The fact is our food is too starchy. We still eat like farmers in the village that expend lots of energy daily. While sitting in AC offices, riding in cars and bikes. Little or no physical exertion. You hardly see people eating wholemeal bread, brown pasta or drink sugar free version of drinks.

Dharniel:
suspension before investigation, who does that?
What if he's innocent? things should be properly and lawfully.
When accusations are weighty, and authorities deem it to be in public interest to investigate, suspension with pay is the norm in any serious country. Unless the individual has immunity.

Even with immunity, impeachment can be carried out if the whole thing is bringing a certain institution or body into disrepute or distracting it from the vital job it as to carry out. Suspension is meant to create an ideal atmosphere for investigation.

For example the subject of investigation will have no more access to files and records. Or able to direct his underlings to temper with vital evidence or do it himself.

Only in Nigeria do you see senators and honorables appearing in court and still holding on to high offices.

Please do not be mistaken to believe that the foolish and corrupt way things are in done in Nigeria is the right way.

If true, the Emmy guy is a BIG fool.

A girl cannot inherit property, but you can request the hubby to pay dowry & produce many/expensive items that many people cannot easily afford. Some even kidnap & do gbana/powder to afford it.

You will be happy to task her hubby to train/educate your other younger brother or sister for your family. shocked shocked shocked shocked

DeRay98:
When people say such you can tell that they are ignorant and jealous. The population of Nigerians abroad in such jobs is minute compared to the population doing respectable and other professional jobs in great places.
There are hundreds of thousands if not millions of Nigerian, Engrs in diff engineering fields, nurses, doctors and other health care professionals, lecturers, researchers, IT experts, transportation, entrepreneurs etc.
These are highly paying jobs and lots of them see opportunity for investments in Nig and they regularly send money home for such and also supporting family and friends.
The some total of these moneys sent home is helping the economy.
Spot on. Some of them only went to school due to money remitted from overseas even. Without these regular remittances, there would be a lot more armed robbers, kidnappers, more prostitutes and more young people of both sexes out of school and wallowing in poverty and roaming the streets. Go to places like Enugu, Ibadan, Akure, Benin, Ado, Abeokuta, Warri, Lagos suburbs and other places, a large number of new buildings going up are done by diaspora people, creating many jobs in construction and building material business.

Never mind hotels, farms, and other small & medium scale businesses. Even though often, several diaspora hotel owners had to sell the business. Once they travel abroad, staff there connive to NOT record 30 to 50% of guests received. They share the money. When the owner is in 9ja, occupancy is good. Each time he leaves, it reduces drastically. It does not often matter if a relative is put in charge. Putting many people off investing in business in 9ja, except returning home for good.

Some of the finest medics I know in some the very top university hospitals here in UK are Nigerians. Especially in gynaecology. Not to mention the teeming nurses.

They should be happy to receive her, use the evidence against her and lock her up. Even if just to get back at Jonathan & Dame Pat.

But no. AGF doesn't want to see her. Very odd.

Go and read about Ahmadu Bello. He said and planned that "Southerners should not be allowed to control their own destiny. That Nigeria as a whole should be a conquered territory and the Estate of their great Grand father Usman dan Fodio. Until the Koran is dipped in the Atlantic Ocean."
We Southerners are rather foolish educated people who have refused to take history seriously. The military coups that kept North in power for so long, the propaganda against GEJ, Boko Haram, the cabal culture of Northerners in Aso Rock, stubborn refusal to embrace restructuring, Fulani herdsmen & Northern do-or-die quest for power, all fit one way or another into the plan.

Because Northerners have a grand plan dating from late 1700s.

Make no mistake the GMD is only playing to Buhari's zealotry and bigotry script , only a fool won't know Buhari initiated and endorsed all the actions of the GMD and that's why he hasn't given Kachikwu the courtesy of either audience or even a mere reply.
Tor!

Kachikwu is pretending to be a learner. He's way smarter than that. I guess the final aim was to leak these details. He may already have sensed that he might be moved or axed altogether in the next reshuffle. He needs to quickly absolve himself openly beforehand. Before they accuse him of things he didn't do once he's not there anymore.

That Baru of a guy can never show such impunity without Buhari's blessing. After all Kachikwu is just a minister of state. Baru sees himself as CEO of NNPC. Only ever to take orders from Buhari. That is the reason Kachikwu wasn't made a substantive minister. To have a big title but little say in reality.

A 9ja lady in my circle of friends that was seriously domestically abused is the one that married oyinbo guy. She refused to tell us for years until she could hide it no more. Her frequent use of sunglasses even in winter did not work anymore. She had to confirm our suspicion.

RomanceRe: Guys, Can You Take A Bullet For Your Girlfriend? See Funny Reaction by AreaFada2: 2:25pm On Oct 03, 2017
It is not that straightforward.

Nobody will tell you either you take it or you gf takes it. It is usually instinctive like in armed robbery. But most guys will take it if sudden before they know it.

The other matter is the reason why they want to smoke her out. If she duped one maga or seriously offended someone, then it's he lot to take.

If they want to smoke her because of what I did (God forbid), it's only natural that you protect her.

But otherwise I cannot go and die for a modern girl that probably has three or more other boyfriends or sugar-daddies. Because she obviously will never do it for me.grin cheesy grin
RomanceRe: This Beautiful Lady Faked Being Sick And Then She Made Money From It (pics) by AreaFada2: 9:16am On Oct 03, 2017
Not new at all. Very old scam.

I had this social media friend based in 9ja like 7 years ago. For some reason some girls perceive foreign based guys as plucking money from trees here.

Every chat always involved overt or coded "begging" for money.

One day she got her friend to use one of those voice call supporting sm to call me. Her friend told my sm friend was admitted to hospital and too weak to even speak. grin cheesy That she's not getting treatment because of no money. That I should help.

I asked which hospital, she told me the name. Quite curious that it was a specialist private paediatric hospital! I used to know several staff there and one still worked there. I planned to call the hospital staff & find out but I just waited.

I called back after 30 minutes and my sm friend now picked. Faking low voice & agony due to illness. She confirmed the name & location of hospital again. That she needed money fast now to commence treatment. Then I told her I know the place well. That my person works there. That I just need name of ward she's in and my person will come to her right away.

Her voice changed suddenly to her usual strong voice. cheesy grin grin grin grin grin grin

She said well, ehmmm......ehmmm...she was discharged earlier today to go buy medicine and be taking at home.

I just shook my head. I told her woman, if you are going to try hoodwink me, at least use a general hospital, not a paediatric hospital! grin grin cheesy cheesy

She said "are you saying I am lying?". I said if you are not lying tell me the ward you were admitted to so my person can verify that you were admitted but now discharged.

Next thing I heard was "hello, hello,......bad network. And she hung up.

Many ladies are terrible liars out there. Their pretty face will only deceive you. Not different from male yahoo yahoo all over the place.

Relatives in 9ja do same to diaspora people a lot.

Until BBM & WhatsApp became popular to snap & send pics, they can just call from 9ja and say the wind just blew off the roof of family house. Especially those whose dad & mum are late. And being July/August/raining season, the rain is much and the house could collapse in no time. Unless quickly roofed now. As they call they will curiously have the total cost calculated already. cheesy grin grin

It happened to several friends I know. But at least now you can ask to see pictures of the house from all angles. You will know your family house at least. So they cannot send fake pics.

Good afternoon everyone here. I have been an ardent of this forum so, I felt it wouldn't be bad to bare my heart here as I know I'd surely get an advice that will make me see clearer. Please bear with me as I am not very perfect when it comes to expressing my self in writing. Pls pardon my write-up should you see it as too long. I just want to bare it all so one can know what to tell me. Thanks.
My Name is Amanda. I lost my parents when I was sixteen . I am from a family of five. I was about to sit for WAEC before the sudden demise of my parents. I had to drop out of school cus I couldn't pay bills and my older siblings were still struggling, so I got a job. I worked as a cleaner say for 2 years and I was able to save up something and enrolled for WAEC AND GCE and I passed. I tried my first admission it didn't so the second year someone told me to try a Polytechnic and fortunately I got admitted. I joined school but I kept working and I saved up some bucks and at the end of my ND at federal poly Auchi my G. P was 3.40 yes! I cried for joy.
I. T (Industrial Training) started and I felt it would make more sense If I could start something little within my environment. Since I knew a lot about female bags and wears I held on to the idea and started. My customer base grew as I went from department to department showing and convincing the "big girls" in school about my goods. I approached just anybody so long you female. I kept moving at that pace until I was heavily sought after. My room became my boutique.
Why I am confused now
All glory to God I have been able to establish a good relationship with people who sale to me on credit which allows me own varieties and sell more.
1. Not to exaggerate, I make a minimum of 40 to 45k a month as my own.
2. I ain't rich but I think I am comfortable for a young lady of my age. I will be 24 3rd October.
I focused more on my business and I didn't join my mates for the HND session. My reason was; after school now, I go carry certificate they Waka up and down. Make I kuku use this small money wey I don save use am run my business first as I thought school can wait. could I be wrong?

# I have a course mate who traveled overseas after our ND and she has been encouraging me to come over since I could afford the travel expenses (not to lie, I was considering this also which made me forget going back for my HND.)
Now my question is if you were me would you go back to school? I am of the opinion that schooling in Nigeria without a good back up could leave me frustrated after graduation. No job.
# if you were me would you just continue with your business and open up a shop or would you travel out, get a job and go to school there?
Pls advice Me as I would be turning 24 in no time and I am JUST CONFUSED embarassed I have the feeling that any decision I make at this point would either make or destroy me permanently. Pls help a sister embarassed
Should I go back to school? cus my dad always wanted me to get an education but I feel I should be able to know what works as times have changed.
Pls I am open to any form of advice. God bless.

If you go to Dubai anyhow, chances are high that you will end up doing prostitution. Anyhow I mean. Jobs are becoming scarce in Dubai now according to sources there.

Saudi Arabia has just allowed women to start driving cars. It is expected that many current foreign drivers will have to leave Saudi. Expect many of those to head to Dubai to secure any jobs they can get in the near future. Saturating the job market further.

You can do your HND and Dubai will still be there. At least by then you would have prepared yourself for life there. Like doing further certifications, legalizing your documents properly and try securing employment or be in the process before going there.

Check your motivation too. Not wanting others to "look down on you" is funny. Life is about trying to make the best use of your abilities and succeed in life for yourself and your family. Do you already look down on others who are less well off than you now?? So you think others would too? shocked shocked

So u dunno Germany has less water supply Cus there sea was poisoned during world war
My dear not actually true. Germany shares the Baltic sea with Northern & Eastern Europeans and shares the North Sea with North Western Europeans. No way to pollute it and not affect others. Pollution due to sea warfare was normal but not enough. Atomic bomb was never used in or against Germany during the war.
Unlike what some NLers are saying here, Germany has a high rainfall similar to its neighbors. Despite regional variations.

German water has high nitrate levels though due to agriculture & industrial activities.

Germany is a water-rich country.

Rules governing water quality apply EU wide now and fairly strict. Germany has been pushing ahead with Green energy along with the Scandinavians for a long time. It has even committed to stopping Nuclear Reactor use in Energy production. Germany is one of the few countries in the world where the Green/Environmental Party has been in Federal Govt Coalition and even has a regional/state governor in power currently.

i have always have a very close relationship with my siblings while growing up, which i have tried much to see that everyone is comfortable. i don,t based in Nigeria, but my family has always been my first priority. but everything changed immediately i want to get married. that i have to settle everyone first before getting married. they automatically ganged against me, that if i don,t settle that no one will come for my marriage. this really pissed me off cos this is the same people i have been struggling for over 10 years now. am no longer a kid if i start to settle i will never get married. this is really disturbing me, they only call you on phone when they need something. it really hurt when people you love dearly treat you like this. how do i go about this cos i have decided what ever will happen let it happen, let me look for my own life. i owe no one a dime, every struggle is me and me alone,
My brother, the scenario is more common than you think.
They will never be satisfied no matter what.

But first of all are you marrying a lady you met in diaspora or coming to marry from 9ja?
If in diaspora and you are fairly sure of her good character sit down with her. Discuss a simple diaspora marriage and move on with your life. Let your In laws understand that at the right time you will come and pay dowry.

Most family in 9ja do not care about your progress in life. Only what they can siphon from you. They feel money is easy abroad. No matter how you much you explain to them.

If you are coming to marry from 9ja then you are in a difficult situation. Because you cannot marry in 9ja without your family coming. Even then, depending on your immigration status where you live, just let your woman in 9ja come over with a fiancee visa and marry her abroad.

If your fiancee and her family can co-operate with you, you will have it easier.
Be aware that if you marry without family consent, the battle could be tough. Both metaphysical and all. Trust in God and keep assisting them if you can. Before they know you are married, you will already have a kid or two. grin wink cheesy

Op some are accusing you of not teaching your folks how to fish. They forget that you can buy someone a net, but you cannot force him to fish. They have no idea.

If you listen to them and not marry now, in a few years they will be the ones to mock you that after 20 years abroad that you have no wife or kids to show for it. Diaspora people are often oblivious of the envy, greed and competition that exist in many family members since they left home.
Your situation is not unusual at all.
