@Reinzy,thats good to know. . We're all proudly Bini. . So do you have any Bini insults for us? |
Binin? aint that the place in Nigeria where they have witches flyin up & down with brooom stick?
Oh you did not just go there. . |
@Phate. . To protect him-like if someone had a knife to his throat i could shoot the person. And then you didn't specify the kind of love-it could be maternal love. A mother can kill for her child;either to protect him/her or to deal with someone who hurt him/her. |
I am proudly Bini(Not Esan or Etsako but Edo main). Now i'm a very good child(i really am),but for some reason everybody's(which means my mom) always insulting me(hehe. . ). I think Bini insults are colorful and very funny,so this thread is for all Bini people to tell us the funniest Bini insults they've heard/been called. I know a LOT of Bini insults and i'll go first. . I'm not very good at writing Bini but i'm sure you'll figure it out. My personal favorite is: 'Ewe no l'ovban re'. Others are;'Ewobi','Emila','Ozuo'(such a classic!),'Erere we ma gba','Ozuo nu ma ko','Emamuonowayekowa'(i'm sure that's not the correct spelling but the insult means something like this-someone who is selling in a market, and when every other normal person is facing the direction where customers are passing by,the person is backing the customers,or something like that). Any more Bini insults? |
@Topic,Yes. But there'd have to be extenuating circumstances. |
@OP,you said you started dating her Dec 22. Do you mean Dec 22 2009 or 2010? I hope its 2009 sha cos i dont get how she could start sleeping with you and spouting tales of love after barely 2 weeks. |
Guys with big bums are scary. Why would i date someone who's dragging ikebe with me? |
OK lemme reply. They lie about their r/ship status because they do not want to date/be toasted by you. |
I could thank God that his true nature has been revealed before i have any encumberances like children, pack my load and go. I could forgive him if he was truly repentant. I could blow his brains out with my trusty Smith & Wesson's,or i could open my heart and give him another try. Talk is cheap;i can say a lotta things now and then act completely differently when the time comes. I guess i won't know for sure until i find myself in that situation(I reject it,i reject it,i reject it!!! Amin,l'oruko Jesu!!!). |
@harakiri,i don't date. Even if i was dating someone,i'd never go to his house alone, not to talk of drinking something that wasn't opened in my presence-at least until we get to a certain level of mutual trust. How would i give info to armed robbers/kidnappers? So someone would ask me 'oh by the way, where does your daddy keep all his money?' or 'what kinda locks do you have in your house?' and i would open my mouth and talk? What am i,brainless? Or would someone tell me,'put on your webcam and take off your top for me my love' and then i would actually go and do it? Again, what am i? Brainless? The points you raised are valid ones, but the kinda child you have should also be taken into consideration. If you have a kid who blows with the wind and is susceptible to peer pressure, then fine,go through her phone. But when you know the kind of child you have, that will determine whether going through her phone is actually the best option, and whether the same result(re-assuring yourself of her safety) could be achieved by simply having an open, honest conversation with her. Oh and by the way,my parents are not the permissive type-they are authoritative. And since i can be verra stubborn,i've have more than enough discipline in my life. There have always been strict rules and restrictions on what i do,where i do it and who i do it with,so it's not like they let me run wild/free or anything. |
billtommy:'you gals are dunce','prentendas' et al. 8 lines and only one fullstop,20 commas and no spacing. Oh well,English is not our first language. |
chiteny:You'd be surprised. |
@Topic,God has more important things to do than interfere in the love lives of puny humans. Don't believe in all that pastor/prophet nonsense. |
@MzDarkSkin,*rushes to re-read original post and then coughs twice*. . Koyo, omo no mose. . Lemme rephrase oh,that post was meant for those who were beefing Bini girls. . Thought OP was one of them, but as it turns out, you're not. Koyo, ehn? Laho,e gui. . |
OMG!!! I'm on my knees, laho have mercy on ma ribs. ![]() Ewobi - I haven't heard that in ages. Who are those calling Bini girls up and down? I have only one thing to say-Ogun a gbue!!! Avbe ewe no l'ovban re . Is it our fault that you associate with money-grubbing,materialistic,hungry Bini girls? OP sounds like the man who calls his wife a mad woman-out of all the women in the world,he marries a mad woman. Who's the foolish one? If out of all the independent,hard-working and focused Bini girls you choose to associate with those hungry,man-wrecking,money-loving ones, who's the foolish one? |
@OP,especially on a girl child? Meaning what? @Topic,Depends on the child and whether they'll be able to maintain it. It also depends on whether they go to school far away from home or something. |
Dis Guy:Oh okay. Y'know,i'm all for feminism and whatnot, but i'm also a realist, and the facts are there are certain things that are a 'wife's' work. If,no scratch that, when i marry a good man,one who is a good husband to me and who loves and respects me the way he should, when im married to that man, then making sure his clothes are washed will be just another way i show my love for him. It won't be a big deal. It's something i would want to do. In any case what's so difficult in putting his clothes in the washing machine? Won't i do my own laundry too? |
Well,we're not exactly the most patient people in the world. I don't write in text-speak(except i'm actually texting),but my own case is special. But old people get really worked up about it. . Still remember the whole Reuben Abati brouhaha. |
Carlosein:Maybe he/she's using a phone. But how come old people are so touchy about text-speak? |
i always wipe my history naa. . Besides, house rule is that anyone using the pc/lappy to browse must do so in the parlor where everyone passing can see what you're doing. He doesn't really worry about internet. . (well okay,he worries, but on a normal level). |
they'll put the bride-price in Ghana must go bag. . Hehe. . Bullion van for the traditional, double decker luxury bus(ekene dili chukwu et al) for the white wedding. . |
Which kain sterling? 25,000 naira, last price. Maybe it was cedis sef. |
Carlosein:i know naa. . We have already given 't' that ends with 'a' away. . Bros G paid 25 grand ja-le(thas yoruba oh. . Dont know whether the spelling is right) |
Carlosein:Okay you mean the discussion,apologies and counter-apologies between X and y? Now i see. . ![]() |
sonia6968:bia sonia, where are you going, and where are you coming from? |
Erm,random here, but why does Carolece hate Nigerian men? |
@Dis guy,is 'would' not a form of a future tense anymore? I said my duty as a wife WOULD BE this and that. I didnt say it IS this and that. |
Carlosein:Ehn? Wedding? Where? How? When? Biko, tell me some more. . |
oyb:not only am i a Bene Gesserit,i am a Reverend Mother-all bow before my amazing courtesan-ness and untouchable virgin goddess-ness. I rock! They're wicked and selfish and loyal to themselves only, buh they're cool. Still on book 1 though. Heard it from a reliable source that the dune books Frank's son wrote aren't as good as the ones Frank did. |
