Iamgrey5:Read my posts from years ago. I cannot spoon feed you guys every time. In essence I have as much stake in Yorubaland as any other genuine Yoruba person. I am not even talking of immigrants from Middle belt. |
Iamgrey5:Unless you can also get people like Ooni of Ife to back out of Yoruba issue. If you cannot, you also have no chance of getting me out of Yoruba issues. By the way trying to impress with education is childish. People with earliest contact with Europeans and educated over 500 years ago. That Nigeria has the singular misfortune of producing the worst, most divisive and corrupt politicians since 1914 till date means one cannot use political positions to impress me. I do not even tell people of my relatives currently in political positions. Nothing to be proud of. They have all failed Nigeria woefully. |
Iamgrey5:They all say they are from Yorubaland. All those immigrants from middle belt. I know them. |
Iamgrey5:Actually Awolowo's intolerance and effect on my relatives. We do not lick balls or worship godfathers in my part of Yorubaland. They are all our subjects no matter their political position. |
Iamgrey5:Lol. A commoner (possibly from Middle Belt originally) quoting a man obsessed with Benin. ![]() |
Iamgrey5:Go through my old thread. Including history with SLK and Awolowo political crisis and the mess resulting from it. I have written all here b4. I am not going to do roforofo with a person of your low status. |
Iamgrey5:So you are a mere commoner and from a family of chief of a minor monarch in Yorubaland. ![]() No wonder. I am not even your mate in Yorubaland. If you are a baby on Nairaland, go through my posts over the years on NL. I have fully narrated my pedigree in Yorubaland. Otherwise you would think I am just making it up now. |
Iamgrey5:What is your pedigree in Yorubaland? Who are you in Yorubaland? I challenge you. I should be telling you to shoosh over Yoruba matter. |
Their madness don start again. Who let these people out of Aro? I rank highly only the following Obas after Oba of Benin: Oba of Lagos, Olowo of Owo, Olu of Warri, Obi of Agbor and Obi of Onitsha, I respect Alaafin for representing a former Empire just like Benin and the Awujale for respecting himself and not talking anyhow. Then the Olugbo for exposing liars on Oduduwa. |
oz4real83:Bruv these places are not nearly as beautiful when you visit as in pictures. You have to visit at the right time. Some are extremely cold over 6 months of the year and others extremely hot. Travelling is also very expensive. You need more than just a passport. Transportation and hotel accommodation within countries cost a lot. Of course you get to see many places over the course of many years. |
oluwatosink:This is no excuse. Barca and Real Madrid were always richer than Enugu Rangers, Bendel Insurance, Shooting Stars, Pillars and others. But we passionately supported our local clubs. Fact is choice. Given a choice, the average Nigerian will choose something imported. It has led to local production falling. It reduces strength of local currency too as we need more dollars to pay for import. So football is just part of general trend. If we had easy access to foreign league matches 40 or 30 years ago, same would have happened. |
With this mindset, these old men have no intention of listening to the youth or give youth a chance. Tinubu will be almost 70 in 2023. Yet Merkel of sane age bracket is getting set for retirement. Nigeria will just walk gradually into apocalypse and these thieves forming leaders will become super villains of history like Mobutu Seseseko. |
Bkayyy:Ok, tell about your own pre-Osadebey history of Obaseki family. Because his ancestor's name is known, how they acquired the name Obaseki is known. So tell us "your authentic" version sir. And let the world hear it. |
MelesZenawi:Lol. When did Easn people leave Benin area? ![]() Which date was the grand Royal conference in BENIN when Esan dukes were crowned in Benin? These dates are crucial in knowing how much of Benin culture Esan people left with. Now, Esan people left largely during the reign of Oba Ewuare I who reigned from 1440 to 1473 while prince Ginuwa left Benin to Ode itsekhiri in 1480. This is about 300 years after omonoyan, son of Izoduwa returned from Ife. The Urhobos left a bit earlier around the reign of Oba Egbeka, four obas before Ewuare 1. Benin was never under Yoruba control. Omonoyan despite his privileges as prince turned Oba, the elaborate, complex and strict structure of the monarchy, the overbearing aristocracy and Evian opposition frustrated Omonoyan and soon left to form Oyo monarchy. What you see as Yoruba culture in Benin is a result of the empire. Influx of various people. Let me remind people that Gov. Obaseki's great great great grand father came from Anioma. In my part of Edo state, the Yoruboid culture there would be very strange and alien to an average Benin person till today. And it has been around for over 200 years. It was brought in from Eastern Yorubaland. If I didn't know I would say it's due to Yorubaland colonisers. But I know how we came to be how and where we are. It makes Omonoyan/oranmiyan story from Benin view very plausible. Because our story shows some similarities. Luckily ours is recent enough to have been kept alive. |
loopman:True. But both Yar'Adua and GEJ have their kids complete. Maybe El Rufai should think of how he would feel if Yar'Adua family or GEJ remind him of that. Unless of course that was his sacrifice for power. Arrogant and uncouth people need to be fought in the mud at times. Gentleness is stupidity in their warped mind |
theoneJabulani:Please display the ones you have here. With prices. |
amazingamaka:Sadly too many are like that. Whether they openly admit it or not. If you are a woman with more self esteem that have more than just your body to offer, kudos to you. You are in an exclusive class nowadays. |
Na wa o. |
Madibah:A reptile may be lurking around inside. Lalasticlala's friends are everywhere these days. ![]() My only question how long will it last around so much flushing and splashing water. I guess the makers thought of that already. |
Awol1:So in Nigeria an ex convict like Kalu can even be touted as presidential candidate and we all take it as totally normal. Wow! Fayemi is the only fresh candidate I see there. Very funny that Ribadu and Fashola are not even mentioned. It shows that corruption and impunity is what Nigerians now accept. |
Sadly, this train took him to a destination he didn't wish to go yet. RIP to him, quick recovery to his wife. |
CuteVally:Ask yourself this: if you were living on your own for the past 3 years could you have saved 1.2m? Could you save even more by staying longer? Is moving out to be able you flex more girls and spend recklessly? What's your plan for the future? Do you have a table girlfriend and when do you plan to marry? Will responsibilities towards family members sooner or later fall on you? Are you a business minded person? Is the land/eventual house in your hometown just for prestige or it will give a good ROI? How stable and secure is/are even your current income stream (s)? When you have answered all these, you can then begin to see the way forward more clearly. Nobody can just tell you yes or no. Only you know the circumstances. Your parents thus advised you because land is a "secure" investment. Treasury bills are also secure and more liquid in case you do need the money. Explore your options. |
cooljude:Even the whites say humans came out of Africa. But dudu liking to be inferior must import himself from the Middle East. Let a Chinese religion like Buddhism become popular in Africa one day, black man will find away to in his fantasy snuggle his ancestors from Wuhan Province. Just to feel among black man will even accept that Covid-19 first originated in his Wuhan ancestors. But became dormant when or blacks left or were wiped out by ancient Covid-19. With many blacks coming back to China in last 30 years, the virus again found the the original host causing resurgence. Before mutating and spreading to Chinese and other races. ![]() It may sound farfetched, but with a little money dangled, dudu will accept any rubbish. |
maduxs:You are welcome. Then put your scientific knowledge to good use sir. |
@ Maduxs I didn't see the pic before you took it down. But if it's the regular albinism, then it probably oculo-cutaneous albinism (OCA) affecting skin, hair and eyes. As against Ocular albinism (OA) normally affecting eyes. OA is typically X-linked. Meaning it's passed from the mother BUT affects sons only. Daughters will only be carriers but can pass it on to their kids. Boys only suffer it. Important to get the genetics and phenotype aspects out of the way first. That way you can enlighten some people in your family and get a few of them on your side if possible. OCA has an autosomal recessive pattern. That is both couple have to have the faulty gene. Even at that their kid has a 25% chance of being an albino. 50% chance of being a carrier of the faulty gene (without being an albino physically) and 25% chance of nothing at all concerning albinism. Unless several people in the family, down the line, decide to marry albinos, the worry of you introducing albinism into the family is exaggerated. Or your children who may be carriers also go on to marry carriers or albinos. There are many things people carry in them quietly that are far worse. We don't see Parkinson's disease trait in people, most infectious diseases, etc. If you are happy with her, do not let her skin or hair colour deter you. HML in advance. |
MelesZenawi:So your problem is that I mentioned an Igbo person. That the story is true as told by Ikemba himself and relevant in this context doesn't enter your coconut head. ![]() Na wa for you o. You that carry matter of other tribes on your head like gala and lacasera don't want anybody to mention Igbo. You must be Nairaland resident comedian. Mr Ibu of Nairaland. ![]() |
Openbusiness: ![]() See upper cut. |
oglalasioux:English is in fact a Germanic Language. Just like Frisian, Dutch, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, etc. Movement of people create new dialects that over time can evolve into different but related languages in some cases. |
It was very bad. It scared Africa till today. |
BpyDox:Nice. |
ayinde2020:..... Ewa lo busi. |
