Who told you this? Don't write yourself off. First thing you should do is take a breather and don't stress yourself too much, do a gap analysis of your skills. What you have now and what's required out there. Up-skill yourself and your wife, Start applying to jobs in the UK which practise a similar accounting system like Nigeria. With 15 years working in a private sector, you obviously have transferable skills needed outside Nigeria especially financial reporting and auditing skills. Throw in a bit of data and business analytics you might be up to something. All the best.

At OP,

I foresaw your predicament in my case 2 years ago. I am currently 48 and my wife is 39. 2 years ago I made a life changing decision.

I sent my wife to Australia on a student visa utilizing all my life's savings. Today, she has stabilized a little. Though she is still a student as she had to change her course of study from accounting to social work.

Currently, her employers are planning to sponsor her nomination for PR. All the necessary documentations have been completed.
She is doing pretty well and has progressed in her pursuit of CPA certification.

She has advised me to commence study for CPA immediately and that is what i am currently doing.

Hopefully, before the end of this year, I will be on my way to Aussie with my 2 children.

Very good advice

Validated:
At 45 years old you could still land a great job in Canada, but before leaving, endeavor to upscale your professional profile. Pursue ACCA, ACMA/CGMA or CFA. Look up on CISA and CISM, but the knowing doing gap may be a problem. Ensure you are mid-way into these programs before leaving, so you can close them in Canada.

Apply to take an accounting course in Pacific Canada area in University or college, then move over to Ontario as soon as you get CPA.

As for your children, DO NOT BE DESPAIR!!! You may think they will be wayward in Canada, but hell NO! Infact, your children are more vulnerable in Nigeria than Canada. Trust me, I will not tell you what I do not know.

I agree but for how long would they keep winning with this squad that played poorly? Aussies flunked a lot of their chances else Nigeria would've been many goals down. We need to work harder against Ireland to avoid surprises.

Well, better teams don't qualify, the winning teams do. In this case, Nigeria is the winning team.

I think it's very good to understand the hypocrisy of UK in cases of first to report. And the demonic teen friends that lied against their friends that in order to further indulge in their life spoiling practices like watching pôrn and not studying well.
If only the father had contained his anger and make a video evidence of those crooks. Then reporting his child formerly to the govt that how do you want me to handle this boy cos I don't want to beat him to the point your govt ll say I beat him with anger.
UK is a theoretical place where you can pretend like you swallow all their bullshits but hypocritically go behind the scene to scheme things to your taste.
Chai, my Nigeria. That father ll trash both the son and friends together. In fact if it's one woman I know, she ll craftly lure those kids, lock herself and those kids up in a store, apply fresh pepper in their eyes, buttocks, armpits, ear and nose, carry 3 brand new koboko and flog the hell out of those kids. That store ll be a mess! They ll see them the next day and ask if they were caught stealing at the market.
UK dey fall my hands when they don't farabale hand civil cases. It's not all first to report that are innocent. They v used this to give wrong judgements especially on issues of husband and wife's issues where wife ll be the first to rush and lie against her husband cos they know the law there is sympathetic to women.
In all, may we not be unlucky in this life, amen.

Lamba. Lambadowsky from a fake female. Your story is fallacious. We know sending stubborn abroad kids to Nigeria resets their brain. But as you can see, this story fit no work that way cos he's already taken away from his dad. In all, you cooked up your write up to gather share and likes for your coconut 🥥 head ego.
Wail, I ll drink you tears cos I just want tackle you today. I get your time. Don't call me agbaya, I just want to drink the tears of this shim (he/she)!

Lamba united, twin brother of Jennyclay. The both of you aren't practical in your lies. Not all kids eventually visit Nigeria. So how do you effect the correction. The best option to correct kids in UK is to gather enough evidence against the kid which ll make the govt to not believe the child when you actually do mild scolding. You outsmart their system. The scolding you ll do must be very minimal.

So how I wish I should start my life with my own fresh lineage from my wife and children. Like I don't want to be part of the father tree again.

I gave birth 3days ago and I don't want my son to bear my surname 🤔 I want my own name to be his surname so my father lineage will be cut off
☹️

Please is there any future implications in this decision?
Or rather something bad behind this decision??

Thanks 😌

Did you see anywhere the constitution stated that a governorship candidate must score 25% in 2/3 of the LGA of the state and the capital territory?
Politics / Re: PEPT: Why Did Wole Olanipekun Ignore Osun Ruling To Quote Shagari Ruling Of 1979 by bigtt76(f): 5:34am On Jul 17, 2023
Ooh great thanks for the clarification.

discusant:

No. But because the president also acts as governor of Abuja, that's why the Constitution made it mandatory for a president to score 25% of votes in Abuja capital territory before declared winner of a presidential election.
A presidential candidate can win all the 36 states, but if he fails to win 25% of votes in Abuja capital territory, he cannot be declared winner of a presidential election.
The constitution is not ambiguous on that.

Reading through the written address of Tinubu and Shettima lawyers at the ongoing election petition tribunal led by supposed respected senior lawyer Wole Olanipekun, one can’t help but giggle at the hollowness and shallowness of their defense.

In the address, Mr Olanipekun was busy citing the case of Shagari vs Awolowo that happened as far back as 1979 under the 1979 Constitution and in election conducted by FEDECO, as our electoral commission was called then.

Since 1979, we’ve have had many reformations to our electoral laws and have even changed our constitution.

If anything, the most relevant case as far as election cases are concerned in Nigeria today, is the Supreme Court ruling in Osun in case of Oyetola vs Adeleke. This case is the most relevant because it is the only Supreme Court decision since the Electoral Act 2022 came into force.

Ironically, Mr Olanipekun surreptitiously ignored the Osun case which has a lot of similarities with the case at PEPT as they both bother on the place of technology in our election and to what degree INEC can choose to apply or ignore technology in our elections.

It is pertinent to state these things for the world to hear, read and see, so that we all keep an eye on the judiciary and see what comes out it.

Remember that it is not enough to do justice, justice must also be seen to have been done.

This post is to all the people (on this thread) who are justifying the UK govt wanting to increase IHS/Visa fees to raise £1,000,000,000 to fund pay rises.
The first picture is a total tax deduction from a legal tier-2 visa holder. Remember, this person has paid the IHS upfront. This person has NOT been able to get an NHS dentist. This person has been held in a 7 month NHS waiting list.

Kindly note the amount of this person’s tax that has been pumped into the NHS. In addition to the IHS which has been paid upfront.

Also kindly note the amount of this person’s taxes that have been pumped into ‘Welfare’.
Remember, this person has No Recourse to Public Funds.
