I don't really have a preference between the two but I have a huge problem with Bode George controlling Lagos. As bad as Tinubu has been, Bode George the ex-convict will be an even worse nightmare. So no to Agbaje for that reason alone. (Modified). Don't even get me started on that abomination called Koro. |
For goodness sakes it's too soon for GMB to be giving interviews to CNN. The first few days should be spent of consolidating his victory and developing strategies for governance. He's probably still sleep deprived and over stressed from the whole election process. That Amanpour interview wasn't a good look at all. |
I am personally convinced that FFK was secretly working for the APC all along. The way he went about his job made many people to dislike Jonathan and it's obvious that APC had a mole in the inner circle of the PDP. It was probably Fani. |
Yes. Jonathan deserves the praises he is getting for conceding. Sit tight syndrome is the major bane of African democratic experiments and Jonathan by refusing to sit tight has proven himself to be a true statesman and set an example for future leaders of the country. He is a hero of democracy. His gesture signals the end of the experimental phase of Nigeria's democracy and the beginning of real democracy in our country. |
OP, you are a joker. Even those of us who are die-hard Buhari supporters know that GEJ made history with his concession. He had every right to contest the results if he wanted to but he chose not to do that so that peace can reign in the land. Pls he deserves all the commendation he is receiving for his noble gesture and more. When Orubebe opened his mouth to start spewing nonsense I took it as a signal from Jonathan and was expecting the worst, he pleasantly surprised me with his concession. I am now a Jonathan as well as a Buhari fan. One Nigeria! |
Goodluck Jonathan a true statesman, Nigeria's best president so far. As much as I love and respect GMB I can only hope that he will replicate the humility and democratic tendencies that Jonathan has demonstrated by quickly conceding defeat and congratulating the winner. Honestly I expected a protracted court battle after the announcement and a possible judicial overturning of the results. Now that Jonathan has conceded, that outcome is all but impossible. GEJ you try. Sai Jonathan! God bless Nigeria. |
I am one of GMB's biggest supporters and one of Jonathan's biggest critics, but by conceding defeat he has redeemed himself totally in my eyes. In my opinion he is now the single best president that Nigeria has ever had and the true father of Nigerian democracy. The days of do or die politics might now be truly over because of him. Goodluck Jonathan is an unsung hero of democracy, may history be ever kind to him. |

bdidi:No! One can be too late when you are the leader of an entire country. Being late has cost Nigeria 15,000 innocent lives that were needless wasted. The buck stops with the president and commander in chief to deal decisively with any threats to national security. GEJ has failed and just like those innocent lives are dead and cannot be brought back, his political career should be equally as dead after today's elections. |
taharqa:You are the one speaking like a f00l as you try to defend the indefensible. Can you honestly declare that Jonathan has done well as commander-in-chief? |
GMB |
Bad omen and bad market for GEJ. |
tonytony208:Boko Haram has been an active menace for five years now. Why did the Nigerian govt wait until a few months ago before trying to get weapons to fight them? |
Any politician can write a manifesto and make campaign promises. The difference here is that one person has had almost six years to deliver on his manifesto and campaign promises. After failing woefully to do so, he is now asking for another four years of the same old thing. I think it's time for us to give the other person a chance. |
GEJ the gamble is you. Reelecting you would mean gambling with the future of Nigeria and the posterity of all our children. |
ichidodo:Jonathan can never win the southwest this time around. That is the simple truth that will become clear for everyone to see on Saturday. |
Is there any verifiable source for this information? |
Mgbadike80:Obviously you haven't read that letter. Go and read it again. It was addressed to northerners in general. |
Buhari writes a last minute letter addressed to all Nigerians. GEJ writes a last minute letter addressed to only northerners. Lets you know the state of mind of both candidates just before the election. |
This shameless ploy for northern votes at the very last minute is nothing but insult upon injury. After ignoring Boko Haram for five years he decided to tackle the issue six weeks to the elections. Now he is late again to the game making a case for the north to vote for him when he did nothing to improve their security situation until over 15,000 people had died. Thinking the north will vote for Jonathan at this point is the height of wishful thinking. |
anonimi:That is old news. The projection has now changed and Nigeria is no longer expected to be among the top fastest growing economies in 2015. The 7% projected growth rate is now down to about 4%. |
peteonline:The ones they borrowed before how many jobs did it create? Remember this was the same woman who negotiated Nigeria's debt forgiveness some years back under Obj now she is the one piling on more debt. With the way we manage our resources in this country any future debt negotiation will be unlikely. |
Bizibi:There are many known military collaborators and enablers of Delta state origin. An example is Chief Sunny Odogwu who was a major backer and financier of IBB's regime. He might not be from Isoko but he is definitely not from the north as well. The bottom line is that the military did not rule without civilians and the north did not rule without the south. |
Bizibi:You can't be serious. Mention which tribe you are from and I will list for you some of the politicians in civilian dress from there who assisted the so-called Hausa/Fulani military to ruin this country. You think people from any part of Nigeria are innocent of the mess we are in today? All this northern vs. southern nonsense is the same strategy they have been using since 1960 to steal our money without any consequences while we continue to bicker and quarrel among ourselves. Whenever corrupt politicians gather together to share our stolen common wealth they don't know who is from the north or who is from the south. |
Sweetguy25:Nonsense. There is no single Hausa/Fulani military ruler that ruled this country without any input from politicians of other ethnic groups. The idea that northerners single handedly ran the country under the military is a bald faced lie. Besides there is no doubt that ethnic politics have continued unabashed under Goodluck Jonathan. |
Sijo01:Nothing, but his father steals Nigeria's money for a living. |
Sweetguy25:Civilians have been just as bad or even worse than the military in providing good governance and promoting democracy. Goodluck Jonathan has definitely been worse than any military ruler when it comes to safeguarding lives and security in Nigeria. |
That multi-billion |
Bonapart:And after they have "ceased" the whole north where do you think they will head to next? As long as terrorism exists in Nigeria nowhere will be safe. |
Who did more harm to the Igbos during the civil war, Obasanjo or Buhari? If civil war sentiments are still a very strong factor in eastern politics then why did Igbos vote for Obasanjo in 1999 and 2003 when he was the very same commander who forced the surrender of Biafra. Remember Ojukwu himself was a candidate in the 2003 elections yet the Igbos rejected his candidacy. Now they are supposed to have issues with Buhari who was a mere captain during the war with no command over any troops. I think someone is clearly trying to pull a fast one on eastern voters in this election. Hopefully they won't fall for it. |
It's all a figment of your overactive imagination. Flets: |
