Lawmaker N80000
Governor: N78000
LG Chairperson: N75000

Pension (when retired): N60000 per month.

Also....every political appointee gets the use of just one official car.President can use 5 cars.

No allowances,one official house....and an audit of personal finances every 3 months.

And all this political violence will just end like that.....

Even with these, they will still get bankers, businessmen and all manner of fronts to use to siphon and launder stolen money.
We need to strengthen institutions, make corruption difficult to engage in. If not, no measures in place will work. Imagine if auditors can take bribe to give any paying person all clear.

But I agree. We need to start somewhere. Rather than do nothing.

On a serious note, when we said before election that GMB is not cut out for a democratic govt, we were called Tanoids. A president already condemns future ministers as noisemakers before appointment, indicating low expectation, is that not a big disincentive and discouragement?

Only that our people have no pride or decency or principles when it comes to govt appointment. Otherwise decent people in other climes would reject appointment as "mere noisemaker ministers".

Exactly. Huge gains can be projected from business investment BUT there are many economic and human factors to be considered. I have done several businesses by proxy. Cars, exporting medical consumables to 9ja, running a farm, etc. All ended up same way. Once you're not there to manage it, 4get it. The promises made by employees or manager never materialise. The desire to make quick money has spoiled 9ja business. Everybody wants to fill own pockets quickly. Same with those in diaspora who started bakeries, hotels, schools, etc.

If you're going to manage it yourself, fine. At least if you don't succeed, it's not due to lack of commitment, someone siphoning your hard earned money or any form of dishonesty.

If you are busy, real estate with genuine land documents remains the best way to build solid and low risk assets for the future.
