epainos:So, he should walk out of the class because of one student? He should sacrifice the time of other learners because of one rude, mannerless learner? The only thing I agree with you is that he shouldn't have gone physical. If I were the lecturer, I will not even ask her to switch off her phone. I won't let one student waste my time and the time of many others. But there is no way she would go scot-free. |
The lecturer should have just asked for her matric number. No need to get worked up over a disrespectful child who is obviously tired of being an OAU student. |
Igbos and violence. Men beating wives to death. Wives beating maids to death or coma. |
Fugazy2023:You are saying something entirely different. Even some rich men can lack clear-cut vision to preserve their wealth. For Christ's sake, it takes two to tango in a marriage. Character depth is necessary for both man and wife for a marriage to be successful. Money is good, but money can vanish. Take for example, a rich man marries a woman. He meets all her needs without complaining. One day, he loses his wealth. The woman becomes breadwinner for only two days, and the man is already seeing hell at her hands. Money is good. It helps us lead a comfortable life. But when you advise women to marry only comfortable men, what happens if the comfortable men suddenly lose their comfortability? For me, a woman should be willing to look beyond money. She should look for character depth. If the man has a clear-cut vision, does he seem motivated enough to bring these visions to reality, or is he just a hopeless dreamer. And even if he has money, does he stop being motivated to expand or to multiply, or is he one of those rich, happy fools, who believe they are made for life even if their accounts aren't that confident. |
A harmless kiss on the cheeks which I am sure many of us grew up seeing these white people perform freely has now become an issue. Anyway, na person wey don chop belleful dey argue over this kind matter. |
Chijeep:You messed up by allowing yourself to even get involved in this entanglement. You still have enough time to save yourself. |
This is a big disgrace to the whole nation. You heard that Oduduwa Estate is suspect for fraudulent activities, but didn't even bother to do a thorough investigation before swooping in to start arresting every student that lives there. |
sarkinbauchi:Bro, simple question. Can he do his clearance after convocation. There is no way he would get any certificates if his balance is negative. So, that is not my point. The point is that he can't do clearance now because he is in Canada. |
A cousin of mine has made the convocation list of the University of Ibadan. The convocation for the sciences is to hold 14 November, 2023. He has japa out of the country since October, last year, and I asked him to return to do clearance, but he says he would do clearance any time he returned from Canada. This has been bothering me. I know that it is not compulsory for a student to attend his convocation, but the clearance is what I am not sure about. I thought that one must be cleared before convocation. At least, that was what it felt like during my time. In fact, as soon as my department pasted names and I saw my name, I began clearance. So, my people, what are your opinions and the fact? Thank you. |
It is a shame that no Nigerian male player has won African Best Player since 1999. |
MadeINchenzen2:50k per week in Nigeria? Better thank your head if you get one who earns 50k per month. |
I still insist that there is nothing like the best player. Usually, what we have are the best strikers. This is one reason why great players such as Jay Jay Okocha, Finidi George, and so many others missed out on many such individual awards. Football is a team sport, not an individual sport, so how can we have best player come from a single department when we have other departments such as the central midfield, the defensive midfield, the defense, the goalkeeping department... |
Teeklef:Right channel like? Like the court? In Nigeria, the court of social media is the hope of a typical Nigerian against a big man. |
planetx:Maybe you don't live in Nigeria. Costs of everything has gone up. People are beginning to remember those owing them. |
babamadiba:You are calling Dammy an idiot simply because he asked for his own money? If you look at Davido's response, you will see that he truly owes Dammy Krane and is refusing to repay. I don't know why celebrities do this. That was how Mercy Aigbe too was called out by a fashion designer some years back. I think even Psquare have had their own share too when they were called out for owing rent. If Davido lives his life well, I don't think he should have a problem fulfilling his own part of the contract he had with Dammy Krane. That you let me sleep in your house (out of your own free will) does not mean that I have to offer my services to you free of charge, especially when we have had a contract about it. |
He stayed in your house when he was homeless. Did you ask him to pay rent? So, because he stayed in your house when he was homeless or because of the free verses you gave him out of your own free will, he should not ask for your end of a contract? This Davido is so childish and classless. This is what you would expect of a gutter person. Anyway, it is the way of the rich. They hate paying debts. They would rather declare themselves bankrupt than pay even a kobo of debt. |
ONNYX:Truthfully, "Things Fall Apart" is overrated. In fact, Achebe himself never shied away from saying he loved "Arrow of God" better. For me as well, Arrow of God is Achebe's best novel. Many students who are forced to read Things Fall Apart abroad complain about the book, that it sends them to sleep because it is boring. However, it is regarded as Achebe's finest novel even though it is not even one of his best. His best works came later. 1. Arrow of God 2. A Man of the People 3. No Longer at Ease 4. Anthills of the Savannah 5. Things Fall Apart (his worst novel, in my opinion, yet his most praised work). I have a lot of respect for Achebe, but for me, he is not even top 5 in Africa. That man was not even top 7 sef. The man was a storyteller, not a writer. His books sold well, but were not evidence of deep, powerful writing. In my opinion, the best writers in Africa by depth in work and their proclivity to take risk with styles and subject matters. 1. Wole Soyinka. 2. Naguib Mahfouz 3. Nadine Gordimer 4. J.M Coatzee 5. Ayi Kwei Armah 6. Christopher Okigbo (Didn't live long) 7. Niyi Osundare |
Okolo3662:No links? These are all novels. Literature is not all about novels. Some of the finest writers in the history of literature wrote plays and poems. For example, William Shakespeare, Rabindranath Tagore, Bernard Shaw, T.S. Elliot, W.B. Yeats, Pablo Neruda, Wole Soyinka and many others. |
I am not into Rema. I barely know Oma Lay or whatever they call him. I like Asake. But my favourite musician is Johnny Drille. Very talented but underappreciated. |
poshestmina:Easier said than done. Just pray never to be in such a situation, especially if the nudes would cost you a lot. |
Georgejeez:Your stupidity is one of a kind. She should enlarge her ex's pictures. I take it that you mean her ex boyfriend. So, an ex boyfriend is the same as a late wife? Una no always need to comment na. If you don't have anything to say, why not just pass? |
Communication is very important in marriage. The man should ask his new wife why she doesn't want the late wife's pictures on the wall. If they scare her, he can remove them. These would be tricky if there are children between the man and his late wife. If the children want their mother's pictures on the wall, he can keep them on wall in their bedrooms. But if the new wife does not have a reasonable excuse, the man can keep one picture of his wife on a side or back wall, and put his new wife's pictures on the front wall. If there are children between them, I don't think the children would mind that, especially if they are still little. As for those jabbering that the man should have removed the pictures, you have a lot of growing up to do. Marriage is not a child's play. You need wisdom to survive. Keeping a picture on the wall does not mean the man has not healed or is not ready to move on. You might as well ask the man to forget he ever had a first marriage. In fact, you might as well ask him to go and burn up all those pictures. |
Uchek:Secession is unlawful anywhere in the world. 2) Who determines the illegality and on what authority? The federal government determined the illegality of Biafra. 3) What is ur ethnic nationality? |
One thing that made me not to jump onto the Obidient movement is Obi's dishonesty. The man reminds me of Stalin of Russia and the propaganda minister of Adolf Hitler. They would say one thing, deny it, and let their followers take over defending them like zombies. Obi clearly stated that he would remove subsidy immediately he was sworn in as president. In fact, he emphasized that subsidy would not STAY A DAY LONGER. Yet, his followers keep foolishly claiming that Obi would have handled the matter better than Tinubu. I am a Tinubu supporter, but yet I have made my grievances known about his poor handling of the economy, especially with the ill conceived subsidy removal declaration without plans. There is hardly one Nigerian politician that I trust. But Obi is the one we need to be the most careful about. In June, he granted an interview saying he would have put some things in place before removing subsidy. But in January, he had said he would remove subsidy immediately. Tinubu may be doing badly right now. But Obi would have done worse. |
optimusprime2:Claim I: Peter Obi promised to remove fuel subsidy on his first day in office as Nigeria’s president Verification The CDD War Room reviewed Peter Obi’s campaign statements for the 2023 presidential election and found that he made repeated declarations regarding his plan to remove the fuel subsidy. In July 2022, Obi said in an interview with Arise News that he would remove fuel subsidy and look for something to replace it as it was not beneficial to Nigeria’s economy. Also, during a presidential town hall organized by Channels Television on January 8, Obi promised to remove fuel subsidy immediately, if elected president. Describing subsidy as an organized crime, Obi said he would not allow it to stay a day longer when he gets elected into office. This was reported by Premium Times and Channels TV as can be seen here and here. Obi posted about the event on his verified Twitter handle where he reiterated that he would immediately remove the fuel subsidy when elected. Verdict: True https://cddfactcheck.org/?p=21732&=1 |
mrvitalis:Obi said he would remove subsidy immediately. I have receipt. In fact, Obi said subsidy would not stay a day longer if he became president. |
Some people are actually very selfish and hilarious at it. You praise your Ojukwu while cursing Gowon. What should Gowon have done when Ojukwu illegally declared a republic within a state? You expect Gowon to have simply folded his hands and looked away? So, Ojukwu is a saint and Gowon an evil one? The same Ojukwu who led millions of souls to grave only to escape with his own more precious life to Abidjan? He could not die for Biafra but sent millions of people, especially women and children to their doom. It was said that at a point Ojukwu had run out of resources but he stubbornly continued to send his fellow men to their graves instead of surrendering. At the end, he cowardly escaped to Abidjan dressed like a woman, and no, it is Gowon you all blame year in year out. May God heal una because it is obvious many of you will go into your graves holding grudges against a man who has lived a fulfilled life, reaching the pinnacle of his military career, and even seeing old age. |
flyinnizam:This is a crocodile. There are no alligators in Africa. You only find them in China and the United States. |
2aces:Bro, the word "gay" can also mean "cheerful". Moreover, it is there to rhyme with hay and other words with /ei/ ending sounds. You and the owner of your daughter's school are unbelievably ignorant. |
Very prayerful, yet nothing works. The economy is in a shambles, and there is no fear of God in anyone. |
Pusyiter:Maybe he wants to make himself available for political appointments and doesn't want unnecessary scandals. |
Nigerians should ignore these NLC pricks until they are ready to fight for every worker. Just because they promised them a meagre 20k for 6 months, they called off the strike, forgetting that labour consists of public and private workers. We are all suffering from the high cost of living. |

The portion they know in the Bible is honor your parents so your days may be long..if you quote parents, respect and love your children...they go go wild ni. Very selfish generation. They destroyed Nigeria. I pray the parents of the girl are well doing so they can treat the mess up of that useless ma d man. Just imagine...becos he thinks he is the alpha and omega in the class...he does not recognise the girl as an adult. Simple...use your authority and send her out of the class. Period. I know many lecturers who stepped aside until the kids walked out. Na the kids begged later because they kept sending the kids out of the class. Simple as ABC. That is the authority this man has. And it ends there. If the kid is useless and does not want to learn, it is automatic F. Period. But laying hands on the girl (an adult), this man needs to go to jail. But it is Naija na where abnormal people like those who have made comments above live.

... like say na election primaries.
