kabrud:So you just concluded that I am from the East. Lol. I am beginning to understand the hate igbo talk about. These people marginalised and butchered by Herdsmen are minority and largely Christians. Yes I relate to Christians because even here on Nairaland with large SW Muslims, I am not even allowed to comment on Muslim topics without converting to Islam first. It does not strike me as people who want me to genuinely relate to them by airing my sincere opinions. So I have every right to feel closer to minority Northern Christians. Whoever anybody voted for is individual right. I do not come from a background where freedom of speech or thought or political persuasion is stifled on religious ground. |
buharitill2023:Misfortune bawo? I am currently enjoying a relaxing holiday thousands of miles away from Buhari land. Wetin konsain me? Though our people in Taraba, Adamawa, kaduna and Benue being turned into suya by Buhari's would certainly have something to say. Abeg let Buhari do third term sef and change constitution. He should please accelerate the inevitable. |
sinkhole:French franc was not at par with cefa before Euro came. It was pegged to francs and still pegged to Euro now. Britain seeking to undercut EU by again gaining more advantage using colonial ties. While it reduces forex pressure on the Naira/ FG on paper, it could increase demand for British goods thereby increasing import dependence. Since forex will not be a restricting factor as much. |
gaskiyamagana:Cha! Blaming Jonathan is incurable. I thought they voted in Buhari to be their Messiah. Why not leave Jonathan to continue if blaming gives so much orgasm? |
Good one. |
delugajackson:Op na only you waka come? If you leave this runs girl after you don join chop inside, who you wan abandon am for? ![]() Look, lots of them are like that or worse. Your babe is just not coded enough. Leave her and the next one you meet might have been jetting to PH, Abuja, Jos and elsewhere to service various men. Things are expensive in 9ja and many girls cannot easily get the money they need to maintain the lifestyle they want. Sex is their easiest way out. Not excusing them but just facing reality. Observe if she's living way above her means. And more importantly if she can change. If she can genuinely change and Ditch that runs girl friend she has, continue with her since you love her and has other attributes you deem good about her. |
Abogwara:I wonder o. This is a village. Everywhere does not have to be entirely modern. If there are clinics, schools and other stuff in another nearby bigger town, I see no biggie. |
Chai! Africa. We're not disappointing Trump at all. |
careytommy7:Have you established who owns the hotel in question? have you heard of Idi Amin expelling Asians from Uganda in August 1972 and why it mostly happened? I know everybody comments without doing much research Today foreigners are again investing throughout Africa. Recently a bar at the University of Cambridge UK ordered the second half of a show by black & minority ethnic people to be cancelled. Reason was that white students were leaving the bar which caused the bar to lose money. You might say well, that is UK and white can do as they please. But know that racism issue in such a top school/intellectual environment is a massive issue. Because such a place trains future leaders for all spheres of life in UK and beyond. It therefore should be a shining example of tolerance, integration and progressive thoughts. That Hotel recruitment in Uganda might just be responding to subtle murmurs in the industry as to what foreign tourists prefer. |
Picture please. Thanks. |
ladyF:If we allow killer herdsmen to continue unchecked and we become numb to violence, one day out of frustration, one president can order worse things here in 9ja. Things got so bad with gangs, drugs and violence in the Philippines that this man got a chance to get to power. |
apexJ:Already it is no news o. All this RIP, eyah, totally unacceptable and very mild comments show we have developed tolerance to the news already. That is what we have become. Soon, God forbid, they will progress to wiping out whole villages to elicit even any comment. |
Saint Valentine don suffer. ![]() 9ja sabi turn things upside down sha. |
ok |
EmekaBlue:Abi oh. The 5 years old girl in that crash nor deserve a future abi the little girl sin pass this slay queen. Something must kill person at some point. Nobody is leaving this world alive. So people just talk in a way that portrays God as unfair. God does not pick anybody to die. When certain circumstances coincide things simply happen. |
ojlifa:New generation like Dimeji Bankole, Salisu Buhari, Patricia Etteh or Ibori? We need to start afresh and work hard for good 50 years under the control of a country like Canada or Australia. Otherwise we go just dey perambulate and still dey same same place according to Fela. |
baum1:That is not entirely accurate. These are mainly just names from history. And specialization orientated. Ecoles have mostly been for business, administration, engineering and similar courses training for elite cadre of government/employees, politics and business. Some even offered only post graduate courses. The main thing is that Grandes Ecoles though prestigious and selective have university status too. Albeit outside the general university system. Even in the UK some higher institutions may be called college or school but are universities, prestigious one even: LSE, King's College, Imperial College, School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, etc. Even Oxbridge universities are made up of various colleges or halls: King's College, Wolfson College, Balliol College, Jesus College, Trinity, St John's, Gonville & Caius, Christ's, Churchill, Magdalen, Brasenose, Keble etc. But in 9ja we attach so much value to the name "university". |
And those who will break up before or during valentine. Any little fiam, they will just pick quarrel. All na tactics jor. ![]() |
The babe is not talking about romance here o. Abeg just open your wallet more often. She wants to flex the money biko. ![]() |
Alariiwo:Hahahaha! In fact such a girl will be smiling from ear to ear every morning. As night match game will always be on point. ![]() |
RuthDaniels:Gbam! Love is not always about having. It can also be about letting to. Being selfless. |
Alariiwo:You can make you own: mango bark/leaves, lime, lemon grass, dongoyaro, dry banana leaves and other common trees. You do not have to buy. The ones you buy can contain anything. |
raphealolami:Lol. Are they football coaches? That is the job of NFF and club academies. If people with the right talent did not come through at the right time, JJ or Yekini had nothing to do with it. Maradona did not bring up Messi nor did Romario bring up Neymar. Lothar Matthaeus did not bring up Phillip Lahm either. |
omodave:You know Nigeria has a mental health crisis. Far too few people get attention. Some already deranged people still smoke igbo and drink kaikai. The result is the trash some spew here. They disgrace their parents that actually did their best to train them but to no avail. |
Collins87:Lol, there was this pretty babe years back. She always wanted things on her own terms each time. When I realized her inflexibility I just began to pretend to play along. But just when she thinks she has got her way, I'd pull the plug. She'd go and be lamenting to a relative of hers. She did not know I was a bit close to that person. I got to know that her forming was just nyanga. ![]() Even that her relative wanted to take her place sef. That's when I knew jungle don mature. But I passed. ![]() We are all still friends but she's still out there on the market. She tries reviving things till now but too late. I just turn it into a joke each time, pretending that I believe she's not serious about it. |
rawpadgin:Well measure the number of boat journeys taken worldwide and number of passengers and compare to flights. Then compare the number of deaths. If some small fishing boats capsized in the rivers Nile, Niger, Congo, Limpopo, Zambezi, Amazon, Indus, Volga. Mekong, Yangtze, Yellow, Lena, and so on, it will not make front page. It might not even make local news sef. |
rawpadgin:Actually flight is safer that most other means of transport. Around 3,287 people die worldwide daily from car accidents. That is roughly 1.2 million yearly. Even 1996 that was the year with most plane crash fatalities since nearly 50 years recorded 1179 deaths. A lot but still less than day's worth of road accidents. RIP to them. |
baby124:They care not about constitution. Only to keep perpetual control of Nigeria in line with Ahmadu Bello's mandate. It is people in the South who are living in denial. But soon enough they will finally realise it. |
Well nothing wrong with it really. But it depends on several factors: How long have you dated? How traditional are you or rather how modern are you? Which environment are you in, 9ja or diaspora? Will you accept if God forbid, she cannot give you kids or manages just one? Are you sure she's genuine in her behaviour and unlikely to change after marriage? What do both your families say? The proof of the pudding , they say, is in the eating. If you have carefully considered all these things going forward and you are still positive, then fine. |
