HBB1:Who exactly are you to mention inferiority? Let's begin with the schools you attended and the exact place you work. Not just say Dr or dentist but which hospital do you work in and in which country? ![]() The fact is that you remain ignorant about history medicine. I hope for God's sake you are not part of the noble profession. If not the school that educated you without history of the profession failed woefully. |
HBB1:What do you know about history of medicine? Let us hear it. Pride is exactly the problem with 9ja. Do you know how Mr for surgeons came about? I guess you won't know without googling. The origin has nothing to do with pride. Don't try telling someone who knows. |
Openbusiness:Dude, the more you learn, the more you know how much you don't know and therefore remain humble. Also many top consultants have foreign degrees, have travelled widely doing research, as examiners, etc. They have seen the humility of the very best experts abroad. You see the people who develop therapies, pioneers in certain surgical procedures, win Nobel Prizes, and so on, they are so down to earth. In UK your top surgeon will be called Mr Jones, Mr Davies, not Dr Jones or Dr Davies unless he is also a professor. It is for historical reasons. But 9ja surgeons did not copy that "Mr" bit from the British despite being our colonial master. We too like title to copy that. ![]() |
bjtinz:What they spew on here is really disgusting my brother. Many people have no expertise or do what they do through connections and probably do a shoddy job. So they believe other people are like them. They do not know what expertise or empirical stuff is. |
maternal:She is not discouraging any one. You can tell somebody who does not live in a snowy country. You cannot say it's everyone who will wait for doorsteps to be cleared by others before going out. You mean it's every community you will see local guys ready to clear your snow? Whenever you tell people about own experience they call it discouragement. All they want to hear is that the president, monarch or prime minister is your neighbour and Na you dey run things. They want empty bragging. Then will be pestering "baba, assist me Na". Have a simple argument with them here and they tell you that you are second class citizen abroad and you wash dead bodies. Our people just have too much belle abeg. |
SweetJoystick:Canada is big enough, there is enough space for everyone duly qualified to go. No need for some to return to accommodate you. No need for bad belle for everything. Her information is useful to some people. You truly have to appreciate people sharing information. I would have appreciated such info before leaving to live in a temperate environment those many years ago. Even within a country, weather can affect where you choose to settle. Chicago or Miami, Paris or Nice, London or Edinburgh, etc. |
donb06:9ja where death is very cheap? Lots of people die at home and they just take them to mortuary from there. Go to towns across 9ja from Wednesday and see rate of funerals. How many deaths undergo autopsy for example? In the West Covid-19 can be picked up at autopsy, for example in sudden death and counted as covid death also. Many are people dying of any cause within 28s day of testing positive for Covid-19. The reason we see high figures in Europe and AMERICA is because the authorities actually care. 9ja where many died at Lekki Bridge and LASG said only one person died of blunt trauma. ![]() Until you go out and see serious countries at work, you won't realise that 9ja is a very silly joke of a country. Unless you are in related field, you will probably just be arguing based on imagination instead of facts or science. |
Sirmuel1:Really? I saw in the 1990s. Where have you been not to see it? You probably mean in 9ja. People used to kill twins in some places. Now many people swoon over twins. Culture evolves. She is not naked but dressed for exercise. Something African need more of for better health. Men of course too. Those at the frontline know what mean. |
Sirmuel1:What is disgusting about a pregnant belly? It's just part of nature. We all went through there to be born. Preggy is the most life-affirming and amazing thing to see. Especially if you have the privilege to look inside (scan) routinely through the months. Whether their teenage kids would be proud about them is another matter. I teenage daughters of Obama and his wife Michelle would have been embarrassed by their parents at times. As cool as their parents are. Kids get embarrassed by virtually everything their parents do in public. |
wwwkaycom:Chai! Dude, your niece probably sees you as Uncle Libral. ![]() Going to the room for a few minutes would be ok by me. But three house? Nah! She has turned your guest room into "short time" hotel room. If you condone this nonsense she will be coming more often and "hosting" her guy there. Next will be the guy sleeping over. This was just their dry run. ![]() |
Mexyz:Lies brought APC power and have sustained them there ever since. But truth eventually trumps lies. Lies upon lies, denials, u-turns, part-admissions, then bigger bare-faced lies again. Quite pathological and embarrassing. We are not saying PDP have better people since they all cross-carpet every minute, but PDP members tone down their lies a bit. |
suremossty:If you don't search, you don't find. The state is not doing tests freely so it is not diagnosing. Imagine Kogi people that travel to Abuja & Lagos a lot, they don't catch Covid-19? The guy will rather people die quietly, so far he can fantasize about the state having no Covid-19. If true by now WHO would be doing research in Kogi to find SARS-COV2 resistant gene or genes. |

Simple, basic nutritious food. Roast potato, roast carrots, roast parsnips and roast Brussels sprouts. Sausages wrapped in bacon, jollof rice and turkey.

donb06:How many tests are done in major cities daily in Nigeria? Way too little for a population of 200m. Remember Covid-19 is most silent or very mild like common flu in young people that make up over 70% of the people. Do you know how many hide their symptoms or die silently because of stigma? That we have fewer obvious cases says something negative too. Life expectancy in Nigeria is only about 52 years old. Most deaths in the West involved over 60s, with over 80s being the biggest group. Causing catastrophe in old people's care homes. Look at even most who died in 9ja: Abba Kyari, former Oyo state governor, etc. If you consider their football age possibly at play, most would in reality be over 65 to 75. |

CodeTemplar:The thing with Covid-19 is that whoever breaches prevention protocols should be called out. No matter their status or religion. While majority of infected people may not get seriously, we cannot tell for sure who will get ill. We only know from experience that elderly and those with underlying illnesses have disproportionately got ill and some died. That some people of one religion possibly did something inappropriate does not justify another group doing it. You cannot compare the South with a more liberal attitude and vibrant media to be criticised as much as the more conservative North. It's just reality. |
Seun:Seun you are not following the conspiracy theories flying around. They say Covid-19 is a hoax o. Because it didn't kill anyone around them. They say people like us who see the devastation of it daily are only making it up. My disappointment is that many even parade one or several degrees. Education is not wisdom at all. |
Rip to the dead. Quick recovery to the injured. |
EdricBond:Go think jor. Pikin wey nor dey think about hin life nor be pikin. ![]() |
Denique:All these presidency goons just cannot resist the urge to shalaye. ![]() |
Baba I agree with you. But your generation creamed off Nigeria and left every sector in shambles for the current generation. Only to share our commonwealth to build own private empires. Education can only be as good as those who manage it and the facilities, faculty and other resources available. Countries that produce top quality graduates don't do so using mediocre and dilapidated universities. |
samzyini:Did you read the fully story? We have some bunch of very ungrateful girls these days who see men as meal tickets. Actually men are to blame by even obliging them to begin with. Pray for one of the rare good ones. Our social fabric is in trouble really. |
binghammer:Don't just spoil the girl business oga. Women are not that generous towards men who are not their blood. It's we men they expect to be mumu always. Then they will call it love. ![]() That kind move Na flash pool. Pure gamble. If she go do nursing for USA, God help the guy. ![]() |
Sammy07:A place a member of Benin Royal family is the Enogie /Duke of? That Iyase of Warri Kingdom, Chief Johnson happens to live in Ologbo does not make it Itsekhiri land. I knew the late Duke well, a brilliant medical doctor, father of the current Duke. Ikaye has no history in Benin. Let alone helping Benin defeat and behead Deji Arakale of Akure in 1818 as a few Itsekhiri now claim. Land fight is very common in Delta. Urhobo v Ijaw, Itsekhiri v Urhobo, Ijaw v everyone whether Ogoni, Benin, Yoruba, etc. It was the Arinjale of Uhen who delivered the escaping Arakale to General Ezomo of Benin Empire in 1818. |
internationalman: ![]() The house boy part got me. She go japa without ever looking back. |
nelsdavid:My brother go back into history. The issue caused a problem in Warri province back then. It was Olu of itsekhiri. When Awo made it Olu of Warri, Urhobo and other tribes protested. Because what is now Delta was Warri Province of Western Region. Urhobo and others felt it implied that Olu was now ruler of all Warri province (virtually all of Delta today). The settlement was made thus : The name was changed to Delta Province instead. Benin province and Delta province became Midwest Region in 1963. Later became Bendel taking first three letters each from Benin and Delta. Please don't just attack people until you have the facts from history. Though the guy did not correctly explain his points but he was partly right. The Olu is generally monarch over Warri area. Increase of Urhobo population does not change that. In any case the Urhobos granted passage and even escorted Prince Ginuwa on his way from Benin to Ode itsekhiri, welcoming his coming from ancestral home of the Urhobo people in Benin back then. There was still close kinship then. |
Oracleforce:That was Ogiame Atuwatse Il. That Ogiame passed away soon after that saga in 2015. This is his junior brother who replaced him in 2015. Obafemi Awolowo died weeks after attending coronation of Atuwatse II in 1987. Not saying it had any thing to do with it. |
georgeakins:Iyatsere has its origin in Benin as Iyase. It means "with this I surpass you all". It was created by the Oba of Benin centuries ago to checkmate the senior elders or Uzama when they were exercising their clout a bit too much. It became the Prime minister and commander of Royal Army. Though chief Ezomo became the battlefield commander as Iyase did more administrative duties. Over hundred years before the first prime minister in Europe was created. Cardinal de Richelieu by the King of France. When in 1480 Prince Ginuwa left Benin to become Lord or Ruler of the Seas (Ogiame), junior sons of the chiefs of Benin went with him as part of his new royal court in Ode itsekhiri. |
valirex:The way these guys masturbate over Benin matter Na lie o. ![]() They say they are telling the truth. ![]() What incentive have they to say the truth? None because they want to create modern imperialism because they failed on the battlefields back then. What they forget is that Europeans witnessed Benin wars from about 1500 AD and documented them. ![]() The cross dresser so desperately wants my attention that he-she is madly provocative posting. I won't indulge any fool. |
Excuzeme:I have no connection with Osinbajo. Most of us saw him as a brilliant human rights advocate with Christian morale as a pastor to boot. We didn't expect him to become just an ordinary self-serving politician. Alas we were mistaken. So you mean if you cannot prevent evil you should associate with it? Osinbajo does not have to do anything after resigning. Because even now in "power" he is not doing anything. , No difference. It didn't see any point in answering what he will do out of office because of the above plus he wasn't born as VP. He had other jobs before. If they had lost 2019 election nko? Won't he find another job to do? |
waleademolaa:. Do you know that asthma patients are at increased risk they catch Covid-19 infection? Anyone who dies within 28 days of Covid-19 infection is deemed to have died of Covid-19. Post mortem should that he had Covid-19 infection. Of course medical Frontline staff are at risk of Covid-19 infection generally. Medical staff + asthma and or diabetes, heart disease, obesity immunosuppression, receiving chemotherapy treatment, are bad combos. |
