It's latin. . Btw-do you speak Latin? It means 'Those who are about to die salute you'. Its the short form of 'Ave Imperator,nos morituri te salutant',which is the same thing except it starts with Hail,Emperor. It was something ancient Roman gladiators said to the Caesar before going off to get butchered.

Whether i'll wash the clothes myself or not is not an issue. My responsibility as a wife would be to make sure his clothes are washed,whether i take them to a dry-cleaner,or use the washing machine,or wash it with my hands by the stream. The most important thing is that they are washed,dried and hung in his wardrobe. As long as i ensure that is done,then how i do it doesn't really matter.

Something like that happened to me. I was going to school and a guy offered to give me a lift. Now normally,i dont enter strangers' cars not to talk of male strangers but this man had a kid in the back-seat who was also wearing his school uni,like me,and there was no bus. So i tell myself okay this guy(not even guy sef,man cos he was mature) is taking his kid to school and my school is in the same area so i hop in. He starts asking me about the quality of my school and a niece he wants to send there and i think to myself,taking this ride was a good idea because obviously this man's just being a nice guy,only for me to get to my stop and to have him ask for my number. I was about to say i didnt have a phone when the stupid thing rang. At the end of the day i had no choice but to give him the number and listen to him talk about how i looked really smart and talked intelligently,how he's like to take me to a fast-food place so we could talk,all the while thinking does he expect me to jump up and down because he wants to take me somewhere to go and chop rice? Na so i hungry reach? Bloody pedophile. . My point is,some Nigerian guys just dont have that 'gentleman' spirit. Not all,buh some. They almost always have ulterior motives.

for someone your age, all your peers write is 'short hand'. keep it up.

if the way you write is the way you reason, then i really don't think there's anything to worry about.

aww. . Thanks. Also thank daddy for buying me my first Hadley Chase when i was in pry. 4-i absolutely love reading and so writing comes naturally to me. And also thank old people(mom,dad etc) for always complaining about text language. I only write in shorthand when im texting to conserve space and money-otherwise i believe in writing in clear,concise English. It prevents unnecessary confusion. And yeah,ill bear with him-its not like i have any other choice.

Some are good,some are bad. Okay,who are we kidding? MOST are bad-crappy storylines,terrible audio/soundtracks that tell you the story of the film,crappy costumes/make-up,hORRIBLe actors/actresses,no continuity,mediocre everything etc. . But every once in a while,you watch a movie that gives you hope-you jus have to know how to select them. For now,every movie Nse Ikpe-Etim acts in gets a pass mark in my book.

@Ugly betty,i loovE those authors you've mentioned. My fav Frederick Forsyth book would be The day of the Jackal. And of course,from Mario Puzo it's The Godfather. And Omerta's okay too. Who reads Robert Ludlum? Agatha Christie(the Poirot books-i dont really like the miss marple series)?

@jenny,wow. . That was a long read. I totally identify with the double promotion bit cos i had that when i was younger. When i was writin Waec in May id jus turned 16,when my classmates were a year older. Ive always been younger than everybody in my class and i know that has worried my dad-he worried about being bullied(i was really small-ish until i hit puberty and shot up a few inches-imagine the combination,small + efiko=being bullied). Thankfully ive always had a sharp mouth so i could defend myself,and long legs so when push came to shove i could run away but i do know he was worried about that. I know he was/is worried(but kinda happy) about how antisocial i am. He kinda had it rough growing up so he worries about everything. I guess what im trying to say is i do know he's a good man and an even better father,i know im incredibly lucky to have a father who goes above and beyond the expected responsibilities of a typical Nigerian father and i know that in time,ill see things more clearly. Even if i dont understand/agree with everything he does,i get the fact that we will not always agree on everything and at the end of the day it's his call. So while i still dont agree with what he did,i get that he's just looking out for me even if he's not doing it in the way i'd like,and i appreciate that.
