You could always compromise. Want a suv but hate the high fuel prices? Go for a crossover like a rav4, crv or if you're feeling rich...an RX. Want a car but hate bottoming out on the least speedbump? Go for a subaru outback. But then, if you want the best of both worlds....just go buy yourself some Converse Allstars......fuel bill is almost nil (but depends on the girth of your pot belly) and it can even go up stairs! |
Sweet truck! Was first quite sceptical about the non -stock grill , but these new pics really do it some justice. It looks kinda---high. Is a lifting kit in place? Can't wait to see some sweet wheels under those wheel wells - to complement the 'lift.' |
If it weren't for this thread i'd never know some car's aircons blew colder than others- maybe its because i''m a windows-down and sunroof open kinda guy. My Ford's aircon seems to work pretty fine every time I need it .....this is mostly when I'm stuck behind a sulphur puking truck from hell! ![]() I used to be very sterotypical with cars; Germans and their irreliable luxury, Japs and their reliable crap, 'Murica and their irreliable crap.....etc etc....However, as I've matured I've realised this is totally unfair at times. I sat in a recent model ls and its ride quality trumped any germano mobile ive ridden in. I also know of german cars that hardly see the inside of a mech's shop outside of servicing...in contrast to toyotas which have become tool storage cars for some mechs. And american cars? Heck, I drive a Ford......and its pretty comfy and reliable. Some of the stereotypes here should have been banished years ago! |
Nice post, however, I really dont think folks will underrate a Corvette or a Challenger. Stock sleepers like the Subaru Legacy GT and the Ford Taurus SHO are much more likely to be underatted. But then, I surely as heck didnt expect a Saturn on this list. |
Hmmm...guess all my peeves are pretty much covered above. To summarize things, the ultimate jerk will be the dude that comes up behind you on the outer lane with his highbeams on, tailgates you at 120kmph for 30minutes and then overtakes when you reach a single carriage way--- only to drop to 60kmph 'cos big man has to talk on his cell phone. Then he remains like that, right up to to where he double parks in a crowded lot; the cherry on top of the douche cake. I am hopeful this guy is fictional, but if he does exist, im pretty sure theres a special place in hell for him; one that he'll be forced to do 200kmph on a rusty Vespa within the mist of demonic truck drivers all hopped up on meth and amphetamine!! ![]() |
Observation of a few points in the car may help too. For instance, if you enter a car with a claimed 80000 on the clock and notice the cluch, brake and accelerater pedals are worn down and the leather steering wheel is as worn out and shiny as Mike Tyson's head, odds are that the dealer has double- crossed you. Also, keep your expectations REALISTIC. For example, its almost impossible to get a 13 year old pencil light that has covered only 50000miles. But if you over-insist, you'll quickly realise Baba, your dealer is a 'magician!' ![]() |
All of you, your eyes don die finis....dis one be keke napep 2008 ![]() |
He'll open the gates of hell? So they were closed all this while? |
For some reason i'm not banned yet, and im using whatsapp plus. Or is it 'cos of my yawa phone? |
Hmmmm, the rear make up is indeed quite similiar, especially with the rear lights of the camry and the corolla. The 'bowtie'execution on the avalon is pretty sweet though - kinda sums up its flow quite nicely. Apparently, Toyota saw that and thought "hey, lets put that rear on our other cars!"- and the rest is history. I guess that's why rivals like the Fusion and the Mazda 3 always whip Toyota in the looks department. |
Arent those a '15 camry, corolla and avalon? I see no avensis. Or we're supposed to google the image ourselves, abi? |
Siena:Hmmmm...*scratches head..... Might have something to do with the dashboard/radio you're putting in. Does the 'donor' lexus have an embedded antenna? |
No: 3 seem to be driving mostly old school BMWs with awful paintjobs for some reason. ![]() |
lonelydora:Me neither, my first ride was a chevy suburban |
GAZZUZZ:I just noticed a frightening bulge on one of my front tires this evening ....My dough don finis! Ain't setting foot at that vulcanizer's again !! |
CityNG:Man, I'd love to get me that Crown Vic! Got a thing about stately cars. I have almost only driven American cars. From my dad's 89ish suburban, to a '99 suburban 1500, to my present commuter, an '03 Ford Focus SE. They are awesome on the road, especially when cruising on the highway. My Focus Wagon is well buttoned down on the road and is mountains more fun to drive on curvy roads than the Corollas and Camrys I have driven. The ones I've owned are pretty reliable as well. I must admit their interiors can suck though. I think the present mentality of American cars are based on the terrible crapbuckets made from the 60s even up to the 90s like the 60s chevy corvair and 70s Ford pinto. But then it's all good- keeps second hand prices nice and low. |
From experience, I advise y'all invest in a device to measure tyre pressure. A couple of weeks ago I went to one of the local vulcanizers to check my Ford's tyre pressure. I told the dude to take them all to 32psi, the recommended pressure, according to my manual. The fellow got to work and after paying him off. I was on my way. I quicky noticed the rather uncomfortable ride, which I assumed was quite normal. It was actually when I was driving home one night that that a steady thump, thumped emanated from the rear of the car, followed up with a vibration that rattled the back seats. However, the tires looked fine when I pulled over to examine them. But when I got home and examined them in the light of my garage, what I saw alarmed me. One of the rear tires had ripped open along the thread, so badly that the underlying metallic mesh was visible. I took the car to a second place, a more 'modern' facility quite far from the house to rotate and replace the rear tires. It was when the guy was checking the pressure that he suddenly looked me straight in the face and asked 'who filled your tyres?' I was like "na vulcanizeroo" "The guy fill am past 50oo." I was like |
Fulaman198:Exactly! I was trying to emphasize the "toned" down styling of the ES in relation to even less sophisticated offerings by the competition. |
lomomike:I must admit you are quite right. The lexus does have a busy bmw-ish interior. However, in my opinion the exterior is rather laid-back if you compare it to 2015 offerings like say, the E class or even a 5 series. It does have the trademark spindle grill but then it's rather subtle if you compare it to the outrageous, accident illiciting executions on other lexuses such as the 2015 RC. |
Sophisticated, but not so much in-your-face-style......Thats why I really love lexuses, though I'm not a toyota fan. I love other full sizers like the audi a8 for the same reason. I must admit the interior reeks vaguely of BMW though. |
Billlionaire abi? And he couldn't even get her the latest model. |
tolulope855:Its not bad at all...my car has daytime running lights and it actually makes you more visible. It begins to suck when you use high beams in traffic. Unless you want to fry the retinas of oncoming drivers..id advise u dip 'em ![]() |
zeb04:Romancing? I.....don't get it. Maybe that was his attempt to make you feel comfortable? |
zeb04:Romancing? I ....dont get it. Maybe that was his attempt to make you comfortable. |
doroboss:I think mariam 78 is a robot. Robots, robots everywhere!! ![]() |
Heh? Robots? a ban will do no justice- they'll just show up under other handles. ...someone should just go over and take out their batteries, simple! ![]() |
If you looked around your mech's workshop, you would have noticed a neat tokunbo camry discreetly parked in a corner. That was your mech's x'mas gift to himself....he hasn't finished paying for it. That was where you were supposed to come in. You penny pinching miser, you ![]() |
Ahmeduana:Like a woman?....are they that wicked? Please tell me so I remain solo! |
If I were the guy behind him in traffic, i would have intentionally hit his rear left side....just to see what happens. Yeah, i'm a horrible person. ![]() |
Op says car make ooooo. Tesla........if you have the dough. |
Tesla model s |
Hmm...excessive fuel consumption could be anything....from bad o2 sensors to fouled sparkers.....If you rush into the problem blindly you might be better off buying another sienna with the money you'd have used to do try and error..... .And all that ecu stuff? in my opinion....odds are the ecu (brainbox) is hardly the problem. Let me put it like this....if your computer warns you its hard drive is full....do you address the problem by deleting unecessary stuff or you change your computer? I hope you get my analogy....your mech may be in effect killing a mosquito with a nuclear bomb!! ![]() So yeah, like mayor2013 rightly said ....go scan the car first, I bet you'll find a diagnostic center if you look hard enough...I cant help finding one though as i'm in Ghana. Cheers!! |
