May be party affiliation or lack knowledge otherwise I see no reason EFCC shouldn't be after him.

What do you understand by misappropriation of Public Fund? Is it a offence in Nigerian Law? Even a secondary school level student would know that most state pensioners cannot afford a house of 17mil. If he wasn't dubious, he should have discussed with the pensioners and unanimous agreement reach, with legal backing, before redirecting their money into such Business. Now he is out as Governor, those pensioners are not paid, their children will drop out of school or they won't get school of their choice or not be able to pay for hospital bill, because some Dumb head decided to do business with their money.

With what I read on Nairaland as people's post, I just SMH, even the new generation are empty brains and lack morals. How can someone post 'at least he didn't steal the money' is that how bad our reasoning has gone?
When your employers pay money into your pension account, do you what the pension administrators do with the money?

Anti-corruption crusade indeed.. Believe Buhari and his cohort of change @ ur own peril
Why will EFCC be after him? From the report, he didn't steal the money. It just a case of poor planning and last I checked that's not a crime in Nigeria.

Back to topic, rather than slash the price of the houses, let them sell them and refund the money with interest back to the pensioners account.

It is a pity the yorubas and hausas will get the people with their mindset to scuttle the Biafran dream. I think we should start writing the Biafran constitution now with every tribe's contribution and input. With 100% resources control, provincial autonomy, exit clause and what have you to allay fears.

Let's write and publish it, so that we can compare it with what we have in nigeria. We must leave feudal nigeria by all means neccessary. #AnythingButnigeria.
This is the problem with you guys, always blaming others for your problem and never for once standing up to your responsibilities.

Yes, I did. That even indicts Buhari's regime the more. How can a company with an increased revenue (3%) still end up making a huge loss (76%). That shows you the increase in cost was exponential/astronomical when compared with the arithmetic increase in revenue. The naira-dollar variation is most likely the cause. I'll blame Buhari and his economic team for that.
Guinness didn't make a loss, they made a profit, just 76% less.

It helps discourage imports by making them more expensive. You say it makes us poorer. I say some of us, not all. Those who live by and depend on 'foreign goods and services' but some like us who offer foreigners goods and services just love the short to medium term benefits. So my advice to Nigerians is, this represents the best opportunity for us to restructure our economy rather than scaremongering to keep us addicted to oil, dependent on commodity trade and intellectually lazy. Suffering is indeed good for the soul.
There's already been an exclusion list to stop the import of some unnecessary things but people are still complaining.

God! There are too many dullards on this thread.

The funny thing is that they're the ones calling Buhari a dullard.
Now you can understand why they say the youths of Nigeria aren't ready for leadership. Guinness has been in trouble for a while now. Nigerian Breweries and Heineken are killing them. The introduction of Orijin actually saved Guinness and i can bet that is what lead to their revenue increase. If we ever get to see a break down of sales per brand, my money is on Orijin as the only profitable brand.

okay...so how is this move helping now? Is it growing the economy or moving it backward? Is it effective in a good way, so far?

BTW it's not text book economics that is Nigeria's problem! You and I know Nigerias real problems.

BTW doesnt Textbook economics helps the United States and European countries? After all they wrote the textbooks, didn't they?

Norway, the largest exporter of crude recently had to devalue their currency to cushion the effect of the crude price fall. Their economy is coping while ours has entered a recession.... In months to come, it will all unravel fully. This is only the beginning.
How does devaluing help the economy? We don't export anything so how is the Naira over priced?
Devaluing would just make the country poorer.

I think u should listen to radio Biafra
Don't be so ignorant. The broadcast is free. That way u'll understand what Biafra is about instead of this public display of ignorance

As it stands now, Biafra seems the best shot at resource control . If it comes, everyone will control their resources, and if the agitation forces Nigeria to renegotiate, resource control will be implemented.

But if u're waiting for Nigeria to wake u up one morning and dash u resource control, then 'sweet dreams' to u

That's my opinion anyway
1)Talk is cheap. When you want something badly you'll say anything to get it. Saying everyone is Biafra will control their resource is just talk.
2) Nothing good ever comes easy so I don't expect anybody to hand me resource control but I'm not stupid, so I realise that even the little 13% I got was not used judiciously so I'll rather clean my "house" first before fighting for more.

Pls no insults, tell me why we're all quiet about the so called 50% resource control unless Biafra is mentioned

What are you guys doing to achieve this desired resource control or a restructured Nigeria?
Because you guys are no different from the Fulanis.
You believe you have a right to self determination but the tribes that make up the south south don't.
You claim Nigeria is a forced contraception yet are quick to remind the people of the south south that there were part of the Eastern region of the same forced contraception.
We believe you guys have a right to self determination but YOU MUST respect our own right to self determination.

As for what we are doing about Resource control, don't worry about that we will deal with that in our own way.

You'll never know unless you try.

In anycase, even by Nigeria standard, you can't ship people from police station straight to prison without tagging or registering them. And how are you going to transport them? These stations that hardly have vehicles or fuel to run them when they have. Even if you ship them to prison, the prisons will be overwhelmed, and besides what about the publicity and bad media such will generate across the globe?

Surely, that won't even bode well for a new president who has several other items on his plate.
1)IPOB have no ideology, they just a bunch miscreants with lots of time on their hands so this your suggestion is dead on arrival.
2) Most Nigerians know that it is better to sleep under a bridge than a police cell/ prison so most IPOB members would stay far away.
3) Nigerian police and extra judicial killings are like 5 and 6. So processing 500 people is not a big deal when you have live specimen to do target practice.
4) I'd wager a bet that 50% of people in Nigerian prisons are there awaiting trial. IPOB members know that entering a Nigerian prison is easy, coming out is the problem especially when you don't "know" someone.

** I believe Nnamdi KANU must have told his followers that if they shout loud enough, the world would come to their aid, what he didn't tell them is almost all countries on this earth have at least one secessionist movement so no world leader would care about what would happen to IPOB members. The biggest mistake Biafrain supporters are making is thinking the international press carrying it makes their cause easier.
The international press will take about it for a month or two, then they move on the next issue.
Palestine has been fighting for statehood since forever, the UN has passed more resolutions against Israel than all other countries put together but nothing has been done.

Nnamdi KANU thinks world leaders would support his struggle once the press carries it but he forgets that all world leaders from China to Russia are also contending with secessionist struggles in there own domain. They wouldn't give a f**k about Nnamdi KANU till they deal with their own troubles.

You all should ask Palestine how the petitions they sent to the UN all these years has helped them.

Oh there, now I got ya point.
But now try to get mine...the 5 million jobs created by Google are not just it's present Full time workers, but the total jobs it created one way or the other since it's establishment.

Now, you consider this piece I just copied from the Website of http://www.businessinsider.com/google-has-57000-employees-2015-7

"Although Google just told Wall Street analysts that its been slowing its hiring in order to clamp down on expenses, Google has still been growing its employee headcount every quarter.

Google finished its second quarter with 57,100 full-time employees, up 18% versus the same quarter last year (in straight numbers, it had 52,000 full-time employees this time last year) and up 3% versus the first quarter this year (it ended the first quarter with 55,400 full-time employee, management said).

And it's hiring a lot right now as the company recruits new college grads, CFO Ruth Porat told Wall Street analysts during the quarterly conference call.

That said, one of Porat's missions is to reign in expenses while still investing in growth, she said.

Barclay's analyst Paul Vogel said in a research note that Google's rate of hiring has slowed over the past few years. An 18% year-over-year uptick in headcount last quarter is a bit less from 20% in Q1 2015, and 22% for FY 2014 — even though that still means Google added over 5,000 people last year alone, which means, on average 1,275 people every 90 days."

Can u imagine such fit by just a company ?

Don't you think that could have stop Musa from enlisting in to the boko haram ?
Or stopped Charles from busting our oil pipe ?
Or stop Kunle from joining the Armed rubber gang ?

Don't get me wrong bro..... I don't mean we should close eye on Agriculture. Of course we need it. But we need the Techs more, even for agriculture sake .
One thing you have to remember is that tech companies hire from around the world. Besides tech companies hire educated(1/3 of Google engineers have a Ph.D. , a whole lot dropped from there P.hD. programs to join ) people which is not something you can say about Nigeria for now.

Google has less than a 100,000 employees world wide. Even if you add contractors working for Google, there's no way you'd hit 5 million.

On the long run, tech reduces jobs because people are replaced by machines.

Politics › Re: Ministerial Screening: Fashola Indicts Himself Before The Senate by AZeD1(m): 9:36pm On Oct 14, 2015
I'm not sure the OP knows the meaning of indict.

1)According to Fashola, the said contract followed due process.
2) Nobody aside those in government know the stipulated terms of the contract so you can't say 78 million is over priced.
3) Application development like law and consultancy do not have stipulated fees. Charges are at the discretion of the service provider.

Morally the contract might be wrong, but legally I highly doubt so. Unfortunately the law doesn't deal with morals.
