Speaktruth88:Why the rubbish question?? When will people learn to attack an issue not the person asking question. The army said he was court martialed.. signaling due process was followed. My question was, did the army indeed follow due process or was court martial a false pretense of due process, was he deemed guilty before the trial began?... I was expecting a reasonable individual to respond like , yes or no. Yes due process was followed, he retained a lawyer but the court found him guilty or no due process was not followed. |
jaxxy:I did not.. you sounded like you knew details on the case that's why I asked. My original quote was just asking if he was giving a fair trial when he was court martialed. If the army followed due process, allowed him access to a lawyer, filed proper paperwork etc. If the army did not, there's no need to pretend they followed due process when infact they did not. |
jaxxy:Did you follow his case ? Who was his lawyer? |
jaxxy:No sentiment applied! What I am saying is why the false pretense of a court martial?? Court martial is just similar to a law court where the accused is giving a fair trial, a chance to plead their case. If the army weren't ready to follow due process, they should have executed him right away instead of pretending to follow a due process when they don't really intend to follow due process. |
andyanders:What is the point of the "court martial" if they don't intend to follow the law and give him a fair trial. The offense he allegedly committed is very reprehensible I might add but why is the army pretending to follow a due process when they actually are not affording him a due process? |
in as much as he was "alleged" to have committed a horrible crime. was he giving a fair trial?? |

Very funny... like Trump is excited about visiting Nigeria ![]() Well, he did this to himself... he could have bowed out jejejely and still command his 80m plus Twitter follower.. still have a strong base. 3 weeks before it was all over, he messed it up... tarnished his image. He name is now synonymous with riot and violent act, outlaws.. |
Boeing again? God please save your people. I pray this doesn't end on a sad note. ![]() |
n3xt:What a sad experience.... Is there any website, or office where someone could get a legitimate information regarding real estate before taking a leap?? It is sad that most of these "office people " in government do collaborate with bad guys to do this evil. Just wondering if there are still decent avenue for someone to source information before getting involved in a real estate transaction in Lagos. In the west, it's all there in the county/council assessor/recorders office. Who did this to us in Nigeria, Africa, government officials always backwards, gearing to cheat and deceive the people. No wonder so many people aren't proud to be Nigerians or African. The world richest man Elon Musk is African but he never claims to be ( I have never heard him mention he is African ) and the press never addresses him as African or mention his African background, I wouldn't imagine he would be excited and be bouncing off the ceiling if he is addressed as African - he might buy the news outlet and shut down their operations. |
Focusmind:Agreed! Everyone deserves a chance! I am glad michlins is doing well for himself. One thing that brings people down faster than they rise up is compromising on their work quality... allowing their head to get bigger than their shoulders. I hope michilins and everyone else keep calm and stay focused. The sky is the limit. |
spyder880:The first picture. The Contemporary style. Reason: it gives the house this elegant WOW factor. It made the building worth more than the high roof counterpart. It is just beautiful. My reservations: to achieve this roof, it requires a good technical know how, not just any "roofer" can climb up there and deliver this job. |
spyder880:Just curious, why was the soak away system being done this late in the game? I thought usually this things are done earlier before now? |
QuintessentialW:Maybe he wasn't 30 then ![]() |
QuintessentialW:Ahn ahn nah... this is 2020 oh in few hours now we will be in 2021. Most of Hanks movies like the Senator etc were about 15 - 20 years ago now. |
What he has in his hands is like a wrapper of $1 or say 2 wrappers at most which equals $200. $200 = N 77,600. ($1 = N388). |
michlins:The first window frame, is it a total lock up protector or is there an option for someone to open it from the inside, like to escape incase of fire or the likes.? |
I know a nairalander that will be happy.. Slowmirr |
bayo2018:This is all your choice Sir. People build bungalows and duplex for different reasons. Some build bungalows because of financial reasons or health reasons or just personal preference.. like if they are building for their old parents or they feel more comfortable just parking their car and walk right into their room. These are personal choice. As for the area, I have heard mixed reviews of ikorodu , I am not savvy with the area. Things to consider is what your present and future plans are? Do you like the area where this land is located? At the end of the day, you will live there not me or anyone else giving you suggestions. Are you going to be okay sleeping in this house after you build it?. This might sound funny but I have seen folks that built up their property but realized they don't like the area after spending millions to put up the build. 1 suggestion I will give you though, people's preference differs. Do what works best for you, your lifestyle and your situation. Consider all and make your choice. Do not make your choice because someone else said , ehm you will get tired of this. The person that said that, considering their personal situation they might have grown tired of theirs based on that which is not wrong. Everyone is unique and folks put up build for different reasons. On a personal level, assuming I like an area, I would go for bungalow with a pent house. Getting the best of both worlds. Good luck!! |
jedisco:Thank you!! |
spyder880:Oga Spyder880, yes this is getting unnecessarily out of hand and it shouldn't have. I have read comments here people saying apologize to who? Who gives a hoot about an apology? Speaking for myself, I care less about that. I don't believe any one was expecting the davodguy to roll on the floor and throw his hands up in the air asking for apology. If you go back to how this started, the meaning of his posts could go both ways depending on individual reading it. It makes one wonder , what his original intentions were? If someone think there message is being misunderstood, what stops them from chiming in and say, aye folks I don't know where this is heading but this weren't my intention, I was just trying to bring to everyone attention to be careful out there regardless of the tribe you are dealing with. Some people might call this an apology, some might say it is a clarification of one's position. Either way, this would have ended long before it started and issuing a clarifying message is not unusual in this climate to make sure your message wasn't distorted or misunderstood. |
DrGoodman: ![]() In as much I was infuriated by the situation, this made me chuckle! Aye, fight racism abroad and a tribal bigot back home.. silly individuals!! |
Don't mind the people instigating a tribal war and elders that were supposed to put them in check keeping quite. Like I tell everyone, what is wrong is wrong, speak up and condemn evil whenever and wherever. You might find yourself in a similar circumstance.. what goes around comes around. Few months ago, a nairalander here was alleged to have scammed another nairalander to the tune of N3m ( Three million Naira). The victim never came here to say, aye! All this tribe are scammers. The victim, respectfully and intelligently focused on the crime and not the tribe of the suspect and everyone else , me included followed suit, no one mentioned, aye if you are doing a project and need casement windows etc in Lagos or anywhere , beware of this tribe, they are all criminals. Or do you think folks didn't know the tribe of the scammer? The suspect, a nairalander said, ehm, he was in quarantine, this and that and then his dad died.. but we all respectfully and wisely ignored the tribe of the suspect. The thing then was folks beware of who you do business with this and that which was a plausible stance to take in those instances.. this is the stance I thought the davodguy should have taken.. aye folks, beware check your materials and your receipt before leaving the shop. Now, here we are!! Folks still think it is okay to condemn a whole tribe just because of a transaction that we don't even know if it happened, receipt posted here did not show all the details to ascertain if it was a calculation error. A one sided conversation and no one knows exactly what transpired.. if the supposedly aggrieved party was issued 2 different receipt and he posted only one of it. Or this could have even been an honest mistake, who knows? Regardless, assuming he was a victim of fraud, that doesn't justify calling a whole tribe criminals. |
bayo2018:I am just curious, why the question? 12m in building this days is not a lot of money, don't get me wrong. It is a lot but considering the high cost of materials these days, 12m might not be sufficient for a foundation work in some areas. Well, your primary focus is the intention of the building.. it doesn't matter if the land is worth 550m or 550k. If this is a private house, as long as you like the area and it suits your need, build your house and enjoy. If it is a rental property, do a market survey around the area to make sure it will worth your while. There will be a good Return on investment and your property wouldn't have a high vacancy rate. What kind of structure are you planning on to build? |
Rexology:I know, I want peace to reign like the next guy but what is wrong is wrong... frankly I was disappointed by the davodguy guys approach to this but more disappointed in some other people's reaction.. some well known names in this thread.. I think they should have made a comment to pacify this. We've got to stand up for what's right whether it was for or against you. Here's why, you could be on the receiving end of that treatment. Speaking of being singled out at the airport, I was traveling once and the guy sitting beside me was a Nigerian as well, different tribe from me. He was on the position of this tribes are this and that.. guess what, landed to catch our connecting flight, guess who was sent it for a secondary search? Not me, the flight was canceled beuavse of weather and the airline was lodging folks in a hotel, guess who was placed in a nice hotel? Me , the airline refused to put him in a hotel because he had a Nigerian passport. It was just Iike all those folks over heard our conversation. |
davodyguy:Oh you could be even open to that but you let this issue span pages ?? ![]() You yourself could have stopped all this and made a comment to clarify your stance not necessarily an apology not that the later is out of order. See oo, joke apart, if anyone have lived through "labeling,' having a target on your back just because you are a "Nigerian " it doesn't matter if you are igbo or yoruba, just Nigerian. You will see that experience is not funny, very demoralizing or someone just label you something you are not just because you are black.. Have you been singled out at an airport before just because of your green passport? Even though you are law abiding citizen but was labeled as a bad guy just because of your nationality? Things like your original statement should not be tolerated. So are you insinuating every one of yoruba decent doing business in Lagos is a saint?? There are no scammer , fraudulent people of yoruba decent doing business, scamming people and engaging in fraud in Lagos? Please let's be guided when we make those silly tribal assumptions. |
It depends, building from scratch allows you to personalize the house.. make it yours and you are sure of the quality. Again, there are areas where buying will seem like your only option, say for instance you want to Live in a particular area but there isn't empty land available.. the cost of buying an old bungalow, knocking it down to build yours might exceed the cost of buying outright. so buying is the option here.. |
I thought Onny Michael was her husband they make very good couple in Nolly wood movies. |
