I'm not partisan and yes I've watched the video no one kicked him in the face. When he fell he went all 4 on the ground and someone jokingly made as if he was going to kick him in the face but did not before same people helped him to his feet. If they were meant to attack him, the story would have been different but it's not what people are being made to believe.

Sorry but you won't understand these things. Mobil as an American company may have their risk tolerance level different from other companies. Do you know that if those two routes someone mentioned previously are locked down in the event of a terror attack there would be no escape route? The jetty and stretch of boats you're talking about are they just across the road or some distance away? The Mobil HQ doesn't even have an helipad located there. There may be one on the Intercontinental hotel building ....these are things they consider.

I'm not trying to project evil or anything but if the Lekki-Epe expressway is under attack, how do people escape? Just think about it.

CeterisXVII:
Risky, how? There is a jetty right across the road, behind their residential quarters. And there are different boats along that stretch that can be used for evacuation. Addax head office is also a stone throw from Mobil's HQ. In fact, there is a jetty right on Addax's doorstep.

In terms of evacuation, by road or by water, the location of the current head office, beats the proposed location where Intercontinental is currently situated.
Business › Re: Mobil Acquires Lagos Continental Hotel From AMCON by bigtt76(f): 9:12am On Dec 24, 2019
YEa but the current traffic situation on that axis is not good and might be risky for prompt evacuation of victims during an attack

CeterisXVII:
Hmmn ....they have been on that road for over 20 years. And there are two ways of connecting to that road or their head office.

They may convert it to residential or offices .....they must have ran a risk analysis to see that it was risky for them located on the Lekki-Epe Axis due to the single road leading to and fro

The popular Lagos Continental Hotel has been acquired by an oil company, 11 Plc, formerly known as Mobil Oil Nigeria Plc, the energy firm has confirmed.

The hospitality company was acquired from the Asset Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON) after top executives of the two organisations held several intense talks.

Mobil, in a notice to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), said it plans to partner with a major international brand to provide world class service synonymous with all its operations.

According to the disclosure, the new asset will require significant investment to raise standard from the current state to the levels consistent with similar facilities in major cities around the world.

Mobil said it currently owns several prime properties in its real estate portfolio fully rented to blue chip tenants, saying the acquisition of Lagos Continental Hotel was consistent with its desire to delivery “our interests given the current challenging environment in the downstream sector of the petroleum industry.”

It stated that, “Fuel margins in the industry have remained stagnant for several years in the highly competitive and regulated industry. We anticipate that this asset will contribute positively to earnings and underlines the faith of its stakeholders in the future of the Nigerian economy.”

Concluding, the energy company assured its “numerous stakeholders that we remain committed to delivering outstanding value and robust returns in the years ahead.

“However, in the short term, cashflow and EBITDA could be under strain as a result of funds needs to renovate and upgrade the hotel to attract a 5-star branding. We also like to assure the employees of the hotel that they will be treated with the utmost dignity and respect during the transition and seek their cooperation to make the take over a smooth one.”

Business Post reports that shares of Mobil closed flat today at the exchange at N147.90 per unit.

He did not meet his KPI target ...short and simple! Yes he identified areas which could help improve tax collection and shore up the revenue of the country, but these things are not a one term thing. All the gains made by FIRS did not even begin with this or past regime and will not be fully achieved until after 2023. The journey is still mid-way.

Government need to make tax payment a sport in this country and not stressful. Imagine to get your TIN or VAT number ...you have to bribe heaven and earth to achieve that .....number that you would use to pay Government ooooo! Getting your certificate nko ...is another wahala. Why won't people dodge paying because they find it difficult to do so. If I'm owing you and you're making it difficult for me to pay, won't I relax?

Another thing that needs to be done is enlightenment ....tax is not government punishing the rich or trying to reap where they did not sow rather it is the rent or contribution to living in Nigeria. Above all of these is the need for government to cut spending.

We can't be spending tax payers money to foot frivolous needs of selfish senators and reps. Look at person like Ned Nwoko ...if not for the elections tribunal that kicked him out, all he was doing in the senate was making money to go and be f@cking small small girls cheesy ....same thing with Dino. I can't count any Senator or Rep that have come up with any bill of worth to the benefit of the common man.

Look at DSS on behalf of the government arresting wereys upandan spending our tax monies feeding them 3 square meals a day and housing them in air conditioned apartments all at our expense. Who pays the electricity bills - tax payers ....who pays for their upkeep? tax payers ....stop arresting those madt people allow dem to protest or fix what they're protesting against so that people will see and enjoy the benefits of paying tax.

AlexReports:
Ned Nwoko Declares State Of Emergency On Malaria, Insist Fumigating Nigeria Is Priority

Prince Ned Nwoko Foundation has commenced an undaunted and audacious journey towards engaging one of the most resolute solution-oriented war against the age-long malaria endemic in Nigeria and Africa, as it flags-off the "Malaria Eradication Program in Abuja, Nigeria. The project was flagged off at a world press conference yesterday ahead of the symbolic expedition to the Antarctica by Prince Ned Nwoko and wife Regina Nwoko in January 2020, recommended by White Desert Africa as the most Popular couple in Nigeria.

Speaking during the world press conference in Abuja, the Chairman and founder of the Foundation, Prince Ned Munir Nwoko noted that the malaria parasite is a killer and an avoidable illness which can be eradicated through indepth researches and development of anti malaria vaccines to completely put an end to the scourge as this could have saved many including an Egyptian Airline Resident manager in Abuja who died recently. He expressed worries over inadequate vaccines and why governments and Africa institutions have ignored the deaths and impediments caused by malaria to the general wellbeing and development of Africans and their societies.

The International lawyer, however stated that the Malaria Eradication Project is committed to eradicate most of the health challenges suffered by Africans and Nigerians especially the direct and indirect physical and mental impairments traced to malaria, as well as resolving the huge economic loss expended on the parasitic disease which could have been used to support the general growth and development of the society.

In his speech, Nwoko also stressed on the need for a collective approach towards the anti malaria fight. He noted that his foundation will be extensively involved in both long and short term enhancement plans through Academic research grants for malaria vaccines in 5universities across Africa, namely Nigeria, DRCongo, Uganda, Mozambique and Cote d'Ivoire. He stated emphatically that $150,000 will be made available for scientific scholars to discover the the anti malaria vaccine.

The billionaire Philanthropist described the situation as one which Nigeria can manage and resolve independently. He noted that through concerted, concurrent and organized efforts and strategies, there could be general fumigation across homes and environments in Nigeria which is a responsibility that everyone must take up. He buttressed that available funding will also be provided to support the nationwide exercise.

He also stated that sufficient awareness on mass mobilization will be engaged as every institution, public and private agencies, individuals and leaders must realize their roles in achieving fruition for the project. Stressing that the target is to make Nigeria a malaria free zone in the next 5years.

In a reaction from Hon. Udeh, a medical Practitioner, former Anambra Deputy Governor and former member of the green chambers, he established that the Malaria Eradication Project and the Antarctica expedition will further enhance the process of realizing a Malaria free zone in Nigeria and across Africa.

Prince Ned Nwoko Foundation has over the years continued to support initiatives and projects cutting across empowerment, education, health, environment and tourism. The foundation will be partnering with United Nation agencies like UNESCO, WHO and UNICEF as well as National Orientation Agency, Ecological Fund, Federal Ministry of Education and Health of African countries to ensure the successful execution of the project through fumigation, grants for research and studies for direct implementation plans as a panacea against the spread of Mosquitoes in Nigeria and Africa.

MoIbrahim:
Honestly *the person who wrote this piece “Injustice to one is injustice to all” is completely ignorant of the process of admission in Ahmadu Bello University Zaria,*

For those of us that wrote Jamb 3 times passed all and failed to secure admission whom also are from the catchment area of the University felt the same way but later got to understand the process & how it works!

There are some unique facts about ABU that we must appreciate which includes among so many others; ABU is the most cosmopolitan University in the whole of Africa not even Nigeria it’s no news that ABU Zr has students from each and every of the 774 local governments in which makes it a mini .

When it comes to teaching staff, ABU is the only record holder of having atleast 1 senior staff from each and every of the 36 states in Nigeria and it has remained so till date. So in essence not even the University of Abuja that is in the heart of Nigeria can boast of having students from all the 774 local governments or a staff from each of the 36 states in the Country. Then we should be proud of ABU Zr.

I can personally attest to the fact that in each and every Departmental admission guideline clearly spells out three criteria’s and is religiously adhered to which includes: 1. Merrit list 45% of the total students admitted to the dept (Atleast 2 to 3 students with the highest score from each state). 2. Catchment area list 35% (like any other university in Nigeria ABU considers students from its selected States as it catchment area). & 3. Less Educationally developed states list 20% (in other to give candidates in some selected states that are not as educationally developed as the others a chance to be in ABU as they are at a disadvantage and cannot stand their colleagues from the opposite side) which makes 100% for each department and in doing this no state is left out. Please tell me which other University in Nigeria can say same of their institution? I’ll tell U the answer for free “NONE”.

As regards the case of one *Goodness Thomas, she would have made it for the MBBS Merit list from her state but unfortunately she was number 7 on the list in terms of jamb score from Niger state* and only the first two were picked as it is in d case with all other 36 states and the FCT, she also wouldn’t have made it for the 2nd & 3rd criteria for admission as the number from the Medical and Dental Board limits ABU MBBS to only 120students per session so please do the maths how would U have admitted Goodness into MBBS and justify it even if U are on the admissions committee?

It is also important that I call the attention of the writer of this mischievous piece, that Goodness Thomas was quick to change her 1st choice to ‘Anatomy’ from MBBS seeing she didn’t make the 1st list and she was admitted in the 2nd list of admission which she accepted gladly and quickly, so why are people been mischievous and sharing very wrong information on social media?

I have seen the list of about 25 candidates this year alone from Kwara, Benue and Kogi states who scored above 300 and didn’t make the list for MBBS but unfortunately their representatives don’t have social media handles to speak out on their behalf.

This year alone ABU received more than 40,000 qualified candidates which is the largest number of applicants for any university in Nigeria and Jamb gave ABU the clearance to take in 11,000 candidates which is also the highest number any university is taking in this year, so who will speak for the over 29,000 qualified candidates? Even ASUU is crying that accademic staff are over stretched due to the number of lecturer to student at the moment.

As it stands, ABU is among the 1st generation of universities in Nigeria and there has been plans from the management under the leadership of Prof. Ibrahim Garba with support from the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC) and the Ministry of Education for ABU Zr to Migrate into a fully pledged Post-Graduate University and that can only happen if the number of undergraduates intake is cut by more than half the number its currently taking in.

So please let’s call all mischief makers to order and if anyone has any issue on admission of a candidate to write to the University rather than embarking on campaign of calmuny on social media to dent the reputation of a University we all hold Dear.

Nice one. They should go ahead and confirm EFCC boss naaa idiits cheesy

Kwanza:
The Senate Wednesday confirmed the appointment of Board chairmen and members of the Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS) and the Assets Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON).

Also, the Senate approved the budget of N11,594,920,847 for the National Communication Commission on the Universal Service Provisions Fund and N140.3 billion for the 2020 National Communication Commission.

The confirmation of the chairman and Board members of FIRS was sequel to the motion moved by the chairman of Senate committee on Finance, Solomon Adeolu Olamilekan who urged the Senate to receive and consider the report of the Senate committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial institutions.

The Senate approved Mohammad Mammam Nami as FIRS chairman with others as Board members.

Also, the Senate approved and confirmed Edward Lametek Adamu as the chairman of the Board of AMCON.

The motion for the confirmation was moved by Senator Sani Uba.

Meanwhile, Senate has endorsed the services of Ocean Marine Solutions limited (OSML) as a genuine and reliable private maritime logistics support company on the nation’s port, securing the safety of ships waiting to berth at the ports.

Senate endorsement of OSML operation followed adoption of all four recommendations by the joint Adhoc Senate committees on Marine Transport and Finance to investigate alleged fraud in the operation of OMSL on the nation water ways.

The committee recommended among others “that Ocean Marine solutions limited OMSL should be commended for its genuine national interest for investing over $400m in the security and secured Anchorage Area in particular, that the Nigerian water ways in general by providing the needed platforms and logistics for theNigerian Navy to effectively perform 2/47/365 patrol operations as well as to provide the required protection for vesels waiting to berth at the nation’s Port

“That since no fraud is found in the operations of the OMSL and its operates at no cost to the government, OMSL should be allowed to continue it’s operations at the Safe Anchorage until such a time when a better and more cost effective system is put in place by the government.

“That the Nigerian Navy should be properly funded to enable it provide needed vessels to enable its 150 vessels-deficit to enable them carry out their constitutional responsibilities without over depending on private maritime logistics support companies (PMSC).

President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, said Nigeria had no option but to stick to the deal that would continue to provide safety for ships berthing on Nigerians shores thereby guaranteeing the nation’s aspiration to sustained increased revenue.

According to Lawan: “I think we have a challenge here, which is, that, if we do not like what this company is doing we should bring our own. Until we are able to do that, I think we have to continue with the present arrangement.”

I stopped listening to his songs when the badoo killings started and he didn't come out to condemn it. I'm sure a lot of people did because of same too.

Oshoboy01:
Looking at the recent trend of things in the music industry, it looks like Olamide Adedeji popularly called Olamide Badoo is no more bad again as an artiste. Most especially in 2019 that is about to come to an end, it feels like his career is going to end with the year.

Olamide Badoo is an amazing artiste no doubt, he has done so well for himself as an artiste, as a businessman in music, has helped several people but it looks all that is about to become a history judging by the recent happenings, maybe it’s just that his season as an a-list artiste has ended.

Olamide came into the industry with a track titled ‘Eni Duro’, this track shook the music industry and he almost immediately rose to become one of the most sought after musician in Nigeria. He immediately continued with ‘Omo To Shan’ featuring Wizkid, both were everyone’s favourite at this time and this contributed to the success of the song. Olamide later got the name Young Erikina, he released songs and he became a household name in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

Olamide, since then , has released hit songs back to back, has done several shows which were sold out, raised the likes of Lil Kesh, Adekunle Gold, Chinko Ekun, YBNL Princess, Lyta, Picazzo Rap, Yomi Blaze, Fireboy DML to mention a few, even after having so many artistes to look after, Olamide still got time to release hit songs.

However, 2019 has not been a good year for the artiste, although traces of this were seen in 2018 but they weren’t so obvious as 2019. Olamide used to compete with the likes of Davido, Wizkid, other top artistes but now, an artiste that just came up yesterday is being talked about and listened to than Olamide Badoo.

In 2019, One can count the amount of songs Olamide released, unlike past years when Olamide released Albums almost every years, he didn’t release any this year, he only released singles that almost didn’t pass the roof of the studio where they were recorded.

It’s not enough to do music, one need to have a concrete plan to enable him or her enjoy longevity in the music industry because so many artiste come up every day and there is need for one to be strategic to ensure relevance for a long time.

Olamide has enjoyed fame on merit ever since but has done little to enjoy longevity. As much as people wants to dance, people get tired sometimes and wants to listen to something that has great meaning. Taking a look at 2face, Banky W, these people can’t release a song today without people getting to know it, they are legends already, their sound is unique and they have a very good line of lyrics but Olamide released some tracks which include Woske and Pawon this year and it was just short of expectation for some people.

The vulgar languages, even on his instagram page, some people had to unfollow him due to the content he was posting to promote the songs, he began posting ladies dancing naked, shaking their butt and his page was almost looking like a porn site. People believe things like this should occur with an upcoming artiste who is looking for attention not someone who has gotten the attention already.

Olamide didn’t win any notable award this year, he didn’t make any notable achievement this year and next year isn’t looking like a glorious one for him, looking at this, Olamide might never recover from the death of his career, however, I wish him well.

He's saying that, the fact that the funds are not proceeds of illegality, it still did not absolve the chairman of wrong doing. The funds were channeled from an NGO account which is wrong. NGOs thrive on donations and charity the proceeds are not supposed to be channeled into a business venture. It's a very serious crime to misappropriate funds meant for charity because that's a subtle way to evade paying tax.

You should never hit a woman no matter how much she ran her mouth and on top of that a woman with your baby ....haba naaaaau! Its not as if going out with your friends is an issue but did you tell her you will be coming back late? Maybe she was worried about your absence. Don't forget also, she's young and need to socialize like her mates currently do ....ask yourself when was the last time she went out to flex with her friends or with you?

Since this was the first time you slapped her, it showed that you probably must have been under the influence of alcohol undecided Which is why she ran in and locked the door. You may think your 7 months old girl will not notice anything but you're wrong ....kids learn quite early and violence in their life at such a tender age is totally uncalled for.

Note also that we ladies from the age of 23-30 years ...our head de hot and we like to flex so don't try to tie us down while you're out there flexing with your friends without us in the tow.

My suggestion to you and others alike .....take over the job of babysitting for a whole day and allow her to go flex, trust me, she will love you like die. You can also get a trusted family friend or neighbour to help babysit for a day while you and your wife go flexing.

Also, go and buy the best ankara + wine + bag of rice + oil and take to your mother in-law in apology to what happened. For your wife, buy her best item and take along there to apologize. For the brother, you might wish to buy him a lovely gadget. All the best

Ekene161829:
I did something I really regret. My wife and I have an amazing marriage, 2 years of marriage and we are blessed with a 7-month-old baby girl.

She is 28 and I almost 33. Last Saturday I got invited to go out by some of my work friends , I got home late 2am, so madam wasn't happy. She was yelling at me, throwing hands and screaming at me. I ignored her and left the room to the living room but she followed me and I asked her to leave me alone but she kept going which made me angry.

I took the back of my hand and gave her a slap on the mouth. She cried out and held her face and started crying and her lips was bleeding. I didn't intentionally hurt her, I just wanted to calm her down since ignoring her was not working. I said sorry, and I was literally on my knees begging her. I tried to hold her but she refused.
The rest of the night was me repeating apology or i didn't mean to hurt you. She ignored me . She went into our room and locked the door.

She was in there for a long time and the next morning, her mother and older brother was at the house and she came out of the room with her and our baby stuff and she said she was leaving me for good. I told her how sorry I was but her mother told me to get out of their faces and they left the house.

I feel so ashamed and I've never done anything like this before and I never thought I would. I don't want to loose my wife and baby. I need both of them back. Should I attempt to contact her?
