Events / Re: Rationale Behind Many Speakers At A Single Day Event? by BennyDGreat: 12:52pm On Aug 19, 2023
layuns:
A standard duration for a talk is 45 minutes to 1 hr, often with time for questions and answer at the end.. Even though it can be extended to about 2hrs per person.

Guest speaker must have the leadership, humor, authenticity, and confidence to engage the audience for the duration of their session.
Decide on how they'll contribute to event goals. Speakers are meant to energise the crowd, inspire them, support the event themes, add value by sharing insider knowledge, offer a new perspective, break up the more routine aspects of the event and entertain.

To this note, for an event that will last till 4pm, about 4 or 5 numbers of speakers are enough for the day, excluding the keynote speaker.

Good submission. Some have like 15-20 speakers

Remember God in all you do and keep His words and commandments close to your heart

Pray before leaving your house

Create time to read and meditate on God's word.

Stay away from office romance

Stay away from allegiance

Stay neutral

Come early leave 15mins after close of work unless you have loads to cover and the next day wouldn't be enough to sort it out

Don't fall for damsel in distresses

Don't lend out money to people, if you are led to lend, give what you know you can let go of when they don't pay back

Don't be Mr Nice employee

Keep your mouth shut and your eyes and mind open

Speak less listen more

Detect the bullshit before it happens

Make friends, give value always and expect nothing in return

Stay away from office gossip unless it favours your goals and ambitions,

keep up to date with office affairs

Go the extra mile and think 100 steps ahead

Always be calculative

Congratulations, smart organizations have targets n objectives set for employees. When u get urs break it down to actionable items n focus on delivering ur target. Perhaps u encounter challenges while at it first critically analyze it come up with 3 likely solutions then approach ur supv clearly stating the challenge then present ur likely options of solutions for him or her to guide in best option. Always remember u were hired to add value the moment ur value dwindles the organization will not hesitate to show u d way out. As said earlier by others integrity teamwork & customer care are sure propellers. All d best. 1 more thing set ur targets for what u want out of the opportunity & network people are d key. Thank u

Events / Rationale Behind Many Speakers At A Single Day Event? by BennyDGreat: 11:24am On Aug 19, 2023
While working on a couple of projects this week, I came in contact with the profile of someone from Facebook.

He's a convener of a large-sized conference within a University setting. What immediately caught my attention was the number of speakers that attended his last event.

I tried to zoom in on the graphics design but I got overwhelmed almost immediately.

A lot of thoughts began to run through my mind and I began to question the effectiveness of this type of conference.

Sometimes, conferences like this could start from 8AM and end around 4/5pm. In some cases, you get refreshment and slight breaks. In other cases, you get no breaks nor refreshment.

What do you think is the maximum amount of speakers a single day event ought to have?

How many hours is the max amount you would expect from a single day event?

Would the attendees ever take home information they can work on or would they be too full to even digest due to information overload?

Why do these conveners gather so many folks?
For networking? For show off? Or for the attendees to have enough established folks to network with?...share your thoughts....let's engage Nairaland!

AND THE US GOT RICH BY ENSLAVING AFRICANS AND INVADING DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY 98% OF NATIONS ON EARTH TO STEAL THEIR RESOURCES.

IT IS A LOT EASIER TO “MANAGE” a 7.6 TRILLION DOLLAR ANNUAL BUDGET THAN A 40 BILLION DOLLAR BUDGET OF NIGERIA.

YOU MUST ALWAYS STUDY THE HISTORY OF THE PEOPLE YOU WORSHIP, SO YOU CAN STOP FEELING INFERIOR TO THEM.

Stay within the context.

No matter how much a nation earns, with poor management, the nation won't achieve much.

Yet another nation with earning not as much could be faring better due to prudent management of resources.

It's not basically about population. It's more about management. U.S population pass Nigeria own na

If you want more motivation, watch Tayo Aina's interview of some top guys in tech earning up to 250k dols a year. Staying in Ikoyi and living large from tech
If you need help with learning anything coding, you can reach out to me.

The need for tech talents is sooo much now, that even with the huge inflow of people into tech, there is still a veryyyy large deficit of tech savvy people around the world
It's now in our position to get the skills needed for these jobs and start earning

This one na just cruise na... Although such happen

I was once a member of organising committee for a wedding and we created a special canopy for the groom's "club people"... Atleast that's what we were told

They came in their cars, president of the club walked with a limp, they carried a statue of a weird looking being, and all of them lined up behind the carrier of the statue to their canopy... Statue was placed on the only table in that canopy. Before seating, each member bowed to the statue... Imagine money being placed on the statue before being sprayed, and trust me, *THEY SPRAYED MONEY*... Groom was just around 30years or so

Funny part was some ladies coming to meet me to link them with some of the guys under the canopy, since I was the once in charge of that section, as if I knew them

Na so dem go carry wetin pass dem cos of money

A close tech bro of mine earning 7k dols per month. Naira moved 100 naira and his salary increased by over 700k. Dey play. Even if na copywriting or digital marketing

Good effort by the team at Google.

Anyone that can make 7k USD from Nigeria may not really consider travelling out. He's already in top 1% of Nigerians with great salaries.

That's only a temporary strategy. The only way is to look at what can be produced here and create massive support around it to reduce its import.

go to your FIRS office where your TIN is domiciled, ask for TIN update form, fill it accurately and use the company email address, email notification will be sent to you immediately, then you can login to tax promax and do your VAT return in the comfort of your office, apply for TCC on tax promax and your application will be queried based on what you said earlier that there was no record of VAT return, secondly failure to submit an audited account for the Year ended 31st December 2022 after June 30th 2023 attract a penalty of #60,000 each month. For how to go about filing on tax promax and how to reduce your penalty and get your tax clearance within 2 weeks you can send me a PM and my firm will have one on one engagement with your boss for my terms and conditions of service

Penalty of 60,000 a month. This is serious.

I don't need to read your story before I come to a conclusion that you have a problem with yourself. You're not the first person coming from a damaged home, they're a lot of people out there and they are moving on.
Thank God your parents are not alive for you to make their lives miserable. You're only causing more damage to yourself, the earlier you forgive them and move on with your life the better for you.
Mistake has been made, why don't you help your future kids by correcting that. You think if they had they wouldn't have invested in their children's lives?
All fingers are not equal, not everyone has the knowledge on what next to do if the option they completely depended upon failed them. Forgive and move on

As good as your advice seem, it's too hard and harsh. Communicating empathy is very important even when you disagree with someone. You don't go hard on someone with trauma please

But you should be angry with your aunt, she's the one who forcefully took the two of you away from your mother for no reason and you don't know the reasons why your mother never bothered to visit you guys... What if your aunt threatened her?

And what do you mean your sister got pregnant as a result of frustrations? Are you saying your sister decided to add more frustrations into her life by getting pregnant just because she was frustrated with your parents?

A girl in JSS3 which this kind of experience will most likely get pregnant unless she has proper guidance from family. Unfortunately, that didn't happen.

She was merely looking for soft landing and in her little brain at the time, the guy seemed to be taking care of her and showing her the love her own parents didn't show. Automatically, she gravitates towards him and does whatever he tells her to do.

You see how the pattern flows?
