Makes sense, so she need to remain in her field and the guy can go on to Scotland but the problem now is that both may have different ILR route dates tushqueen: The wife isn't doing care, she works for the NHS also on a training to become a specialist in her field and move higher on the band. I understand now, no need for that. Just the marriage certificate and adequate proof of their long term relationship eniola1010: I am talking of when the dependent want to apply for dependent visa. The person never get visa yet. But she is already done registry with the MA. As you already know, the dependent cant already have the MA's surname cus the wedding is still fresh. The dependent still carries her father's name on all her documents.
Now i am saying. Can the dependent still apply for the visa even though she has not taken her husband's name yet across all her documents |

Not required so far as the dependent has been issued with a visa on the grounds of a main applicant eniola1010: Abeg when dependent is coming over. Is it compuslory the dependent name on the passport must already be carrying the MA's surname. Or the wedding certificate is suffice to iron out those kind of name issues.
Abi the dependent will need affidavit. |

You might be better off in Salford if the course is your dream. Salford is closer to Manchester and depending on your future plans, you might end up working for a good firm out there. I don't know much about Northhampton victorVIC1: Hi boss,
Please are there jobs in Northampton as I have an MSC offer from Northampton University. Also have from Salford but the Northampton's fee is cheaper |

My thoughts is that ..not everyone is comfortable on a care job for that lenght of time. He might be thinking, why not take up something else to allow the wife rest a little. HaneefahRN: Just wondering if it is compulsory the husband also takes up a COS from the new job since the wife's visa is not a student one I see no reason why they all can't just stay on her's till ILR |

I'm curious but why the emphasis on the speed in your decision making? With 60Mbps you can watch any streaming video or match gergemam: No make me cry nah Lexus baba 😭😭😭😭
The only thing that doesn't come with it is the restrictions on weekend games and some mid week games.

Who has the best qualification and stand a better chance to get a job + sponsorship? That person should work while the other school headofschool: Honourables please help me in my decision, last year november I was denied sponsorship by home office despite meeting all the requirements, sponsor is licensed, pay is above minimum set by UKVI, post was advertised and it's even a school job. Sponsor later hired solicitor and was still denied. D matter strong gan.
So now myself and my wife have applied to schools, she applied for masters while I applied for PGCE. I would easily get my job spec when I get there as a Technician but I am planning to now go into full teaching. Who would you advise to go for studies Me or my wife?? Toh ...like MMM or Pnzi scheme the benefits are cool BUT the RISKS are high and dangerous BorisJohnson: Dear Nigerian in the UK (Student Visa Chapter),
Working long hours in the UK, earning ££.
Selling £1 to NGN900 at Aboki Forex rates.
Applying to Nigerian bank to pay school fees via Form-A at CBN rate of £1 = NGN520 sounds like good business sense, where you are able to somehow nearly double your money without MMM or any Ponzi scheme.
It is a High Risk, ‘high’ reward venture.
Problem arises when Form A now takes 6-9 months to process…. That’s where stories that touch can crop up.
PS: This is a new post. No previous post is/was quoted. I thought to do my bit in sharing experience (before one day, I am accused of being an ancestor here but only contributing to AmarathripleO’s posts… |

Well no one is saying don't use round tripping to fund your studies but be ready to bear the kwansekwensis and don't tie your failure to anyone here SPDAZZY: I think this makes it look like majority are greedy. In my opinion, I think the students are just trying to make good use of the circumstances. We all know how expensive the student route is and the Nigerian government made it more difficult by this exchange rate issue.
If one can spend less in the very expensive fee situation, why not? If the pounds in hand isn't complete and by using form A, a student is able to pay more or all of the fees, why not? After all, the elites are making huge profits from the unfortunate situation.
The only thing is to start on time given the delay. |

You de vex too much shaaa. At the embolden, I should say it is rather you who did not do much rather than blame someone else who owes you nothing. His past experiences and knowledge about the UK is his prerogative if he chooses to share or not. Having said that let me tell you that myself and many in this thread benefitted from researching pages on Nairaland with respect to migration abroad and did our research well on the schools to select all based on the knowledge here. If you didn't gain anything from here then sorry ooo. Nor bi oga Lexusgs430 go enter your school go fight for you ok? You go de alright ya 😘 Maureen4sure: Thank you for your suggestions and advice. @Contra5, I have since emailed the vice chancellor regarding my situation.
Before coming to this forum to ask for suggestions and contributions, please don't always think people have not done their best and look for every available option.
My school is Edinburgh Napier University, and yes, students can retake a module twice within a three-month grace period.
I will like to let everyone know that I am not the only person having this issue; in fact, I have three other Nigerian coursemates with the same issue.
Two of them have since abandoned school and moved to England on COS when the issue could not be resolved last trimester. My course is a 16-month course.
My school is notorious for locking your school app if you fail your school fee repayment plan; even if you miss just one month, your school app will be locked Until they receive your payment.
I'm sure there are a lot of Napier students here on Nairaland that can testify to that.
So imagine a scenario where your payment was delayed by Form A for 3 months before the school received your payments, and within these 3 months you were given the option for resit/re-assesment for a failed module.
The school finance team is very much aware of the situation of Form A in Nigeria; they just don't care. In fact, you get reported to the UKVI in the second month of your failed repayment plan.
A lot of Nigerian students here in the UK are going through a lot: some accommodation challenges, some financial challenges ( not getting a job), and some academic challenges.
Many people, including myself, had no idea what challenges awaited us until we arrived.
We need to do a lot to support each other, particularly in this forum, when it comes to contributions, advice, and suggestions. Everything should not be all about IPTV and the Amex card of your popular dokita @Lexusgs430.
Yes, I made mention of @Lexusgs430 because he has been in this country for over 20 years, he has seen it all, and he needs to do a lot more.
Thank you for your time.
Peace. |

Ok good. So being in the UK isn't all that needs to be considered here. Is the husband in a good employ? 1. I believe he's doing 20hrs currently but is it a steady shift that brings money to the table frequently or he's chasing after available shifts? 2. Can the wife work? 3. Who takes care of the 6 months old baby while the parents are working? 4. The older siblings that are teenagers, how old are they? 5. Being teenagers doesn't mean they can take care of the 6 months baby all by themselves 🤷🏿♀️ 6. Accommodation nko? Has he secured a good accommodation cheap enough but adequate to cater for the children taking into consideration their gender? These and many more questions may need to be addressed. ConnectMee: Easy man. He’s here already and six months into his program. The baby is around six months too and has older siblings who are already teenagers. |

You can't get a share code without BRP 🤷🏿♀️ This was the reason we argued the need for dependents to apply at least 6 months before MA visa lapses. BRP is not issued for less time left on MA visa or less visa duration but hey what do we know. hustla: I asked this question about one week ago as regards entry to the UK
Did they accept or ask for share code? |
Travel › Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by bigtt76(f): 5:39am On Mar 16, 2023 |
This!!! You should have applied when your wife was applying so your BRP is delivered same time as hers while you wait and complete your final exams. No crying after spilling the milk, you just have to wait for the care job guys or if you're lucky with the cash in hand jobs which pay low mostly. GigLad: Please bosses in the house, I have a little problem. I just got to the UK as a dependent last month and my wife (main applicant) visa expires in May.
Ever since, I have been looking for jobs even if it’s cleaner or factory work but due to the fact that I have no BRP and no experience working in the UK, most of the these companies are not giving me job. The reason for not having BRP as stated by UKVI is because I entered UK in less than 6 months to the visa expiration date and the reason why it was so is because I was in my finals here in Nigeria, I had to finish school before joining my partner.
Our only option here now is to apply for PSW and I need to work to be able to meet up. We stay in Bournemouth and she’s working 20hrs/week but rent and other bills are there and we need to balance up the school fees too. Please if there’s anyone with cash in hand jobs I can do? I’d appreciate. I already have every necessary docs to work including updated DBS but only BRP. The care job that made me do the DBS are now saying till next month before I can start working with them. |

A bit confused here 1. Does it mean that because you did not resit the module you can't get a full degree? 2. What's the essence of submitting the dissertation again if the above applies? I know I sound daft but the time spent on getting the dissertation is best spent hustling for CoS. Sad really what this Form A is causing people but again (not suggesting you did oo) but many people work and earn in pounds here and send the money back to Naira at black market rate and use the proceed to purchase pounds through Form A... Instead of paying off their fees using the pounds they earned 🤷🏿♀️ Well I guess by so doing they are able to pay off their full fees using Form A than it would've been paying with what they earn but it also exposes them to the delays of Form A. YouKay schools are not smiling again o 😢 Maureen4sure: My dear fellow Nairalander,
Greetings to everyone.
My name is Maureen.
This is my story; please, I need every little advice and suggestion.
I've been in the UK since January of last year on a student visa.
To get straight to the point, I failed one of my modules and also failed to resit, all not due to my fault.
My school app was locked due to a school fee delay from Form A; it took over 3 months before school accounts were created, and the resit was scheduled within the period school app was locked, which makes me miss the rest.
I talked to my module leader, and he said there was nothing he could do since I missed the resit. I went for an appeal, and they also said there was nothing that could be done.
I received a shocker two days ago, I received an email from the school visa and immigration department saying,
"Our records show that you are out of academic opportunities for one of your modules, and this therefore means you may not graduate with your full award and instead, upon successful completion of your remaining modules, you would be awarded a lower-level qualification than that which you were originally expected to achieve, You should note that in this event, this would mean that you are likely to be ineligible to apply for the Graduate Route Visa if you wished to do so. ''
I also received an email this morning from my module leader saying that I will be awarded a postgraduate diploma instead of a master's degree.
I have cried and cried my eyes out, I know I have disappointed my husband, who works tirelessly every day and night. He works in a warehouse and also as a security guard. For me to be able to get to this stage of my life,he has been there for me every day.
He has been down with this news for the last few days.
I will be submitting my dissertation by April, so I will be officially finished with school.
Please, where do I go from here?
I am a caregiver, and I have been for a year now. Getting COS from most care homes as a student has not been easy.
Hopefully, after submitting my dissertation, I can get a care home that can sponsor me.
It seems that's the only way out for me and my family now.
Please, house, I will need any other suggestions.
Thank you for your contributions. |
