TheCongo2: Thanks for your feedback. I always thought all computer languages tackle issues the same way. No there are different classifications of programming language Static vs Dynamic, functional vs object oriented. The difference between functional and Object oriented is so wide, that when trying to switch from one to the other, the first advice you get is forget everything you know about programming. TheCongo2: Now, how can one learn to program without been in a contest of a language ? Is there any materials you may recommend. This is hard and it mostly comes by experience. I really don't know any good book that can explain the concept. TheCongo2: I am into computer networking with a passion for automation. Therefore I am learning to program IRQ interrupt, arduino... That's awesome. |

TheCongo2: I am confused about the bolded. How can one learn to program without learning a programming language? Learning to program is learning to solve problems. An example is learning to communicate rather than learning English or French. Of course you would need a language to communicate but they are two different things. Same with programming, its learning to solve problems with computers and most times one would use a programming language but people who just learn a programming language can only solve problems in the context of the programming language they learnt. Their problem solving skills is built around the language they learnt. On the other hand those who learn to program, try to solve the problems independent of a programming language, when they have a solution they use the best language to implement. TD bank is having a talent hunt this week in Ottawa, I put it in my last post but it was removed and I was banned by the anti spam bot. |

Wouldn't have thought so by a long stretch. I don't actively do twitter anyways. So what do I know.
It will all end in praise IJN! Lots of tech people advertise when their teams/company are recruiting. It's one sure way to at least get a human to view your cv. I recently joined twitter just for that. If you check my earlier post, I stated that I got my job via reddit. Lots of ways to get a job, just be open and willing to try. I always say whenever "No" is the worst that can happen with an opportunity, go for it. So any platform that can connect you to people is a potential recruiting platform. |

Unlimited22: Does this mean that HTML, CSS3, Bootstrap, node etc aren't worth the hassle? Swift? Node is Javascript on the server so I had it covered in the first post. SWIFT is for IOS development so its worth it. One of the best advice i ever received was "Don't learn a programming language, learn to program" once you understand this, your career will take off. HTML and CSS are for front end jobs but in my opinion, its something most people who have done any web development should know, so it doesn't count as a "big skill". |

Unlimited22: Make una give us hope na... Salary, work conditions, job availability, certifications, etc. Please na Getting the first job is always the hardest and might be frustrating. Salary is ok/good/great depending on experience, company and personal preference. Work conditions also differ by company but it tends to be positive for most. You can also look for remote jobs or jobs with flexible work hours. For availability, I'd say there are lots of jobs for developers but experience and skills play a big factor in the availability. I know for a fact that most software companies didn't want Amazon to choose a Canadian city for their 2nd HQ because it would drive wages up. Talking of Amazon, they are recruiting for their Seattle office (4 recruiters have reached out to me since December last year). Certifications don't matter (90% of the time) in Software development. My employers know I went to school because it's on my resume so I could have lied and gotten away with it because no one has asked to see even a copy of my certificate. LinkedIn and Twitter are good places to hear about job opportunities. Feel free to ask more questions if you have any. |

where you there when they signed the contract for the supply if those aircraft, to know if it includes training and all those things you mentioned, if buhari really didn't embezzled the funds why would he hurriedly pay for those aircraft without the approval of the legislature and still will wait till 2020 to get the aircrafts to Nigeria. weaponry of an aircraft that costs 2x if not 3x the price of the planes itself. before you speak anything think first.. never has any country weaponize a plane and spend almost 3x the original price of the plane, are they stocking it with nuclear weapons... Bros buying a plane is not the same as buying a car. You pay for a plane before it is made. |

Sexytemi: I said she should have said for personal use using saving money as an excuse instead of saying for a friend when she already said she had no one over there, if you're going to lie about something make it a clean one, the "i don't have any friend then i want to give it to a friend" made them deport her and not because of how plenty the weaves were. There's a limit to what you can bring in for personal use and she crossed that limit that's why she was flagged. Lots of people carry things for others and immigration officers know this. Some foreign schools introduce new students to people from their country to help them settle down quickly so at the time she applied for a visa she might not have had a friend but that might have changed. Also with social media, all it takes to make a friend is a tweet. The quantity she carried actually betrayed her. PS: if there's no limit to what can be carried, then every importer would claim personal use for their goods and skip paying import duties. |

Sexytemi: she should have been smart about it, like telling them its for personal use since she's new and would want to save money on weaves. There's a limit to what you can bring in and from the narration above, she carried way more than personal limit permits. Also remember immigration agents are trained to detect anomalies and people trying to game the system. |

The result of greed and not knowing the rules.
1) Your visa doesn't guarantee that you can enter a country, that is determined by an immigration officer at the border, you'll do well not to draw attention yourself when traveling on a non immigrant visa.
2) You can't start a business on a student visa, the lady forgot she was going to a country were rules and regulations are followed. |

I was only quoting someone who implied that the supposed lady doesn't know how to communicate in English without blunders.
The only issue here (based on what we have in that screenshot above) is that the lady could not differentiate between a Formal and an Informal communication. How is the employer supposed to know she can communicate in English? |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Lady Loses A Job After She Sent Messages Using Abbreviations by AZeD1(m): 11:08pm On May 04, 2018 |
CriticMaestro: What I don't agree with the man is the way he tries to potray the scenario as if he knew that she's not capable of handling the job... The key instrument used in judjing her was her attitude not ability... But the man is trying to frame it like from their actions we shall know them Ability can be taught, attitude cannot so when it comes hiring, people hire for attitude. If she can't be cautious when looking for a job, what are the chances of the lady being dedicated when she gets the job? harmbhrosz: the fact that she short-handed every of her text doesn't automatically implies that she's bad in English communication, I have friends who are fluent in both written and oral English language but when they come online to chat me they end up abbreviating everything that you'll almost not make sense from their chat if you're not familiar with them........that's just the influence of social media.
The lady in context might just be carried away while sending those texts, (I'm 87% sure she won't write in an interview the same way she sent those text)
So I was only saying you shouldn't conclude that she's bad at communicating in English or won't take corrections if given. Chatting with friends is different from chatting with a potential employer or a stranger. So many qualified people looking for jobs why hire one who can't be a***d to compose a simple message? |
