Rumors spread very easily because nobody takes some time to double check the stories. Someone commented that a family of 6 died in Yola because of eating poisonous beans. Is that so? Can exact details be provided of the said family? What are their names? Where exactly did they live? etc.

I can understand that people will like to err on the side of caution but at the same time no responsible person should go about disseminating unproven stories. It worsens everything.

Swift "4G" is obviously a farce when they're still offering 512kbps - 2mbps. Ridiculous.
Been hearing a lot about Swift these days, didn't even know they claim to be 4G. Is it 4G as in LTE? Very funny people.

@AdeizaSama
Not exactly sure if wired broadband does lead to significant cost savings compared to wireless/mobile. Even though it is generally accepted that wired networks provide much better speeds as opposed to wireless, other countries have been able to implement very good wireless networks that deliver comparable if not matching broadband services. I mean, look at countries where the iphone 4 or Samsung Galaxy phones are officially available, they have networks that can support these bandwidth hungry mobile devices. If we had had such strong mobile services in this country then maybe the issue of online gaming would be dealt with. Wireless is still the way most Nigerians connect to the internet.

Gaming › Re: Why Most Nigerians Don't Play Online Games? by Bawss1(m): 10:15am On Aug 25, 2011
AdeizaSama:
I blame our broadband problems on the fact that Nigeria does not know how to handle technology. Just because mobile phones were introduced doesn't mean you should completely scrap land lines, we still had many more unexplored uses for it =/
Obviously someone hasn't heard of mobile broadband. Anyways broadband isn't dependent on wired connections so the fact that there are fewer land lines in use today has nothing to do with the issue at hand.

Even me in a yankish part of the world, as much as I like games, I much prefer a well written, well executed 1 player game (BioWare rulez) than an online time-waster because it just makes more sense to me and a 1 player game is less likely to insult my time.  grin

In a 1 player world, I feel special.  cheesy
What better way to totally detach me from the story than to have a quest saying "save me hero! you're our only hope!!" just to see that they are saying the same thing to 10 million other "heroes". I don't like to share  tongue

In a 1 player world, I know things have been executed in a manner where I don't have to spend hours of my most precious time "grinding" before I get to the end of things.
It's not always about saving the world you know. Don't you like playing or competing amongst your friends in tournament games?
There's an onscreen message in MW2 that says in effect; No one fights alone. Play with a friend in split screen or online. Very fitting quote for your case, no?  grin

Most repetitive game ever. . . Not necessarily a bad thing if what you're doing is actually fun(i.e AC). AA = grapple onto gargoyle, activate detective mode, wait for baddie, over and over and over!
C'mon the game was fun and the storyline wasn't bad.

Politics › Re: Gej Delivers Satellite Launch To Monitor Floods by Bawss1(m): 4:07pm On Aug 24, 2011
I think the satellite launch was a good thing however what I find objectionable is the 'spin' attempt by GEJ. He says "Following the floods of last year, this administration in fulfillment of my statement that your lives have value in my eyes, developed and launched the NigeriaSat-2 and NigeriaSat-X Satellites."
I mean that statement suggests that the satellites where built within a year as a result of a directive from GEJ. Come on. Looks more like he wants to score points. The C-in-C should be above all this.

Don't be silly. 45K as monthly income is not enough to start a family. . . unless you have a thing for undue hardship.

Sometimes people let that giddy feeling they call love override their common sense.

Sorry I didn't get back to you. Thing is I rarely get on PSN because of connection issues, the internet speed at home is not fit for online gaming. A pathetic situation, I know. Currently playing Black Ops now though. . .I haven't finished the campaign because I'm addicted to the zombie mode( in fact there are many titles I have that I haven't finished because of work mostly and my Black Ops addiction grin). When my friends come over then its Naruto Shipudden Ninja Storm 2 or COD (BO or MW2) split screen. smiley

I am going to get L.A Noire. I did a review check and saw that it has a good review score as a good game. I'll post what I think of it later. I've seen batman asylum, and sincerely, wasn't impressed.
How can you not be impressed by Batman Arkham Asylum? shocked Just play it some and your opinion will change in its favor.

MGS4 is a great game but its replay value is not as high as say COD - this is coming from someone whose moniker was derived from metal gear.  grin

Look at all these closet communists, didn't know we had them hiding in our mist all this while.

Its amazing to see how you guys are trying to make a case for a system that is fundamentally flawed. And what is even more amazing is that you refuse to acknowledge that ALL countries that have attempted this system have either abandoned it or are dying under it's dross - if they haven't modified it completely.

DOWN WITH THE COMMUNISTS!!!! cool
