@CitizenY

There is no "political process". There is only gangsterism and theft.
The sooner we learn that we have to build on the past to get to the future is the sooner the country would gain wisdom. Let us deal with the civil war thoroughly from every perspective.

The failure of political leadership is all around us today, we can't just forget the reason why and say, oh lets start afresh tomorrow. Tomorrow always starts from yesterday.

Na wa o! whatever happened to the isrealities that gave more than enough offering when moses asked of them, and the disciples who sold their properties to give to the work of God and some even lost their lives cos their didnt declare the true worth of their assets to the MEN OF GOD (ananaias and sapphirra)

Politics › Re: Almajiri - 10 Million Kids Beg In The North. by Beaf: 11:27am On Nov 24, 2009
The North is a catastrophe waiting to happen. The almajiri issue is Nigeria's greatest security threat.

When you visit the North, you really wonder what the lords and masters of these innocent souls achieved in their 40 years in power. It isn't just the uneducated almajiri's, it is destituition, the the abysmal quality of life. If you visit one of the hamlets that sort of pop up from the sorrounding desert / savanah as you drive by (Bauchi area), the air is always filled with a very strong faecal stench, there is so much tangible squalor and poverty; you wonder how the inhabitants could possibly survive till old age. It really is heart wrenching, the closest I have come such a feeling down south was when I found myself on a soul destroying tour of Ijora Badia (Lagos). The North has thousands of Ijora Badia's, only they are on dry land.

. . .after their own leaders have ruled this country for 40 years. But lets forget about their "leaders", something urgent needs to be done to improve and save lives.

Yes, but the Northern states don't go complaining at every opportunity about the teeming number of almajiris. And of the monthly allocation to the Northern states, no penny is voted towards solving the almajiri problem.
Oh, so as soon as you complain at every opportunity, others gain the right to stretch credulity? shocked

The almajiri problem is very serious, but I have learnt brand new and incredible ways to deal with such things. Let them catch their governors, just the same way the Ekiti man should from now on, catch any naked politician; it is a democracy.

Maybe after every state has answered its own name once or twice, we will learn that the measure should be equal. Let them hold their governors responsible.

Politics › Global Warming Alarming, Say Climate Experts by Beaf(op): 8:13am On Nov 24, 2009
Global warming science alarming, say climate experts

Three UK groups studying climate change have issued an unprecedented statement about the dangers of failing to cut emissions of greenhouse gases.
The Royal Society, Met Office, and Natural Environment Research Council say the science underpinning climate change is more alarming than ever.
They say the 2007 UK floods, 2003 heatwave in Europe and recent droughts were consistent with emerging patterns.
Their comments came ahead of crunch UN climate talks in Copenhagen next month.

'Loss of wildlife'
In a statement calling for action to cut carbon emissions, institutions said evidence for "dangerous, long-term and potentially irreversible climate change" was growing.
Global carbon dioxide levels have continued to rise, Arctic summer ice cover declined sharply in 2007 and 2008, and the last decade has been the warmest on average for 150 years.
Persistent drought in Australia and rising sea levels in the Maldives were further indicators of possible future patterns, they said.
They argue that without action there would be much larger changes in the coming decades, with the UK seeing higher food prices, ill health, more flooding and rising sea levels.

Known or probable damage across the world includes ocean acidification, loss of rainforests, degradation of ecosystems and desertification, they said.
In 2007, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change warned the world faced more droughts, floods, loss of wildlife, rising seas and refugees.
But Prof Julia Slingo, chief scientist of the Met Office, Prof Alan Thorpe, chief executive of Nerc, and Lord Rees, president of the Royal Society, said cutting emissions could substantially limit the severity of climate change.

Meanwhile, a White House official has said the US will announce a target for reducing greenhouse gas emissions before next month's Copenhagen summit.
President Barack Obama has not yet decided whether to attend.

What does his tribe or tribal marks have to do with his ambition of becoming nigeria's president?.
It is very important to find out if becomerich is from Hogbonou (AKA Porto Novo) in Benin Republic. Hence the need to trace the origin of his tribal marks.

Lol . . . . don't know of Finger printing for e-voting either. I mean I can attest to the fact that finger printing is used in some places at voting boots and not facial recognition here.
Don't mind me jare.
But it really is becoming the standard (especially with the advent of 3D detection). You might do your normal fingerprinting, but never notice the camera. It has used extensively and very successfuly to cut out fingerprint manipulation in passports, drivers licenses, elections etc. If you have ever been asked for a picture ID (the don't smile or look sideways type), you now know what it was for.

For the purpose of fatezy's project, it should be relatively cheap to set up with a cheap webcam. Source code for 3D and other face recognition techniques is widely available on the web for download in various languages.

I was at the founders day and the scene created by students was very entertaining.  grin Students brought home their demand on this occasion, barricaded the entrance to the school for five hours following the  refusal of the acting VC to address the student. NO body left or entered the AUDITORIUM. Security and police officers were overwhelmed with the crowd and were possibly handicapped. Thereafter some group of students under the umbrella NADESU, 'National Association of Delta state students' came in their multitude to welcome IBORI but met a standstill as the formal governors convoy was on standstill for almost 1 hour. After the two fraction clashed. the SUG president came with a plan, - to allow Ibori convoy enter the AUDITORIUM so the could use that medium to gain access to the Auditorium. to their surprise IBORI was already in the Auditorium. STudents entered the auditorium and all invited guest flee for their lives, taking over the Auditorium for about 30 minutes, all chanting various solidarity songs. The story contiunes. . .
Uniben will always be great. I wish other schools could be like this. No slacking.

General Akinrinade and a couple of other powerful Yoruba's are far from the biafran that worry you.
What are these powerful forces holding the country together? Is it not oil? A massive number of Igbo's are unhappy, the North has taken to sharia, the Middle Belt and ND are newly aggravated. . .
The only thing holding us together is oil. Nigerians don't even love each other (it is so easy for them to bay for the blood of their fellows). I could go on and on.

It is not new that Pastor Tunde Bakare does not like anything about these two great apostle of Christ. The reason, I don't know. The summary of all he said about Bishop Oyedepo is that he doen't believe in Anointing Oil, Mantle and feet watching which is not a big deal but just his understanding of the scripture. I would also advice anyone that want to have an independent opinion about this to read the book that Pastor Tunde Bakare is condenming. I believe it is titled " THE MYSTERY OF THE ANOINTING OIL" Just open your mind and be independent while reading and look at the verses of the scriptures.

Issues he raised with Pastor E.A Adeboye seems to hinge on the fact that Pastor Bakare believes that he was the one that receive the vision for Redeem's growth. God is a faithful God and I believe he could also lead Pastor Bakare to grow his ministry much bigger than Redeem.

Everyone has freedom of speech and opinion and  anyone that is expecting a war of words will wait till eternity. I'm definitely sure that neither  Bishop Oyedepo nor Pastor Adeboye would  respond to all these. I must also tell you that this things are not new and it doen't signify any crisis in the body of Christ. If you are a Christian and after reading this, you Faith is shaking, I want to encourage you to see all these as part of the devices of the devil.  Now that your miracle is around the corner, don't be discourage.
Ha! ochukoccna:
1stly, I've read through the whole interview and I believe the headline-on his leaving Redeemed- was appended to make this weeks' edition of the mag a sellout. I believe I can hardly be faulted upon this assertion. That apart, I believe the interview dwelt with 2 primary things i.e. the state of the nation and the state of the church. Yet because of Bakare's bluntness and uncommon boldness which flows from his character, he's seen as first and foremost a rabble-rouser.  If one looks @ the replies so far, it mostly of the religious slant yet that was just one of the 2 main issues he addressed. Even the topic was posted in the politics section but it now seems to have degenerated into religious thread. Even @ that [been a religious thread now] it is still a very intelligent interview that 1 can draw intelligent assertions from yet many choose not to. Why? Is it because many 9ja 'Christians' are actually not living by the standard of the Word of God but rather the Word of the pastor? Note the difference. Places of worship are filled every Sunday in Lagos [don't know about your city but believe it's same] yet no righteousness. Now some1 rises to spit the apparent truth in our faces and many say he should let 'sleeping dogs lie' in the name of peace and brotherly love. Peace indeed! While the pulpit is stinking to high heavens! Is the 9ja Church not ashamed that her leading lights were implicated as kingpins of the banking crisis currently sweeping the land? I recall some1 based in the UK telling me that it was the Ibru's, Akingbola's and the ilk were the ones been held out by the Church as Christian business role models to emulate. No 1 is infallible but that's such a sad commentary on the church of today. Again,I say, no 1 is perfect but I believe what Bakare is shouting out is we need to have standards even in our quest toward perfection.
We so called unbelievers have been telling you so called born agains that your pastors are stealing you black and blue. Not only that, they are also sleeping with your women. These things are obvious to all but the blind, so here we are laughing. But no! It was always, "things of the spirit cannot be explained by the flesh blah blah". . . Who is laughing now? Pastor go buy plane una go say na to do God work. . . Na wa!

Better tear down those houses of marmon. You can better serve God by being useful to society, instead of serving as vassals to thieves and scoundrels (just like Boko Haram).

I wonder why he hasn't said anything about those who kill children in SS "evangelical" churches. Devils.
