I don't think you know the meaning of mediocrity and developmental economics. Ok, let me bring it home. We have two folk, both finished an MBA program in 2011. While Mr. A did his MBA in OAU, Mr. B did his at Standford. As at the time of doing the MBA, Mr. A has 5 years experience with Zenith Bank while Mr. B has 20 years experience with JP Morgan. 2 years after their MBA, Mr. A is a Regional Manager with GT Bank while Mr. B has achieved V.P position at Google. Do you think it is sensible to call Mr. A's position a mediocre position because of Mr.B's position? If your answer is YES, then i will need you to tell me your definition of mediocrity. This is exactly why GEJ asked you to develop a marking scheme first before marking!!! You get it now? While being a GT Bank regional manager is a very mediocre position compared to Mr. b's V.P position, it is an achievement based on his experience. And nothing really suggests that if that same guy attends Harvard or same stanford and have same privilege as a caucasian, he will not have a higher position than google VP. Tell me one aspect of the country's life that has declined since GEJ took over power and back it up with referenced data. If there is none, then he is not 'clueless' after all since it takes some clue to maintain status quo. But if your argument is that there are improvements in these areas but they not as big as you want, then we need to agree that GEJ is making PROGRESS and then look at the possibility of achieving such margin within 2 years in office. Shouting and chanting 'mediocrity' doesn't cut it. You can even show us the bridges Cameron has built since he came to power or the mass housing estates or power plants initiated and finished by Obama in his 5 years in office, or are these guys mediocre too?
Corruption: Alams pardon, Subsidy fraud Debt profile increasing Insecurity |
I don't really know how to address the concern of a folk who believes that a bullet train can be built in 2 years. Anyway, i will try. To appraise the performance of a leader, you measure particular indices in some sectors today compared to when he took oath of office. All know economic indices look better today than precisely 2 years ago, from inflation to foreign reserve to debt as a percentage of (even not yet rebaselined) GDP to economy outlook comming from key rating agencies who happen not to be either PDP or ACN members to balance of trade indices to ease of doing business indices etc. You can also look at maternal and infant mortality rate in 2011 compared to today, also fiscal stability to corruption perception index to non oil exports to human right to transparency to accountability. Also take a look at power supply in 2011 compared to today, then you look at electoral process and also equal representation of all sections of the country and also FDI. You can also look at aviation, rail and road networks. ALL are better today compared to 2011. I think the problem with you ACN people is that you took advantage of Lagos based media to make it look as if every thing is in reverse direction. Your party spokesman even made an embarrassing statement that Nigerian economy is in the verge of collapse. Unfortunately for you, facts are sacred. The people you have told how 'clueless' GEJ is are begining to notice the improvements and you are under pressure to make explanations. The tone has changes from 'he has not done anything' to 'he has not done it like the one in London or Manhattan. GEJ has done and is doing excellently well from ICT to financials to infrastructure to power to even entertainment. By 2015, we'll see who the clueless ones really are. Clinging to areas that may not be precisely measured like corruption will not help you. You people will soon discover how difficult it is to be corrupt. GEJ is a very smart and quiete man. By 2015, we will see clearer.
1) Where in my post did i say a bullet train can be built in 2 years? 2) You say we should compare GEJ government with his predecessors: Lets take the YarÁdua government as an example: Would you classify YarAdua as a good president? If your answer is yes, then feel free to compare but if your answer is no then saying GEJ government is better than YarÁdua's is not saying much.(E.g my sister scores 150 in Jamb and i score 180, obviously i did better than my sister but you can't say i passed jamb.) 3) I'd never judge the GEJ government on power because i know its not possible for GEJ to fix the power situation in 4 years(You can go through all my post and you'll i've stated GEJ can't fix power in 4 years) 4) Why can't GEJ and his supporters take criticism? You might be happy with mediocre things but please don't judge people based on your low standards. |
Sincere 9gerian: You can only make comparisons based on the KNOWN. The known here is the performance of GEJ predecessors.Would you classify GEJ's predecessors tenure as successful in terms of good governance? |
Sincere 9gerian: "Mr. Jonathan said his two years performance should be COMPARED with those of previous Nigerian leaders andother African leaders"- Premium TimesYou don't compare yourself with failures. |
Sincere 9gerian: "Mr. Jonathan said his two years performance should be COMPARED with those of previous Nigerian leaders andother African leaders"- Premium TimesThe bolded is mediocrity speaking. While 30% is greater than 20% both of them are still F9. The question is can bullet trains be built in 3 years? If yes, the fact that GEJ did not do it == failure. |
thelastpope10: Is Nigerian governors forum in the Nigerian constitution? What are their powers and function? You are too petty my friend. Grow up! Stop whining over nothing. Nigerians do not vote for governors forum leadership. It is a group that comprises of governors of the state and the party with the majority has said this is the person they want to lead. Deal with it.Some days back you were claiming Amaechi did not win, now you are saying a different thing. Can't you be truthful for once? |
visalo: The best answer for you is silent. apc noise makerBros this was what you wrote Bros you get time to talk. if Amaechi beleived he is the one elect. then let him try to parade himself. Jang has paraded himself and he was welcome by the vise president and pdp national chairman. Let wait and see who will support this traitor call amaechiWhat happened now? Or did Amaechi "doctor" the video? |
My own is where is that sycophant called losthope? Let him come and clear the air on this video |
Where is losthope and his crew of liars.... Anybody knows where that guy is ![]() |
Losthope How far na? Abeg who won the election? |
190: please im not trying to discourage you but you better wake up and smell the cookieI'm in a long distance relationship , i'm a guy and i have not had s3x with anybody. You might feel comfortable sticking you "thing" in any gutter but some men have pride and integrity. |
ave4: Intelligence,wit,fear of God,zeal for excellence,likeable personality and height.Have you met anyone who doesn't fear God? |
mekaboy: When your son challenges your authority in the family, you take measures to put him in check. Parents will say, " as long as you are under my roof, you do as I say ". Gej is telling Amechi, as long as you are under my roof, you do as I say.Bros please stop using analogies in your post... Do you guys vote for head of house in your family? |
Afam4eva: Omehia Contested under APGA.Omehia contested under PDP in 2007 and was declared Governor. Amechi went to court and won. |
thelastpope10: I dont know oh! Please inform me more...The same party that put Omenia as candidate in the 2007 elections? |
Mad Cow: so who won the NGF elections na?That is the 10 million Naira question on the who wants to be a millionaire show. |
maxell: Please can you provide your proof? I find it difficult to believe that MMA2 has not generated aWhat kind of proof do you want? I obviously can't show you their bank statement. |
OP According to your research, a woman or man who has never ever been faithful to one partner would just wake one day and change while someone who has exhibited self control all her life (As regard sex) would just wake up and change abi? I'd like to see your B.sc project. One question OP Do you think virgins do not face temptations in their everyday life? Oh one more thing as regards the phone comparison, that has to be one of dumbest things ever said by anyone on earth and beyond. I have met people who stick to brands and will never try any other.. e.g Apple fan boys. |
CFCfan: Wow, if these figures are realized, then, FAAN may not even have to get a dime from the FG! Kudos to Uriesi, Stella Oduah and GEJ for their vision concerning Naija's aviation sector. This figures cannot be realized because at least 15 of the 22 airports to be remodeled will be dormant. The MMA2 in lagos as at 2012 had not generated any profit and no local airport in Nigeria would be as busy as MMA2. |
collynzo2: Your name is an apt description of you, cool story. 32k a year is 8million in Naira, people are earning more than that in a year here.If Nigeria is so "great" can you please tell us why the 1st lady goes to Germany for treatment? |
For now, they are still fixing the airpor but once it's complete, it is suppose to be international. The aviation minister did create a route with international airlines to start landing in that airport. why do you think they went after her few months ago accusing her of ethnic bigotry just because the woman was doing her job. I cannot wait till it's done. I just cannot wait. I think almost everyone is tired of landing in lagos and then driving those long hours to your destination. in my opinion, GEJ should fix PH airport, change Asaba airport from an international cargo airport to airport for the people, build an international in either akwa-ibom or calabar. if that man do all that then he got my greatest gratitude.
You don't just build airports for the sake of building it. |
Amya: The truth is, those Nigerians that migrate to other country because they want a more quality life are the very reason we will never develop. The oyinbo's that made the west what it is today did not flee their country when it was bad and torn up in wars and other terrible things. Rather they built their country to what they wanted it to be. What we have here now is folks that run at the first sight of trouble. London people developed london, Nigerian people, develop your own country!Actually the people that built London and every other developed country did not vote their president because he was from their region/tribe/religion e.t.c Can you say that about Nigeria and Nigerians? |
Only God knows when next. |
emmysenior: Grabs my bread and okoro soup in readiness for loyalists & apologists show down. .Guy abeg no chop the head of fish oh... I dey come make i wash hand join you. |
Uclloyd28: Get the whole truth @ OPI guess you were not in Nigeria when Tinubu |
Nairaland is a wikipediaoffools.....so pple re happy dat bridge fell in america in other to justify that ebele had no shoes
With those kind of people, there is no hope. |
If this were to be in Nigeria, a lot of dunces will be asking for the head of the President - especially if America has a DollarLand forum.
Governors and Senators have resigned because of "little" things such as infidelity and you can be rest assured that if collapse was due to man-made error, somebody's head will roll... I wonder if you can say that about GEJ's government. You are actually the dunce and don't deserve anything good in life |
