The pioneering computer scientist Lawrence 'Larry' Tesler whose accomplishments included inventing the cut, copy and paste commands for computers has died.

Bronx-born Mr Tesler died on Monday at the age of 74. A cause of death has not been released.

Xerox, the company where he spent part of his career, tweeted: 'The inventor of cut/copy & paste, find & replace, and more was former Xerox researcher Larry Tesler.

'Your workday is easier thanks to his revolutionary ideas. Larry passed away Monday, so please join us in celebrating him,' they added.

The Stanford University graduate specialized in human-computer interaction, utilizing his expertise at companies such as Amazon, Apple, Yahoo and the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center (PARC).

The idea for the cut and paste command reportedly came from old-style editing that literally entailed cutting portions of printed text and gluing it elsewhere.

In a tweet, the Computer History Museum in Silicon Valley, said: 'Tesler created the idea of cut, copy, & paste and combined computer science training with a counterculture vision that computers should be for everyone.'

The revolutionary command was first used by Apple in 1983 and on the original Macintosh, which was released in 1984.

On his website, Tesler wrote: ‘I have been mistakenly identified as the father of the graphical user interface for the Macintosh. I was not. However, a paternity test might expose me as one of its many grandparents.’

After leaving Stanford, Tesler began his career, making computers more accessible and user-friendly.

Tesler left Xerox to work for Apple in 1980 after he was recruited by its late co-founder Steve Jobs.

He spent 17 years at Apple, becoming chief scientist.

Tesler later went on to establish an education software startup, Stagecast, doing stints in user-experience technology at Amazon and Yahoo

Tesler was committed to spreading the knowledge he'd acquired through his long career, telling the BBC in 2012: 'There's almost a rite of passage - after you've made some money, you don't just retire, you spend your time funding other companies.

'There's a very strong element of excitement, of being able to share what you've learned with the next generation.'

I stopped replying his quote/mention when I noticed the same thing i.e he is just an emotional anti-US person.
It is not wrong to criticize or oppose something but when doing it do it properly and constructively. Everyone can't be on the same page.

Someone asked him a question about one country's failure in a war which he attributed to inner/inside strife but he failed to answer...
And other questions he failed to answer.
All his claims are baseless(not fact/true) but emotional, and when you counter it with facts he will shift post.

U dont know much about world geographies and how countries work, in Korea one of the reasons they built a wall between north and south Korea is that so north Koreans won't flee to the south, an average North Korean us frustrated, and to make matters worse they are trapped in the country, a north Korean going for any international sport's event like the Olympics must have a family, do u know y? So the people can't flee from the sports entourage and seek asylum.

That's how bad their country is, if there was to be a war between the 2 nations I bet u there would be a mutiny in north Korea, what's stopping it right now is that there's yet to be any major backer

North Korea scares d sh*t out of South Korea.. They almost destroyed South Korea during d Korean war b4 US rescued South Korea.. The DPRK/US relations signed in Singapore by Trump n Kim Jong Un prohibits N.Korea from attacking S.Korea.. Moon jae ran to Shinzo Abe of Japan abt 4 years ago when the whole saga started b4 going to Trump.. He described Kim as d Antichrist himself..
The truth is N.Korea can't attack S.Korea bcoz S.Korean forces are tied to US n Japan.. its like a network.. If N.Korea tries it they risk d wrath of US.. N the US can't touch N.Korea without the wrath of Russia n China (UN settled this after d Korean war, they ceded control of North to Russia n China.. Then South to US)..
The best N.Korea can do is issue threats or at worst a mild attack..
You need to broaden ur horizon.. seek knowledge b4 commenting on stuff like this...

Ask the Americans what happened during the Korean war of 1958, they were basically raping the North Koreans till the Chinese stepped in and drove them all the way back to the southernmost tip of South Korea [/b]before a truce was reached
