God speaks to us but we hardly listen. God also works in mysterious ways... His ways are not ours and His thoughts for us are different.

What if God made a leeway for her to escape by causing the BH people to give the option to denounce her religion for her safety? Peter (Jesus Christ's right hand man) denied Jesus 3 times to protect himself and hence help build the church.

Sad on the CAN president and student's murder..
May their souls rest in peace amen.

peeps4u:
But why can't all powerful God safe her without Leah needing to deny God? Isn't something wrong that God couldn't safe her despite standing for God? Leah trusted God, but God failed her (I had to say this). Leah is not to be blamed. We are all taught to trust in God and never deny him like Daniel and those three Hebrews never denied His desoite being thrown in the Lion den and lake of fire respectively.

I am a practising Christian but this religion is looking like a scam truly.

Just days ago, CAN chairman and UNIMAID student were also murdered by BH for their faith

I'm not trying to defame you or dim your lights ....absolutely no reason for me to do that. Nairaland doesn't pay my bills for me to say my responses must always be correct or I'm regarded as a guru or no it all person ....no but rather for the benefit of all.

Your earlier response using some words or phrases such as embolden below ...points in a direction of one who could fight tooth and nail just to be see as being correct or know it all. I've been on this thread for years and I've not seen Justwise or any other respond in such manner ....but its okay and all for good. kiss ....pls lets not derail this good thread by running back and forth responses. I salute you! kiss

Big big talk. For UK visa you do! Show your genuine funds and its origin. You need to show that. pls nobody should go there with zero account balance and say he doesn’t need to have funds in his account or that he has only mutual funds certificate to present..

The only reason I am responding is because you just tried to defame my character, you did it subtly but noticeable enough to be picked. Next, I celebrate you for being able to have a constructive discourse. Congratulations.
I do not do arguments. Sorry. Also, if you probably missed it somehow, there’s no need to egg onto ego and try to dim my lights. Sorry I’ll not play into your hands.
I brought my points to the table and don’t need any sort of approval from anyone... certainly not from you. Good evening.

Mutual funds are redeemable within minutes or hours of putting in a request and fund managers now send letters to the embassies stating same so why can't it be available for travel?

The reason why most ECOs refuse it is because the applicant probably does not have satisfactory source of income with which s/he invested in mutual funds. For example, if an applicant is not one that gets a steady income and all of a sudden there's a large deposit in his or her account and end up using that to invest in mutual funds within days or a month before before interview ....the ECO will treat it as suspicious inflow.

On the other hand, if I'm a worker receiving steady income and I invest part of it on a regular basis before going for the interview, I see no reason why I should be denied. If treasury bill certificates in applicants name is not rejected, I don't think Mutual Funds will be any exception.

If I state clearly in my cover letter that due to the volatility of the banking sector and the need to see my funds yield good investments to foot my bills for a vacation rather than let it lie idle in the bank account, I don't think I would be turned back. You don't just present documents and bank statements to ECO and expect him or her to see the same picture as you are. You need to explain and build a tangible business case for them to be in sync with you.

Also, you don't need to have funds in your bank account before being granted a visa. Many with millions in their bank account had been refused and had published same here times without number. All the ECO want to see is that applicant has a steady job or business to return to after holiday as a proof of strong ties and that s/he has enough funds to foot the bills for the holiday and not having to resort to public funds.

giselle237:
U can’t quote the money in the mutual funds certificate as the money you intend to use for the travel. Haba oga! denials here cause of this. ECO visibly said in the refusal letters, that they are not sure the money will be accessible despite the applicants presenting letters to say the funds can be released in even less than 48 hours if need be.. ECO still said No, that they not sure of financial status and denied the visa. They said tht the funds are not palpable.
If you have separate savings for the travel, yes you can then use the certificate as proof of asset/home ties. You can’t appear for tourist visa at the embassy with no money in your bank account and present mutual funds certificate as the money you intend using to travel..
pls show us someone that used only funds certificate and got tourist visa, asin no bank account with money. .. this is what I’m interested in
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by bigtt76(f): 3:02am On Jan 24, 2020
Are you a worker or business person? First the ECO wants to see that you're earning an income (not revenue from sales of goods & services), your disposable income and of course your budget.

Yes you can use the mutual funds statements, infact most of the operators can send letters on your behalf to the embassies to prove you own the funds and are available to you for your trip, but you still need to prove ties to your home country and source of income etc

Hope this helps

What I Found In A Fairly Used Car I Bought, Please Let's All Be Careful.

What I am about to share here is 100% true. You never can trust how discreet this pages are, so I had to create a new moniker lol...

I had already concluded plans to get a fairly used Nigerian Lexus. I got a seemingly good deal on jiji so last Friday I traveled to obiaruku to seal the deal.

Everything had gone on as planned, very great guy, I paid, he handed over all relevant documents and I headed straight to bact to Asaba.

At about 7pm, I was doing a final check on the documents so I sent my wife to the car, this lady returned back with a big black envelope directly behind the driver's seat. When we opened it, it was filled with Indian hemp. I mean close to 500grammes, I was in utter shock. I quickly called the seller and cautioned him seriously.

I had gone through over 15 police check posts, how on earth would I have explained that the stuff wasn't mine.

Please folks, we've got to be very careful. Very very careful. May God not allow us to answer questions about someone else's indiscretion.

I have decided not to share the pics here, for personal reasons.

I ask this because the ECOs are particular about businessmen and women posting their sales revenue as their income. It would be good though if you can show the entire sales revenue and try to separate the profit from it so you can evidently show that you are not using your sales capital for vacation travels. This is why you were advised to pay your self monthly from your company's account to show you earn something substantial. All the best.

Awon werey... Shei na 18 hrs of electricity we elect dem to give us ni? Wan ti ya werey shaaaa

Citizenshelm:
The Minister of Power, Engr. Sale Mamman has assured Nigerians of 18-hour electricity supply daily once the country hits 7,000 megawatts power generation and distribution.

Mamman stated that the country would hit 7,000MW power generation target by the end of 2020.

However, he explained that sufficient electricity for everyone could be elusive until the nation hits 11,000MW power distribution.

“On the part of government, we are trying to improve through the expansion and I said by the end of the year, we will get 7,000 megawatts.

“By the time we get that, we may get 18-hour power supply daily and by the time it is 11,000 megawatts, everybody will have sufficient power,” Daily Trust quoted Mamman as saying recently.

Weighing in on the proposed hike in electricity tariffs, the power minister said that it was in honouring agreements entered into between the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and the distribution companies during privatisation.

“It’s no longer in the hands of government because 60 per cent is in the hands of the private sector but we regulate the sector.

We just have to ensure it is standardised like other countries. We are inviting investors to come but if we don’t do that (get real tariff), they will not come but I believe we cannot go out of the standard,” the minister said.
