Look, lots of them are like that or worse. Your babe is just not coded enough. Leave her and the next one you meet might have been jetting to PH, Abuja, Jos and elsewhere to service various men. It depends on the style adopted by the university. Yes, the UK or US style which we follow does not do this, but the German style is the same as this. Prof Dr Trockel, for example, is the name of a former professor in Germany..Some other schools adopt this style.

There are different ways of viewing things around the world. In France, a degree from Ecole Polytechnic is more prestigious than whatever any French university can offer. The best students in France go to Ecole. In Nigeria, it's the opposite. Same in the Uk, etc

That is not entirely accurate. These are mainly just names from history. And specialization orientated. Ecoles have mostly been for business, administration, engineering and similar courses training for elite cadre of government/employees, politics and business. Some even offered only post graduate courses. The main thing is that Grandes Ecoles though prestigious and selective have university status too. Albeit outside the general university system.

Even in the UK some higher institutions may be called college or school but are universities, prestigious one even: LSE, King's College, Imperial College, School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, etc. Even Oxbridge universities are made up of various colleges or halls: King's College, Wolfson College, Balliol College, Jesus College, Trinity, St John's, Gonville & Caius, Christ's, Churchill, Magdalen, Brasenose, Keble etc.

But in 9ja we attach so much value to the name "university".

Actually flight is safer that most other means of transport. Around 3,287 people die worldwide daily from car accidents. That is roughly 1.2 million yearly.

Even 1996 that was the year with most plane crash fatalities since nearly 50 years recorded 1179 deaths. A lot but still less than day's worth of road accidents.
