP. What pisses me off is the sense of entitlement many of them have to a man's money. After eating men's money up and down and get played by a gigolo they become "by-force feminists" shouting all men are scum. The same scum many of them rely on for survival. My respect to all the real queens out there fending legitimately for themselves, through honest hard or brain work. |
Pusyiter:Are you into publishing or songwriting? |
Pusyiter:Actually, this romance thing often obeys the law of magnetism. Some of the nicest babes I know dey follow efulefu guys. Warning them is just wasting your time. Better buy plenty tissue paper keep at home. For when they come crying. The moment you're itching to say "but I warned you". But you resist just to be a gentleman. ![]() |
NwanyiAwkaetiti:Ok dear. |

Shows how much we value human lives in this nation.
