zudozz:It is not the job of a defender to score goals. 5 goals and 4 assists in 28 appearance is not bad for a defender. |
Felabrity:Osimhen did not even qualify for the world cup. Morocco didn't win the trophy, but they got to the semi-finals. Hakimi also won Ligue 1 with PSG, scoring 5 times with 4 assists. That is not bad for a defender. |
Fira09:South Africa have only been to 2 world cups. 2023 happens to be their second world cup, and they did well, almost holding Sweden to a 1-1 draw. And knocking out Italy. |
Felabrity:And how about the Women's Africa Cup of Nations? South Africa won all their matches from the first game to last. Not even a single draw. They won every match, including the one against Nigeria. |
Felabrity:I don't think it is about hate. But you can't say Osimhen CLEARLY deserves to win. The three shortlisted footballers are all deserving of the award. I think Salah is the least deserving. The world cup miss for Nigeria might hurt Osimhen's chances, especially considering that Hakimi had a wonderful world cup with Morocco. |
Fira09:They did well. Lost narrowly to Sweden. Held Argentina to a 2-2 draw, beat Italy 3-2 and lost 2-0 to the Netherlands. |
Novarisammy2:South Africa did well in the world cup too. |
emmyluizzz:You are the one that is cursed. You don't want anything good, but we have the best female goalkeeper in Africa. |
Tonytonex:He won Ligue 1 with PSG in the year under review. |
PrinceJoeWan:I doubt if that would count. If it would, Onana should be on the shortlist and not Hakimi. Onana was 23rd on the FIFA Balon D'or ranking, ahead of every other African aside Osimhen and Salah. But the CAF ranking puts him behind Hakimi. |
Fira09:They have used this to compensate Nigeria. We all know Bayana Bayana of South Africa should have easily won this. |
VEHINTOLAR:Exactly. Hakimi also won Ligue 1 with PSG and for a defender, he scored 5 goals and had 4 assists in 28 appearances. The award might just go to him. |
This top award is between Hakimi and Osimhen. Salah is the least deserving of the three. Between Hakimi and Osimhen, I can't say. They have both been very helpful in their individual leagues. I don't know why I feel like the award might elude Nigeria again like it happened in 1998 when Hadji beat Okocha with just 2 points to win the award. |
SweetBuns:The law does not work like that. The law is not barbaric. |
He watched too many Indian movies. |
Some comments here show that some of our teachers are not fit to teach girls. Yes, teachers are human beings too. There is the weakness and any female (who knows her game) can bed a man. But still, there is no excuse. Better still, don't look for excuses to sleep with a spoilt child placed under your care. No one is going to blame the parents or the girl. You are the one that would have your name soiled and your freedom taken from you. I have taught for close to 20 years. Close to a quarter of those teaching years happened when I was a bachelor. I have taught in a public school where the children were obviously not in school to learn anything. The girls would wear tight and short skirts and even the junior ones would wear fitting pinafores. There was no denying that I was tempted on many occasions. But I drew up a set of rules to help me survive and I even communicated these rules to my students. Girls were not allowed to visit me at my house or in the staff room when I was alone. I kept a physical boundary which they must not breach. And so many other rules. Needless to say, but some of them did try to ignore the rules and I made an example of one such girls. In fact, one of the reasons why I was fired by the school board was because I had a physical fight in the school. One girl had the audacity to put her hand around my neck while I was going into the staff room. I gave her a deafening slap. Her boyfriend (a student in the school) now came into one of my classes later in the day and squared up to me. And we went at each other. It was disgraceful. But a teacher is a human being too. But I have grown up now and I would never ever be caught squaring up to a student. I have drawn a set of rules to avoid that as well. |
Procashtips:The OP didn't know any better obviously. You keep repeating that comprehension is a big part of education. This, yet again, is another of your many fallacies. You have a lot to learn. |
Procashtips:Literacy is not a basic feature of education. It is a basic feature of formal education. But education is more than just formal education. |
Procashtips:You wrote that they are BASIC features... They are basic features of formal education. An illiterate can be regarded as educated. An illiterate farmer can tend his farm better than a formally educated person who has never been on a farm. My great grandfather was a surgeon before colonialism. He was illiterate (could not read and write), but educated in medicine. He knew herbs like the back of his hands. When the colonialists came, the ones in my village relied on my great grand father's knowledge of herbal medicine. |
Procashtips:Ability to read and write is literacy. It may be a part of some forms of education, but not all forms of education. If we considered that certain civilizations did not have written languages and yet created/invented things, it meant that we have had illiterate inventors or even scientists. Formal education has caused us to narrow down on the definition of education. |
ncoolsome:If a statement or an online activity is stupid, you don't need to know the person to realize the stupidity. I know you are too stupid to understand that. |
SAMBARRY:There may be more to this story than you know. Don't judge. We have had cases of men getting married and changing and their mothers would put all the blames on the wife even if it was the husband's personal decision to become inaccessible to his own family members. |
The fact is that there is no proof that they killed Mohbad. Many people here don't appreciate evidence or proof until they find themselves in wahala and there is no evidence to prove their innocence. Evidence is very important. Without evidence, many innocent people would be in prison. It is possible that Naira Marley killed Mohbad, but it is also possible that Naira Marley did not kill Mohbad. |
ncoolsome:Must you replace Christy with someone? Can't you just remove her from the list and call out the OP for being stupid? |
ncoolsome:If you must make a replacement, why use Fela? Is Fela your daddy's mate? Show some respect. |
ncoolsome:You are very confused. I corrected the OP. The OP ignorantly listed Christy as one of those who became popular after their death. That is wrong information. Christy has always enjoyed popularity before her death. But you had to mention Fela. |
Vinnie2000:This is laughable. Even in developed countries, only a privileged few or the lucky ones in the middle can foot all their bills without complaints. If we went by your logic, many people would not be married today. Getting wedded is not so much about the current financial status as planning. When my wife and I wedded, our total income was not even up to 100k. But we had made plans. I am a heavy saver. Fortunately for me, my wife is too. We planned our finances. Of course, we did get help here and there, but we both knew that it was temporary as we planned. In the earliest months of our marriage, my father still sent stipends to me. Now, I send triple of that stipends to my dad and still send to my wife's mom. Not that I make a million naira per month, but I know how to use money, and I have a great financial partner in my wife. Now, there are men who go into marriage fulfilling all the requirements you listed above. They were able to foot their basic bills and all that. And then, after wedding, they start struggling financially? Or you think that it is not possible? I will tell you why some men go into marriage financially OK and then start struggling a few months or years in marriage. Lack of planning. The fact that you could feed yourself or pay your bills before marriage does not mean you would be able to when you get married. Situations change, especially if your partner is financially wasteful. I know of a neighbor who threw lavish birthday parties for his children every year. He has four children, so four lavish birthdays every year. He is doing well currently, but around this time last year, he almost committed suicide when he suffered financial setback. I did not even know until one day when I visited my children's school to pay off their school fees balances. It was test time, and his children were all in the waiting room. I questioned them, and they said they didn't know why they were not allowed to take the tests. It was the school administrator that now told me only one of the children had some of her school fees paid for. The three others were owing full school fees. Marriage is not so much about your current financial status. It is more about the two people going into it. Do they both have something doing that gives them income. If the man is the only one that has an income, what are the plans for growing that income? It takes two to tango. So, consider your partner's financial behaviour too. Things would not always be rosy financially. How would they make the most of small incomes? Would they stay when things are booming and start parking as soon as things start going downhill? |
Jewessgratitud3:If we all wait to have SUSTAINABLE income, none of us would be married right now. Or perhaps, you can define sustainable income for us? What is a sustainable income? |
ncoolsome:I don't need to know your tribe. The stupidity of a tribalist exposes them easily. Which Fela's song became popular after his death? Just say you were never his fan. His songs caused him problems with the military back then, especially his Zombie song. |
ncoolsome:Tribalism has eaten up your brain. Many comments here agree that Christy Essien-Igbokwe was already famous before her death. So, stick that nonsense up your ass before people are forced to derail this thread with a tribal war. |
The man whose wife was taken by the fake, randy pastor deserves it. My wife cannot even face me to tell me that one stupid pastor wants her to leave home and stay with him for a month. Dem never born that pastor well wey go tell me that kind nonsense. You want my wife to leave home and stay with your for a month? You dey craze. |
They must have been busy hating on one another. |
