Hey, he works for the Central Bank of Nigeria, I suppose that automatically means he is helping to rebuild Nigeria daily.

If you ask me, its people with Paw Paw's mentality that are part of the problem with the country, the Agbero personality,
its either their way or the highway. With people like you who are so quick to call a fellow resident Nigerian a "prostitute"
for daring to disagree with you, is there any surprise that hundreds of thousands who see no other way out are queuing daily for visas to leave the sorry country?

Yes, I said sorry country, I love Nigeria as my homeland and visit there every year, but it's still a very sorry country,
the evidence abound on the ground unless you chose to ignore it, I suppose that's your idea of nation of building.

You should trying getting out of the country once in a while, it might help repair your twisted perspectives.
You wonder why we have the type of government have.  Every Nigerian female is a prostitute.  I say I cannot wait to get my visa.  I have had enough of Nigeria!!!! Everyday, from okada riders to the President will call a nigerian woman a prostitute.  Even when you have no business with the matter.  I say I tire for Nigeria!!!!!

People like Paw Paw can never survive outside Nigeria. Only because of this "agbero mentality" as you rightly put it!!!!

Often times, I wonder why its so easy for us in Nairaland to pick quarrels with ourselves. One should be able to write whatever one feels about any topic and whoever wants to disagree with such views can do so without insulting the other party. We need to step down our agressions towards ourselves, its not healthy, abeg.
Because we collectively have a problem with "misplaced anger management"!!!

Yes, I do understand that your angst is directed towards those people who think that they are better than people in Nigeria, just because they travel abroad and take up jobs which they would not take up in Nigeria. Those who bring Nigerians down, and berate them.

However, you waste no time in berating and bringing down the Nigerian under your nose who just wants a better life for herself.
What is there to understandhuh

Paw-Paw:
@BABEELOVE
Haba for 3 days you've been begging any one who would listen to help you find a visa. Nigga pleeeeeeeese GET A JOB in Nigeria rather than travelling to Italy to Service 70yr old men. If you are in the "Service industry" why not work here? Give me a bell I'll link you with some high profile politicians.

PS
If you look as ugly as you talk then don't bother. Italy will be a better option. Mama grace is recruiting now.
See you later.
You obviously know more about this type of business than I do. Don't worry. It has been perfected in Nigeria so I will call you for referrals--just in case I do not get my visa to Belgium!!!!. No need to go all the way to Italy, when I can make the same amount of money in Nigeria.

If you haven't figured it out, the post by "Aisha" is a sort of appeal to diasporean Nigerians to be objective in their critique of the homeland.

Aren't you being a little delusional here.  They do not concentrate on your problems trust me!  You think the same stories you see on your DSTV and Sky or what ever you call them is what Americans seehuh When I visited both countries, I was amazed at what type of news was being disseminated to Africa.  On getting to America, it was a whole different ball game.  My dear, what you are seeing are selectively filtered pieces of news.  America only focuses on Africa when there is a threat to the oil supply and to check the flow of diseases that we cannot cure.  Also, to monitor their paranoia of terrorist activites, since they understand our African governments so well.

I feel ashamed that the western world understands us better than we understand them.  Yes we were colonized be the Brits!!!  But I do not think we learned much from the experience and it is shameful!!!  Yet we call them "mugu" because we can fleece some of them for a "fist full of dollars"!!!  You really do not understand the quicksand the whole African race is in.  I wake up most days very depressed on how a group of people I share hereditary links with can exist and yet not exist!!!! denex, you are very naive!!!!  Your mentality and arguements really confirms the general hopelessness of the whole African continent.  The good news is that it is not going to be for ever.  But the bad news is that "not in this life time" will we see any change!  Sorry!!!

Make una dey here dey FEAR.

We are already advocating for the Federal Government to use the new Digitalised Nigerian Passport as a means to register all Real Nigerians.

Passports should only be offered in Nigeria. So all those people that are naija-for-mouth will be rendered without citizenship, so that when Nigeria don better, they will need to apply for Nigerian citizenship just like Lebanese, Togolese and Indians.

All this "Nigeria is useless" people will soon be turned country-less.
Who said Nigeria is "useless"huh  It may be "hopeless" but not "useless"!!!  How do you explain 80% of the gen pop--waking up every morning and looking at the heavens above for some type of relief from self inflicted maladieshuh

Does this means no more dual citenzenshiphuh  I am sure the rest of the world will be flooding all Nigerian consulates for this golden "green" passport!!!  So this is the main problem you have right nowhuh

k0be:
Nigerians have given you a reason to fight.   you hear them crying, you hear them complaining about the current situations, you hear them calling, will you become our MLK? help us differentiate madness from sanity, fight for us, lmao.  A mind as innovative and creative as yours can implement a plan with the help of fellow Nairaland users that feel as disturbed about our current standard of living as you do but sit in their chairs badmouthing the country yet doing very little to help.

Until you're willing to get involved for us, for a different cause, continue to sit in your chair badmouthing Nigeria, but don't forget to point the finger at yourself as one of the many reasons why the nation isn't turning a new leaf.  I do urge you to praise Nigeria when you're willing and able, don't forget it's still your motherland. so much for all that yeye world peace when you can't even fight for peace in your backyard.
Who is bad mouthing Nigeria for heaven's sakehuh  I am only "true mouthing" Nigeria oh!!!

Not turning a new leafhuh I thought one thread said something about "a sweet wind" blowing across Nigeria---I knew it was an evil wind smelling from some dumpster of Onitsha, New Benin Market or Ajegunle some how!!! grin  Are you now telling me that the thread was a "teaser lie-lie" threadhuh

k0be:
Denex, I reason with you there mehn.
Nigeria is awful, Nigeria sucks, Nigeria's terrible, the government is crazy, people are dying, poverty everywhere, nepa don take light, etc.  Anyone can point fingers.

Why is Nigeria awful, and how can I help to fix it.
From your mouth to God's ears!!!  Please visit Oyakhilome, Oritsejafor, Okotie or any of those "wholeys" for answers---since I cannot help you. This has entered the "spiritual" realm of adjudicatons!!!  I think it is easier for me to preach world peace because this "backyard" you referred to is one helluva "tabasco hot mess"!!!!

you don't know. you can never know until you try. if you try and fail, then in many cases you're able to try again, but this is a possible game of life and death, so if you fail you don't get a second crack at it. fear i tell you, the same fear you have of dying a lonely death, is the fear that crosses the minds of many Nigerians that you accuse of "not knowing left from right."

I will not by any means attempt to cheapen your life, but if you want a noticeable difference you can be the starting point for the difference, or you can help ignite the change. if you do nothing, you'll continue to question and still nothing, I repeat nothing will get done. It's easy to point fingers, but at the same time realize that you're not bold enough to take the same steps you're asking others to take in the name of changing Nigeria. Talk I tell you, is cheap.

The comparison to African American is a usable one. It is valid in that frame of discussion. MLK's dream was transformed to an achievement because he worked for it. He didn't say, "I have a dream that I will only pursue if my dream will come true." You mentioned earlier about doing something because it's the right thing to do, now you're saying you won't do it because you're unsure of the outcome?
Once again I would like to remind you that African Americans gave MLK the reason to fight.  I am not one who jumps into things without a plan.  What exactly is the plan herehuh  For me to leave everything I am doing and jump on Oshodi express way and start campaigning for my sacrificehuh In a country where madness and sanity cannot be differentiatedhuh

You cannot keep trying for an ill-formed citizenry that has no concept of "basic human rights"!!!  That is laughable.  Tell it to the ones in the villages who do not even know if they are dead or alive.  All they wait for is the next cool stash of cash coming from their relatives in the cities.  What type of life is thathuh The world is an evolutionary process.  It has not gotten to our turn yet!!!  What an elderly man sees sitting down, the child can never see even if he climbs the Statue of Lady Liberty!!!  I say we are not there yet, so let the band play on!!!

Are you sure you are not related to Mohadanahuh shocked You are really frightening. Please, America is not our country---let us concentrate on our own problems I beg you. If Nigerians has 1/100th of the fighting spirit of Americans--we will not be were we are today. Now tell me, Iraq was invaded by America on purpose--I agree, for whatever selfish reasons.

Despite the fact that the whole world has abandoned the course in Iraq as a useless one, the Americans refuse to cut and run. Still fighting and shedding more blood on both sides. You here posting your Mohadana-style links here. They are busy trying to solve their own problems and here you are neglecting yours and sleeping with America and her problems on your mind.

My dear--just relax!!!

it's plain to see that you not only fear You-F-Os and religion. your fears are much more than you will ever realize in this life time.See the texts in bold?

Especially the first, that can be considered a type of fear. though reasonable, you fear
your soul will go to waste, and you will not shed a pint of your blood unless you're rest-assured that the sacrifice will be successful. the heros of yesterdaythe martin luther kings you behold, they put their lives on the line during their revolt. they weren't sure about the outcome, but they knew the pursuit was one worth dying for.
Sorry, it is not out of fear but out of common sense for what I know will be useless and futile!!!  When did the use of common sense become synonymous with "fear"?  Do you think that any life, including mine, is cheaphuh To be used as a useless sacrifice for people who do not know left from righthuh  It is just like telling me to put my hand in a fiery furnace and believe I will not get burned!!!  Are you for realhuh  Anyway, since you think so much about it, die first and I will follow!!! wink

I am not afraid of what your bolded up there!  Did MLK die alonehuh  The African Americans were able to make sure he did not die in vain.  Try that in Nigeria!!!  People will even spit on your grave and call you a "muggy mugu mumu"!!!  Even Christ has to come again to die because the first sacrifice was apparently rendered useless. You are actually comparing African Americans to Africanshuh You are joking righthuh  Who told you they weren't sure of the outcome.  Please go and read MLK's "I have a dream" speech!!!  The man had convictions.  When I feel that that kind of spirit has come over me--then we can talk!!!  Right now, let the band play on!!!!!
