Considering the Covid-19 situation, are foreign students presently allowed into the country (upon vaccination and Covid-19 tests)? I ask because some countries (China, Japan, New Zealand, Australia etc) have their borders shut to foreign students. I no wan do online classes biko

From my search, I understand the block account fee is for the first year, so what about the second? Afterwards, what is required of the student? Also, what are the possible jobs (not necessarily available for beggars are not choosers) for students?

Some people have travelled and landed in Norway already though under strict measures. By this time next year, the COVID dust should have cleared even more and one may need to only be vaccinated.

It's "tuition" free, but there are some administrative fees, book fees, this usually leads up to very small amount which varies from school to school under a NOK 1000, so it's not hard to pay it.

The second year, it's rinse and repeat with the blocked amount. You have to renew your visa the next year, if memory serves me.
You can get jobs but of course they are usually jobs that don't require express experience, same as in most countries to be honest. This is where learning Norwegian will come in handy. It'll open more doors, especially to internships and the rest.

This is where your research skills will come in handy as different schools will have some departments stronger than the others. Look for your desired course, go to each school's website(or vice versa), and most importantly your intended research area.

As far as I know an HND cannot be used.
As for Pre- master's, you can check the private universities, though it must be stated that you'll have to pay tuition fees for that.

How do you think we can foster a strong sense of community in Nigeria/Africa? We seem to love out community but our actions don't quite reflect this sentiment. A basic example is almost everybody throwing trash by the roadside leaving the neighbourhood looking dirty, we know it's wrong but still do it anyway.

Hmm, honestly I don't know... Or I do know, but Nigeria's problem is multifaceted from the government ,down to the child that was born yesterday who will grow up to be influenced by those around, in the same way. It's a vicious cycle, to break am, e go hard die.

It's also worth it to say that those countries (Japan, Singapore, HK, S.Korea) managed to find a near-perfect blend of Confucian teachings with modern laws and rules. Now they aren't perfect, suicide rates for example is high in those places, but them try abeg... South Korea's history alone reach to make Nigeria's govt. never speak again.

Nigerians have values, we do. But value for mouth, lack of integrity for hand makes what....?

I don't know how the Japanese did it but their society operates on a very high spiritual frequency.

They may not be christian/muslim but they are one with nature and that is the peak of spirituality.

My hypothesis about the Japanese is that they are extremely disciplined and this has expressed itself in how they interact with humans and nature. The more disciplined you are, the more likely you are to be an exemplary individual.

In contrast, Nigerians are highly indulgent and lack self discipline, and if you cannot govern yourself you cannot govern others. We have a massive indiscipline problem in Nigeria, hence our many troubles.
Someone, comes into the bank and they want to be attended to immediately despite finding others on a queue waiting their turn; it is a fruit of indiscipline. Indiscipline breeds impatience, impatience breeds other vices like selfishness and greed amongst other ills.

Confucianism and Taoism bleeds into every fiber of their society. You don't have to be Christian or Muslim to live a good communal life. See we here that carry religion on top our brain, see our society.
It's nothing if you don't allow the good of your religion to influence you.

Sincerely getting a job from here will be très difficile. This will be because
1. The language issue I highlighted previously. They will also prefer their own graduates.
2. The costs involved in sponsoring someone from here. This means the company must prove that there is no one on ground in the country to do that job.
3. The coronavirus saw people all around the world lose their jobs. Hence it's still a limiting factor.

Honestly, I haven't and don't know anyone that has gotten a job from here. It's not a pathway I know about. Please do your research.

About the scholarship, they're already providing free tuition even though they don't have to. They're hard to come by.

I stand corrected. The new POF for intending students is NOK 126,357, so plan accordingly.

About getting a job, certain areas in Norway will yield better opportunities than others concerning different career paths. Par exemple, Stavanger is the oil capital of the country, so jobs in the oil industry will abound more than say in a place like Tromsø. Do your research on the city you intend to go to.

Also, the language. I read that Norway has a high English speaking population, but will still prefer someone who speaks their language. You might have to learn the language (it's even part of the process for gaining PR and Citizenship) for this.
I'll say check YouTube for foreign nationals that have been able to stay back in Norway after school for their experience.

You can apply for a job seekers visa before your studies end, it's for a year. You need to show POF for this(I think twice the POF for a yearly student's visa, do some research on this). If no job after that year, omo you bounce.

For POF, this year was 123,519 NOK, though it's been increased to 124,100 NOK(again please check on this, a trip to the official immigration site www.udi.no should do)

Bringing a family along will definitely increase things, you'll need to pay visa fees, show POF for them (again www.udi.no as they update these prices from time to time ) flight, accomodation, feeding, maybe fees for kids and other miscellaneous expenses. Norway is one of the most expensive countries in the world to live in, so do keep that in mind.

Ah no it's not, the minimum is a CLB 7 which equates to a 6 across for the bands.

People quote 8777 as a benchmark because a 6 would most likely give very minimal points, so try to aim for that.

I haven't gone through the nursing process so I can't talk about it specifically. I will suggest Google(input international student nursing in Norway, or something along those lines something will pop up). I will say that to study Medicine and medical aligned courses, one will need to have a good command of the language (Norwegian), but do your research still...

About your last paragraph, please make use of the search button, or if you have the time, read through the thread, a lot of good info doused with encouragement has been given.

My story is long o.... if I start, I won't finish. Before learning about the EE program, I already had basic French knowledge from a French school I attended due to a natural interest in the language. So I decided to write IELTS in 2019 and I've been in the pool for almost 2 years with 432 score. Since then, I've been learning French on my own by reading books, listening to podcasts and watching YouTube videos everyday. The pandemic was also a blessing in disguise because I spent all that time at home learning & improving. I think my biggest improvement happened between Feb 2021 & May 2021 when I began preparations for the TCF exam. My level really took a huge leap.
Seeing this 500 score seems like a dream but honestly, it required a lot of hard work, sacrifices & dedication.

Hardwork, sacrifice and dedication, and I'm so glad it did pay off for you. This is definite encouragement for us just beginning.

Hello everyone!!!! I am back with my TCF Canada results!!! This was my first attempt and I was so scared but God saw me through!
I was hoping to get even the bare minimum pass result but I'm so surprised by this! I made a lot of sacrifices with my time, finances and even relationships because I couldn't spend time with my loved ones but it was all worth it in the end! I just want everyone here that is hoping to write either TCF / TEF exams to remain dedicated and should not give up. To be honest, you will need to study and sacrifice a lot but if you remain diligent, you will reap the fruits.

Applications for admission for most universities open up in October, with admissions and visa applications the following year.

I mean when I saw the vacancy on gr8jobs, I was kind of skeptical about its authenticity because when I checked the company’s official website, I didn’t see it advertised there and that disclaimer scared me even more.

It was until I checked their official LinkedIn and (verified) Twitter page that I saw the vacancy so it became obvious to me they outsourced recruitment for whatever reason.

Furthermore, the latest mail I received asking for NYSC and WAEC info had some NBPlc employees (I’m guessing hr people) CCed on the mail. There’s no way recruitment would have go on for this long if it were actually fake and they’d have asked us for money by now lol

Thank you for confirming. My own mail did not have others CCed that's why I made my comment up there. We're all here to learn. It seems things have changed up a bit from when I did my internship there.

The second and third one for me was from an "Ayoade" person I think. It didn't seem professional. NB usually doesn't recruit using third party, and for them to send the same email thrice. Hmmmm.
