OhBritannia:Mercy's own is disgusting. And yet, she would want to flaunt it at every opportunity. |
Johncarlo07:It is your Obi that disputed the election. The onus was on him to prove that LP won. But evidently, he couldn't prove anything. His witnesses were the worst in the history of election tribunal seatings. |
Acidosis:Show us proof of Soyinka calling Patience a shippopotamus? You will never find proof because the professor never said any such thing. The press created that narrative for people like you who are easy to fool. |
Johncarlo07:You must be delusional into believing that LP won the election. Obi himself knew LP lost. He said he was not challenging the result, but the process. Wole Soyinka came out and stated the obvious that LP lost the election, and you all started dragging your fathers, thinking that you are dragging a revered literary giant. |
She went and fooled herself. They were discussing African literature, she went and started discussing politics. I can't imagine the way the audience would be looking at her that day, wondering the correlation between her nonsense and the discussion. As for politics, Soyinka has been very much invested in it. He used almost all his Nobel Prize cash money to fight Abacha. In 1977 under Obasanjo, when it seemed like we would not have any carvings to display for FESTAC 77, Soyinka was willing to sacrifice himself to invade a museum in Europe to recover the Ori Olokun which had been taken from Nigeria and used without compensation. What Soyinka has endured for Nigeria, the likes of DJ Switch and even her messiah Obi cannot do quarter of. Soyinka has friends all over the world. He could just travel out and never return. Yet, he kept coming around, jeopardizing his life for the sake of the common man. There was no single military regime from 1966 that did not consider Soyinka a menace for his activism. Gowon locked him up for almost 2 years in solitary confinement. Abacha sentenced him to death in absentia for fighting for Ogoni people. IBB detested him for his role in drumming up support for Mamman Vatsa. But suddenly, in 2023, simply because he did not support one Aba messiah, they are abusing him. Even people whose fathers would shiver at the name of Abacha join some other efulefu to talk nonsense about the fearless professor. The idiots came into our political space, and suddenly, no one could say his truth again without being abused, threatened or emotionally blackmailed. Their national icon, Chinua Achebe, did not even contribute one bit to the political history of this country. He was never at the forefront of any mass movement for change. Soyinka was one of those who walked the walk against the Cabal when they were preventing GEJ from acting as president while Yar'Adua was bedridden. You will never find Achebe in any such movements. The only time he found his voice was when he had to criticize or reject national awards simply because he was still smarting from the defeat of Biafra and the Nobel Prize which eluded him. |
TVTM2023:It is a multipurpose stadium. |
Rossikk:Nigeria has three nationals stadiums. Lagos, Abuja, Uyo. |
Naira Marley might be innocent. I wrote a reply here once when I said there were no evidence that Naira Marley killed Mohbad. I mean, what would his motive for killing him be? He would know that by killing Mohbad, he would be the first suspect. If Mohbad was truly killed, I am sure he was killed by someone who used Mohbad's misunderstanding with Naira Marley as a cover to perpetrate the dastardly act. However, the social media court in Nigeria is an overly emotional one which is hardly ever given to reason or logic. The physical element of this court are the mobs which burn people to death at the sound of "thief, thief" without bothering to ask what the person stole. Our prayer should always be never to find our matter in the social media court of Nigeria. |
The second picture is not recent fashion. Women have worn such rings on their noses since time immemorial. In fact, Indian women wear even more conspicuous nose rings than that. However, that first picture is an act of pure madness. Nothing aesthetic about that. |
I don't attend burials if I can help it. But I was in a mortuary once to see one of my students who died suddenly. The boy came to school that morning and seemed healthy until during break time when he slumped while watching his mates playing football. They rushed him to hospital and before closing time, we heard that he had died. Some teachers began to make plans to visit his parents. When we got to their house, we heard they were still in the hospital. I felt and still feel uneasy about being in or around hospitals, but the other teachers wanted us to visit the hospital and stay to see what we can help with. So, we went. At the hospital, we were referred to the mortuary. At this point, I wanted to say I had had enough and would come to give my own condolences later. But yet again, I just went along with the others without a word. The front desk personnel quizzed us and would not have let us in, but unfortunately, one of the relatives who knew us, came and identified us as family, and we were allowed in. To cut the long story short, I saw the corpse. There was absolutely nothing familiar about it. The skin (which was fair when he was alive) had turned very black. I could not recognize him. And the way he lay on the mat on the floor of the mortuary, he looked larger than I had known him. And there seemed to be a frown on his face. I had sleepless nights and nightmares for weeks. When I eventually got over my fears, it was like I had been freed from bondage. |
OBAMAKILLOSAMA:A real man would sit there and do what? A woman should earn respect, not get it because she is a woman. She was always fond of talking down on Adekunle. She deserved every bit of whatever embarrassment he gave her. In fact, she deserved a lot more embarrassment than she got. |
Estellie:Cee-C is not even trying to play a game. She is just cruising along. For her mind, she get organic fans. She will be disappointed on Sunday. |
Bliss24:I don't expect a graduate to still believe that students with carryovers end up with a Bsc (without honours). |
YelloweWest:Are you saying every woman who has cheated was taught to do so by her husband? I don't know why you must rope a man into a woman's every mess. |
ColdHunter:That it didn't break Doyin does not mean it won't break Venita. Doyin is a harder nut to crack than Venita. |
Jeshurun90:You don't have to be rude to pass your point across. I did my research before including them in my accumulator. All the reputable prediction sites that I use predicted Chelsea to beat Aston Villa. |
Stupid Chelsea made me lose 11k just now. Money that I thought would go a long way before salary comes in. |
DOptical:Even so, we have people pulling out rosaries and kissing them for good luck. Muslims say the dua. Footballers like Sadio Mane say the dua before every football match. Usyk has a teddy bear which he carries about. It belongs to his daughter, but he regards it as his good luck charm. Ilebaye owes no one any explanations. Whether she claims it as her own or not should not be anybody's problems. We don't go about prying into why a Muslim footballer does a dua before a match or why a Christian does the sign of the cross. |
Amya:The hypocrisy of you people stinks. Every major religion or sect of ours has a prayer item made of beads. The Catholics have rosary. The Muslims have tasbir. But once an Ifa person brings out his own Ifa beads, you all start shouting diabolism. You don't have a problem when Catholics chant Hail Mary or Muslims pray with their tasbir, but you have a problem when a traditionalist prays with his/her beads. |
DOptical:And yet, you have no problems with someone saying prayers (incantation) while praying the rosary. Africans are lost. |
PrinceOfLagos:So, it was Mohbad's pictures that were exhumed? |
Dessdess:Don't waste food. |
JUDGEJUDITH:Your name ought to be JudgeJudo. You fight too much. |
safarigirl:Which terms and conditions? Show me the terms where it said Biggy could decide who crowns the winner? Moreover, this is not a matter of having balls. No one would decide a winner using one or a few individuals for a heavily vote-based show like Big Brother Naija. The issue it would generate would kill the show. It would be like deciding who becomes Nigerian president between two candidates using an individual or a few Individuals. |
safarigirl:That would be the end of Big Brother Naija. To cheat fans that way might not end well for the organizers. Trust is an important thing, and we saw how the jury experiment almost ruined the credibility of the show when Seyi was saved two consecutive times despite having the lowest votes each time. Instead of creating more distrust, I would expect BBN to work towards more transparency with eviction. For example, tell us before time how many housemates are going this week or that week. Last two weeks, if they had told us before time that two housemates would be evicted, White Money would have left earlier than he did. But because of a lack of transparency, they were able to save White Money and buy him one more week. |
Avedonn:How did you know her ex husband did not attempt to break her intelligently? What is the assurance that Adekunle or any man for that matter would succeed with such an obviously toxic woman? |
Godoverevery:Stop, please! You have never been in a relationship with a toxic woman, that is why you are defending nonsense. Have you ever been in a relationship where you are constantly scolded that you begin to fear to even make your own decisions for fear of being scolded? Have you ever been in a relationship where you constantly have to walk on egg shells for fear of annoying your madam and setting up more rounds of abusive scolding? I have said it many weeks ago that this relationship was a nightmare for Adekunle. Look how lifeless he always looked. I pray that people like you who defend rubbish blindly end up in a toxic relationship even for a week so you can learn to appreciate what some men go through in the name of relationship. And that is not to say toxicity only comes from a woman in a relationship. There are many toxic men out there too who abuse their women and belittle her at every opportunity. My advice is always to watch out for the signs and to run away as soon as you spot them. A major sign is incessant scolding. This is usually a sign that you are dating a narcissist. They scold every move you make because they want to feel in charge. Feeling in charge is the narcissist's fort because it helps them feel superior as a defense mechanism against their inferiority complex. When you tolerate their incessant scolding for too long, you become so used to it that you start enduring it. And that would be the beginning of the end of your self concept. |
His biggest mistake was trying that nonsense in an academic setting. His colleagues tried theirs on the streets, parks, etc, not in a citadel of learning. You can fool many market women or thugs, but you can't fool academics that easily, especially when they are in their environment. |
hardon1:That was the Old Testament. The Old Covenant between Yahweh and the children of Israel. Check the New Testament, which of the Church leaders put his son down to succeed him? In fact, there was not one single church leader. There were many of them (named and unnamed). There was no worry about succession because the Early Church was a true church, and not a family business that many of today's churches are. |
Even though I don't listen to his music, I think banning his songs is a hasty decision. What really did Naira Marley do? Are there proofs that he killed Mohbad? What if someone else did? I don't trust any of Mohbad's family members. This case calls for thorough investigation. As far as I am concerned, Naira Marley is being punished based on hearsays. There are no concrete evidence linking him to the death of Mohbad. As for record label executives, this should be a lesson. If it is not exploitation, it would be some other forms of slavery. Tuface Idibia went through exploitation at Kennys Music. Now, even Olamide is being accused by a former act of abuse. This idea of employing someone and then letting your wife or associates use them like errand boys or girls should stop. Nigeria needs a sound labour law to protect employers and employees alike. |
VIKTO83:His followers are a cult. The Marlian nonsense thing is a cult movement. I am not sure he even sends them on this mission. Once someone mentions him in a bad light, his foot soldiers run to the rescue even when they are not sent. It is a cult problem. Look at Islam. People killing for Mohammed even though in the Quran, Mohammed never asked anyone to kill for him. Same with the Obidients. Dragging people up and down. I am sure Obi did not send any of them on such embarrassing and shameful missions. The cult tend to become bigger than its leader. And might even consume its leader one day. |
The biggest loser of this season is White Money. Why come back only to be booted out like a nonentity? He said he came to have fun, but even so, it is disgraceful for a former winner to be booted out in that manner, on an eviction Sunday. He was booted out without any ceremony. |

Adekunle is really messing with Venita's head.
