How did you come up with the figure quoted as your annual salary or your personal savings?
The ECO wants to see you're earning an income separate from your business funds. Showing them receipts of recent sales is good only tk buttress that you have a business but it also goes on to show that the funds you have are for your business. Nothing to show the funds are available for your personal use.
Your personal savings may also not be showing a fixed but stead inflow of an amount that can be described as your monthly salary.
Your budget for the trip must not be more than two months of your disposable income (money left after you've covered your monthly expenses from your paid fixed salary).
Sharing details of your application might help us all guide you better.
Atu6040: That was my refused letter , pls what cn i do? I did not summit payslip. I am a business owner . I showed all receipt of my recent sales (3months) . Don't mind these ones that are forming wokeness and trying to put people's live in danger. Area boys that normally harass water companies on marathon days na protest den nor go hijack?
Letter to the police is just letting them know who to arrest on that day and not necessarily to provide security support on that day.
They will be grappling with watching over the runners and dignitaries not protesters.
OgbanjeProphet: Peaceful protest in Lagos state Please do not be deceived. There can never be any peaceful protest, because agboro and other criminal minded elements will always use that opportunity to cause mayhem.
Tomorrow you all will see what's going to happen.
So my advice for those who crave long life is to avoid that protest tomorrow.
The ban on Okada in Lagos is for the good of Lagosians.
We thank God for His mercies .....buh we need the background stories to this, he must have attended some crusade before this naaaaa or are we missing something in the script?
akelicious: A Facebook user identified as bosindelive, shares the story of a man who has had a bullet lodged in his head for months without medical success but later vomited it.
Why not? You can invest your disposable income and use the statement for your application but you must take time to ensure that your source of disposable income cum invested funds must be clearly defined.
Don't go and submit bank statement for disposable income of say N150k per month and instead of having N900k invested, you have N2million in your invested funds, you would need to confirm the source of the balance N1.1million additional fund. This is where the issue lies.
cucumbar: Please, does it mean I can’t invest my funds, less disposable income for like 6 months because I want to apply for visa?
Legendarytonyy: This very neighbor of mine happens to be a driver (private driver), so he goes to the airport every morning to pick up passengers and take them to their location.
On this very day, an Army General he carried before called him to the airport for them to embark on a journey to see Governor Hope Uzodinma, so he went, they arrived Imo State govt house and the General met with the Governor, NB, the General was not putting on his uniform.
After the meeting with the governor, it was already late for them to return back to Enugu from Imo, so this neighbour of mine requested that they Lodge in a hotel, but the General insisted that they return back to Enugu by 10pm.
So they embarked on the journey back to Enugu. On their way, they encountered terrible highway Robbers, according to him killing was an easy job for this set of robbers.
He was behind a Lexus jeep when the robbers decided to attack the Lexus, immediately the man in the Lexus saw the robbers, he quickly activated fast and furious mode, he reversed and wanted to return back, but this robbers happened to be very impatient, they got his tyres flat and caught up with him, approach him and told him that the money he doesn't want to give them will be used for his burial, he was shot dead immediately.
When the other man lost his life, this neighbour of mine was also being Robbed. He was told to get down, so him and the General got down, they both got the beating of their lives, after that, they requested for their phones, my neighbor couldn't find his phone, his phone fell in between the 2 front seats he looked for it to no avail so the General tendered his phone, they called them their occupation, my neighbour said he is just a common driver, the General he was a businessman. So they went through the contract of the General and saw so many contacts saved with Chief so so so, Governor so so so, they ordered him to transfer one million and to call one of those Chief for money he obeyed and successfully transferred about 2mill to them.
Back to my neighbor, they asked him how much he bought the car the said it's hire purchase that it's originally 1.4mill but he will pay about 3mill after 2/3 years in installments. So they planned on stealing the vehicle, they asked him if there was a tracker he said no, they have their own means of knowing if a car has tracker, so confirmed that there was no tracker and made away with the vehicle.
But the General being a compassionate person promised him that he will get back the car at all cost, so immediately the General put up 1/2 calls and police on duty became extra alert and the car was recovered NB. The set of robbers that took my neighbors car were not with gun, the ones with gun were robbing others.
To God be the glory, the General informed my neighbor that his car is at Okigwe police station, he went and claimed it.
My neighbor warned seriously that we shouldn't save numbers with Chief, Alhaji, Olowo etc that it makes robbers demand for more.
1. Would you be comfortable your BIL comes to you each time he's hungry for you to dish out and serve him? I would suggest when you cook, dish out your husband's share and keep away. Dish your BIL own and leave for him in the pot a small potion for later and let him know you did plus he should 'help' you clean up after he's done ....I'm sure he will appreciate and gladly do it. You may from time to time give him small small gifts or cash gifts. He enjoys your cooking hence his craving for more You don't want a BIL that would criticize your cooking shaaa
2. Have you taken out time to sit your BIL down and discuss these things you don't like in a friendly manner with him? You can jocularly say 'see when you marry I go just come carry your wife pot of soup oo' or 'I go just eat drop plate anyhow for your house o' .....something to make fun of!
You need to resolve this in a very friendly and amicable way. Don't be seen as too harsh on your BIL else you incur the wrath of your in-Laws. Your BIL is obviously spoilt from home.
I agree with you on the not more than 2 weeks of stay ....infact during marriage counseling, you're advised against living in a very large apartment such that a visitor would be very comfortable to want to overstay.
Iwantpeace: I Need Advice About My Brother Inlaw Attitude
Hello good morning Nairalanders. I have been a guest and a member of this forum for quite some time now. I have equally seen and learnt from the inputs of many issues brought here especially family one. So I decided to create this new account.
I am a new married woman, my marriage is barely 3 months. Before we got married I and my husband agreed that visitors will not stay longer than 2 weeks in our home. Although he begged me that his immediate younger brother whom has been staying with him will stay for a while or comes to stay with us anytime he is on holidays.
I reluctantly agreed just for peace to reign. He shuttles between our home and my SIL homes for now. To cut the long story short, prior to when we got married that I go visit my then fiancé, anytime I cook this guy is fond of dipping his hands into my pot of soup or food without asking me and this is what I am not comfortable with and I really don't like it. I have sister in law too and I have sisters too anytime I go visiting I don't dip my hands into their pot of food without their consent I see it as something disrespectful.
Again, I couldn't talk then because I feel he may say 'ha dem never marry her she dun de get attitude', now he's continued the same attitude. Yesterday, I made food for the house, dished his own, he ate and slept off when he woke up late in the night he went to my pot again and spoilt my dishing spoon in the process. meanwhile I have not dished out my husband's meal.
Coincidentally, my husband came in from work at that moment and I was going to the kitchen to serve him his meal when I saw him doing what I don't like. When he saw me he said 'this spoon dun spoil '. I kept quiet. I later discussed with my husband, told him that I am not happy with the way his brother is entering my kitchen anyhow n because I am someone that don't like keeping things in my mind I like saying it out to free myself. When I told my husband he said we will talk in the morning.
This morning, the first thing this brother in law of mine was to go straight to the kitchen to look for something to eat. This is someone that will eat and keep the dishes, whenever he is around I don't stay in the living room anymore, my room and my phone is my companion because we stay in a one bedroom flat for now. He's giving me this attitude of it's my brother's house so I can do as I please, when he comes back he expects me to greet him first. I am not saying he cannot stay but my main issue is that he is tempering with my kitchen and trying to flex muscles with me.
Pls how do I handle this issue with my husband amicably because up till now he hasn't said anything and it's bothering me?
She doesn't know you are sterile, then I don't think there would be any motivation for her to cheat on you except you probably don't satisfy her sexual needs. Having said that how long have you guys been f@cking? Has she prior to now made known her intentions to get pregnant by you and it wasn't happening? It's also possible that you may have gotten the treatment working faster on you than expected. You need just one sperm to get one preggers.
Romangalactic: I'll try to keep my predicament short. I registered a new account for this purpose but I'm sure many of you will understand that sterility is not something to be announced which is exactly how I got myself in this situation. I am 35 and engaged to a beautiful woman who completes me in every way. As much as it hurts me to say this, I have not been totally honest with her about everything. Just yesterday while we were home together, she told me that she is pregnant . I asked her how sure she is, she said she had done the pee test and that she knows how she is feeling. The issue here is that I am sterile but I have not told her this before so it is impossible that I am responsible.
Please before anyone tells me I deserve this for not opening up to her, I have been undergoing treatment secretly and they say I will be able to father children when it's done so of course, I am hopeful and have not bothered to inform her about any of this. I can't stand losing her for any reason. My issue right now is that I asked my endocrinologist this morning if it's possible that the treatment is already working and he said we have not gone far enough to see any results yet. This means I am definitely not the father of the child she is carrying.
Only one other person in this world knows about my health challenge and that is my cousin. I told him and he told me to break up with my fiancée, someone I have already done introduction with and families are involved. I told him I cannot and that he must take the secret to the grave, he thinks I am making the biggest mistake of my life. Well I told him my plan is to accept the pregnancy and continue to make her think I don't know she cheated on me. I am doing this with the hope that after we get married, my treatment will be completed and everything will be back to normal. But at the same time, I still can't shake the feeling that I am about to marry someone who cheated and is passing off another man's child as mine, I feel cheated and it hurts.
Can anyone else please tell me what to do about this situation I have found myself? Please I just need to hear from other people besides my cousin. Another thing, he has never really liked my fiancée so I feel that also may be his motivation. I need neutral opinions please
Hahaha ......anoda angu but I think all of that would've been sorted out in the agreement to make it clear that by designing the logo, it does not confer on the designer the status of co-founder/owner or the company or shares/equity etc ...Lawyers are badt lai dat to let all of these slip
majamajic: Apart from all that , the designer's grandchildren can come up to tell your grandchildren how their grandpapa Co founded the company with your grandpapa
Exactly! This is where knowledge of six sigma comes in to bear .....re-use of products to cut costs. The current logo used by Innoson may have been mass produced to last many production cycles, changing the logo now would require that the old logo already designed and manufactured are discarded. This will cost the company lots of money.
Aside this, there may be imprints of the logo on the engine block or other parts of the vehicle etc, how do you erase them off and use the new logo? I clearly understand the Chairman's thoughts on this.
Monmarri: G.day house. Please can someone who is a UK citizen migrate to Canada without going through the normal process. What are the various ways by which a British citizen can migrate legally to Canada. I will appreciate responses please. Many thanks
You can't save just two months disposable income and immediately go apply because of the you believe it would cover the projected expense of N500K. You need to save 6 months and submit as part of your application bank statement covering 6 months. The reason for this is to convince the ECO that you have a steady job & income. The N300k from self employment ....is this your profit or turnover from sales? Note also that once you state N50 as your living cost, don't make the mistake of adding your wife and kids or parents as your dependents oooo #JustSaying
Nikimanni7: Hello House, Please i have a consistent income of 300k per month and my total planned expense for my Uk trip is 600k. So can I put 50k as my expense monthly so my disposable income will be 250k per month, so that after two months of saving it will almost cover my trip expense figure which is 500k. Again my question is, can I put 50k as expense whereas I’m gaining 300k as self employed.
And also I’m sponsoring myself through my personal bank statement, would that be proof enough cause since I’m self employed do you think it’s necessary I submit my company bank statement and if so how much should at least be in it ?
abiolap89: My brother sent me a parcel from abroad using FedEx freight shipment in the parcel he stashed $4800 in it when the parcel arrived at Nigeria at there headquarters in abuja I was asked to pay custom fee which was N17750 and home delivery N15750 after that I was mailed that after unboxing and reboxing for clearance money was found and it placed on ban and I can't go to abuja to claim it because am in Lagos please what should I do. Who are the neccesary agency I can talk to. Nairalander please help me out.
The prospect of you winning the appeal is very slim (assuming you were given the option to) and my reasons (personal opinion) below
1. Your budget of £1100 is too high 2. None of the bank accounts you showed had enough funds to cover this save for the joint account with your sister which you did not provide proof of having the funds available solely for your use 3. Paying yourself N120k monthly and your disposable income per month is N280k does not add up here. Where's the balance of N160K coming from? Note that your disposable income is what is left of your main salary after all expenses has been met.
Advice to you is re-apply in 6 months time and during that time, get your financials sorted out.
1. Why present a treasury bill maturing at the expiration of your expected 6 month's visa? ECO wants to see enough money available for your trip and after it not just what you have untouchable.
2. You said you earn N4.8million as self employed, do you pay yourself a fixed monthly amount that can be matched up to that total by viewing your bank statement?
3. Your joint account balance with your sister without a letter from her ceding the amount therein for your vacation shows that you don't have 100% access to the funds therein for your sole use.
4. Moving funds from your business account to your mutual fund account does not show the funds is available for your personal use. Don't mix up your business account/funds with private funds. Rather you should pay yourself a fixed amount monthly from your business profit and move it to your mutual funds account then present your personal account showing inflow of fixed 'salary' and outflow to your mutual funds.
5. Did you take into consideration your budget for the trip? Your disposable income monthly should be able to fund your trip not more than two months of its total value.
I hope this helps.
ighodarovictor: Gurus in the house, please help me to review the refusal letter below because I believed the Eco didn't do his /her job carefully.. I have a treasury bill that worh more than £30,000 that will matured even after expiration of the 6months visa with evidence attach and majority of the money I received is sent to my mutual fund account with evidence of the mutual fund account statement. I submitted four banks statement (1) my personal bank statement with closing balance of #139,000 (2) my joint account with my sister that has been in existence since past 6years with closing balance #580,000 and fixed deposit of #600,000 (3) my business account with a closing balance of #350,000 with regular inflow of cash and regular out flow to my mutual fund account or for running of business (4) my savings account which I intend to use for the trip with a closing balance of #750,000 ,(5) my mutual fund account with a closing balance of #2,000,000. To be honest I feel I was robe of my visa fee. Please house I need your kind suggestion.
Jimi Agbaje, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday said the outright ban on okada and tricycles in some parts of Lagos state is not the solution to accidents and insecurity which is the primary concern of the state government.
Speaking in a chat with Daily Independent, Agbaje who was the Lagos state governorship candidate of the PDP in the 2015 and 2019 general elections said the ban which took effect from February 1 has kept thousands of okada and tricycle riders out jobs .
He said this will have a ripple effect on the economy as those associated with them such as the vulcanizers, spare parts sellers, food sellers and others will also be negatively affected.
While noting the hardships being experienced by some Lagosians as a result of the ban, Agbaje advised Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to regulate the activities of the operators instead of the outright ban, adding that jobless okada and tricycle riders may resort to crimes which will not augur well for the security of the state.
“For me, I note the concerns of the Lagos State Government on security and accidents. But having said that, I am not sure the solution to these problems is the outright ban on the routes they have listed. When you look at the effect of the ban, you are putting thousands of people out of jobs”.
“There is also a ripple effect of the ban because the vulcanizers who mend the tyres of these tricycles and okada will have no jobs to do. Also, the food seller who sells to these okada riders will also close business as they can no longer patronize her”.
“So, it has a ripple effect and to that extent, it affects the economy. It brings about its own security issues. A jobless tricycle or okada rider can be dangerous”.
“I think what we need to do is to regulate them. Regulating them is to bring about the formal operators. You have people that have put together a set up, all you need do is to regulate them”.
Sad but why would anyone want to use motorbikes or keke as a means of transportation? In London or New York or Dubai where all these people visit regularly do they use motorbikes or keke as their means of transportation?
Ooh ok. Well several factors may be involved here. In India, they observe several holidays which might be one of the reasons. Another is means of dispatch of applications for review by the ministry in India ....they might be using courier and have a threshold limit applications must reach before they are dispatched.
Yes I have applied for a business visa once through their high commission in Abuja and tourist visa through their HC in Lagos once. Both were issued but there were delays though and it took up to two months for each.
I know for sure that even for tourist visas, they have a period in a year when its very difficult and unpredictable for them to issue it but its always quicker than the business visa. Infact that was the reason for my applying for the tourist visa.
If you have a British passport, I think its visa-free.
ijebubabe: My sponsor both here in the UK and India is one of the world's largest companies (head office is in UK, subsidiary is in India) and all it takes is a phone call or email to confirm the invitation letters. Does it take 2 months to reach out to them? I don't think so.
Yes, my passport is with their UK high Commission.
Have you applied for an Indian business Visa before ?
Would still be good if you share here the documents submitted, your disposable income, your budget etc used for the rejected submissions so you can be advised appropriately.
Enyimbamercedes: At the time of the 4 applications her sister had not moved to the UK. We pretty much submitted all documents but she wasn’t also working at the time. She is working now and earning 199,760k. I also give her a monthly allowance of 100k. She hasn’t put in an application since she started work cos I don’t want any more rejections.
